North Carolina-based alternative folk artist JEREMY SQUIRES pours out his innermost feelings in his new single, “Labyrinth,” taken from his upcoming August 28 album release MANY MOONS via Blackbird Record Label. With each pluck of his guitar string, the singer-songwriter/multi-instrumentalist captivates listeners’ hearts as he soothingly croons lyrics that reminisce of a time that once was. “Labyrinth” was premiered yesterday (8/6) at Americana Highways which noted its “close up production feel that will draw you into feeling like you are sitting right here listening live” while describing the song as “very fluid and flowy.”

“‘Labyrinth’ is one of my favorite songs from ‘Many Moons’ and one of my favorite songs that I’ve ever written,” shares JEREMY. “I experimented with alternate tunings for the song and came up with a textured/dreamy sound. The lyrics are very close to my heart as well. This song is about living in the same place where you grew up and watching everything change around you. This line from ‘Labyrinth’ conveys what I try to express in the song: ‘The neighbors were building a treehouse for the kids in the yard where I used to play for hours dreaming.’ I tried to write and sing it in a way that paints a vivid portrait.”

Labyrinth” is available across all digital platforms today, stream/download it here: http://smarturl.it/labyrinthsingle

MANY MOONS was produced and mixed between JEREMY‘s home studio and a nearby abandoned church. JEREMY recorded all instrumentation including vocals, guitars, bass, drums, percussion, piano and synth aside from a few select tracks that feature Whit Wright (American Aquarium, Jason Isbell, Kacey Musgraves) on pedal steel guitar. Across its 10 tracks, JEREMY does not shy from revealing his true heart as his lyrics revolve around intense life experiences he’s endured–from being diagnosed with bipolar disorder and the feeling of guilt for passing it on to his son to memories of his mother, who he lost due to opioid addiction. The result is haunting melancholic melodies that create a unique sonic texture embellished by his experimentation of originally writing the songs on his analog keyboard and citing influences from Paul Westerberg to Mark Kozelek / Sun Kil Moon to The Cure

With the release of their fifth full length album KALIYUGA out today, Friday, August 7 via UNFD, Australian melodic metalcore outfit/environmental harbingers IN HEARTS WAKE have released a new single/music video for the aspirational track “Moving On” as well as announced a community tree planting day on Saturday, August 8 in the Northern Rivers, AU (details below).
Moving On” celebrates letting go of that which no longer serves us and is a celebration of transformation and getting back to what really matters. IN HEARTS WAKE firmly believe that as we regrow our roots, we remember our way forward. Like many songs from the upcoming album, it is a track of ruthless self-examination. Probing personal and transpersonal insights into the human condition, searching for what helps or hinders the way forward.

Like many in the music industry, the band have faced their own challenges during the preparation for KALIYUGA‘s release as the band members all live in different locations and have been isolated from one another during the global pandemic.

“In 2020 everything has felt quite uncertain,” shares IN HEARTS WAKE frontman JAKE TAYLOR. “For us, ‘Moving On’ encapsulates the light at the end of the tunnel. It dawns the release of our new record ‘Kaliyuga’ and we are thrilled to finally share it with the world!”

IN HEARTS WAKE will continue to promote the mission and vision that compelled the five of them to come together at the young age of 15 which was to craft and perform the finest authentic, purposeful and passionate heavy music they could while making a positive difference along the way. The band have transformed into an international bright light since those days and they are dedicated to igniting widespread positive change.

KALIYUGA is the culmination of their efforts having been 100% entirely carbon offset through the purchase of carbon credits in the Yarra Yarra Biodiversity Corridor of Western Australia. The album is also packaged and manufactured plastic free, using recycled materials including vinyl copies of the album being pressed on calcium based eco-plastic using vegan ink with recycled and eco-friendly packaging.

To further their efforts, IN HEARTS WAKE previously pledged to plant one tree for every thousand views of their single “Worldwide Suicide” which now has over 300,000 views and counting. The band will be hosting a community tree planting day in partnership with Rainforest4 on Saturday, August 8 aiming to plant 1,000 trees in two hours and are inviting anyone in the Northern Rivers area to join them at Earthwalker & Cromwell Farms on their one-hundred-acre property. Social distancing guidelines will be adhered to. Those wishing to attend must register hereHead to the Facebook event for more information.

WARDRUNA will release their fifth full length album, KVITRAVN–which translates to ‘White Raven’–January 22, 2021 via BY NORSE MUSIC in the U.S. and SONY MUSIC /COLUMBIA RECORDS (worldwide excl. U.S.). Widely known for their ability to transcend music genres, cultures and languages while introducing innovative and genre-creating renditions of ancient Nordic traditions, KVITRAVN marks a distinct evolution in WARDRUNA‘s unique sound. In a rich musical tapestry, WARDRUNA use a broad selection of both traditional and historical instruments and include guest appearances by a small group of prominent traditional singers, spearheaded by Kirsten Bråten Berg–one of the most important custodians of Norwegian traditional song. Throughout its 11 songs, KVITRAVNdiscusses Northern sorcery, spirit-animals, shadows, nature and animism, the wisdom and meanings of certain myths, various Norse spiritual concepts, and the relation between sage and songs.

The first new music was heard earlier this year in February with the debut single/music video “Grá” (which translates in English as ‘grey’) seen HERE. The song speaks about the ancient bond and relationship between man and wolf and seeks to address and acknowledge the cost and responsibility of being part of, and not above, nature.

Pre-order options for KVITRAVN are available via digital download at https://wardruna.lnk.to/Kvitravn_Album. The album is also available on CD and 180-gram 2LP gatefold vinyl (black or ltd. Edition white) at https://wardruna.aisamerch.com/.

THE BLACK MOODS Announce “August Isolation” Livestream Concert Supporting “Music For Rocky Point” Covid Relief Fund; “Sunshine” Lands at #16 in Active Rock Radio Charts

DT: AUGUST 4, 2020
FM: KELLY WALSH, SRO PR

AZ-BASED ROCK TRIO
THE BLACK MOODS
ANNOUNCE “AUGUST ISOLATION” LIVESTREAM SHOW
SUPPORTING
“MUSIC FOR ROCKY POINT” COVID RELIEF FUND
ON THURSDAY, AUGUST 20 @ 7:00 PM PT

LAND THEIR FIRST-EVER TOP 20 BILLBOARD ACTIVE ROCK RADIO SINGLE
WITH TITLE TRACK OF NEW ALBUM,
‘SUNSHINE’

BAND SHARE DETAILS ON RECORDING NEW SONG WITH LEGENDARY PRODUCER EDDIE KRAMER,
BEGIN TRACKING NEW ALBUM WITH JOHNNY “K” KARKAZIS

Arizona-based guitar-driven rock’n’roll trio THE BLACK MOODS have refused to let a pandemic slow down their momentum following the release of their sophomore album SUNSHINE on May 8 via Steelhorse Entertainment/The Fuel Music. Instead, they landed their first-ever Billboard’s Top 20 Active Rock hit with the album’s title track, currently at #16 and marking a career highlight for them. The success of the “Sunshine” track follows three previous singles from the album that debuted in the Active Rock chart’s Top 30: “Bad News” (#24), “Bella Donna” (#29) and “Whatcha Got at (#30).

THE BLACK MOODS have announced a livestream concert, “AUGUST ISOLATION,” to benefit the “MUSIC FOR ROCKY POINT” Covid Relief fund which supports the community of Puerto Peñasco, MX (aka Rocky Point) whose livelihood is dependent on tourism and has been drastically affected due to border closures and government restrictions on account of the pandemic. The livestream will be free to the public with an optional tip jar with all funds raised going to “MUSIC FOR ROCKY POINT.” The band will also donate 20% of all merch sales generated during the stream, which will include an exclusive signed event poster, limited to 100 copies.

“Rocky Point has become our second home over the years and where a lot of our early success began,” shares THE BLACK MOODS. “We have been playing shows there for almost a decade and our drummer Chico’s grandparents lived there during his childhood. With the pandemic, the city–which already had financial issues–is really suffering. We are proud and honored to be able to help support the ‘Music for Rocky Point’ fund through our music.”

THE BLACK MOODS have spent the past few months of quarantine in the Ozarks, hometown of vocalist/guitarist JOSH KENNEDY, where they transferred equipment from their home studio in Arizona to write and record material for their next album. The band have re-enlisted SUNSHINE‘s Grammy-Award nominated producer Johnny “K” Karkazis for the new album and recently completed the first recording session. The trio are also excited to share they have collaborated with legendary producer Eddie Kramer (Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones) on a new track which was remotely recorded using software programs such as Zoom and Audio Movers. Stay tuned for updates and details on new music in the near future.

SUNSHINE bridges the gap between hard-rock’s past and present by merging guitar crunch and tight songcraft with urgent, blunt lyrics about romantic desire and conflict. Itwas lauded as “a fun, refreshingly simple record-the kind that will have critics talking about a return to a bygone era of rock ‘n’ roll” by Phoenix New Times who featured the band on their May cover issue.

SINGLE MUSIC Highlights New Shopify ‘In-Store’ Livestream Option with THE MARCUS KING BAND ‘Four of A Kind’ Livestream Concert Series

SINGLE MUSIC
HIGHLIGHTS SUCCESS OF NEW LIVESTREAM OPTION
VIA SHOPIFY
WITH
THE MARCUS KING BAND ‘FOUR OF A KIND’ LIVESTREAM SERIES

FOURTH & FINAL PERFORMANCE SET FOR MONDAY, AUGUST 3

SINGLE MUSIC, the leading music distribution toolkit for Shopify, has continued to expand boundaries with their innovative app that allows direct-to-consumer sales for artists, labels and merch companies as they recently introduced a game-changing new feature–bringing ticketed live streams into an artist’s existing store.

This Monday, August 3 at 8:00 P.M. CDT one of SINGLE MUSIC‘s artists–the Marcus King Band–will stream the fourth and final show from their “Four of Kind” livestream series which launched on Monday, July 13 and saw the band perform live from Nashville showcasing their new music with all proceeds going to the Recording Academy’s “MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund.” Tickets can be found HERE.

Rather than holding the performance over webcam as many other artists have to great success, King‘s first show brought a full-scale concert production to the digital airwaves. King drove into the performance space in a 1967 Cadillac El Dorado. After he got out of the car, he picked up his guitar, and the show began. Previous shows have featured guest appearances while allowing fans access to exclusive vintage styled t-shirts, posters and the opportunity to participate in an ongoing auction for music gear signed by the King himself.

See some examples of merch items offered below:

Via SINGLE MUSIC, artists are now able to sell tickets to and perform a live stream along with a built-in moderated fan chatroom, directly from their store. Tickets can be bundled with a merch item giving fans access to the exclusive/gated stream where artists’ can then set up a virtual ‘merch table’ offering featured merch items throughout the stream displayed under the video player such as exclusive posters or t-shirts. Just like a real show, artists’ can include partners and sponsors or raise money for a charitable cause.

Since launching the live stream ticketing platform this past April, SINGLE MUSIC artists have sold more than 65,000 tickets and received over $1.5mm in 100% commission-free merch and ticket bundle sales. SINGLE MUSIC has also aligned with companies offering optional add-on services including an SMS Virtual Photobooth, Virtual Meet & Greet, Vinyl Record Pressing, Call to Actions for social causes (including voter registration, petitions, etc.) and more.

SINGLE MUSIC now has over 2,000 artists and labels currently signed up for their service including Juice WRLD, Harry Styles, LAUV, Tim McGraw and HAIM. Combined clients have delivered over 1,000,000 digital albums including 11 #1 charting records. They have also aligned themselves with many top merchandising companies such as Live Nation Merch, Absolute Merch, The Hyv, Wallflower Merch and Futureshirts.

SINGLE MUSIC was created by Nashville-based CEO and entrepreneur/musician Tommy Stalknecht to provide an easy way for artists and labels to sell their merch and music directly to fans while keeping a larger portion of revenues. The paradigm also offers instant reporting to Nielsen for official Billboard chart tallying and was the first Shopify app to offer BuzzAngle reporting for the Rolling Stone Charts. To further help artists achieve success, the company developed BoostLinks, a marketing tool to drive follows, subscribes and pre-saves that allows artists to create a customizable landing page that combines their physical merch with pre-adds, saves and streaming links to increase fan engagement, follows and subscribes.

“You’ve been breathing dark magic to me/When I’m singing sad songs/
You can’t pick me up but you drag me along” – “Cast Spells”

Alternative folk singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist JEREMY SQUIRES will be releasing his 10th full length album, MANY MOONS, on August 28 via Blackbird Record Label. Opting to record the songs he’d written on his analog keyboard over the last few years, the experimentation leads to some unexpected sounds, yet the heart of SQUIRES’ songwriting remains true. Known for his haunting melodies and evocative lyrics, the prolific North Carolina native premiered its debut single/music video “Cast Spells” yesterday (July 30) via The Bluegrass Situation. The video, seen below, features a compilation of eccentric clips and home video footage. “Cast Spells” is out tomorrow, July 31, and is being offered as an instant grat track with all digital pre-orders of MANY MOONS.

Reserve your copy now at https://ffm.to/1rlxrre and scroll below for an in-depth Q&A with JEREMY on the making of the album.

“When I wrote ‘Cast Spells,’ I had originally intended for it to be an acoustic song and a duet,” shares JEREMY. “Over time I felt the song could be opened up more and I started playing around with different soundscapes and textures. Ultimately the song evolved into what it is now. ‘Cast Spells’ is one of my favorite songs on the record and tells a poetic truth from a haunting perspective.”

On MANY MOONS, the heart of SQUIRES can be felt throughout its poignant songwriting which revolve around intense life experiences JEREMY has endured–from being diagnosed with bipolar disorder and the feeling of guilt for passing it on to his son to memories of his mother, who he lost due to opioid addiction. He pours these emotions into the album further by performing each aspect of its music entirely on his own including vocals, guitars, bass, drums, percussion, piano and synth. His friend and fellow musician Whit Wright (American Aquarium, Jason Isbell, Willie Nelson) adds petal steel guitar on select tracks.

MANY MOONS‘ Track listing
  1. Hazy
  2. Cast Spells
  3. Glass House
  4. Vanishing
  5. Labyrinth
  6. Hummingbird
  7. Many Moons
  8. Infinite Chords
  9. Swan Dive
  10. The Shade You Cast
While Americana music is littered with melancholy tales of drinking, loss, and broken romance, Squires delivers raw, concise lyrics – ungarnished by flowery rhetoric that candidly spell out tragedy.”
No Depression (2/15/16)

MANY MOONS was partially recorded at a local old abandoned church in New Bern, NC as well as at JEREMY‘s in-home studio where he experimented with his sound by recording the songs he’d written over the last few years on his analog keyboard, which led to some unexpected sounds.

“I hope that people who know my music will really enjoy it and see it for what it is,” JEREMY says. “I feel happy when I listen to it. I feel like I really wanted to do this album and I know I’m not going to do another one like this one.”

JEREMY SQUIRES
Q&A for ‘MANY MOONS’

Congratulations on your Many Moons album. You’re known as a folk singer-songwriter, but you opted to write these songs on your analog keyboard, and the experimentation leads to some unexpected sounds on the album. What inspired this different approach?

JEREMY SQUIRES: Thanks!  Well, to be completely honest I felt bored and I was feeling burnt out. I wanted to expand beyond the “folk/America/singer-songwriter” borders. I wanted to write something special, emotional and dreamy. Many Moons is what came out of that. I don’t ever write with a concept in mind. Sometimes it comes out (lyrically) in pieces and I have to figure out what and where certain things are coming from. It’s like therapy or a puzzle…I like the listener to create their own narratives and take what they will from what I have written. I use a lot of metaphor in my lyrics but yet I still try to express a reality to the listener. I write purposely in a way that the listener can get their own deeper meaning from the songs and still relate.

“Cast Spells” reels in the listener with intense lyrics like, “You’ve been breathing dark magic to me/When I’m singing sad songs/You can’t pick me up but you drag me along.” And you sing these lines very softly, which creates a really haunting effect. Can you talk about this dichotomy?

SQUIRES: “Cast Spells” reflects the dichotomy of emotions. You can feel both pain and love simultaneously; you can feel intense emotions and still be soft spoken. Human feelings are complex and I like to convey that in my poetry or songs.

In a song like “Swan Dive,” you contrast the personal anguish in the lyrics with the sweet and faraway-sounding pedal steel guitar work of Whit Wright. As the album’s producer, can you talk about making choices like this?

SQUIRES: I have never really thought about it like that. I think that I’m just drawn to the darker, more melancholy side of things. I feel like when I finish recording certain songs like “Swan Dive” it needs pedal steel on it to enhance the emotion in the music. It not only sounds dark, but it sounds beautiful. As a producer I can hear things in my head that I want to come to life and I try to bring it out and make it resonate.

Many Moons is built around imagery of darkness and dreams, and it has some of the slow-burning moodiness of say, The Cure’s Disintegration album. Did that album influence you in any way and if so, how?

SQUIRES: Yes. The Cure is one of my favorite bands and their music has influenced me in many ways. Disintegration made a huge impact on me as a musician and my life growing up. It’s moody, poetic and dark and it helped me and still does to this day.  The mood and sound of that album helped shape me as a songwriter.

Any other artists light you up and which albums of theirs and why?

SQUIRES: I’ve been listening to DIIV a lot and their new album Deceiver has been on repeat lately. I love The Delines’ album The Imperial. It’s so good. The Replacements’ album Let it Be is one of my favorite albums ever. Same for Husker Du’s New Day Rising.  I absolutely love Anna Tivel’s album The Question.  Her voice is entrancing and the way she writes is just beautiful. My friend Shane Leonard played on that record. He has played on a few of my albums as well. I love The Tallest Man On Earth. His album Shallow Grave still gets played a lot around my house.

What inspired you to call the album Many Moons after a song on the album?

SQUIRES: I actually named the album Many Moons before that song was even thought about. I felt like the album was finished and then I wrote that song one day and it felt like it would flow with Many Moons and the lyrics reflected the title of the album so well that I just named the song after the album.

You recorded the album in your home studio and in an abandoned church where you live. Can you talk about the atmosphere of the church and the acoustics there? Does the church have any significant meaning to you or was it just a random location you discovered?

SQUIRES: Yes I did. The church felt lonely and haunted. The acoustics were really amazing–every sound was enhanced in there and every single movement amplified. The church was one that my Granny went to many years ago. Places like that always creep me out when no one is there. Especially at night. It was pretty weird.

What do you want listeners to take away from Many Moons?

SQUIRES: I want the listener to take something positive away from this album and paint their own picture of what the songs are about and hopefully relate to it. I hope that by sharing my personal experiences and by attempting to make something beautiful from them that the listener can find peace in their own personal struggles.

How do you feel living in North Carolina influences your songs and the music?

SQUIRES: I think it’s just a part of who I am. How I write changes from time to time and I’m sure that the scenery and my experiences here have had some sort of impact on my writing on a deeper level.

If you were to record a duet with a current artist outside the genre of music for which you’re known, who might that be–and which song would you cover and why?

SQUIRES: If I could record a duet with anyone right now, it would be with Amanda Shires or Lera Lynn. I consider them genre-bending and so I think we would sound nice together and I’d like to cover Tom Petty’s “It’ll All Work Out.” It’s one of my favorite songs ever and it has resonated with me like no other song has done.

Can you describe your best gig ever-and your worst one?

SQUIRES: Oh wow, lol. I think my best gig was when I played with Lillie Mae at Motorco in Durham, NC. It was a lot of fun and it was one of those shows that just felt special. The crowd was big and so into the music and all the bands that played were not only there to play but to support each other as fans and friends.

Now the worst gig… probably when I drove all the way to Lexington, KY to play for nobody. I played for the band that opened for me. I’ll leave it at that.

Which famous historical event would you like to have witnessed and why?

SQUIRES: Hmmm, good one. I would have to say the “War of the Worlds” radio broadcast or the solar storm of 1859. I think it would have been pretty incredible and a little scary to have been there for either of these. I would’ve loved to have seen the auroras pulsating through the sky.  I love just about anything sci-fi or star/space related.

Is there a song (by another artist) you crank up on Friday night to kick off the weekend-and a song (by another artist) you kick back with on a Sunday morning?

SQUIRES: Haha, yes! I love the new Choir Boy album Gathering Swans. So pretty much any song off that but especially “Nites like This.” It’s pure gold. I love to relax and chill out with Mazzy Star early in the morning sometimes. I mostly listen to the Still EP from 2018. My favorite Mazzy Star song off of that EP is “Quiet, the Winter Harbor.” It is also my favorite song by them. It’s so beautiful and calming.

What is your biggest guilty pleasure (film, album, or other)?

SQUIRES: I can’t really answer this question since I don’t believe in the term “guilty pleasure.”  You either like something or you don’t, and if you like it then you should never feel ashamed of it. That’s how I live my life and it’s how I’ve always felt.

—What advice would you give now to your younger self?

SQUIRES: I would tell my younger self that time goes by way too fast and to live and love every day and others to the fullest because you never know how quickly the ones you love can be taken away from you.

GODSMACK’s Sully Erna Hosts ‘Live From The Living Room’ Marathon Fundraiser In Support Of SCARS Foundation

DATE: JULY 29, 2020

FROM: MARCEE RONDAN/KELLY WALSH/MITCH SCHNEIDER

SULLY ERNA OF GODSMACK
TO HOST THURSDAY, AUGUST 6
“LIVE FROM THE LIVING ROOM”
MARATHON FUNDRAISER TO
BENEFIT THE SCARS FOUNDATION

Sully Erna of GODSMACK has gathered some of rock’s top voices for his LIVE FROM THE LIVING ROOM marathon fundraiser to benefit THE SCARS FOUNDATION, which he founded. Click here for more info. The Thursday, August 6 benefit will stream on his YouTube channel and the Foundation’s Facebook page at 8:00 PM (ET)/5:00 PM (PT) and will feature special sets from GODSMACK special and SULLY solo (accompanied by Chris Lester and Máiréad Nesbitt), plus performances from Aaron Lewis (Staind), Brent & Zach Of Shinedown, Papa Roach, Mike & Adam Of Saint Asonia, Nuno Bettencourt and Clint Lowery (Sevendust).
“I had always looked for ways to give back and help others in some way after reaching certain levels of success in my life,” SULLY ERNA says. “But I could never really figure out where to dedicate my time and attention and what was important to me, or where I even had experience to offer.”

“One day I started thinking about my own life and being a survivor of such an extremely rough inner city and that’s where all my experience was.  It was all the battle wounds and scars I’ve carried that made me stronger and made me the man I am today.  Instead of being ashamed of my imperfections, or hiding from them, I learned how to embrace them and grow from those experiences.  I want to share that with people and lend my stories, my experiences, and my theories on how you can overcome challenging times rather than letting them ruin your life.”

“And that’s why the Scars Foundation is so important to me.  It’s personal.  It’s my life.  And it’s important that people who struggle with these mental health issues and ‘imperfections’ or ‘Scars’ as we call them, learn how to embrace them, and show them to the world loudly and proudly!  I hope the work we do with TSF inspires people to come forward and share their stories so that those stories inspire more people to come forward and break the silence and internal struggles.  Just remember you’re not alone.  And we’re all imperfectly perfect.  Just the way we’re supposed to be!”

Beyond the livestream (which will feature a live ticker displaying how much money is being raised throughout the event), a 10-day auction will advance the event with a variety of GODSMACK instruments (listed below); bids can be placed here. Proceeds from the live event and auction will benefit THE SCARS FOUNDATION. To mark one of the biggest gaming title launches of the year, PlayStation®4 exclusive The Last of Us™ Part II, PlayStation Australia worked with multi-instrumentalist and global sensation acclaimed artist TASH SULTANA to re-record “Through The Valley”–the iconic track from the game’s reveal trailer that went viral in 2016. Due to overwhelming demand, the release of TASH‘s cover of “Through The Valley” is available now on Mom+Pop.

“This is the first time I’ve done a collab like this,” TASH says. “Usually, it’s kinda just like writing sessions with other musos but this is for a game and it’s different as it’s not my usual style to venture into so I’m completely honored to be asked to do something like this. The reaction has been amazing and it’s been great hearing all the positive messages from everyone so I wanted to make sure the song was available everywhere.”

The original track by U.S. blues and folk artist Shawn James is sung by lead character Ellie in The Last of Us™ Part II reveal trailer and tells a dark tale of struggle and someone who, by the grace of their own killer instinct, does not fear. The song is reminiscent of Ellie’s experience in a cruel post-pandemic world.
Patrick Lagana, Director of Marketing at Sony Interactive Entertainment Australia, said, “‘Through The Valley’ became a #1 hit in several markets when featured in the 2016 reveal trailer for The Last of Us Part II, so we were super excited with the idea of recreating this with a phenomenal Aussie talent like TASH SULTANA that truly creates a special Australian moment to mark the launch of one of our biggest titles for PS4.”

Matt Holmes, Executive Creative Director at Poem, said, “We’re passionate about earning attention for brands by creating ideas that earn a place in people’s lives, ideas that people will actually care about. The TLOU world is incredibly immersive and fans are genuinely emotionally invested in the characters and the story. We wanted to tap into that feeling and the crazy excitement for this sequel by using music as it’s a powerful emotional trigger and several tracks and guitar chords have become synonymous with the game. I couldn’t be prouder of the result. TASH did an incredible job in the recording and the final launch video is a cool collision of cultures that The Last of Us™ fans and music fans are loving.”

About TASH:

TASH SULTANA is an explosive live artist who has commanded global attention since homemade videos went viral. Tash was soon selling out major arenas globally and playing at the world’s biggest festivals–no mean feat for an artist who just a year before was recording songs on a go pro in a bedroom.
Since Tash’s grandfather gifted a guitar at the age of three, the self-taught artist quickly developed a unique style that has seen Tash breaking record attendances around the globe. Tash has mastered over 12 instruments, has a vocal that shines with a magical quality and a live show that needs to be seen to be believed.
The one-person powerhouse started out playing open mic nights on a fake id and busking on the streets of Melbourne, Australia. Recent accolades include over 1 Billion combined streams, an ARIA award for Blues and Roots Album of The Year with ‘Flow State’, smash single ‘Jungle’ coming in at #3 in triple j’s Hottest 100, achieving platinum sales for the Notion EP, double platinum sales for ‘Jungle’ and platinum sales for ‘Notion’ along with numerous gold certified singles. Tash’s live show has seen her become the only artist to sell out 3 Brixton Academy shows before their debut album along with selling another 500,000 tickets worldwide which recently culminated in a sold out performance at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre, with noted stand out sets at Coachella & Lollapalooza.

SINGLE MUSIC DEBUTS LIVESTREAM TICKETING FOR SHOPIFY

SINGLE MUSIC
DEBUTS LIVESTREAM TICKETING FOR SHOPIFY

SINGLE MUSIC, the leading music distribution toolkit for Shopify, continues to expand boundaries with their innovative app that allows direct-to-consumer sales for artists, labels and merch companies as they introduce a new feature–bringing ticketed live streams into an artist’s existing store.
Artists are now able to sell tickets to and perform a live stream along with a built-in moderated fan chatroom, directly from their store. Tickets can be bundled with a merch item or to raise money for a charitable cause.
“The loss of touring has drastically affected ticket revenue, including ancillary merch sales that make up a significant portion of an artist’s income,” says SINGLE MUSIC CEO and entrepreneur/musician Tommy Stalknecht. “By hosting live streams within an artist’s Shopify storefront, artists are experiencing record-breaking traffic, sales volumes, and creating direct relationships with their fans for future engagement. The artist controls the messaging, branding, and, most importantly–the transaction. Once touring has come back in full swing, knowing who attended your live streams will be invaluable in getting live revenue back on track.”

Since launching the live stream ticketing platform this past April, SINGLE MUSIC artists-including Michael Franti, Dance Gavin Dance, Underoath, Dashboard Confessional and more–have sold more than 65,000 tickets and received over $1.5mm in 100% commission-free merch and ticket bundle sales. SINGLE MUSIC has also aligned with companies offering optional add-on services including an SMS Virtual Photobooth, Virtual Meet & Greet, Vinyl Record PressingCall to Actions for social causes (including voter registration, petitions, etc.) and more.

See some praise from their current clients below:

Working with Single Music these last few months has been awesome. When we first dipped our toes into the live streaming waters we were definitely a bit lost and they helped us navigate a lot of the complexities! Super stoked to have such an involved and responsive team on the other end of the line!
SWITCHFOOT

“Working with Single Music on the Michael Franti Stay At Home Concert series has greatly increased traffic and sales to the online store, much more than we anticipated. There is an overall increase in merch sales bundled with the live stream tickets as well as standalone merch.  I am blown away by the results and we are hoping to replicate with other Manhead clients.”
Bruce Fitzhugh, VP Artist Services, Manhead Merch
“I spent a few weeks vetting streaming platforms and very quickly I realized Single Music set the bar others had to meet.  They were the only service that was 100% built around how to support the artists to generate as much revenue as possible because they were built into Shopify. Other platforms told us they could link to our store and had other loose drivers to merch. Single Music combined with Shopify apps like Klayvio allowed us to substantially exceed the revenue per streamer seen on most other platforms and they do this all with a lower fee than the others!”
Randy Nichols, Force Media Management, Underoath
SINGLE MUSIC now has over 2,000 artists and labels currently signed up for their service including Juice WRLD, Harry Styles, LAUV, Tim McGraw and HAIM. Combined clients have delivered over 1,000,000 digital albums including 11 #1 charting records. They have also aligned themselves with many top merchandising companies such as Live Nation Merch, Absolute Merch, The Hyv, Wallflower Merch and Futureshirts.
SINGLE MUSIC was created by Stalknecht to provide an easy way for artists and labels to sell their merch and music directly to fans while keeping a larger portion of revenues.
