Alt-rock outfit FINISH TICKET have released a stripped-down cover of the timeless holiday favorite “White Christmas,” arriving just in time to set the perfect mood for the holiday season. FINISH TICKET’s 2014 debut album Tears You Apart (Atlantic Records) saw the band make their debut late-night TV performance on “Late Night With Conan O’Brien” alongside a wave of sold-out shows across the Bay Area. In 2019, they self-released the hit track “Dream Song,” which garnered over 4.1 million streams, and embarked on a successful headlining tour, selling out multiple venues across the country before COVID pandemic put a halt to live events. FINISH TICKET spent the next three years writing and recording Echo Afternoon, signing to Better Noise Music and continuing to perform across the U.S. including festival appearances at Lollapalooza and Innings Fest.

Alt rock group FINISH TICKET are excited to release their second full-length album ECHO AFTERNOON today, September 6, via Better Noise Music. Co-produced by the band alongside Jim Kaufman (Atlas Genius, Helmet, Danny Worsnop) and Michael Coleman (Chappell Roan, Sure Sure, Em Beihold), ECHO AFTERNOON’s 12 tracks show the band at their most vulnerable as they take listeners on an emotional roller coaster narrating the struggles and anxiety of being stuck in limbo while trying to find an escape to a brighter future. The band have shared four tracks from the album–“Changing,” “Let You Go,” “Float Away,” and “Peace of Mind”– all of which underline their melodic flair, engagingly upbeat rhythms, and vocalist Brendan Hoye’s wide-ranging vocals.

FINISH TICKET have shared a new music video for “Bad Times,” a song which inspires hope in finding happiness and love after overcoming past failed relationships and dark times. The band recently encountered some “bad times” of their own after their tour van died while they were en route for the first night of their tour with Nico Vega in July. Hoye was able to overcome the hiccup and hitch a ride with Nico Vega and complete the tour solo with just an acoustic guitar. Bay Area staple alt rock group FINISH TICKET share a third listen to new music from their upcoming sophomore album ECHO AFTERNOON–due September 6 via Better Noise Music—with the dreamy and melodic track “Peace of Mind.” The song, out digitally Friday, August 5, was written about humanities never-ending quest to find ‘peace of mind’ as its lyrics relay: ‘Another life, another day; You’ll find peace of mind.’

Bay Area staple alt rock group FINISH TICKET share their alluring new track “Float Away” today, Friday, June 28, across digital platforms. With a strong rhythmic pulse, trebly guitar lines, dreamy synths, and an irresistible melody, it’s featured on their much-anticipated sophomore album ECHO AFTERNOON (due September 6 via Better Noise Music).

“Float Away” was written by vocalist Brendan Hoye during a period of writer’s block he experienced during the COVID pandemic. “With life on pause around the world, it felt impossible to draw inspiration from anything,” shares Hoye. “Nothing was thrilling during lockdown, but everyone was searching for hobbies, watching tv shows, and making bread. I thought about how these were fun distractions, but I never felt like I was escaping the mundaneness of my reality. I thought harder about what had recently been providing me with that escape and decided I would write the most embarrassing song I’d ever written, but that it would never see the light of day.”

“Fast forward a few months and I showed the band the song thinking it would be a good laugh,” Hoye recalls. “Unfortunately, to my horror, they loved it and insisted it be on the record. It’s a song that saved me as a writer, a song that makes me cringe when I remember that my grandma listens to my music, a song that feels right at home in our live show, and a song about giving.”

The track’s introspective lyrics—“I just want to go where the world can’t get to me / I just want to be alone / Living in my mind with my body far behind / I just want to let you know that I’ll let you go”—are lightened with dreamy soundscapes. “‘Let You Go’ is about reaching a breaking point and fantasizing about leaving the stress of reality behind,” says vocalist Brendan Hoye. “The song was initially started when our record label at the time had us stuck in a state of limbo, but more specifically is about the freeing thought of leaving music behind when it causes you more frustration than happiness.”

After spending the past three years writing and recording their second full-length album (title TBA), FINISH TICKET signed a record deal with Better Noise Music. Today (July 21), they’ve released the first new music with the single, “Changing,” marked by an irresistible melody, nostalgic guitar riffs and affecting self-questioning lyrics. For the intimate sing-along styled lyric video, the trio—Brendan Hoye (vocals), Alex DiDonato (guitar), and Gabe Stein (drums)—took a full-sized bed out to one of their favorite beaches at Point Dume in Malibu, CA. “This song is about the fear of aging and feeling that you haven’t accomplished as much as you thought you would by now,” the band explain. “By letting those pressures get to you, you lose sight of why you chose this path and start making decisions from a place of desperation and not for the love of what you do. Pair that frantic disappointment with a pressing drum beat and nostalgic guitar riffs, alongside a languid halftime outro, and you’ve got ‘Changing.’”

FINISH TICKET toured earlier this spring across the West Coast with Canadian rockers The Beaches. The trio then kicked off a full U.S. run in early July with Arrows in Action and Honey Revenge which stretches through August 11, during which the band will bring their passionate and heartfelt live show to Lollapalooza in Chicago on August 3 alongside headliners Billie Eilish and Karol G.
