Details Revealed For OZZY OSBOURNE’S ‘Patient Number 9’ Album Theme Via Accompanying Todd McFarlane Comic Book

DATE: OCTOBER 20, 2022

FROM: MARCEE RONDAN/MITCH SCHNEIDER

DETAILS REVEALED FOR
OZZY OSBOURNE’S
‘PATIENT NUMBER 9’ ALBUM THEME
VIA ACCOMPANYING COMIC BOOK

To learn about what inspired the theme for OZZY OSBOURNE’s PATIENT NUMBER 9 album, look no further than the 26-page comic book available solely in some limited-edition album packages. Featuring a story by Todd McFarlane and illustrations by Jonathan Glapion (the beautiful haunting interior pages were painted by Glapion with a striking cover provided by McFarlane), the comic book was initially available only in record stores and online. The story tells how OSBOURNE is trapped in an asylum with no way out, he’s tortured by the doctors, abused by the patients, and hunted by a horrific creature born from his shattered mind. The comic book serves as the prequel to the McFarlane-directed video for the album’s first single and title track” Patient Number 9.” The Limited Edition CD + Comic Book bundle is now being sold at more than 600 comic book stores throughout North America (click here to find a local store).

PATIENT NUMBER 9–released September 9 and marking OZZY’s 13th solo studio album–triumphantly sets new career highs for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and Grammy®-winning singer and songwriter. The critically acclaimed album has topped his previous chart entries with record-breaking numbers around the world. In the U.S., the album debuted at #1 on multiple charts: Top Album Sales (Ozzy’s first #1 ever on this chart), Top Current Album Sales (another first), Top Rock & Alternative Albums, Top Rock Albums, Top Hard Rock Albums, Top Vinyl Albums and Tastemaker Albums charts; and at #3 on the Billboard Top 200 albums chart. Globally, the album charted at #1 in Canada (OZZY’s first-ever #1 there); career high #2 entries in the UK, Australia, Finland and Italy; #6 in the Netherlands and New Zealand; #8 in Belgium; and #14 France. Other highlights include #2 Austria, Germany and Sweden; #3 in Switzerland; and #4 in Norway.

Working with producer Andrew Watt for the second time, OZZY welcomed a dynamic A-list featured guests on the album. For the first time ever, Black Sabbath co-founder, guitarist, and riff-master Tony Iommi appears on an OZZY solo album. The record also boasts guitarists Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Mike McCready of Pearl Jam, and longstanding righthand man and six-string beast Zakk Wylde who plays on the majority of the tracks. For the bulk of the album, Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers held down drums, while the late Taylor Hawkins of Foo Fighters appears on three songs. Old friend and one-time OZZY band member Robert Trujillo of Metallica plays bass on most of the album’s tracks, with Duff McKagan of Guns N’ Roses and Chris Chaney supplying bass on a few songs.

Here’s some international critical feedback for PATIENT NUMBER 9. Click here to read more.

“Ozzy Osbourne Is a Bright Light on Star-Studded Album Patient Number 9…”
CONSEQUENCE, 9-9-22

“Patient Number 9 is fully a hard-rock and metal record…whether he gets back onstage or in a studio (and as his slowly improving health allows), this heavy-metal patient only sounds recharged…”
REVOLVER, 9-9-22

“Through it all, Osbourne sounds full of life…Patient Number 9 is a more focused work…there was speculation around Ordinary Man’s release that it could be Osbourne’s final album. Patient Number 9 proves that theory wrong. Don’t count him out just yet.”
ULTIMATE CLASSIC ROCK, 9-9-22

“A new Ozzy Osbourne album still feels like a major event…When Ozzy speaks, the world still listens.  Patient Number 9 also happens to be Osbourne’s best album in years…The all-star supporting cast doesn’t outshine Ozzy, who sounds terrific…”
STEREOGUM, 9/21/22

“… a solid new solo album, Patient Number 9, packed with cameos from some of the greatest guitarists in rock, like Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Mike McCready, Zakk Wylde, and his old Sabbath cohort Tony Iommi…Osbourne has a great record to promote.”
PASTE MAGAZINE, 9/19/22

Rock & Roll Hall Of Famer Ozzy Osbourne is still going strong.”
JAMBASE, 9/9/22

“There’s so much going on here. You’re getting reunions with old collaborators (Zakk Wylde, Robert Trujillo, and Tony Iommi), some new collaborators (Jeff Beck, Mike McCready, and more), it’s got Ozzy on harmonica for a song (at least?), and his strange sense of humor and darkness…it’s a solid Ozzy record. Andrew Watt knows really how to get Ozzy to be Ozzy.”
METAL INJECTION, 9/9/22

“Against all odds, Ozzy Osbourne’s 2020s output has been as strong if not stronger than the vast majority of his multi-decade discography. His 12th studio solo album, 2020’s Ordinary Man, sounded rejuvenated and inspired, with its moments of hard-hitting, Sabbath-echoing greatness… ‘Patient Number 9,’ arrives just two relatively short years after its predecessor and carries a similar crackle of reactivated excitement…Ozzy’s sound has always included a fine-tuned balance of powerhouse riffing and hooks derived from the more sinister reaches of pop, and that formula continues here… Patient Number 9 gets into more involved song structures and riskier production moves…Ozzy sounds hypercharged throughout Patient Number 9, continuing the unlikely late-in-the-game comeback he began on Ordinary Man, and besting that album by taking more chances.”
ALLMUSIC.COM, 9/9/22

“The jaw-dropping array of music legends who lent their services to this album make Patient Number 9 a very entertaining listen, one in which Osbourne sounds as resilient and vocally powerful as always — a powerful reminder that even at 73, he can still rock as hard as anyone out there. Give it a listen.”
ROCK CELLAR MAGAZINE, 9/9/22

“No one can question the resiliency of the Prince of Darkness. Despite ongoing health concerns and an understanding from the legendary rocker and fans alike that any day could be his last, Ozzy Osbourne presses on…The tracks on Patient Number 9 are well-written, well-arranged and well-performed—and right in line with what fans have come to expect from the heavy metal hero.”
RIFF MAGAZINE, 9/9/22 (8/10)

“Genuinely one of the strongest albums Ozzy has released in years, Patient Number 9 might be weighted somewhat more towards the slower, power ballad side of things but when it gets going, it rocks like a motherfucker. The vocals are strong and vibrant, and if that’s due in part to studio tinkering then who cares?  Ozzy earned the right to do whatever the hell he wants a long time ago, and most importantly, it sounds fucking great.”
GHOST CULT MAGAZINE, 9/9/22 (8/10)

“Patient Number 9, also filled with big names, proves the Black Sabbath frontman is still very much in the game…altogether, Patient Number 9 is a gallant effort, brimming with energy and spirit. It perfectly captures the singer’s unique and stirring vocals, leading the charge over a mostly heavy soundtrack full of heart and passion. Perhaps more than anything, it finds Ozzy Osbourne untarnished by the wear and tear of his age and rockstar lifestyle — and far, far away from the finish line.”
VINTAGEROCK.COM, 9/9/22

“The most important British person of all time besides Tony Iommi releases his latest album, Patient Number 9, with a slew of guest appearances. It’s his best record since 2007’s No More Tears, thanks in part to the strong choices in guest features.”
METALSUCKS, 9/9/22

“After all these years, Osbourne proves that he deserves not only the accolades but more so the adulation for his music. Patient Number 9 is another golden ring on his finger. The man may have been slowed down by his life’s challenges; but as an artist, his music is earthly eternal. All this said, Ozzy Osbourne is really alive and well, still rocking menacingly to his heart’s content. That is why Cryptic Rock gives Patient Number 9, 4 out of 5 stars.”
CRYPTIC ROCK, 9/18/22

Prog-leaning alt/power-pop/new wave Boston-based trio ELSEWHERE to release their musically adventurous and evocative concept album ‘LIFE…IS A FRACTION’ on November 4

ELSEWHERE,
THE PROG-LEANING ALT/POWER-POP/NEW WAVE
BOSTON-BASED TRIO,
TO RELEASE THIRD ALBUM
‘LIFE…IS A FRACTION’
ON NOVEMBER 4

Prog-leaning alt/power-pop/new wave Boston-based trio ELSEWHERE–led by frontman and guitarist Michael Aroian and drummer Adam Soucy–will release their musically adventurous and evocative concept album LIFE…IS A FRACTION on November 4. This follows the release of the album’s two singles: Call You Out and The Pledge.” The track listing follows below.

For their third album, ELSEWHERE worked with producer and long-time collaborator David Minehan (Replacements, Aerosmith). LIFE…IS A FRACTION weaves together a fascinating, semi-autobiographical narrative about how our perception of time shifts as we grow older. Days, months, and years seem to speed up…until a frightening, life-changing diagnosis–and being forced to face mortality–changes everything once again. The record is based on the cancer diagnosis Aroian received several years ago which served as a defining point in his life.

“I became cognizant of relative time in my 30s,” Aroian says. “The idea behind LIFE…IS A FRACTION is that at any age, we have only lived a fraction of our lifespan. When you’re five, you’ve maybe lived 1/16th of say, 80 years. When we’re children, life events seem to take much longer because we’ve only lived a very small part of an average life. In this fraction, the numerator is the number of days you have lived, and the denominator the total number you will ultimately live. In the story we tell on the album, as in my own life, the protagonist’s denominator is potentially cut short by getting sick. It sped everything up, and he, like I, was suddenly able to see time move. The more days that go by, the faster time seems to go as we rapidly approach our denominator.”

As the protagonist wanders through life before being brutally confronted with his own mortality, he explores various options–face it, embrace it, defy it. Through it all, LIFE…IS A FRACTION teeters precariously on the edge of sanity. “When I was diagnosed with cancer, I experienced this first-hand,” says Aroian. “My denominator was reduced. I now literally live it every day. Time is indeed fleeting and the sooner we realize this, the sooner we can take control and live each day to the fullest. The tragedy is not that this is happening to us, but that we might not learn from it or do anything proactive or meaningful about it.”

LIFE…IS A FRACTION shows the band reaching a creative zenith (all in a hard-hitting 34 minutes); it’s an original rock epic that shakes the foundations not only of what everyone’s come to expect of the New England trio, but also of the lives of everyone who listens. Musically, it was influenced by front man Aroian’s lifelong passion for Rush and particularly their 1978 classic album Hemispheres, as well as the early Genesis catalogue. After the main 10-song cycle, the album ends with ELSEWHERE’s most recent singles from 2020-21, “Call You Out” and the aforementioned “The Pledge.”

The band previously released two albums and EPs and are best known for their single “Don’t You Believe Me Baby,” a dynamic cover of a previously unrecorded early 80’s Police song. That atypical release helped the band generate over half a million streams on Spotify and score a full-page story in the Boston Herald. It was followed by the “banthem” (ballad/anthem) “The Pledge,” which broke important ground by tackling the often-taboo subject of Alzheimer’s Disease; the song was mixed by Grammy-nominated producer Mark Needham (The Killers, Imagine Dragons, Pink, Elton John).

The LIFE…IS A FRACTION track listing is as follows:

  1. Life…is a Fraction I. Restless
  2. Life…is a Fraction II. Origin Story
  3. Life…is a Fraction III. In Search of the Unknown
  4. Life…is a Fraction IV. Rolling On
  5. Life…is a Fraction V. Diagnosis
  6. Life…is a Fraction VI. Realization
  7. Life…is a Fraction VII. Happening Now
  8. Life…is a Fraction VIII. Reflection
  9. Life…is a Fraction IX. Interlude/Transformation
  10. Life…is a Fraction X. Finale/The End of Everything
  11. Call You Out
  12. The Pledge

Q&A with Michael Aroian of ELSEWHERE

Q: Life…is a Fraction comes in at 34 minutes–was that where you ended up because you felt the story was told in that time?

Michael Aroian (MA): “Yes and no. Originally, the idea was only supposed to be told in 8-9 minutes and was going to be included as part of a B-side to an earlier EP we released in 2018 called “Multi-Man”. As the pandemic roared on and we became more introspective and experimental with our writing and recording, the sonic canvas expanded and time ironically stopped for awhile to allow us to broaden the story and give it proper attention and treatment. We didn’t intend to have 10 chapters at the outset but as the project progressed, it was evident more music was needed to complete the narrative.”

Q: Life…is a Fraction seems to have a universal appeal since through the pandemic time seemed to be broken into fractions, but also stood still. Noting time perception was different over the past few years, did this play into the story at all?

(MA): It did indirectly at first and then the idea of fractional time perception became more crystallized as our everyday lives were put on pause. One thought about why time seems to move by quicker as we get older relates to the notion of being more busy, be it with family or professional or other obligations. When we are younger, most of us don’t have as many responsibilities or complexities in our lives. This usually changes with time. However, even as I myself was tasked with less mundane things to worry about during that approximate two year pause, time still whipped by. And it was because my numerator of days lived on this earth was catching up with my fixed but unknown denominator of days that I had to live. No matter what, I have lived a greater relative percentage of my life than I did before the pandemic and as a result everything sped up despite me spending more time at home “doing nothing”…This observation to me became more chilling and underscored what we were trying to tell people with this story…

Q: Can you talk about how the band came up with and refined its merger of prog-leaning alt-rock?

(MA): The notion of us being a prog leaning alt/power-pop/new wave trio didn’t necessarily happen consciously as say a band like The Police purposefully (and with genius) marrying rock and reggae. It was more a function of evolution. All the members in the band love prog rock and were raised on it to some extent but for me, being a boy in the 80’s and becoming an adult in the 90’s, I also ended up being exposed to so many interesting genres within the rock realm be it from punk to new wave to grunge to brit pop to nu metal. A lot of these different influences permeate our writing and while some of the pursuits of prog rock can be fantastic, sometimes they can be lost in self-indulgence (which is also okay). I think what we were unconsciously trying to do was create a concept record that would be applicable to today’s music consuming environment. Things move faster and attention spans are shorter. The notion of the bridge in song arrangement has been abandoned or mutated. We thought we could convey a story with deep meaning in more bite sized chunks that perhaps younger people who are always on the move and looking at their phone could enjoy and understand. But stylistically and sonically our sound has arrived via a gradual confluence of many different musical influences.

About ELSEWHERE:

Describing themselves as a “prog leaning alt/power-pop new wave band,” Boston based power trio Elsewhere’s single “Don’t You Believe Me Baby”–a dynamic cover of a long overlooked, previously unrecorded early 80’s Police song–has scored hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube, and streams on Spotify and landed the band a full page story in the Boston Herald. Their most recent EP Multi-Man includes three equally fiery originals penned by frontman and guitarist Michael Aroian. Elsewhere initially achieved notoriety for their now out of print album Outbound, which earned them slots at the College Music Journal (CMJ) Marathon and numerous showcases in NYC where major labels showed interest. The band later achieved an international breakthrough with their widely acclaimed 1981 album in 2010. In addition to Belgium, where they received a write-up in one of the country’s biggest rock magazines (Rock Tribune), they became popular and received great press in Germany, Denmark, Norway, UK, Italy, Czech Republic and other countries – all while continuing to hold court at top clubs in their home base of Boston and NYC.

YES Now On The Road In The U.S. Receiving Praise For Their 50th Anniversary Tour Of Iconic Album ‘Close To The Edge’

YES
NOW ON THE ROAD IN THE U.S. RECEIVING PRAISE
FOR THEIR 50TH ANNIVERSARY TOUR
OF ICONIC ALBUM
‘CLOSE TO THE EDGE’

Prog rock pioneers and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees YES are receiving praise for the in-progress U.S. leg of their “The Album Series Tour 2022,” celebrating the 50th anniversary of their 1972 iconic album, Close To The Edge. This marks the band’s first trek in the U.S. since 2019 and kicked off with two shows in Glenside, PA at the Keswick Theatre on Friday, October 7 and Saturday, October 8. It will wrap in New York at the NYCB Theatre on November 19. See the remaining tour dates below.

“Yes kicks off 2022 U.S. tour with stunning performance of ‘Close to the Edge’…greeted so rapturously by the sold-out crowd that loved every minute of this glorious performance…As always with a Yes concert, the sound, lights and visuals were uniformly excellent. Yes always sounds great live, and this show was no exception. The lighting was well-done…The video screens showed beautiful imagery throughout, well-timed to the songs and featuring some Roger Dean images and animation along with other breathtaking photos and graphics that enhanced the emotion of the songs.”
GOLDMINE MAGAZINE, 10/11/22

“This is the first Yes tour with Schellen in the driver’s seat as the only drummer (he’s backed up White during the last few years), and the veteran musician was definitely up to the task…Opening with “On the Silent Wings Of Freedom” served as a solid nod to late bassist Chris Squire…’Yours is No Disgrace” was steady, jazzy at times, and ‘Wonderous Stories’ found Howe spinning out a “Seen All Good People” tease on his 12-string valachia.”
VINTAGE ROCK, 10/15/22

“’Close to the Edge’ was note perfect throughout. Howe was majestic in his riffing and finger picking, trading from electric to acoustic to even slide guitar for pieces. The title song hummed along in its progressive chord changes on a dime, shifting from heavy bass and guitar to Davison’s soaring “I Get Up, I Get Down” section that repeated throughout the 18-minute song. “And You and I” followed and that’s definitely a crowd pleaser. “Siberian Khatru” is more a straight-ahead rocker and the perfect song to bring the audience to its feet and close the second set. YES has had a long history. This version kept that legacy intact.”
PENNSYLVANNIA PATCH, 10/12/22

As with “The Album Series Tour 2022,” which started off in the UK this past June, the U.S. tour is dedicated to the late Alan White—the band’s legendary drummer—following his passing this past May (see the band quotes about Alan here).

Alan White joined YES in June 1972, just days before their “Close To The Edge” Tour began. Over the following 50 years, Alan would appear on every YES album including 2021’s The Quest. Following the global pandemic, he had been looking forward to this tour and re-joining his bandmates on stage, something he lived for, in the run up to his 50th anniversary of joining YES.

Sadly, that was not be, but Alan’s towering presence will be omnipresent on the tour. Alan’s good friend, drummer Jay Schellen, will join YES for the forthcoming tour, alongside Steve Howe (guitars & backing vocals), Geoff Downes (keyboards), Jon Davison (lead vocals) and Billy Sherwood (bass guitar and backing vocals).

The “Close to the Edge” show comprise full production and a high-definition video wall directed by Andy Clark and featuring the artwork of Roger Dean.

Following the release of The Yes Album and Fragile in 1971, YES released what is widely considered one of the most defining albums, not only for YES but for the whole progressive movement. Close To The Edge became an inspiration for their contemporaries and for successive generations of musicians. The album is saluted with a cover story in the September 2022 issue of the national magazine Guitar Player, for which Steve Howe was interviewed. He recalls: “We were young, enthusiastic, and adventurous, and we had this incredible breakthrough success with Fragile. We saw our next album as a real opportunity to prove our worth as a band. The door had been opened and we weren’t going to go backward. We wanted to sharpen our skills as far as writing and arranging.”

About YES

Formed in 1968 by Jon Anderson and the late, and much-missed, Chris Squire, YES have been one of the most innovative, influential and best-loved bands in rock music history. Their 1970s albums The Yes Album, Fragile, Close to the Edge, Yessongs (a triple live album set), Tales From Topographic Oceans, Relayer and Going For The One were ground-breaking in musical style and content. Their music also became synonymous with artist Roger Dean whose distinctive YES logo design and artwork adorned the lavish gatefold presentation sleeves of many YES albums.

With sales of over 50 million records, the Grammy-award winning YES were inducted into The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2017 where they performed Roundabout from the album Fragile and the FM radio-friendly Owner Of A Lonely Heart from the 1985 album 90125. In 2021 YES released their 22nd Studio album, The Quest, produced by Steve Howe, which went to No.1 in the UK rock chart and entered the Official UK Album Chart at No.20.

VELVET CHAINS Share New Single “Time Stood Still” from October 21 EP ‘Morbid Dreams’

DT: OCTOBER 19, 2022

FM: MITCH SCHNEIDER, KELLY WALSH / SRO PR

VELVET CHAINS
TODAY SHARE NEW SINGLE “TIME STOOD STILL”
AND ANNOUNCE NEW SIX-SONG EP
‘MORBID DREAMS’
OUT OCTOBER 21

LISTEN HERE TO “TIME STOOD STILL”

VELVET CHAINS today (October 19) have shared their new song “Time Stood Still” and announced the Friday, October 21 release of the six-song EP MORBID DREAMS. Listen to the song–a heavy ballad with the dark stylings that Las Vegas-based hard rock band is becoming known for—HERE.

“Time Stood Still” was produced, mixed & mastered by Grammy Award-nominated and Juno Award-winning producer Kane Churko (Five Finger Death Punch, Papa Roach, Skillet) and recorded at The Hideout Recording in the band’s Vegas hometown. Co-written by multi-platinum songwriter Drew Lawrence (Lindsey Stirling, Christina Perri) and the band’s bassist/founder Nils Goldschmidt, “Time Stood Still” starts and ends tensely with eerie guitar sounds and possesses an explosive chorus with full-on guitar crunch and searing vocals by frontman Ro Viper, who sings, “I’ve been going down the darkest path.”

In addition to “Time Stood Still,” MORBID DREAMS features new songs “Hiding From Stars” and “Fade Away” alongside the previously released singles/videos “Last Drop” (launched by AntiMusic), “Can’t Win” outlet Terra) and “Back On The Train,” debuted by MXDWN which took note of the band’s “thunderous riffs, melodious guitars…[and] booming vocals.”

VELVET CHAINS—consisting of founder Nils Goldschmidt (bass), Brazilian brothers Laurent (lead guitar) and Larry (rhythm guitar) Cassiano, drummer Jason Hope and Chilean-bred lead singer Ro Viper—decided to issue this EP now instead of waiting to release a previously announced second album for next year. “We’re proud of these six songs and wanted to get them out there now,” says Nils. “At the same time, we’re excited about the band’s growth and evolution. We want to fully capture that in the studio with the next batch of songs.”

Armed with heavy riffs, melodic guitars, soaring vocals and driving rhythms, VELVET CHAINS performed this past summer at Rock Fest (Cadott, WI) and Blue Ridge Rock Fest (Alton, VA). They’ve also opened twice for Todd Kerns (Slash Feat. Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators, The Age of Electric) at Count’s Vamp’d in Vegas and have an ongoing Vegas residency at The Barbershop (The Cosmopolitan).

“JADED-LIVE”
IN ADVANCE OF LOS ANGELES RECORD RELEASE SHOW
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 22 @ HOTEL CAFÉ

DEBUT SOLO ALBUM ‘THE NORTH FORK’
OUT NOW
VIA BLACKBIRD RECORD LABEL

Credit: Anna Azarov

Americana/alt-country singer-songwriter and bassist DEB MORRISON will celebrate the September 9 release of her debut solo album THE NORTH FORK (Blackbird Record Label) with a special release show in Los Angeles at Hotel Café this Saturday, October 22. In advance of the concert, MORRISON has revealed an intimate video clip for the album’s track “Jaded – Live” which was premiered yesterday via AntiMusic. Watch it streaming below or directly HERE.

The “Jaded – Live” music video was recorded during lockdown and filmed by Nic Capelle of Rockton Road Studios who previously filmed and co-directed recent singles (“The North Fork,” “Blackbird,” “Salton Sea”) and produced THE NORTH FORK. The clip shows a stripped down performance featuring MORRISON on bass, Matt Littell on guitar and Natalie Capelle on harmony vocals.

“Jaded is about remembering when you were a dreamer,” shares MORRISON. “It’s about figuring out a way to rekindle feelings of hope and endless possibility in a complicated world.”

Further explaining the track, she states: “The story takes place at my friend’s mother’s house where we used to hang and talk about all of the things we dreamed of doing one day. It’s tough getting up over and over again when life knocks you down. It’s about to getting back to where you started, when you had big dreams, and empty pockets.”

On THE NORTH FORKMORRISON blurs the boundaries between alt-country, Americana, and roadhouse rock & roll with cinematic storytelling. Notes Andy Kaufmann in his October 2022 album review in Music Connection: “You know the way music can elicit tears of joy? The feature-length debut from singer-songwriter Deb Morrison is loaded with such misty-eyed moments. Inhabiting the space between a left-coast country aesthetic and modern Americana, her tunes are as personal as they are delectable.

FROM: MARCEE RONDAN/MITCH SCHNEIDER

OZZY OSBOURNE
TEAMS WITH OMAZE TO GIVE AWAY
CUSTOM DODGE DEMON BY SPEEDKORE
IN SUPPORT OF SAVE THE MUSIC FOUNDATION
CHANCE TO WIN TO WIN ONE-OF-A KIND CUSTOM CAR
RUNS THROUGH DECEMBER 23

Just in time for Halloween, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and Grammy®-winning singer and songwriter OZZY OSBOURNE has teamed with online fundraising platform Omaze and SpeedKore Performance Group™ to give away a custom Dodge Demon® to one lucky customer, while supporting Save The Music Foundation. Now through December 23, participants can donate to Save The Music Foundation and enter for the chance to win this coveted one-of-one custom Dodge Demon upgraded by the experts at SpeedKore, the team behind a number of famous movie franchise supercars.

OSBOURNE yesterday unveiled a video in support of the sweepstakes. In the promo, OZZY sets out to give away a Dodge Demon to support a great cause, but he soon discovers that the tagline, “Win A Demon” might not sit well with everyone…including his 7,000 year old pet demon. This sweepstakes comes on the heels of OZZY’s critically acclaimed #1 album PATIENT NUMBER 9.

“Having worked with so many great players over the years, I hope we can raise some money to support Save The Music’s mission to encourage the next generation of musicians,” OZZY OSBOURNE says.

Earlier this month, Save The Music Foundation celebrated its 25th anniversary with the unveiling of a brand refresh reflecting its forward-looking approach to music education. Since 1997, the nonprofit has helped over 2,500 schools across the country develop music programs and donated nearly $70m worth of instruments and technology. This year has been STM’s most impactful yet, as the organization delivered grants to 166 schools with a total enrollment of 82,187 students—achievements in line with STM’s long standing history of impact.

“We are on a mission to dream the world better, which means we look for ways to support the passions of many, which is something that Save The Music does very well,” said Matt Pohlson, co-founder & CEO, Omaze. “We are excited to partner with Ozzy and SpeedKore to give away this one-of-a-kind car to benefit Save The Music.”

“For 25 years, Save The Music has focused on investing in young creators in the culturally rich communities behind the pop music that dominates today’s industry,” said Henry Donahue, STM’s Executive Director. “Through the support of Omaze and Ozzy, we are able to take our work to the next level, reach more students, and share the power of making music.”

To enter, visit omaze.com and select the Dodge Demon giveaway and follow the entry instructions, including an opportunity to donate or enter without donating. The sweepstakes will be open through December 23, 2022.

Details about the Dodge Demon and the Official Rules can be found here.** No purchase necessary to enter or win.

ABOUT OZZY OSBOURNE’S PATIENT NUMBER 9:

Released September 9, OZZY’S 13th studio album, PATIENT NUMBER 9 was produced by Andrew Watt and features a dynamic group of A-list guests. For the first time ever, Black Sabbath co-founder, guitarist, and riff- master Tony Iommi appears on an OZZY solo album. The record also boasts guitarists Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Mike McCready of Pearl Jam, and long standing right hand man and six-string beast Zakk Wylde who plays on the majority of the tracks.

The critically acclaimed album topped OZZY’s previous chart entries with record-breaking numbers around the world.

3x Grammy-nominated rock outfit NOTHING MORE’s latest studio album SPIRITS is out today (October 14) via Better Noise Music across all platforms. On their new album, SPIRITS, NOTHING MORE—Jonny Hawkins (vocals), Mark Vollelunga (guitar, backing vocals), Daniel Oliver (bass) and Ben Anderson (drums), pair unapologetically massive anthems, catchy hooks, and progressive music with introspective, philosophical lyrics and thought-provoking emotionalism. From the Top 5 Active Rock charting lead single “TIRED OF WINNING” and its fan-driven extended version “TIRED OF WINNING / SHIPS IN THE NIGHT” to fist-pounding banger “TURN IT UP LIKE” and their most recent impassioned single “YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT LOVE MEANS,SPIRITS documents the impact the past two years of lockdown and turmoil has had on the world capturing society’s desperation, mental health struggles and self-realizations. Inspired by philosophers including Alan Watts and Carl Jung, NOTHING MORE have also launched their own meta-personality test, “SPIRITS TEST,” developed by Hawkins which measures psychometrics to determine your “SPIRIT TYPE”—a personality description that shows your correlating elements, paths and perceptions.

“This album is a mass experiment to see which SPIRIT TYPES connect to particular songs on the record,” collectively shares NOTHING MORE. “Go to spiritstest.com and then listen to our new album.”

In their latest music video for “BEST TIMES,” NOTHING MORE stress the power of living in the moment. Directed by award-winning filmmaker Robyn August (“Party With Me,” Snoop Dogg, Pitbull, Set It Off), the video displays the band’s unique mix of rock balladry and the full-on rock that the band is known for. The “BEST TIMES” music video can be seen now via YouTube (HERE) or streaming below.

“This song is a living reminder to live in the now,” shares Hawkins. “Often the best times of our lives escape us, unrecognized and unappreciated in the moment. It’s not until time passes that our mind reveals what our heart always knew.”

NOTHING MORE are currently on tour alongside Sleep Token and In This Moment throughout October 24 including appearances at some of the country’s top rock festivals (Aftershock Festival, Blue Ridge Rock Festival, Rocklahoma, Inkcarceration and Louder Than Life). Their incendiary live show has been acclaimed by critics in recent reviews who’ve praised their performance as follows:

“It’s impossible to not be drawn in by the band’s electric stage presence, stunning musicianship and the songs themselves (which everyone knew by heart of course).”
ATLAS ARTIST GROUP (6/20)

“If any rock concert in recent memory is sure to leave a lasting impression in my mind, it will certainly be the day Nothing More graced The Wellmont with their energetic, unapologetic, and absolutely electric performance. This is the kind of rock band you need to see with your own eyes to believe, and once you’ve experienced their eclectic performance for yourself, you will have a higher standard for rock concerts as a whole, if any other band has the hope of keeping up with Nothing More.”
