DMX)”, the latest single from multi-platinum, chart-topping hard rock powerhouse FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH has hit the #1 spot at Billboard’s Mainstream Rock radio chart, notably landing the Las Vegas-based band their 11th straight #1 hit on the chart. This extends the band’s 2023 record of holding the longest streak of #1’s in the chart’s history. “This Is the Way” is the first #1 on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart for legendary late rapper DMX and his very first appearance on the chart altogether. ABOUT KASSI ASHTON

With a little bit of rock, a hell of a lot of soul, and a throwback R&B groove, Kassi Ashton has crash landed on country radio. “Dates In Pickup Trucks,” her irresistible debut radio single dropped in February, on the eve of her own 28th birthday. “It feels powerful,” she says of the moment’s alignment. Speaking about the song’s playfulness, she adds, “I want it to show that there are many sides to me.”

The release marks the critical next step for the buzzy young singer. Named to Ones to Watch lists by publications like Huffington Post and The Tennessean as well as juggernaut radio personality Bobby Bones, Ashton spent 2019 as one of the openers on Maren Morris’s GIRL World Tour. In 2018, she was featured on Keith Urban’s CMA Album of the Year-nominated LP, Graffiti U.

The simmering new song, it turns out, has a surprising origin story: an uncharacteristically giddy phone call between Ashton and her grandmother. One of nine children and known for her take-no-prisoners attitude, the singer was shocked when, one day, her elder fell into a fit of giggles on the other end of the line. “She’s like, ‘Me and your grandpa went on a date last night,’” Ashton recalls. “‘I made dinner, we packed it up in the truck, and we drove around all the roads we hadn’t seen in a long time.’”

Ashton got to thinking about the nights she stepped out under the stars in her own pickup, back in her one-stoplight hometown of California, Missouri. (“You can gravel road for hours, where I come from” she quips.) Ashton brought the idea into a co-writing session with Luke Laird, who, while having served as the pen behind massive hits by Thomas Rhett, Eric Church, and Carrie Underwood, is also, as Ashton explains affectionately, the “other half of my creative brain,” and David Garcia. Initially, her collaborators both balked at what they considered a kitschy title. “They’re like, ‘This is not the girl I know!’” Ashton says, laughing.

ABOUT DILLON CARMICHAEL

Hailed by Rolling Stone as “country music’s most convincing young star since Stapleton,” Dillon Carmichael isn’t just an artist; he’s a force of nature. Born and raised in Burgin, Kentucky, the 6’4” troubadour first rose to fame in 2018 on the strength of his critically acclaimed Riser House debut, the Dave Cobb-produced Hell On An Angel, which prompted NPR to praise his “deep holler” and the New York Times to declare that his voice moves “with the heft and certainty of a tractor-trailer.” Dates with everyone from Lynyrd Skynyrd and Trace Adkins to Dwight Yoakam and Justin Moore followed, as did festival appearances from Faster Horses to Tortuga and Artist To Watch nods from the likes of Billboard, Rolling Stone, Pandora, and more. Carmichael followed it up in 2021 with Son Of A, another neo-traditional gem that’s racked up more than 13 million streams across platforms (Carmichael’s catalog boasts more than 140 million streams collectively) and yielded similarly glowing reviews for its feel-good mix of wry humor and raw heart. After debuting as the #1 most-added single at country radio, the album’s title track is already well on its way to a million plays on YouTube as it continues to climb the singles charts. Carmichael remains busy as ever on the road in 2022, headlining his ‘Son Of A’ Tour and opening for the likes of Brooks & Dunn, Cody Johnson, Brothers Osborne, and more.

ABOUT WYNN WILLIAMS

Neotraditional country artist Wynn Williams has all the credentials any country artist would be proud to possess. The former rodeo cowboy combines the honky-tonk attitude of Brooks & Dunn and the crooning style of Strait, with the excitement of Garth. Upon graduation from Texas A&M University in 2016, the young man from Weatherford, TX rode straight into a career as a full-time artist in small bars and restaurants across Texas, at the time promoting his six song “Words Fly” EP while developing himself creatively and artistically, at the same time soaking up everything he needed to know to be successful in a quickly changing, tough music business. His sophomore project, a self-titled fourteen track album released in 2020, busted the doors open for Wynn as he toured the region, crossing state-lines and time zones playing his breakout song “Tornado” for fans begging for the traditional sound.

All while touring from show-to-show, Wynn spent the weeks in-between writing new songs and preparing for the next studio session. Garnering traction over the next two years with the release of several singles, he prepared for the release of the Your Love EP including single ‘All Over Me” earning him a tip of the hat from Billboard in 2023, as well as a music video debut on CMT for lead single from the project, “Like the Wind.” Reminiscent of late 90s, early 00s country, Wynn’s style leans into the fans that have been yearning for the sound of steel and fiddle to play the music again. While amassing over 12M global streams, Wynn has gone on to headline across the U.S. and Europe where he continues to grow and gear up for more exciting projects to come in 2024. Global Mongolian rock phenomenon THE HU today (June 7) bring forth their riveting live album, THE HU LIVE AT GLASTONBURY, recorded at their groundbreaking debut performance at the legendary Glastonbury festival in Somerset, UK in 2023 in front of over 210,000 festival goers and streamed a record-breaking 50.3 million times across the UK and Europe via BBC iPlayer and BBC Sounds.

ABOUT JONATHAN KARRANT

Jonathan Karrant was born in the heart of America at the foothills of the Ozarks in the old western town of Fort Smith, Arkansas east of the Arkansas River. The joyous home in which Jonathan grew up was filled with art, music, and dance. Jonathan sang for hours every day, honing-in on his own type of music and style. When he was seven, he began singing publicly. His first solo was at his church with Nancy Vernon, musical director and organist, directing and accompanying him. Then, that summer in Eureka Springs, he walked into a nightclub, made his way to the stage, and asked the band to accompany him while he sang “Stormy Monday.” The band agreed, and he was a big hit with the audience, as well as with the band.

Jonathan began to take every opportunity to sing and perform at all kinds of events, weddings, celebrations, at church, in clubs and lounges, wherever he was asked to perform. After performing as a soloist with the Don Bailey Jazz Concerts, he was advised to strike-out to Las Vegas. Without ever having visited there, he drove across the country and jumped into the music scene, singing in supper clubs and lounges and casinos. While there, he had the opportunity to record with Vince Falcone, noted music director and pianist. And, in San Diego, he began performing in some of the most respected venues of that city. He has traveled for performances across the states as well as in Europe. He continues to grow an adoring and loyal following of fans who appreciate his artistry.

Audiences have characterized Jonathan as a great interpreter of song, a storyteller, a singer who brings music and lyrics alive. Some refer to Jonathan as an amazing song-stylist who sings from the American songbook, an entertainer of star quality. Others say he paints a picture, he presents a mood and captivates a room through song. Jazz Corner said “Karrant’s voice is romantic without being cloying, warm but not forced” and “that he sings standards with an emotional weight that make it seem as if he had written the songs himself”. He will tell you that he loves people, loves connecting with other musicians and with his audience, and loves sharing time with those who also love to celebrate life and music.

Jonathan’s album “On and On” hit number four in the jazz charts. The album features such songs as “Don’t Let Me Be Lonely Tonight” and “Doodlin’,” as well as the title track, and was produced by Tyler Monks, with pianist Josh Nelson, bassist Rob Thorsen, guitarist Mark Shapiro, and drummer Duncan Moore.

Jonathan was honored in the 2014 New York City Jazz Cabaret Honors and, in 2015, he was voted “Best Singer” for the Bravo San Diego Awards. Also, in 2015 Jonathan was asked to present two-time Grammy Award winner, Diane Schuur, with the proclamation of “Diane Schuur Day” in Palm Springs, Ca. In his popular single, “Lady in Red”, Jonathan truly shines. Backed by pianist Mikan Zlatkovich, bassist Bob Magnusson and drummer Duncan Moore, Karrant sets himself apart from other contemporaries on this single. Ultimately, he displays brilliance through phrasing and languid passages that linger.

ABOUT DAVE TULL

Dave Tull has long been known as one of the world’s finest jazz drummers and has also built a reputation as a premiere jazz singer and songwriter. Dave Tull’s latest release, “Texting and Driving” was the #2 most requested new album of 2018 on SiriusXM Real Jazz and was featured by NPR’s Susan Stamberg on Weekend Edition. Singing from the drums, Dave brings to the stage a rare combination of joyous songwriting, world-class jazz singing and drumming. Think “Frishberg meets Gershwin”. Dave’s songs have been called both “laugh out loud funny” and inspiring of “soul searching and introspection”, propelling “Texting and Driving” to #5 on the Billboard Jazz Chart, and #3 on the Billboard Comedy Chart in the same week, and 23 weeks on the JazzWeek chart! ABOUT ANNIE HÄGG

Annie is an actress and singer from New York City. A graduate of Yale School of Drama, she has appeared extensively on both stage and screen, and is best known on television for playing Holocaust survivor Ruth Heidelbaum opposite Al Pacino in the Amazon series “Hunters”—a role for which she shaved her head and learned Polish. On stage, Annie has played roles ranging from the heroines of Shakespeare, Chekhov, and Ibsen to such iconic women as Cleopatra and Marilyn Monroe. Frequently cast as femme fatales, spies and whores, she excels as the comedienne and brings all of these personae into her frequent gigs as a downtown jazz singer. Specializing in the American songbook and singing a wide range of repertoire in Spanish, French, German, Italian and Portuguese, Annie—along with her band “The High Kicks”—has established herself as a fixture of the New York City jazz scene.

On stage, Annie is currently in rehearsals for Uncle Stan in Berlin, the latest brainchild of renowned Russian auteur theatre director Dmitry Krymov, with whom she frequently collaborates. Previously, Annie starred in Krymov’s productions Three Love Stories by the Railroad (La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club), Chaplin and Mikhoels (New York Theatre Workshop) and The Square Root of Three Sisters (International Festival of Arts and Ideas). Other stage credits include Dancing at Lughansa (Irish Repertory Theatre), The Caucasian Chalk Circle, Indecent, The Fairytale Lives of Russian Girls and Owners (Yale Repertory Theatre), Staging Wittgenstein (Edinburgh Fringe Festival) and Boeing-Boeing (New Harmony Theatre). Up next, Annie will play Marilyn Monroe in a one-woman show called Love is Blonde written by Argia Coppola, based on the novel Blonde by Joyce Carol Oates.

On television, Annie will next appear in a recurring role opposite Aubrey Plaza in the upcoming series “Olga Dies Dreaming.” Other television credits include the upcoming “Daredevil: Born Again” series opposite Charlie Cox, “Pose,” “The Blacklist,” “Blue Bloods,” “FBI: Most Wanted,” “Law & Order: SVU” and the aforementioned “Hunters.” Her film credits include Tomorrow (with Stephen Fry), A Place We Go To, Prepartum, So Good to See You, Symposium and The River, among others.

Annie has an extraordinary gift for languages and has performed in Swedish, German, French, Spanish, Russian, Ukrainian, Polish, and Yiddish and with a broad range of British and Irish accents. In addition to an MFA in Acting from Yale, she holds a BA in International History from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

The 80’s New Wave tour TOTALLY TUBULAR FESTIVAL kicks off Tuesday, June 25 in Seattle, WA and the tour organizers have announced a line-up change: “You can’t have a Totally Tubular Festival without The Tubes, so we’ve just added the iconic band from San Francisco to the lineup.”

The rock band known for their “She’s a Beauty” smash hit will join the tour starting with the kickoff show on Tuesday, June 25 in Seattle, WA and performing through the July 14 date in Washington, DC. Meanwhile, previously announced English new wave band WANG CHUNG will perform at additional tour dates. Their run will begin Tuesday, July 16 in Bridgeport, CT and last through Sunday, July 28 in Cleveland, OH. Get tickets here: totallytubularfestival.com.

ABOUT MATT FARRIS

With an unparalleled passion for country music, it comes as no surprise that Laminate Entertainment artist Matt Farris’s career has gotten off to a promising start. A heart for helping those in need paired with an incredible talent and positive energy has allowed for the early and natural growth of a significant fan base. All these characteristics have given Farris a strong foundation on which to build his career – one that, at the hands of another, was almost instantaneously taken away.

Entertaining family and friends from the moment he spoke his first word, Farris’s passion for entertainment has always been apparent. With an early exchange of lullabies for classic country tunes sung by his mother Sandra, the Lake Havasu City, Arizona native has ever since gravitated toward the genre.

After graduating high school, Farris moved to Flagstaff to attend Northern Arizona University and later to Phoenix where he became an emergency medical technician and certified fire fighter through The Glendale Community College Fire Academy – all the while continuing to work on his music. His plight for country music stardom, however, nearly came to a tragic end when an altercation with two strangers trying to steal his father’s truck left both Farris and his father shot. “There were a few men looking to steal my dad’s truck. We tried to stop them… At one point, one of the men pulled out a gun and shot. My dad stepped in front of me, and the bullet went through him and into me. We were both extremely fortunate our injuries weren’t more serious.”

The incident put the importance of family and music into perspective for Farris, who formed a band with his father and grandfather – both musicians themselves. Eager to get back to his music, Farris began playing out around Phoenix, continuing to build his career and fan base. In 2010, he surprised the band by entering the Colgate Country Showdown, making it into the Arizona State Finals. Encouraged by his success, Farris made the move to Nashville to further his career in 2010.

In late 2011, Farris came to the attention of Skytone Entertainment owner and veteran producer Frank Green. His first single, Redneck Radio, saw placement in both the Billboard Indicator (peak #56) and Music Row (peak #38) charts, as well as holding a position at #1 on the Indie World Country chart four weeks in a row in 2012 going into 2013. His 2nd single, Resident Redneck, continued to ascend the charts and was nominated for industry trade New Music Weekly’s New Music Country Single of the Year Award. Radio and industry trades aren’t the only ones that have taken notice – on February 1st, 2014, the cast of Country Music Television’s (CMT) My Big Redneck Family sported Matt Farris shirts on an all-new episode. Releasing “She’s Done ” saw huge chart success as well followed by “Me or The Whiskey” which climbed fast and gave Farris serious opportunities opening for major artists.

Farris continues to play live as much as possible reaching close to 300 shows a year , sharing the stage with Trace Adkins, Easton Corbin, Trailer Choir, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Lonestar, Dwight Yoakam, Darryl Worley, Trent Tomlinson, Adam Gregory, Keith Anderson, Colt Ford, Jason Aldean, Tyler Farr, Joe Diffie, Gord Bamford, Blake Shelton, Jerrod Neimann, Chris Janson, Brett Eldredge, Chris Young, Cassadee Pope, Jake Owen, and many more. Despite a full schedule, Farris still finds time to give back, supporting both the Make a Wish Foundation, Dreams and Wishes Tennessee and the American Cancer Society focusing on Breast Cancer Awareness. After losing friend Denise to the disease, he started Denise’s Day – an annual benefit in his hometown of Lake Havasu City, AZ in which he and his hometown has now raised well over $100,000 for families fighting the ultimate fight.

Raised in Corvallis, Oregon, Jackson Michelson kicked off his country career on the West Coast, carving out a sound that blended the rootsy twang of the American South with the sunny, feel-good spirit of the Pacific Coast. Nashville — the official capital of country music — lay 2,300 miles to the southeast, but Michelson focused on his home turf first, building an audience of West Coast fans who were drawn to his high-energy shows and relatable songwriting. By the time he did move to Nashville, he’d already spent years on the road, growing his fan base show-by-show and earning a record contract with Curb Records in the process.

It’s been a wild ride for the man who grew up in the “Grass Seed Capital of the World,” listening to the diverse sounds of his mother’s favorite country songs and his dad’s soul records.

Once his older brother landed a record deal as a Christian artist, though, Michelson found himself with a different sort of summertime gig: selling t-shirts and CDs at his sibling’s gigs. Touring the country at a young age lit a fire inside Michelson, who began playing in bands back at home. He started writing original music, too, drawing on his own experiences to create songs that balanced high-energy hooks with good-natured, real-world storylines. It was music shaped by what he listened to and where he came from.

Songs like “The Good Life,” which has since become a popular track on SiriusXM radio, helped spread Michelson’s music to new fans across the country. Most of the grunt work, though, was done on the road, where Michelson delivered more than 100 shows per year. He opened for artists like Lee Brice, Blake Shelton, and Frankie Ballard, earning new fans along the way. To him, those fans were everything. They were his muse, his support system, his champions. Crowd interaction became a crucial part of every Jackson Michelson show, and he always ended each gig the same way: by meeting fans, shaking hands, and becoming friends with those who enjoyed his music.

Now, with a record deal under his belt, Michelson is prepping for the next phase of his career. There are new shows to play, new songs to write, and new opportunities to explore. But he’s still the boy from Corvallis, happy to sing about “The Good Life” — a life he’s built himself, show by show and song by song — to an audience that continues to grow.
