ANTHRAX have today (August 7) released the latest single and video, “Everybody’s Got A Plan,” from their long-awaited 12^th full-length studio album CURSUM PERFICIO out September 18 via Megaforce Records.

The new video was mostly filmed on July 7 in Lisbon, Portugal when the multi-GRAMMY® Award-nominated New York hard rock titans—Scott Ian (guitar), Charlie Benante (drums), Frank Bello (bass), Joey Belladonna (vocals), and Jonathan Donais (guitar)—toured with Iron Maiden in Europe. It features live performance footage and behind the scenes backstage fun with cutaways to classic B&W boxing footage that underline the song’s central lyrics: “Everybody’s got a plan/That’s until they get punched in the face…” Watch the video and listen to the incendiary song, with its massive riffs and ferocious vocals, HERE.

“‘Everybody’s Got a Plan’ has always been one of my favorite songs on Cursum Perficio,” Benante says. “The video basically shows the band on and off stage in a montage of video clips that kinda matches the velocity of the song. ‘Everybody’s got a plan/That’s until they get punched in the face’ is such a great line, and so true!”

“Most of this video was shot opening for [Iron] Maiden in Lisbon, Portugal at Estádio da Lu on July 7, 2026,” Ian notes. “We wanted to capture us having fun on tour and what better way to do that? That was a plan that didn’t end up with a punch in the face! Have fun watching my friends!”

Bello adds, “This video is a great representation of a day in the life of Anthrax on tour.”

ANTHRAX have previously released two singles and videos from CURSUM PERFICIO: “It’s For The Kids” a classic ANTHRAX ripper locked and loaded with buzzsaw-sharp riffs, explosive drumming, and a howling and head-banging hook. Meanwhile, the group recently announced they were rolling out uniquely animated short clips based on the album cover, with the first clip shared July 28. The worked with artist Mark Stritzel for the striking cover and the animation was done by Emmanuel Cappellini. The band dove into recording CURSUM PERFICIO in earnest during 2022, working out of Dave Grohl’s Studio 606 in Los Angeles. They carefully pieced together what would be this magnum opus, mining their history with reverence, delivering on fan expectations tenfold, and broadening the scope of their signature sound. Produced by Jay Ruston and ANTHRAX, the result is an album that’s as angry, aggressive, and alive as their most celebrated fare.

Originally from Kansas City and now based in Las Vegas, HEATHER ANNE LOMAX has spent the past decade building her own path across Americana, Country-Rock, Blues, and Rock & Roll. She has earned international radio play and shared stages with artists including Wynonna Judd & The Big Noise, Lee Ann Womack, Blake Shelton, Kenny Rogers, Jeff Bridges, John Hiatt, Richie Furay, Don McLean, Judy Collins, The Marshall Tucker Band, Joan Osborne, Melanie, and Blood, Sweat & Tears.

At the heart of Lomax’s music is honesty and connection. She describes her songs as “a vehicle of catharsis”—a way for people to feel, heal, and connect through music. Her own life story has also shaped her artistry. Adopted at birth, Lomax spent years searching for her biological family and discovered a history filled with music and creativity. Her family connections include legendary music historian Alan Lomax, while her mother was a musician and visual artist and her grandmother performed on Broadway. After discovering her roots, she reclaimed her birth name— Heather Anne Lomax–-embracing the identity and musical heritage that had always been part of her.

Her musical journey began in Kansas City and the Ozarks of Missouri, where she developed her guitar playing and love of songwriting while being surrounded by gospel, country, and roots music traditions. Artists including Linda Ronstadt, Emmylou Harris, Elvis Presley, Hozier, and Maria McKee continue to inspire her mix of classic sounds and modern storytelling.

Her 2020 album All This Time received praise from Glide Magazine, American Songwriter, The Bluegrass Situation, and Music Connection. Her previous album Heavy Load, released under her adopted name Michael-Ann, was named one of the Top 10 Americana records from Los Angeles and earned Robert Oermann’s “DisCovery of the Week” award in Music Row Magazine.

WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE “captures raw emotion, vintage energy, and a deeply personal journey,” as described by Blues Magazine (2026). It was recorded live at Love Street Studios in Los Angeles. The album captures the raw energy and spontaneity of classic 1970s recordings. Rather than chasing perfection, the sessions prioritized feel, chemistry, and performance, resulting in a record that crackles with authenticity and heart. It was produced by Zachary Ross (Rose’s Pawn Shop), mixed by Jason Hiller (The Freewheelers), mastered by acclaimed engineer Maor Appelbaum (Faith No More, YES, Halford, Def Leppard), and features an extraordinary cast of musicians. Among the contributors are bassist and mixer Jason Hiller; drummers Rob Humphries (Kacey Musgraves, Leonard Cohen, Jason Mraz), Jordan West (Grace Potter), David Goodstein (Jackson Browne, Dolly Parton), and Jamie Douglas (Shooter Jennings, Samantha Fish); keyboardists Ty Bailie (Katy Perry, Tanya Tucker), Jerry Borge (Ziggy Marley), and Carey Frank (Bruce Springsteen, Tedeschi Trucks Band); along with guitarist Zachary Ross and Lomax herself. In anticipation of the September 18 release of their long-awaited 12^th full-length studio album CURSUM PERFICIO via Megaforce Records, ANTHRAX are rolling out uniquely animated short clips based on the album cover, with the first clip shared yesterday (July 28). The multi-GRAMMY® Award-nominated New York hard rock titans—Scott Ian (guitar), Charlie Benante (drums), Frank Bello (bass), Joey Belladonna (vocals), and Jonathan Donais (guitar)—worked with artist Mark Stritzel for the striking cover and the animation was done by Emmanuel Cappellini. Mark initially worked with the band’s Charlie Benante on the characters featured on the album cover. Watch the first clip HERE and listen to the story HERE.

“When Tim Burton released ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas,’ they did this whole ad campaign, Meet the Characters, Meet Jack, Meet Sally, and they gave a little description about them,” Benante explains. “This is what inspired the idea to release these stories about the characters. When we came up with the art for the cover, we felt the characters needed to have a backstory and not just be an image on an album cover. For the magician, initially he was meant to be the younger version of Among The Living character—The Preacher (Among The Living was the band’s 1987 album). He could have been a magician when he was younger and he is really sadistic. For the bride (Clara) and Dog, we wanted to make something that was another door into the cover and get a glimpse of who these characters are.”

Every Tuesday, the group is unveiling the individual stories of each character featured on the album. Beyond the Magician’s story, subsequent weeks will reveal more about the Woman In White, Dog, Winged Skeleton, and concluding September 1 with Hands.

On his lead single, “Old Songs and Old Trucks” Mark is a confiding storyteller, embracing sweet nostalgia behind the wheel of a S-10 Chevy truck. Memories echo in the bittersweet “Things You Say,” a song that Mark explains onstage as: “A song about taking stock of your whole life and all the decisions you’ve made along the way.” Charged with adrenaline, “Get Away” is a full throttle riff-driven road burner. “Crash” is narrated with sly undertones, in the words, “You weren’t after my money/But you knew I had plenty to bail you out.” The spooky “Crazy About the Moonlight” is ignited by thunderous rock intensity, while “Let Her Fly,” is aloft with acceptance. Looking Back On The Wang Chung Video Controversy

I was very happy to see former PR clients Wang Chung—Jack Hues and Nick Feldman—in fine form last night at Resorts World in Las Vegas on the “Things Can Only Get Better” ‘80s tour headlined by Howard Jones.

Back in the day, I milked the controversy surrounding the video for their 1986-1987 smash “Everybody Have Fun “Tonight” for all it was worth. It all started when the BBC refused to air the video in the band’s native UK “after a medical adviser to its screening committee warned that the rapid flashing and strobe-like editing could trigger seizures in people with photosensitive epilepsy.”

Quickly taking advantage of this, I wrote a press release and landed key coverage on Good Morning America and in the Los Angeles Times. Responding to the BBC’s claim that the video contained “too many frames per second,” Nick Feldman told the newspaper: “It’s absolutely ludicrous. I mean, they told Mozart his music had too many notes, and look what it did for his career.”
