ABOUT NOTHING MORE:
Rock audiences count NOTHING MORE among the most cherished acts, the kind of band who straddle the line between populism and intimacy with every performance. The San Antonio, Texas-born quartet builds unapologetically massive anthems from catchy hooks. Crowd-pleasers clear a path for heady, confessional, thought-provoking emotionalism. Fresh rewards reveal themselves with repeat listens, welcoming like-minded seekers with rich melodicism, like the best of Deftones or Tool. The critically acclaimed, 3x-Grammy-nominated rock band–Jonny Hawkins (vocals), Mark Vollelunga (guitar), Daniel Oliver (bass), and Ben Anderson (drums)—released the deluxe version of their critically acclaimed 2022 album SPIRITS via BETTER NOISE MUSIC last year. SPIRITS combines unapologetically massive anthems, catchy hooks, and progressive music with introspective, philosophical lyrics and thought-provoking emotionalism. It was accompanied by their very own meta-personality test, SPIRITS TEST which was the inspirations for NOTHING MORE’s first-ever graphic novel “SPIRITS VOL.1” via Z2 Comics

ABOUT WAGE WAR:
Wage War — Briton Bond [lead vocals], Cody Quistad [rhythm guitar, clean vocals], Seth Blake [lead guitar], Chris Gaylord [bass], and Stephen Kluesener [drums] — burst onto the scene when they issued their debut, Blueprints, in 2015. The album yielded multiple fan favorites, namely “Alive” and “The River.” 2017’s Deadweight established the Florida quintet as a rising force in the hard rock world. The release earned widespread praise from Metal Injection, New Noise, Metal Hammer, and Rock Sound, who dubbed it “a relentless, genre-evolving treat.” For 2019’s Pressure, they enlisted the talents of producer Drew Fulk (Motionless in White, Lil Peep, iDKHOW) and recorded in Los Angeles for the first time, delivering a bold body of work, logging countless miles on the road, racking up millions of streams, and garnering press accolades from Billboard, Modern Drummer, and American Songwriter. 2021’s Manic was a watershed moment for the fivesome. It was a head-turning chart success, landing on multiple Billboard charts — #5 Digital; #8 Hard Music; and #12 Rock. The album earned press raves from the get-go, with kudos from SPIN, Consequence, Revolver, Loudwire, Kerrang!, Alternative Press, and landing covers at Kerrang! and UPSET.  Wage War delivered The Stripped Sessions, an acoustic release that showed off their songwriting chops, in 2022. They’ve appeared at major festivals, including Welcome to Rockville, Download, and Rock am Ring and Park, and have hit the road with Slipknot, A Day To Remember, Three Days Grace, Falling In Reverse, and more. They were chosen as one of SiriusXM’s “Future 5 of 2022.” The single “Circle The Drain” hit #1 on Octane BIG UNS Countdown. Another impressive career highlight is the band’s cumulative stream tally — they’ve generated nearly 560  million total streams. Wage War remain hard at work on their eagerly awaited fifth album.

KICK OFF HEADLINING ‘SPIRITS 2023’ TOUR

Today (September 8), 3x-Grammy-nominated and gold-certified rock act NOTHING MORE release the deluxe version of their critically acclaimed 2022 album SPIRITS via BETTER NOISE MUSIC. SPIRITS–DELUXE VERSION features six bonus tracks including three live recordings—the first-ever live releases from the group—captured from their sold-out headlining concert at Irving Plaza in New York, New York. There’s also an EDM remix of “TIRED OF WINNING” by AHEE & Cymek and two previously released updated singles including “BEST TIMES” featuring Lacey Sturm of Flyleaf. Stream and/or download SPIRITS–DELUXE VERSION now HERE.

“This is our first-ever, OFFICIAL release, of live recordings from an electric night in NYC,” says frontman JONNY HAWKINS. “The relationship we have with our fans is exceptional and the energy from that night really shines through the recordings.  We also have an EDM remix of ‘Tired of Winning,’ an acoustic take on ‘Best Times,’ and last but not least…a duet with the one and only Lacey Sturm from Flyleaf.”

NOTHING MOREHawkins (vocals), Mark Vollelunga (guitar), Daniel Oliver (bass), and Ben Anderson (drums)—have also shared the new music video for their snarling, fist-raising anthem “FACE IT (LIVE).” Watch it streaming below or via YouTube HERE.

“‘FACE IT’ illustrates a very similar narrative to the amazing story ‘Life of Pi’ by Yann Matel,” elaborates HAWKINS. “There are times in our lives when we need to let our dark passenger take control so we can ‘Face It.’  Just like when Pi becomes the tiger when survival is on the line.  It’s a pumped up, epic anthem designed to give one the courage to silence their inner angel in order to face their demons; to call on the shadow from the bitter side of truth because the reality is that we are all angels and animals.  That’s what makes us human.  We are not one or the other, but rather both simultaneously and we know this transformation can’t rely on anyone but ourselves.

Tonight (September 8), NOTHING MORE will kick off the second leg of their “SPIRITS 2023” headlining tour in Nashville, TN with support from DEAD POET SOCIETY, HYRO THE HERO (rap-rocker and Better Noise Music labelmate), and POST PROFIT. The Live Nation-produced tour stretches until September 25 and will see “Best Times” guest vocalist Lacey Sturm (Flyleaf) join as direct support on the September 14 show in Dallas, TX at The Factory. Tickets and limited VIP meet & greet upgrades are available at https://nothingmore.net/.

Hawkins and Vollelunga started the band in 2003 and were quickly joined by bassist Daniel Oliver and later by drummer Ben Anderson. The band’s blend of explosive bombast and nuanced storytelling resulted in a half dozen Top 10 singles at Mainstream Rock Radio, including the No. 1 hit “Go to War” and the Sirius XM Octane song of the decade and Active Rock chart-topper “This is the Time (Ballast).” The Stories We Tell Ourselves earned a head-turning three Grammy nominations. They’re set to follow it up with a new album in 2022, which is filled with their most philosophical and primal music to date. The first offering, “TURN IT UP LIKE,” released in March 2022, is a fitting first taste of what’s to come.

NOTHING MORE appeals to fans of Linkin Park, Incubus, Rage Against The Machine, and all crucial acts that stoke relatable passion with authenticity and integrity. Memorize the arena-ready hooks. Get mesmerized by the intimate, communal live show. Dig deeper down the rabbit hole into the work of philosophers and artists like Eckhart Tolle, Carl Jung, and Alan Watts, who inspire the band. There’s a place for every type of rock fan with NOTHING MORE. Built to last, here to stay.

(Credit: Christian Lawrence)

After pulverizing stages across North America on the first leg of their headlining “SPIRITS 2023” tour earlier this spring, including sold-out shows in NYC, Philadelphia, Sacramento and Toronto, 3x Grammy-nominated rockers NOTHING MORE will continue to bring their potent live experience to audiences throughout 2023.Following their return from headlining shows and festival appearances across Europe, NOTHING MORE will join fellow Top 10 rock acts Godsmack and Staind on their North American co-headlining trek from July 18 to August 31. Next, they’ll launch the second U.S. leg of their “SPIRITS 2023” headlining tour this fall with support from DEAD POET SOCIETY, HYRO THE HERO (rap-rocker and Better Noise Music labelmate), and POST PROFIT. Starting July 23 in Albany, NY at The Fillmore Charlotte, the produced by Live Nation tour will stretch across the South before making its final stop at The Fillmore Charlotte in Charlotte, NC on September 25. Tickets go on sale this Friday, June 16 at 10:00 A.M. local time at https://nothingmore.net/. See below for a list of all upcoming shows.

On their new album SPIRITS, NOTHING MORE combine unapologetically massive anthems, catchy hooks, and progressive music with introspective, philosophical lyrics and thought-provoking emotionalism. The album documents the tumultuous time the world experienced over the past two years, capturing the desperation and isolation of lockdown, the spiral of substance abuse, the pain of broken relationships, and survival in self-reliance. These concepts were further explored with the development of their very own meta-personality test, SPIRITS TEST, designed by frontman Jonny Hawkins—similar to tests such as Myers-Briggs, Big 5 and the Zodiac—which results in finding out one’s “Spirit Type,” one of seven personality characters based on the test’s results. The “Spirit Types” and their origin story are further detailed in the band’s first-ever graphic novel “SPIRITS VOL.1” out now via Z2 Comics.

NOTHING MORE recently shared a new version of SPIRITS heartfelt single “Best Times” featuring Lacey Sturm (Flyleaf). Watch the music video HERE

To coincide with the tour announcement, NOTHING MORE will drop a limited-edition reverse artwork translucent smoke variant vinyl version of SPIRITS along with a new “Fuse” SPIRIT TYPE t-shirt. 3x Grammy-nominated NOTHING MORE, lauded as one of mainstream rock’s most powerful and distinctive acts, have teamed up with rock singer/songwriter Lacey Sturm (Flyleaf) who is featured on a new version of the single “BEST TIMES” from NOTHING MORE’s 2022 album SPIRITS via Better Noise Music. “BEST TIMES (Feat. Lacey Sturm)” is out today (March 24), across all digital platforms and the group has also shared its music video, seen streaming below or HERE.

The music video for “BEST TIMES (Feat. Lacey Sturm)” was directed by Michael Lombardi (The Retaliators, Papa Roach, The HU) and takes an inside look at a couple’s relationship and how life’s ‘best times’ can sometimes pass us by without being acknowledged and is a reminder to appreciate those moments as they occur.

“This song is a real special one,” reveals NOTHING MORE frontman JONNY HAWKINS. “It’s definitely one of the most positive feel-good songs we’ve ever written and it obviously stands out on the album by being that ray of hope too. I didn’t think it could get any better, but when we thought about featuring another singer and Lacey’s name came up it was a no-brainer. She’s been a shining light and is one of those singers that makes you feel and believe every word out of her mouth whether you agree with it or not. We knew her voice would take it over the top… and that’s exactly what she did! We couldn’t be more proud to have her collaborate with us on this and to get it out to the world for everyone to feel and embrace when you need a song to help get you through.”

STURM comments: “I connected with Jonny’s story about his family struggles with his mother and sister. I love the painful beauty in any art that comes from wrestling with mental health and addiction. I’ve always looked for common ground with artists who deal with suicide prevention. My own struggle against self-destruction is also a struggle to not tear my loved ones apart. There is a perspective shift in this song.  Like a suffocating cloud, the heaviness of life turns to thankfulness and even joy over what matters most. Pain and loss can turn the lights on inside us, allowing us to see the good, all the ‘Best Times,’ we couldn’t see before. I’m relieved to be reminded by this song to remember what matters most and find gratitude. I need it.”

NOTHING MORE will bring their riveting live performance to virtual audiences on Sunday, April 9 as they’ve partnered with VEEPS to host a livestream show from their headlining NYC tour stop at Irving Plaza. Tickets for the livestream event are on-sale now HERE. The stop is part of NOTHING MORE’s “SPIRITS 2023” U.S. tour which stretches from March 31 in Richmond, VA until the band’s featured set at Sonic Temple festival in Columbus, OH on May 28 and features supporting acts Crown The Empire and Thousand Below. The rock quartet will then make their way overseas to hit several of the top rock festivals across Europe including Hellfest (France), KNOTFEST (Italy), Graspop (Belgium) and more in addition to a newly added headlining show in London, UK on June 19 at O2 Islington Academy. Find all upcoming shows and tickets, plus VIP upgrade options at https://nothingmore.net/tourdates.

NOTHING MORE will be bringing copies of their debut graphic novel, “SPIRITS VOL.1,” (Z2 Comics) on upcoming tour dates for fans to purchase along with fulfilling all online pre-orders. The puzzle box narrative was written by Dan Watters (King Diamond’s Abigail, Lucifer, Azrael) and illustrated by Christian Rosado. Adhering to the themes of NOTHING MORE’s recent SPIRITS album, “SPIRTS VOL. 1” follows the lives of four individuals from 1952 to modern day, and examines how the unexpected manifestation of their spirit types alter and shape their destinies for a greater purpose. The spirit types were formed from the results of taking the band’s own meta-personality “SPIRITS TEST” released concurrent with the new album. Reserve your copy now HERE.

3x Grammy-nominated rock quartet NOTHING MORE have today (February 24) released a new version of the impassioned single “YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT LOVE MEANS,” taken from their 2022 critically acclaimed studio album SPIRITS via Better Noise Music. Front man Jonny Hawkins adds to the emotional lyrics and tone by lending his impressive piano skills and enlists rock singer/songwriter Taylor Acorn on guest vocals. Watch the music video for “YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT LOVE MEANS (Piano Version) Ft. Taylor Acorn” which showcases footage of the recording session below or directly via the band’s TikTok (@nothingmoremusic) HERE. Stream/download the single at: https://nothingmore.ffm.to/ydkwlmta.

“When I had first heard the original version, I instantly fell in love, so when Nothing More asked me to be a part of the piano version it was truly a no brainer,” shares ACORN. “The song is so beautiful and touches on a very similar situation that I was going through in a previous relationship of mine, so it was super easy to connect with. I also love how much, at least to me, the song resembles early Evanescence, which is one of my favorite bands of all time. It’s beautiful, it’s powerful, and I hope people love it as much as I do.”

NOTHING MORE’s headlining North American “SPIRITS 2023” spring tour–with special guests Crown The Empire and Thousand Below–was announced last month and met with high demand. It stretches from March 31 – May 28, and an additional show in Sacramento, CA was added on May 2 at Ace of Spades after their May 1 show sold out within days of tickets going on sale. Additional shows in Philadelphia and NYC are also quickly selling. The full list of dates for the tour, presented by the mental health non-profit organization TO WRITE LOVE ON HER ARMS, is below. On their new album SPIRITS, NOTHING MORE combine unapologetically massive anthems, catchy hooks, and progressive music with introspective, philosophical lyrics and thought-provoking emotionalism. Its eleven tracks were co-written by all band members–Hawkins [vocals], Mark Vollelunga [guitar], Daniel Oliver [bass], and Ben Anderson [drums]–and their longtime manager and co-producer Will Hoffman. The album documents the tumultuous time the world experienced over the past two years capturing the desperation and isolation of lockdown, the spiral of substance abuse, the pain of broken relationships, and survival in self-reliance. These concepts were further explored with the development of their very own meta-personality test, SPIRITS TEST. The “SPIRITS TEST” results are correlated to unique “SPIRIT TYPES” which the band share more about in their upcoming graphic novel “SPIRITS VOL.1” due out this year via Z2 Comics.

“For the last 17 years, To Write Love on Her Arms has been finding ways to use live music as a means to connect people to local and affordable options for mental health care,” relays TWLOHA’s Director of Outreach Chad Moses. “In that time, we’ve been fortunate enough to see some of the very best examples where conversations of mental health have been expressed and received from the stage and in the crowds. We’ve not done this work alone—rather these conversations have been cultivated through active relationships with countless fans, music industry professionals, and artists. Within those ranks, Nothing More has proven to be among the most consistent and loyal friends to the organization, and that friendship grew in large part due to how they craft their art. When the band performs a song about mental health—or about hope, or about pain—they aren’t treating the stage as a pulpit but instead as an invitation. What they have to say or sing finds its true value in how it is received by the listeners and how those fans choose to live out the next chapters. Simply put, Nothing More is what it looks and sounds like to feel a little less alone, and is proof that our deepest questions and challenges can be fertile ground for building community.”

NOTHING MORE’s 2022 album SPIRITS via Better Noise Music was inspired by the philosophy of Alan Watts and Carl Jung and an introspective look at the results on one’s psyche after being isolated due to the pandemic. The album was accompanied by a meta- personality “SPIRITS TEST” designed by frontman Jonny Hawkins—similar to tests such as Myers-Briggs, Big 5 and the Zodiac—which results in finding out one’s “Spirit Type,” one of seven personality characters based on the test’s results. Each “Spirit Type” is paired to a track on SPIRITS which the band have further highlighted with lyric video visualizers showcasing the artwork for the associated “Spirit Type.” Last week NOTHING MORE unveiled the visualizer for “DREAM WITH ME,” and they will next reveal the visualizer for “VALHALLA” with a YouTube video premiere and Instagram live Q&A this Thursday, January 12. Set a reminder for “VALHALLA” lyric video premiere here: https://youtu.be/pDCvfo-HUaA.

NOTHING MORE will further develop the story of these “Spirit Types” in their upcoming graphic novel “SPIRITS VOL.1” due this Spring via Z2 Comics. Pre-order a copy HERE.

ABOUT NOTHING MORE
Rock audiences count NOTHING MORE among the most cherished acts, the kind of band who straddle the line between populism and intimacy with every performance.

Those who saw the band on tour with hard rock heavyweights like Shinedown, Five Finger Death Punch, Breaking Benjamin, Papa Roach, and Disturbed will attest to what The Guardian observed: “There’s a sophistication to NOTHING MORE’s angst that raises them above the tumult-tossed pit.”

Kerrang! named NOTHING MORE one of 22 Artists Shaping the Future of Rock, alongside Nine Inch Nails, Twenty One Pilots, and Bring Me The Horizon. And frontman Jonny Hawkins, who met guitarist Mark Vollelunga before they were old enough to drive, appeared with Billie Joe Armstrong, Dave Grohl, and Hayley Williams in the English tastemaker’s Top 50 Greatest Rockstars in the World.
