Active rock heavyweights NOTHING MORE mark the release of their new album CARNAL via Better Noise Music today (June 28) by landing their second-ever #1 single on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay charts with “IF IT DOESN’T HURT.” It follows the band’s debut #1 single, 2017’s “Go To War,” which recently became RIAA Gold-Certified and received two Grammy Award nominations (“Best Rock Song” and “Best Rock Performance”).

The 3x Grammy-nominated band—Jonny Hawkins (vocals), Mark Vollelunga (guitar), Daniel Oliver (bass), and Ben Anderson (drums)—have today also shared a compelling and ferocious music video for the album track “STUCK” featuring rapper Sinizter. Watch it now on YouTube HERE or streaming below.

CARNAL also features two previously released singles: the emotionally charged “ANGEL SONG” (featuring iconic rock vocalist / singer-songwriter David Draiman of the 5x Platinum certified group Disturbed) and the defiant “HOUSE ON SAND” (featuring I Prevail vocalist Eric Vanlerberghe).

Recorded with Grammy-nominated producer WZRD BLD (Disturbed, Motionless In White, A Day To Remember), CARNAL unites NOTHING MORE’s trademark introspective philosophical lyrics and unapologetically massive anthems with in-your-face rockers designed for an all-encompassing audience. Blabbermouth hails the album as “one of the band’s most eclectic releases to date.” CARNAL is out now via digital download, CD, vinyl, and cassette tape at https://nothingmore.ffm.to/carnal.

NOTHING MORE will host a special listening party tonight (June 28) in Nashville before taking their new album on the road across the U.S. this summer/fall, from August 31 to September 24, on the headlining “Carnal Tour 2024”. It features support from Set It Off, From Ashes To New, and Post Profit. NOTHING MORE will also perform a handful of dates as direct support to rock legends Godsmack (7/23-26, 10/17-26) and hit the stages at several top rock festivals including Rocklahoma, Louder Than Life, and Aftershock. The band were also announced earlier this week as headliners for 2025’s ShipRocked cruise. Find all upcoming dates and ticket information HERE.

ABOUT TENNESSEE JET

Long before Tennessee Jet began crisscrossing America as a one-man band, playing nightly shows full of fuzz guitar, primal percussion, and songs that split the difference between country and raw rock & roll, he traveled the interstates of Oklahoma with his bronc-riding father and barrel-racing mother. Sitting on the bench seat of an old Ford pickup truck pulling a horse trailer while heading to the next rodeo, he’d watch the grasslands of his home state fly past the windshield at highway speed. Country music was always on the radio back then, and those songs — honest, heartfelt classics by icons like Willie Nelson and Dwight Yoakam, both of whom he’d eventually join on tour — left a permanent mark. The Country, Tennessee Jet’s third album, nods to that childhood soundtrack. A salute to the sounds of his youth, these songs double down on Jet’s country and folk influences, without sacrificing the left-of-center approach that’s earned him a reputation as a genre bender. Honky-tonk ballads, twin fiddles, and country two-steps rub shoulders with a Nirvana-inspired rock song (“Johnny,” a tribute to 1950s legend Johnny Horton) and a bluegrass cover of the Black Crowes’ “She Talks to Angels.” The result is a richly textured album that’s both classic and modern in the same breath. This is raw, truthful country music — a reinvention of the sound that’s always formed the bedrock of Tennessee Jet’s artistry, even during his most amplified moments.

“My career has been a constant purging of what I’ve done before, so I can reinvent and create something that’s uniquely me,” says Jet, who kicked off his touring career by taking the stage alone, an electric guitar strapped across his chest and a drum set at his feet, accompanying himself with a one-man fuzz-filled wall of sound. It was an approach that owed as much to rock & roll’s distorted stomp as country music’s twang, and for Jet — an enthusiastic fan of Neil Young and Jack White, two forward-thinking rockers who, like Jet, refuse to be pigeonholed — the contrast between those genres was the whole point.

The Country marks the most collaborative project of Jet’s career. A songwriter, front man, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, he took a do-it-yourself approach to his 2015 debut and 2017’s Reata, both of which found Jet playing every instrument himself. The Country references those early years with songs like the autobiographical “Stray Dogs,” whose lyrics find a young Jet speeding down the Indian Nation Turnpike, his future wife riding shotgun, fueled by a combination of love, truck stop gasoline, and the need to make it to the next show on time. For an album that often pays homage to Jet’s DIY past, though, The Country also finds him teaming up with Dwight Yoakam’s touring band, whose members add Telecaster twang and Cali-country cool to Jet’s raw, ragged edges. Paul Cauthen, Cody Jinks, and Elizabeth Cook all lend a hand, too, duetting with Jet on their respective tracks while also teaming up for an all-hands-on-deck version of “Pancho and Lefty.” Additional guests include longtime Willie Nelson bandmate Mickey Raphael who lends harmonica as well as Lady Gaga bandleader Brian Newman on trumpet.

While The Country may be stocked with star power from the alt-country fringes, it’s Tennessee Jet who shines the brightest. A lifelong explorer who literally grew up on the road, he writes about love, loss, legends, and the pursuit of the muse in a voice that’s at once worldly and distinctly Oklahoman, peppering his lyrics with references to other literary heroes who, like him, shine at showcasing a sense of place: Faulkner, Shakespeare, Kerouac, and Woody Guthrie. Co-produced by the songwriter himself, The Country finds Tennessee Jet occupying his own sort of artistic crossroads, planting one boot in the nostalgic sounds of his past while pointing the other in a direction of his own making. This is his version of country music — a sound that, in Jet’s hands, becomes both fresh and familiar.

ABOUT GRAHAM BARHAM

Graham Barham, originally from the quiet Louisiana village of Oak Ridge with just 124 residents, brings a distinctive Southern charm to his music. His songs paint vivid pictures of small-town life—moss-draped ponds, pickup trucks, and winding country roads are recurring motifs woven into his soulful lyrics. Despite his rural upbringing, Barham’s music transcends geographical boundaries, resonating deeply with audiences far beyond his hometown.

At 24, Barham’s journey to musical prominence began early, inspired by legends like George Strait and fueled by a knack for crafting catchy melodies honed during his formative years. His path to Nashville saw him evolve from singing in church as a child to penning heartfelt tunes that blend the raw honesty of country with the immediacy of pop influences. His breakout single, “Preachers Need People,” released in 2022, catapulted him into viral fame, showcasing his ability to infuse everyday stories with profound emotional depth.

Raised on a farm by a farmer father and a schoolteacher mother, Barham’s music reflects his blue-collar roots and an innate understanding of life’s highs and lows. His move to Nashville at 18 marked a turning point, where he immersed himself in songwriting, collaborating across genres and refining his unique brand of country music—authentic, heartfelt, and rich with personal narrative.

Produced largely by Will Bundy, whose credits include Keith Urban and Jason Aldean, Barham’s debut album on Virgin Records promises a collection of songs that capture the complexities of life’s journey. Tracks like “BREAK IT IN A BAR” and “TWO BROKE HEARTS” showcase his emotive vocals and incisive storytelling, while “Beer By My Bed” delves into moments of introspection and regret with unflinching honesty.

Looking ahead, Barham remains committed to crafting music that resonates on a soul-deep level, offering listeners a cathartic experience through his lyrics. Whether reflecting on personal growth, relationships, or the joy of a night out, his songs invite listeners to connect with their own stories. With each performance, Graham Barham continues to define his place in the world of country music, driven by a passion for authenticity and a desire to touch hearts with every verse.

ROSS VALORY today (June 20) marks the summer solstice by rolling out a dazzling video for his interpretation of funk-rockers War’s classic cruising anthem “Low Rider.” It’s one of the highlights from the original Journey bassist and songwriter’s current debut solo album ALL OF THE ABOVE (OID Music). Watch the video HERE.

“Low Rider” is another visually colorful delight directed by Michael Cotten, who lensed the album’s three other videos. It was premiered yesterday by Ultimate Classic Rock.

Says ROSS: “Michael Cotten has done exceptional work on the videos for every song on the album. It may be obvious to all that he is greatly inspired by my music. Michael and I are naturally in sync. Michael hears what I see. He sees what I hear. And, likewise! “With the exception of a few strategic edits recommended on my part,” he adds, “Michael Cotten ran with the ball on this song from the beginning.”

Cotten outlines how he envisioned the video: “We could say that this visual treatment of the classic song is an homage to the great tradition of Mexican/American car culture. We wanted to heighten the brilliant baroque sensibility that Lowrider cars and bikes display!”

“Low Rider” gets a sturdy makeover as ROSS is joined by Josh Ramos of the Storm providing the proper Puerto Rican vocals. Hall of Famer Gregg Errico of Sly and the Family Stone handles drums, with additional percussion by Karl Perazzo from Carlos Santana’s band. Canadian reality TV star Les Stroud, the original “Survivorman,” an old friend of Valory’s, adds harmonica, and Marc Russo ties everything together on soprano sax, which by the end of the track, turns into a party. The other players lighting up “Low Rider” are Eric Levy (ogan, clavinet, synth) and guitarist Vernon “Ice” Black.

What was ROSS’ inspiration to cover “Low Rider”? “As I had just completed the basic tracks, in 2018, for the first cover tune, “Incident at Neshabur/Senior Blue,” I said to the boys that there was one more cool cover tune that I had always wanted to do. They all said, ‘let’s do it.’”

“I first arranged the session by inviting Greg Errico, who was the perfect drummer for the song,” ROSS continues. “Les ‘Survivorman’ Stroud, who recorded the harp, just happened to be passing through town. I brought in guitarist Josh Ramos, who has the perfect voice for this song, to cut the vocal tracks. The basic tracks were completed with Vernon ‘Ice’ Black, who brought the perfect touch for such a tune. The overdubs were completed by veterans Marc Russo, on saxes, and Karl Perazzo on percussion. The whole recording experience was fast and easy, as a song like ‘Low Rider’ should be!

“Low Rider” marks the fourth video and track from the debut album from one of rock’s best bass guitarists and an original member of the multi-platinum band Journey. It follows the album’s three previous videos which Cotten created for Tomland (the album’s hypnotic first single), Wild Kingdom (with its Latin-fired intensity), and Windmill” (defined by its Brazilian flair).

ALL OF THE ABOVE was produced by VALORY and co-produced by Eric Levy and Jacob Stowe. The nine tracks on the album represent the full maturity of VALORY’s musical gifts, cutting a broad swath through the instrumental territory the music travels. He plays keyboards, guitar, and, of course, many basses in a display of cultivated virtuosity across a palette far broader than could be found in his work with Journey. He is stepping out from behind his bass and, for the first time in his more than half-century as a professional musician, representing his vision and his compositions.

VALORY left Journey in 2020 and the band members worked out their issues in a peaceful mediated settlement. VALORY, who spent most of his life as a member of Journey, has no regrets. He counts his blessings at having spent an amazing career with a remarkable group of musicians who succeeded beyond their wildest dreams.

In honor of what would have been Chet Atkins’ 100th birthday today (June 20), Grammy® Award winner TOMMY EMMANUEL has released a newly shot video of “Mr. Guitar” (Live).” It’s a song that TOMMY wrote in honor of the legendary and influential guitar pioneer.

Watch the video, filmed at TOMMY’s home outside of Nashville, TN and directed by Joshua Britt & Neilson Hubbard for Neighborhoods Apart, HERE. It was premiered yesterday (June 19) by The Bluegrass Situation.

The original studio recording of “Mr. Guitar” appeared on Tommy Emmanuel’s 1997 collaborative album with Chet Atkins titled The Day Finger Pickers Took Over the World.

A live version the song, “Mr. Guitar (Live),” recorded in St. Louis, is featured as a live bonus track on TOMMY‘s album, Endless Road: 20th Anniversary Edition, released May 28, 2024.

There’s also a new version of “Mr. Guitar” that TOMMY recorded with Grammy-winning bluegrass fiddler Michael Cleveland. It appears on the multi-artist album WE STILL CAN’T SAY GOODBYE – A Musicians’ Tribute to Chet Atkins, released March 15, 2024.

TOMMY EMMANUEL is an acoustic guitarist extraordinaire, composer, and global touring artist. He is also one of five people ever named a C.G.P. (Certified Guitar Player) by Chet Atkins, the innovator, songwriter, producer, record company executive, and visionary.

“Mentoring and encouraging people is something that Chet always did,” TOMMY says. “I try to do this thing with Gareth (Pearson), and I try to do the same with all young people. I encourage them to do things that I learned from Chet. I hope that somewhere somehow, I showed somebody something because of him that changed their life and made their life better. Cause he sure did that for me.”

Read HERE for more about ENDLESS ROAD: 20TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION. Regarded as a landmark album within TOMMY’s body of work, Endless Road has now been newly remastered for digital outlets and is also available for the first time ever on vinyl.

TOMMY is also coming off a dynamic 2023. He released his acclaimed collaborations album ACCOMPLICE TWO to great acclaim and earned the “Lifetime Achievement” Award from The National GUITAR Museum.

Here are TOMMY’s North American tour dates for 2024. The full international list of dates is HERE.

ABOUT TOMMY EMMANUEL:

TOMMY EMMANUEL has achieved enough musical milestones to satisfy several lifetimes. At the age of six, the Grammy® Award winner was touring regional Australia with his family band. By 30, he was a rock n’ roll lead guitarist burning up stadiums in Europe. At 44, he became one of five people ever named a CPG (Certified Guitar Player) by his idol, music icon Chet Atkins. Today, he plays hundreds of sold-out shows every year from Nashville to Sydney to London. He’s piled up numerous accolades, including two Grammy Award nominationstwo ARIA Awards from the Australian Recording Industry Association (the Aussie equivalent of the Recording Academy); repeated honors in the Guitar Player magazine reader’s poll including a cover story for their August 2017 issue; a cover feature for Vintage Guitar’s July 2020 issue; and was Music Radar’s reader’s poll #1 winner of the Ten Best Acoustic Guitarists in The World (December 2019). A noted fingerstyle guitarist, EMMANUEL frequently threads three different parts simultaneously into his material, operating as a one-man band who handles the melody, the supporting chords and the bass all at once. His talents, which translate in any language, carry him to the far corners of the globe, but EMMANUEL never plays the same show twice, and he improvises big chunks of every date. That leaves him open to those technical imperfections, though they also provide some of the humanity to an other-worldly talent.

ABOUT MORNINGSTAR MUSIC PRODUCTIONS:

Morningstar Music Productions was created by executive producers and longtime great friends Rodger Glaspey and Ken Leister. The two partners performed in groups that recorded albums during the 70’s as collegians during the Folk/Rock invasion. Producer and musician Carl Jackson approached Rodger and Ken with the desire to produce an album to honor Chet Atkins. The temptation to executive produce an album in Nashville paying homage to Chet Atkins with some of the finest artists and guitar players in the world including Vince Gill, Tommy Emmanuel, Brad Paisley, and other greats was too captivating to pass up… and thus, Morningstar Music Productions was born, with their first album release We Still Can’t Say Good Bye—A Musicians’ Tribute To Chet Atkins released April 19.

The legendary-and-thriving LITTLE FEAT today (June 18) raise their glass to the “Milkman” with the newly released video for the opening track from their critically acclaimed, blues-focused album SAM’S PLACE (Hot Tomato Productions/MRI). You can feel the band’s joyous camaraderie in this mainly performance video filmed earlier this year at Studio Instrumental Rentals in Nashville. Watch “Milkman,” directed and edited by Michael Kessler, HERE.

The members of LITTLE FEAT 2024 are: Bill Payne, Keyboards and Vocals; Sam Clayton, Percussion and Vocals; Fred Tackett, Guitars and Vocals, Kenny Gradney, Bass; Scott Sharrard, Guitars and Vocals; and Tony Leone, drums and vocals. “Milkman” is an original LITTLE FEAT song written by Clayton (about his nephew), Tackett, and Sharrard. The deeply grooving track features Clayton on lead vocals, Payne on piano, Gradney on bass, Fred on electric guitar, Sharrard on slide guitar, and Leone on drums. In the video, premiered today at Glide Magazine, the band is joined by Steve Herrman on trumpet and Dana Robbins on saxophone. Interspersed throughout the video is archival footage of milkmen through the years.

LITTLE FEAT stopped into The GRAMMY Museum’s intimate 200-seat Clive Davis Theater on June 10 to celebrate the May 17 release of SAM’S PLACE. It’s their first new studio album in 12 years; first-ever blues album; and the first one to feature linchpin conga player Clayton on lead vocals on every song. The evening began with a lively conversation with moderator Scott Goldman (the museum’s artistic director) encompassing their career, creative process, and more. It was followed by a reliably rousing five-song performance from the band. Read Screamer Magazine’s account of the night HERE.

“Milkman” marks the fourth video from the album and follows these clips: You’ll Be Mine,” a cover of the Willie Dixon-written chestnut popularized by Howlin’ Wolf; Can’t Be Satisfied,” a rollicking interpretation of the classic Muddy Waters-written gem; and, most recently, “Long Distance Call,” another Muddy Waters song featuring a soulful duet with longtime friend Bonnie Raitt.

“I’ve always loved Little Feat and this new incarnation of the band is bringing some serious heat, cred and new blood to their enduring legacy,” said Raitt. “Every Feat fan loves us some Sam. I’m so glad he’s now gotten a chance to step out front and center and put his spin on these wonderful blues songs. I loved singing ‘Long Distance Call’ with him, always one of my favorites, and Scott slayed on slide. Know you’ll enjoy hanging out with us at Sam’s Place!”

LITTLE FEAT’s individual musical chops and collective chemistry light up the nine-track SAM’S PLACE, which was waxed at Sam Phillips Recording in Memphis, TN (August 2023), except for “Got My Mojo Working (Live),” recorded live at the Boulder Theatre in Boulder, CO (December 17, 2022). This is the first LITTLE FEAT album recorded with new members Sharrard and Leone. Read more about the album HERE.

LITTLE FEAT is busy this summer and fall on the road. From touring with the Tedeschi Trucks Band to headline shows with The Wood Brothers, Los Lobos, Marc Broussard, Duane Betts & Palmetto Motel, The Steel Wheels, and Rob Ickes & Trey Hensley, there will be plenty of chances to boogie with the band.

Here are LITTLE FEAT’s in-progress tour dates. For more information and ticket links, go HERE.

ABOUT LITTLE FEAT:

The members of Little Feat emerged from the pandemic with their sense of humor, chops, and collective joy in playing intact on their 2024 album Sam’s Place. Over the past three years, they’ve focused tours on their epic live album Waiting for Columbus and re-issues of some of their classic albums (Sailin’ Shoes, Dixie Chicken, and Waiting for Columbus). Audience response has been rapturous. The band builds on a deep, over 50-year history. Little Feat used a combination of elite musicianship and brilliant, idiosyncratic songwriting to create a repertoire that transcends all boundaries. California rock, funk, folk, jazz, country and rockabilly mixed with New Orleans swamp boogie led to a powerful sound that has kept the audience dancing for decades. Their groove – in songs like “Dixie Chicken,” “Spanish Moon,” “Fat Man in the Bathtub,” and “Feats Don’t Fail Me Now” is a continuous thread of excellence that embraces the qualities of exploration that make up Little Feat, its music, while honoring their brothers that began this journey decades ago: Lowell George, Richie Hayward, and Paul Barrere. Their legacy is honest and durable with no end in sight. It has always been about the songs and musicianship. They’re in top form now with Scott Sharrard on lead guitar/vox and Tony Leone on drums/vox, and with founder Bill Payne on keys/vox, Fred Tackett on guitars/vox, Kenny Gradney on bass, and Sam Clayton on percussion/vox.
