OZZY OSBOURNE
UNVEILS VIDEO FOR
#1 ROCK RADIO TRACK
“UNDER THE GRAVEYARD”
FROM FORTHCOMING ALBUM, ‘ORDINARY MAN,’
DUE OUT EARLY NEXT YEAR
WATCH THE CLIP HERE

For his new video for the #1 rock track “Under The Graveyard,” OZZY OSBOURNEreteamed with acclaimed film director, screenwriter and music video director Jonas Akerlund (who worked with OSBOURNE on videos for “Let Me Hear You Scream” and “Gets Me Through”). Watch the video here.
The semi-autobiographical video was recently filmed in Los Angeles and features actors Jack Kilmer (as OZZY OSBOURNE) and Jessica Barden (as Sharon Osbourne). Set in the late 70s in the early part of OZZY‘s solo career, the clip shows the darkness of life and how a helping hand and love can change everything.
“For ‘Under the Graveyard’ Jonas (Akerlund) developed the story into a ‘mini movie,'” says OZZY OSBOURNE. “But, to be quite honest, it’s hard for me to watch because it takes me back to some of the darkest times in my life. Thankfully Sharon was there to pick me up and believe in me. It was the first time she was there to fully support me and build me back up, but it certainly wasn’t the last.”

“Under The Graveyard” recently captured the #1 position on the Rock Radio Chart and has eclipsed 5.4 million streams worldwide. It marks the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and Grammy®-winning singer and songwriter’s third #1 on this chart and his first in 10 years; “Under The Graveyard” is his first new solo music in as many years. It’s the first track from OZZY‘s forthcoming album, ORDINARY MAN, due out on Epic Records in early 2020.

ORDINARY MAN was recorded in Los Angeles and features producer Andrew Watt on guitars, Duff McKagan (Guns N’ Roses) on bass and Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers) on drums.

IAN GOTHE’s Newest Video: “Blood On The Rooftops In Montrose” Pays Homage to Steve Hackett

IAN GOTHE SHARES VIDEO FOR
“BLOOD ON THE ROOFTOPS IN MONTROSE,”
HIS HOMAGE TO GENESIS GUITARIST STEVE HACKETT

THE SONG MARKS THE SECOND OFFERING
FROM HIS DEBUT ALBUM ‘MEMENTO’
DUE OUT FEBRUARY 7, 2020
VIA THE BLACKBIRD RECORD LABEL

Los Angeles-based acoustic guitarist, singer and songwriter IAN GOTHE has released “Blood On the Rooftops In Montrose,” the second track and video from his debut album MEMENTO. Due February 7, 2020 via the California-based Blackbird Record Label, the album was co-produced by IAN with Grammy-winning producer and engineer Jim Scott (Wilco, Tom Petty). Watch the video here.

Blood On the Rooftops In Montrose” is IAN‘s homage to Genesis guitarist Steve Hackett. The intro to the song is by Hackett (“Blood On The Rooftops,” from the Genesis album Wind & Wuthering) paired with an original piece by GOTHE (*read the Q&A with IAN below*). The video–directed by Martin Yernazian and shot at IAN‘s studio in Montrose, CAwas premiered by Stereo Embers Magazine (12/12/19) which wrote:

A stirring number played with finesse, precision and heart, ‘Blood On The Rooftops In Montrose’ is a riveting display of soulful musical virtuosity. An homage to Steve Hackett, the instrumental track not only showcases Gothe’s spellbinding dexterity, it demonstrates the sophistication and sheer artistry of his compositions. The follow-up to ‘Spanish Caravan,’ which was the first single from Gothe’s debut album Memento, ‘Blood On The Rooftops In Montrose’ is further proof that Memento is one of the most widely-anticipated albums of 2020. Along with dazzling originals, the album also contains masterful interpretations of numbers by the Doors (‘Spanish Caravan’), The Coral (‘Liezah’) and The Bee Gees (‘Holiday’).”

Blood On the Rooftops In Montrose” follows the album’s first single and video, “Spanish Caravan,” IAN‘s interpretation of the Doors classic. The video was premiered via Guitar Player magazine (10/30/19)which hailed it as a “…a beautiful, deeply personal cover.”

QUOTES FROM IAN GOTHE
ABOUT “BLOOD ON THE ROOFTOPS IN MONTROSE” TRACK AND VIDEO

  • “‘Blood On The Rooftops In Montrose‘ is my homage to Steve Hackett. The intro to the song is by Hackett paired with my original piece. The song is about a couch potato, and I keep the theme of televisions as I use the classical guitar lines to reflect our connection to technology. The subtlety of the lines allows the listener to disconnect from a world that’s overwhelmed by the current sense of connection through technology. ‘Blood On The Rooftops In Montrose’ is a way for the listener to unplug and experience relief. In the video we provided a gentle slower pace with the angles and edits to support this idea.”

  • “Like all of [Martin] Yernazian’s videos the lenses that were used were vintage 1970’s Nikon custom lenses that add an atmospheric cinematic feel to the piece. Shot on Blackmagic Design cameras. Both for recording and the video I used my 2007 A.J. Lucas Classical Guitar (a luthier from England).”

GOTHE, an Armenian-American born in Iran who came to Los Angeles as a teenager, recorded MEMENTO at Jim Scott‘s Plyrz Studios in Valencia, CA. It features performances by all-star musicians Derek Frank (Shania Twain, Gwen Stefani), Fernando Perdomo (Jakob Dylan, Fiona Apple), Tamir Barzilay (Macy Gray, Tal Wilkenfeld), and Sam Babayan (The Dirty Diamond).

GOTHE brings to his compositions and arrangements a depth that can only be found in those who have dedicated themselves to their craft. The artistic choices that GOTHE makes are evidence of an artist who has emerged from a journey, confident and ready to create from a place of authentic introspection.

THE CLAY PEOPLE released their debut full-length album Firetribe in 1994 via Re-Constriction Records, followed by their 1995 EP The Iron Icon and second album Stone-Ten Stitches in 1997 before signing to Mercury/Slipdisc Records for the release of their acclaimed self-titled release in 1998. The band took a second hiatus and returned in 2018 with Demon Hero and Other Extraordinary Phantasmagoric Anomalies & Fables, an album that captures the band at a creative peak and was forged from what was at times a tenuous, cathartic and finally unifying recording process, produced by members Dan Dinsmore and Brian McGarvey while being mixed by Neil Kernon (Nile, Queensryche, Nevermore)

IS NOW #22 ON THE MAINSTREAM ACTIVE ROCK CHARTS

Coming off their recent sold-out New York City show (November 17) at Bowery Ballroom on their first-ever headlining North American tour, Mongolian rock sensation THE HU are excited to share a new song “Sugaan Essena.” It’s featured on the new EA video game “Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.” The game hit stores November 15, while “Sugaan Essena” will be released as a digital single later this year. Find out more about the game and order it here: https://www.ea.com/games/starwars/jedi-fallen-order

The band will continue their triumphant three-month tour through December 10th when they’ll play a second Los Angeles show at The Fonda Theatre (the first L.A. show this past October at the Teragram Ballroom was a sell-out). So far, the band has sold out 37 North American shows and performed at such festivals as Riot Fest (Chicago), Aftershock Festival (Sacramento) and Las Rageous (Las Vegas).

Among the band’s biggest new fans is Sir Elton John. When he recently interviewed the band on his ‘Rocket Hours’ Beats 1 radio show, Elton gave them massive praise by stating: “I’m such a fan of your album [The Gereg], and I want to congratulate you on being one of the freshest most original bands that I’ve heard in many many years.”

Formed in 2016 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, THE HU achieved global recognition with three powerful videos that have amassed over 45 million views to date–“Wolf Totem,” “Yuve Yuve Yu” and The Great Chingiss Khan“–showcasing their one-of-a-kind style of ‘hunnu rock’-a combination of American heavy rock played with traditional Mongolian instrumentation such as the Morin Khuur (horsehead fiddle), Tovshuur (Mongolian guitar), Tumur Khuur (jaw harp) and guttural throat singing in their native language.

Their debut album THE GEREG was released on September 13 via Better Noise Music and landed on several Top Ten charts in the U.S., Canada, UK and Australia, and Top 20 charts in Germany and Sweden.

THE HU have recently made their way onto the Mainstream Active Rock charts-positioned at #22 this week–with the reinvigorated release of their viral track “Yuve Yuve Yu” featuring guest vocals from Danny Case of From Ashes To New.
Listen to a stream here https://thehu.ffm.to/fatn. Further singles with guest vocals will be announced shortly including Lzzy Hale (Halestorm) on “Song of Women.

Here’s some critical praise for The HU‘s electrifying performances:

“The Hu had everyone pumping their fists and chanting “HU! HU! HU! HU! HU!” in between almost every song, and their music – which is not the kind of thing you hear every day in America – was genuinely awesome. Don’t mistake The Hu for a novelty act or anything; they are just a great band in general.”
–Andrew Sacher, Brooklyn Vegan, 9/15/19

“With so bracing a combination of sights and sounds, the Hu have been forging a highly improbable connection between the complexities of traditional Mongolian music and the 10-ton force of western metal.”
–Jim Farber, The Guardian, 10/22/19

“The sound is a rumbling, raga-like trance music supplemented by booming tribal beats that veers from a country hoe-down to snippets of Led Zeppelin, Metallica and even the buzzing drone of the Velvet Underground, all delivered in native Mongolian lyrics…The HU pay tribute to their warrior roots on ‘The Great Chinggis Khaan,’ but also demonstrate a more politically correct side with the ‘Song of Women,’ from The Gereg, which is a diplomatic passport used by Mongolian nobles and officials during the 13th century…The tribal stomp cuts through all language and cultural barriers, joining this far-off exotic location and downtown L.A. in a bond of shared humanity, which makes sense because The HU call their music ‘hunnu rock,’ the Mongolian root word for ‘human,’ and a derivation on the ancient Huns.”
–Roy Trakin, Pollstar, 10/15/19

AMERICA’s Dewey Bunnell & Gerry Beckley Interviewed by Dan Rather For “The Big Interview” Airing This Wednesday, November 27 at 8pE/5pP

DT: NOVEMBER 25, 2019
FR: MITCH SCHNEIDER, ANDREA FAULK, SRO PR
AMERICA ROCKERS DEWEY BUNNELL & GERRY BECKLEY DISCUSS THE IMPACT OF THE BEATLES ON AN ALL-NEW EPISODE OF THE BIG INTERVIEW, AIRING NOVEMBER 27 AT 8pE
Los Angeles, CA (November 25, 2019) Dewey Bunnell and Gerry Beckley, founding members of the legendary GRAMMY-winning rock band America, join Dan Rather for an all-new episode of The Big Interview-airing Wednesday, November 27 at 8pE/5pP.
In this exclusive first look, the duo discuss the tremendous impact of The Beatles’ groundbreaking performance on The Ed Sullivan Show, and how it shaped them as aspiring musicians. “The Beatles on Ed Sullivan was a turning point for everybody in our generation,” Beckley says. “It just redefined who I was as a kid. All of a sudden, it was no longer surf bands. We’re gonna grow our hair and we’re gonna sing.” The set was just one of many monumental moments that would change music, pop culture, and the country, itself. “I remember that year-we’re talking about ’63 into ’64,” Bunnell recalls. “With the assassination [of JFK], with Ali beating Liston, and with The Beatles on Ed Sullivan, that’s like a massive something happened right there.”
During their tenure with America, Bunnell and Beckley have each written their share of enduring hits. While their songwriting styles have both led to success, they could not be anymore different. Bunnell explains their eclectic yet cohesive sound, saying, “Gerry tends to write ‘indoor songs’, we say-love songs, a lot more introspective. And I do ‘outdoor songs’… So, there’s one difference.” “The other one is if it has two chords, it’s Dewey’s song,” Gerry chimes in. “If it has 102 chords, it’s mine.” Watch it here.
The Big Interview airs every Wednesday at 8pE/5pP, only on AXS TV.
