“I’m dying in the light when I see the children cry
In the bright of bombs! Bombs! Bombs!”
What’s the Holy (Nobel) Today?” by VOICE OF BACEPROT

Indonesian all-girl rock trio VOICE OF BACEPROT are not ones to shy away from tackling difficult topics surrounding global affairs. The group have faced opposition since their beginnings from conservative Muslims because they perform heavy rock/metal music while wearing hijabs and because of their gender which inspired their ground-breaking, critically acclaimed singles such as “God, Allow Me (Please) to Play Music,” “[NOT] PUBLIC PROPERTY” and “PMS.”

Following the May release of their socially conscious single “The Enemy of Earth Is You,” VOICE OF BACEPROT deliver a fierce anthem against war with their volcanic new single “What’s the Holy (Nobel) Today?” out today, June 15, digitally. Taken from their upcoming debut album RETAS arriving July 13 via 12WIRED, the breathlessly paced track picks up the rallying cry of Rage Against The Machine with a mesmerizing, insistent guitar riff and plea from vocalist/guitarist Marsya, bassist Widi, and drummer Sitti denouncing the numerous wars ravaging the world, all of which are tearing apart the lives of countless innocent people. Listen to “What’s the Holy (Nobel) Today?” streaming now below or at https://li.sten.to/whats-the-holy-nobel-today.

“One of the most gut-wrenching topics that drains us emotionally are the horrors of war,” shares Marsya. “The biggest casualties of wars are always civilians, mostly women and children. This song made us dream that perhaps one day, our united voice in rejecting war could be heard by the world. Our dream has always been to be a part of that voice, shouting against war regardless of its reasoning.”

“You can read what the single is really about between the lines,” says Sitti. “We wanted to express our experience of being trapped in a ‘war’ of our own, one which involved us being bullied on social media. People would attack us with such intense fury through negative comments even though we have never shown aggression towards anyone.”

“With ‘What’s the Holy (Nobel) Today?’ we are declaring that no positives can be taken from any war, wars separate and destroy,” exclaims Widi. “There is a political war just around the corner: the Indonesian presidential election. During previous elections, we were segregated from one another and turned against each other, even those from our closest social circle. We should learn not to let it happen again.”

VOICE OF BACEPROT are excited to spread their music and engage activism with audiences across the globe. The trio recently announced their first-ever U.S. tour later this summer from August 3 to 19 which includes a stop at Head In The Clouds Los Angeles festival. The headlining run will see the band bring their energized live performance to club stages across several major music markets including Los Angeles, New York and Chicago. 3X GRAMMY-NOMINATED ROCK GROUP
TO JOIN GODSMACK & STAIND
ON NORTH AMERICAN CO-HEADLINING RUN THIS SUMMER
(JULY 18 – AUGUST 31)

(Credit: Christian Lawrence)

After pulverizing stages across North America on the first leg of their headlining “SPIRITS 2023” tour earlier this spring, including sold-out shows in NYC, Philadelphia, Sacramento and Toronto, 3x Grammy-nominated rockers NOTHING MORE will continue to bring their potent live experience to audiences throughout 2023.Following their return from headlining shows and festival appearances across Europe, NOTHING MORE will join fellow Top 10 rock acts Godsmack and Staind on their North American co-headlining trek from July 18 to August 31. Next, they’ll launch the second U.S. leg of their “SPIRITS 2023” headlining tour this fall with support from DEAD POET SOCIETY, HYRO THE HERO (rap-rocker and Better Noise Music labelmate), and POST PROFIT. Starting July 23 in Albany, NY at The Fillmore Charlotte, the produced by Live Nation tour will stretch across the South before making its final stop at The Fillmore Charlotte in Charlotte, NC on September 25. Tickets go on sale this Friday, June 16 at 10:00 A.M. local time at https://nothingmore.net/. See below for a list of all upcoming shows.

On their new album SPIRITS, NOTHING MORE combine unapologetically massive anthems, catchy hooks, and progressive music with introspective, philosophical lyrics and thought-provoking emotionalism. The album documents the tumultuous time the world experienced over the past two years, capturing the desperation and isolation of lockdown, the spiral of substance abuse, the pain of broken relationships, and survival in self-reliance. These concepts were further explored with the development of their very own meta-personality test, SPIRITS TEST, designed by frontman Jonny Hawkins—similar to tests such as Myers-Briggs, Big 5 and the Zodiac—which results in finding out one’s “Spirit Type,” one of seven personality characters based on the test’s results. The “Spirit Types” and their origin story are further detailed in the band’s first-ever graphic novel “SPIRITS VOL.1” out now via Z2 Comics.

NOTHING MORE recently shared a new version of SPIRITS heartfelt single “Best Times” featuring Lacey Sturm (Flyleaf). Watch the music video HERE

To coincide with the tour announcement, NOTHING MORE will drop a limited-edition reverse artwork translucent smoke variant vinyl version of SPIRITS along with a new “Fuse” SPIRIT TYPE t-shirt. These will be offered individually or bundled together with the “SPIRITS VOL.1” graphic novel, in addition to a limited number of hand-signed bundles being offered. See all the new merch options available at https://store.nothingmore.net/.

Formed out of Los Angeles nearly 15 years ago, heavy metal outfit BUTCHER BABIES have consistently brought their crushing riffs and vicious vocals to audiences across the globe with their relentless tour schedule and previous releases. Marking the 10-year anniversary of their debut 2013 album Goliath (Century Media) this July, the band have prepared some of their most personal and in-depth work to date for their anticipated forthcoming double album EYE FOR AN EYE… and …‘TIL THE WORLD’S BLIND both due July 7. The project was announced last month along with the new single/music video “Red Thunder,” a return to the band’s metalcore and thrash roots. Pre-order’s for EYE FOR AN EYE… and …‘TIL THE WORLD’S BLIND are available now on cd and vinyl at https://butcherbabiesmerch.com/. Find further details below about the double album including cover art and track listing.

“It’s been exactly 10 years since the release of our debut album ‘Goliath’ that sent us into a decade of ups and downs that we wouldn’t trade for the world,” announces co-vocalist HEIDI SHEPHERD. “In celebration, we’re unleashing a well-overdue, double album that pulls in the influences and growing pains we have experienced in our successes and failures. This double album is our yin and yang; our blood pact.”

Co-vocalist CARLA HARVEY reveals that “Each album was recorded in a vastly different climate that I’m certain gave each its own distinct vibe.  ‘Eye For An Eye…’ was made in a sun-drenched Arizona desert, while during the recording of ‘…’Til The World’s Blind,’ the band was holed up, making music in the dead of winter in Midland, Michigan. You can hear the warmth in ‘Eye for an Eye…’ and the cold desolation in ‘…‘Til The World’s Blind.’ Together they encompass light and dark, fire and ice.  And in my opinion, you need both elements to make something truly great.”

Today, June 9, BUTCHER BABIES have released the melancholic and harrowing new single “Last December” (which appears on …‘TIL THE WORLD’S BLIND) across all digital platforms. The intimate song was co-produced by BUTCHER BABIES guitarist Henry Flury and Josh Schroeder (Lorna Shore, In Hearts Wake) at Random Awesome Studios. Stream/download “Last December” at https://bfan.link/last-december. Stay tuned in the next week or so for its music video premiere.

HYRO THE HERO Debuts Second Single “Sho Nuff” with ‘Last Dragon’-inspired Music Video

WITH ‘LAST DRAGON’-INSPIRED MUSIC VIDEO

ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM
‘BOUND FOR GLORY’
DUE SEPTEMBER 15 VIA BETTER NOISE MUSIC
PRE-ORDER’S AVAILABLE NOW

Credit: Romaine Scortatore

Disruptive rap-rocker HYRO THE HERO has released a thunderous new single, “Sho Nuff,” today, June 9, across all digital platforms. Inspired by one of his favorite movies, the 1985 martial arts comedy The Last Dragon, the video for “Sho Nuff” was was filmed at a movie theater in Nantes, FR (where HYRO currently resides) with director Valentin Clemot and parodies scenes from the film. Stream/download “Sho NuffHERE. Watch the music video streaming below or directly via YouTube HERE.

“‘Sho Nuff’ is an action-packed movie full of huge explosions and abuzz with activity,” says HYRO of the song. “It’s self-esteem put on record inspired by one of my favorite movies as a kid, ‘The Last Dragon.’ I’ve always wanted to make a song that exuded the confidence of Sho’nuff and the heroism portrayed by Bruce Leroy.

This song is all about attitude,” HYRO adds. “I was in the zone at the moment of recording, so I didn’t even write, I freestyled this whole song. The place I feel comfortable and confident is in front of the microphone with amazing music. I felt like Godzilla, so I rapped about being Godzilla. I felt I got that glow like Bruce Leroy did, so I had to stamp it with the words ‘Sho Nuff.’ Matt Good helped create the perfect music to allow me to do that.”

HYRO is also excited to announce his new full-length album, BOUND FOR GLORY, will be released on September 15 via Better Noise Music. The 12-track album will be his third release and was recorded and produced by Matt Good (Asking Alexandria, Hollywood Undead). It will include “Sho Nuff” and his recently released single “Head Under Water (feat. REDDSTAR & Dan Sugarman of Ice Nine Kills).” Pre-order BOUND FOR GLORY now at https://hyrothehero.ffm.to/boundforglory.

On the motivation for his new album, HYRO shares, “It’s been a long journey to try and achieve my dreams in music. The failures I’ve faced along the way are scars that heal and teach lessons. Sometimes you may have to go through fires, climb mountains, go face-to-face with enemies and maybe even leap tall buildings in a single bound. But somehow you keep going no matter what difficulties may arise because a fire inside is the energy that drives you, and a voice inside keeps letting you know that you’re Bound For Glory. My album is that voice and that fire is the music on this record.”

Multi-talented singer-songwriter, composer and producer ABBY POSNER embraces her genre-fluid blend of Americana, folk, indie pop and punk rock and frames it with her very own introspective “queer love story” on her upcoming second solo album SECOND CHANCES. Due out August 11, the self-written, recorded and produced album will mark the Los Angeles-based artist’s first release via Blackbird Record Label. It was inspired by a major breakup and relays themes of resilience, patience, acceptance, self-awareness, and rebuilding.

Today, June 7, ABBY has shared an in-studio performance video, recorded live and in one take, for the debut single “Simple Life” in advance of its digital release this Friday, June 9. Filmed at Sonic Boom Studios in Venice, CA during the album’s recording session with her live band, “Simple Life” takes the listener to a relaxed state of mind and allows them to be reminded of the simple things in life. As Glide Magazine noted, “Channeling the majestic folk of 70s’ singer-songwriters with a modern Americana edge…Abby Posner certainly has a way with words, images, and echoing a sepia-toned light with her tunes that evoke the forthright sounds of Aimee Mann, Lydia Loveless and Lucinda Williams.”

“We live in such a chaotic world right now, politically and socially, I believe that it is important to have art and music that can bring us back to earth…that can ground us in these unpredictable times,” says ABBY. “‘Simple Life’ is that song for me.  Every time I play it, I am immediately transported to a different environment.  Almost like a meditation.”

“We live in a material-focused, capitalist society…every man for himself,” she continues. “I thought, what would it be like to write a song about letting go? Letting go of material items and focusing on planting seeds, growing love, and leaning into a higher power. Simply surrendering.”

Watch the video for “Simple Life” streaming below or directly via YouTube HERE. Stream/download the single across digital platforms HERE.

ABBY, who identifies as queer (they/she), will be celebrating LGBTQ Pride Month by hosting Los Angeles’ Hotel Café’s first-ever Pride Festival event on Saturday, June 1. All tickets sold will be donated to Campaign for Southern Equaliity, a non-profit organization working to address the intersections of race, class and gender in the lives of LGBTQ+ Southerners. The event will feature a headlining set by ABBY in addition to performances from Raya Yarbough, Praise Kink, Joseph Eid and Jessica Childress. Tickets are on sale now HERE.

This is the first-ever Pride Festival at the famous Hotel Cafe in Hollywood CA,” exclaims ABBY. “I’ve been playing on this stage for over 12 years, and I have never seen an official Pride celebration held here. There are so many talented queer performers in Los Angeles–I wanted to highlight them at this iconic venue during Pride month. The tickets purchased at the door will go directly to Southern Equality. After being on tour in the South for the past month, I can’t think of a better organization to donate to. I feel extremely safe in Los Angeles being a queer person. Everyday LGBTQ people are fighting for their rights all over the South. This organization works hard to keep LGBTQ protected and safe.”

ABBY is also excited to announce she will be performing as an official showcase artist at AMERICANAFEST 2023 this September in Nashville, TN.

ABBY has held several early-career milestones including being featured on prime-time television on the hit series “Glee”; creating film scores for award-winning projects including the STARZ documentary “Lady Buds”; sharing the stage with acts including Sierra Hull, Dave Alvin, and iconic lesbian folksinger Phranc; and having her songs be used by Hulu, Netflix, Freeform and “This American Life.”

We want to take pictures with the Hollywood sign and see what Madison Square Garden looks like up close! We also want to try a slice of the good ol’ American apple pie we’re used to seeing in films.”

VOICE OF BACEPROT (pronounced ‘bah-che-prot’)—Marsya (vocals & guitar), Widi (bass) and Sitti (drums)—will be touring in support of their anticipated debut album RETAS due July 13 via 12WIRED (see cover artwork pictured below). The band recently shared the album’s galvanizing single “The Enemy Of Earth Is You”— a call-to-action protest anthem against indifference to climate change which Louder Sound praised for its “infectious grooves and nimble-fingered riffs.” Watch its animated lyric video HERE.

The trio, who are all Muslims, sing in English, Bahasa Indonesia and Sundanese, and have faced opposition from conservative Muslims, in their hometown of Garut, West Java due to the unique and contradictory combination of performing heavy rock/metal music and their wearing of the hijab on stage. They have turned heads with previously released singles “School Revolution,” “God, Allow Me (Please) to Play Music,” “[NOT] PUBLIC PROPERTY” and “PMS” which has garnered attention from renowned global media outlets including New York Times, NPR, BBC and The Guardian, in addition to praise from iconic rock musicians including Flea of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine, Vernon Reid of Living Colour and Slash who invited them to attend Guns N’ Roses show in Jakarta and met with them backstage. After several years of blood, sweat, and tears, VOB are set to unveil their greatest work yet with their debut RETAS.

About THE SPINNERS:

THE SPINNERS–one of the biggest and most influential soul groups of the 1970’s, helping to create the foundation for The Sound of Philadelphia–are well-known for their string of soulful and vocally harmonic hits produced by Thom Bell, with songs like “I’ll Be Around,” “Ghetto Child,” and “The Rubber Band Man,” as well as the chart-topping “Then Came You” featuring Dionne Warwick and more during their time recording for Atlantic Records.

THE SPINNERS formed in 1954 in suburban Detroit and celebrate a 60+ decade career which has included consistent touring and massive hits. With their awe-inspiring vocal range and harmonic abilities on songs that elegantly merged smooth Philly soul with glistening pop, THE SPINNERS have left a big mark on the musical world.

THE SPINNERS have remained an actively touring group for decades, performing their beloved hits to audiences of all ages, and released a new album in 2021, Round the Block and Back Again.

Their first single “That’s What Girls Are Made For” peaked at No. 27 on the Billboard Hot 100 pop chart in 1961. Then, after almost a decade with Motown, THE SPINNERS signed to Atlantic Records in 1973. The group also received a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1976 and the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 1999. THE SPINNERS continue to record music and their cultural impact extends into movies and TV.
