SOARS TO TOP OF BILLBOARD’S “MAINSTREAM ROCK AIRPLAY” CHART
WITH SECOND #1 FOR “HOLY WATER (FEAT. IVAN MOODY
OF FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH)”
THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT
CONFIRMED FOR ICE NINE KILLS’
“ICE NINE KILLS: HELL OF A SUMMER” TOUR

“It’s an attempt to put all of our anxious thoughts into one place,” explains singer and songwriter Lee Jennings of THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT about the inspiration for their newly released single “Evergreen.” Watch the video HERE and listen to the song HERE.

“Evergreen” is one of the three brand new songs featured on the deluxe edition of the red-hot emo-rooted band’s second album, the 24-track GREETINGS FROM SUFFOCATE CITY – FROM BEYOND THE ABYSS: DELUXE EDITION (the track listing is listed below). It’s out today (June 13) via Better Noise Music, with digital, CD, and vinyl (out June 27) copies available HERE.

“The song speaks to universal and painful truths—that love is the source of all suffering, and the bittersweet feelings that coincide with it,” elaborates Jennings. “The lyrics come from an extremely personal place and are set against a melancholy, stripped-back track that helps accent one of our most emotional hymns to date.”

THE FUNERAL PORTRAITLee Jennings (Vocals), Cody Weissinger (Guitar), Caleb Freihaut (Guitar/Auxiliary), Robert Weston (Bass), and Homer Umbanhowar— (Drums)—has “carved out a unique space in modern rock, blending theatrical energy with deeply personal storytelling” (Hard Rock Reviews, 5/27/25). With “Evergreen,” the Atlanta band is excitingly building on their radio success. They achieved the #1 spot last November on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay and Mediabase’s Active Rock radio charts with their smash single “Suffocate City (feat. Spencer Charnas of Ice Nine Kills).” They’re once again enjoying #1 success on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart with Holy Water,” which features guest vocals by Ivan Moody of Five Finger Death Punch; the song is also firmly planted in the Top Five on Mediabase’s Active Rock charts with Holy Water.”

The montage video for “Evergreen” illustrates THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT’s exciting success story. It’s been steadily growing since joining forces with Better Noise Music, known for its creative artist development, innovative cross-media strategies, and ability to build international success stories. The campaign for THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT began in August 2022, almost three years ago, with the release of “Voodoo Doll” when they were an opening band in 300-400 person venues (or smaller). Now they’re drawing the biggest crowds at the major festivals, touring all year with bands like Ice Nine Kills, and gearing up for a European tour this fall.

GREETINGS FROM SUFFOCATE CITY – FROM BEYOND THE ABYSS: DELUXE EDITION contains 24 songs including tracks from the CASSANOVA EP and the FROM BEYOND THE ABYSS EP, as well as the recently released versions of “Holy Water” feat. Ivan Moody of Five Finger Death Punch, Hearse for Twofeat. Lilith Czar and three brand new songs: Skinny Lies,” “Evergreen,” and “Lost Boy.” The vinyl and CD two-disc deluxe packages feature 21 tracks, one of which is exclusive to the physical formats (“Friends Like These”).

The album that was originally released September 13, 2024 via Better Noise Music, consists of 14 tracks of theatrical, dramatic, unapologetic, full-throated flair with guest appearances from Bert McCracken of The Used, Spencer Charnas of Ice Nine Kills, Danny Worsnop of Asking Alexandria, and Amanda Lyberg of Eva Under Fire.

THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT is committed to championing well-being within the music industry (and beyond). They’re proud to raise awareness of Music Support, the charity that helps anyone who works in the U.K. music industry experiencing substance use, addiction, and/or mental health challenges. They support all areas of the industry, whether on stage or behind the scenes. Music Support believes in arming people with the tools to prevent them from reaching crisis point, but if they do, they are at the end of the phone or via email, info which can be found on their website. Donations can also be made there.

Meanwhile, THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT and Z2 have consolidated the rich lore from GREETING FROM SUFFOCATE CITY into a one stop graphic companion for fans to be enthralled in. The Funeral Portrait Presents Welcome to Suffocate City tells the story of Irving Westhound, a man on a mission to save the youths of his town from the enigmatic leader of the Coffin Crew Cult. The 44-page oversized 12”x12” comic in a slipcased Deluxe Edition, which comes signed, with art prints, and a four-piece THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT card collector’s set in a frame. Deluxe editions are available exclusively at Z2’s website [HERE,] while a standard 9”x9” edition is available via Amazon, Barnes & Noble, as well as other independent retailers and fine comic shops worldwide.

In touring news, THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT recently wrapped up a U.S. month-long trek with Ice Nine Kills, and they’ve now been invited to be a part of the “ICE NINE KILLS: HELL OF A SUMMER TOUR” along with Dayseeker, Kim Dracula, and Mest. THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT will jump on the new trek starting August 10 in Waukee, IA. The Live Nation-produced tour will bring the bands to arenas and amphitheaters across the country. Tickets are available now via Ice Nine Killswebsite.

“If rock and roll is theater, then The Funeral Portrait are masterful storytellers,” praised

Deranged-Media.com (5/29/25) about the band’s live show. “The Funeral Portrait are more than a band—they’re a movement, and a stage for the emotions we often hide. Their live show is a cathartic, high-voltage blend of theater and therapy, wrapped in riffs and painted in passion. If you haven’t seen them yet, you’re missing one of the most genuine and electrifying performances in modern rock.”

THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT keep making serious waves. The emo rock revivalists achieved the #1 spot last November on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay and Mediabase’s Active Rock radio charts with their smash single “Suffocate City (feat. This song captures the tension, the regret, and the raw emotions that come with facing reality.”

In connection with the release of “Skinny Lies,” THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT is hosting a special giveaway for fans to win a trip to Atlanta for a “Hometown Rock Ritualconcert, with proceeds supporting The Trevor Project, the leading suicide prevention and crisis intervention nonprofit organization for LGBTQ young people. Emo rock revivalists THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT—Lee Jennings (Vocals), Cody Weissinger (Guitar), Caleb Freihaut (Guitar/Auxiliary), Robert Weston (Bass), and Homer Umbanhowar (Drums)—today (March 21) have unveiled the strikingly cinematic video for “Holy Water.” Watch THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT with Ivan Moody, lead singer of Five Finger Death Punch, in the video HERE and listen to the song HERE.

“Holy Water” features Moody’s powerful and distinctively rugged guest vocals and is taken from the deluxe edition of THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT’s critically acclaimed second album GREETINGS FROM SUFFOCATE CITY, out June 13 via Better Noise Music. “Holy Water” debuted at #21 on Billboard’s “Mainstream Rock Tracks” chart at #21 and is now positioned at #14.

“Holy Water” is brought to life in a gothic-style video directed by Michael Lombardi of Better Noise Films, an affiliate of Better Noise Music. The video’s narrative outlines the origin of how singer Lee Jennings got his power to ignite the souls of fans around the world. “We filmed Ivan Moody deep in the desert of Prescott, Arizona on top of a thousand-foot canyon,” says Lombardi. “We then had to shoot THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT on a day off between shows in Philadelphia and New York City. This created a challenge in finding the epic gothic-style church location I needed. After scouting several locations, I ended up finding a phenomenal old and abandoned church in the Poconos in Pennsylvania.”

“Filming the ‘Holy Water’ music video was an absolutely insane experience,” declares singer Lee Jennings. “The production was on another level—every detail, every shot, just completely unreal. Michael Lombardi brought a vision to this that was bigger than we ever imagined, turning it into a full-on cinematic experience. And having Ivan Moody be a part of it? That was next level. His energy and presence took everything to a whole new dimension. We can’t wait for everyone to see what we created—it’s dark, intense, and something truly special.”

Pre-orders for the digital, CD and vinyl copies of the deluxe edition of GREETINGS FROM SUFFOCATE CITY are available here. The digital deluxe collection will include 24 songs, including “Holy Water” feat. Ivan Moody, songs from the CASSANOVA EP and the FROM BEYOND THE ABYSS EP, as well as the recently released version of “Hearse for Two” feat. Lilith Czar and three brand new songs, “Skinny Lies,” “Evergreen,” and “Lost Boy.” The vinyl and CD two-disc deluxe packages feature 21 tracks, one of which is exclusive to the physical formats (“Friends Like These”).

‘Holy Water’ has always been one of the most personal and cathartic songs I’ve ever written,” explains THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT’s Lee Jennings. “It’s about confronting your darkest moments and finding the strength to cleanse yourself of the weight they carry. Seeing the connection it’s made with fans, especially during our live shows, has been beyond powerful—watching the crowd scream the lyrics back at us is proof that music really can heal. Having Ivan Moody join us on this track took it to another level. His energy, passion, and personal story made him the perfect voice to help tell this chapter, and we couldn’t be more honored to have him be part of it.”

“Before our tour together, I wasn’t too familiar with The Funeral Portrait’s music, so I didn’t know what to expect,” says Ivan Moody. “But after watching them night after night, seeing how they commanded the stage and connected with the crowd, I was absolutely hooked. The passion, intensity, and raw emotion they bring to their performances make them one of the most exciting new bands out there. And Lee’s voice? Absolutely incredible—one of my favorite new singers! We had talked about collaborating before the tour, but the timing never worked out. Then, while speeding down the highway, I heard ‘Holy Water’ on the radio and couldn’t help but sing along. What an amazing track! It immediately brought back the idea of working together, so I hit up Lee about the possibility of me redoing the song with them. Luckily, he was all in—and here we are….the rest is history.”

“Holy Water” was described by MetalPlanetMusic.com in a September 8, 2024 review as “a full-on arena anthem sound that hits straight between the ears. The beat is hard and uncompromising, with the dual guitar riffs forcing the emotion down your throat. The choral harmony during the bridge gives the track a ‘it’s our song, and we’re going to do what the fuck we want to’ vibe. It’s a real monster of a track.”

GREETINGS FROM SUFFOCATE CITY, released September 13, 2024 via Better Noise Music, consists of 14 tracks of theatrical, dramatic, unapologetic, full-throated flair with guest appearances from Bert McCracken of The Used, Spencer Charnas of Ice Nine Kills, Danny Worsnop of Asking Alexandria, and Amanda Lyberg of Eva Under Fire. Emo rock revivalists THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT—Lee Jennings (Vocals), Cody Weissinger (Guitar), Caleb Freihaut (Guitar/Auxiliary), Robert Weston (Bass), and Homer Umbanhowar (Drums)—have unveiled their latest single today (February 7), “Hearse For Two (feat. Lilith Czar).” Illuminating the themes of devastating loss and eternal love, the song has been released one week ahead of Valentine’s Day. The song is taken from their critically acclaimed second album, GREETINGS FROM SUFFOCATE CITY. Listen to the song HERE and watch the video HERE.

“‘Hearse for Two’ is one of the most personal and emotional songs we’ve ever written,” says singer Lee Jennings. “The track captures the intensity of love and loss, and having Lilith Czar join us on this journey brought an entirely new depth to the song. Her raw energy and powerful presence in both the recording and the music video perfectly complement the story we’re telling. We’re so proud to share this collaboration,” adds Jennings, “and hope it resonates deeply with everyone who watches and listens.”

Lilith Czar is thrilled to join THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT on the epic song, the final track on GREETINGS FROM SUFFOCATE CITY. “After speaking with Lee and learning the story behind ‘Hearse For Two,’ my heart ached for the depth of loss and love it carried, and I felt a profound responsibility to deliver my absolute best in the studio. I understand heartbreak and the kind of loss that leaves a void you’re not sure can ever be filled, so singing alongside THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT felt like a catharsis— a chance to channel that pain into something meaningful.”

Get a copy of GREETINGS FROM SUFFOCATE CITY on CD or digital download now at https://thefuneralportrait.ffm.to/gfsc.

Dubbed the Bloody Valentine Edition, this rare collector’s item will be available exclusively through the band’s official webstore at www.TheFuneralPortraitMerch.com.

The release will be accompanied by a special merchandise drop, offering The Coffin Crew additional collectibles to complement this unique vinyl. The launch is set for 12:00 AM EST on February 14th, making this a midnight event fans won’t want to miss.

“Holy Water” is the band’s latest single that’s blowing up the radio airwaves now, with MetalPlanetMusic.com describing the song as “a full-on arena anthem sound that hits straight between the ears.
