Boston-bred singer-songwriter and guitarist JESSE AHERN’s new album, ROOTS ROCK REBEL, was released Friday, September 15, and marks his debut release via Dropkick MurphysDummy Luck Music / [PIAS] record label. Produced by Grammy Award-winner Ted Hutt (Dropkick Murphys, Flogging Molly, The Gaslight Anthem), ROOTS ROCK REBEL is an East Coast mosaic of gritty rock ‘n’ roll and roots inspiration with Americana-style storytelling told in the idiom of a street performer. The 10-track album “creates a meaningful call to action in the tradition of great rambling American buskers,” as proclaimed by SPIN who praised its debut single “Pray” as “a foot-stomping, modern-gospel anthem.” Stream/download ROOTS ROCK REBEL now, as well as pre-order a copy of the album on CD and vinyl (due October 20) at www.jesseahern.com.

JESSE has shared a new music video for the humbling single “The Older I Get” which features guest musicians Ken Casey of Dropkick Murphys and country singer-songwriter Jaime Wyatt. The video was directed by Mike Rivkees. Watch “The Older I Get (feat. Ken Casey of Dropkick Murphys and Jaime Wyatt)” music video streaming below or via YouTube HERE.

“‘The Older I Get’ was almost a throwaway song,” says JESSE. “I had been playing an earlier version of it while on tour in 2022, but something was missing. I brought the song to [producer] Ted Hutt, and he helped me make it the singalong it is now. While on the road with Jaime, she had asked if she could sing it with me onstage and it was a hit, so featuring her was a no-brainer. I felt the last verse was perfect for Ken and am honored that he was up for the task.”

“Everybody’s out there trying to be something they are not, trying to sell an image and a product. Selling their soul for a like or a follow,” CASEY states. “Jesse is the polar opposite. His music, his personality, his core brings me back to the days when none of that mattered. Simpler times when what you saw is what you got. PURE. And this song is Jesse at his best.”

“I met Jesse on tour, we were both opening for Dropkick Murphys and the first song that made me run to the side stage to hear better was ‘The Older I Get,’” shares WYATT. “I instantly started singing a harmony.  I was drawn to the humility and wisdom of the lyrics in that song. The verses are dreamy and universal. Jesse Ahern is a really special dude, which makes him such an insightful writer. He’s lived to tell a lot of amazing stories and I cannot wait for the rest of the world to fall in love with his music, like I did.”

JESSE will be seen performing the music from ROOTS ROCK REBEL including previous singles “Pray” and the pro-labor and unionization anthem “Back Against The Wall” as he joins longtime touring partners and friends DROPKICK MURPHYS on their headlining U.S. tour this fall alongside The Interrupters. THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT combine modern rock anthems with emo-drenched pop-punk melodies which have garnered them a diverse and unwavering fanbase who consider themselves “outcasts” and relate to the band’s over-the-top theatrics and uncompromising music. Lauded as one of Alternative Press100 Bands You Need to Know,” THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT have today (September 22) shared the new track “Dark Thoughts.” Available digitally, the anthemic “Dark Thoughts” has lyrics that cater to getting rid of the paranoia that can go through your head with the catchy verse: “Can’t drink, Can’t drug, Can’t drown ‘em away / I can’t sleep, Can’t think, Can’t find an escape / From these dark, dark thoughts in my mind.” Stream/download “Dark ThoughtsHERE. Watch the music video for “Dark Thoughts” streaming below or via YouTube HERE.

“‘Dark Thoughts’ is a fun and energetic song meant to highlight our own mental health struggles,” states vocalist LEE JENNINGS. “It is deeply rooted in feeling trapped in your own head, like you have no one to reach out to who would understand or have an answer.” He adds: “It’s a statement both about the band and our fans. Depression, anxiety and mental health crisis events are a ubiquitous experience for us and the people who connect with our art. It can be such a terrifying and daunting task to try to overcome, but we hope that by connecting with others, we can support each other as a community in times when things seem the most bleak.”

THE FUNERAL PORTRAITLEE JENNINGS (vocals), CODY WEISSINGER (guitar), CALEB FREIHAUT (guitar/auxiliary), ROBERT WESTON (bass), and HOMER UMBANHOWER (drums)—further showcase their extravagant antics with each live performance, or as they call them “devotion ceremonies,” utilizing full theatrics, stage décor, costumed actors and more. The band are currently out on the “Emo Dreams” tour across the U.S. and Canada with Icon For Hire, Conquer Divide, and Concrete Castles and will celebrate Devil’s Night (October 30) with a special show in Detroit, MI at Saint Andrews Hall with Twiztid. The band recently opened for Ice Nine Kills at their “Silver Scream Concert” as part of the Silver Scream Con and have previously toured with acts including Shinedown, Underoath, Skillet, Bad Wolves, From Ashes To New, Starset, and Pvris along with performing on the Inkcarceration Festival main stage. NYC-based trio NEVRLANDS touch on their humble beginnings, authentic hardships and down to earth way of life to craft timeless and sincere music that provides listeners with a positive escape and emotional release. Their lyrics consist of relatable themes including love, loss, struggle, triumph, strength, mental health, and self-acceptance, which intertwine succinctly with their unique sonic blend of in-your-face rock n’ roll, grooving alternative, and captivating pop sounds.

The NEVRLANDS trio—vocalist OKAN KAZDAL, guitarist LOUIE MALPELI, and drummer MIKEY PITTELLI—today (September 22) release their debut full-length LP TIMELESS via Better Noise Music. TIMELESS features two completely sonically and musically different producers/teams: alternative/indie rock team HEAVY (The Dirty Heads, Andrew McMahon and the Wilderness, lovelytheband), and ZK Productions (Jimmy Eat World, Mayday Parade, Cartel, All Time Low). Mixing was also divided between Jay Baumgardner (Bush, Seether, Helmet) in Los Angeles, CA and Nick ‘Squids’ Squillante (Hozier, Aloe Blacc, Dirty Heads) in Brooklyn, NY, who also mastered the entire album. Stream/download TIMELESS now digitally or grab a copy on CD (pictured below) HERE.

NEVRLANDS have shared the lyric video for title track “Timeless” streaming below or available directly on YouTube HERE. It follows two previously released songs: “Chemicals” and the debut track “Stay” which Wolf In A Suit praised stating, “There’s something about the track that just hits the spot from the moment you press play…It’s a one-of-a-kind soundscape bound to be a fan favorite and a perfect way to explore the magic of their infectious sound.”

“‘Timeless’ for us is the defining song of the album,” shares NEVRLANDS collectively. “It’s the song that started it all for us, the first domino to fall. At the time it was written, it was our first foray into a new sound and a new energy for Nevrlands, making it a perfect fit for the album title track. ‘Timeless’ is a song about reigniting your passions and releasing yourself from the restraints of time to fulfill your purpose in life.It fully illustrates the spirit of Nevrlands.”

NEVRLANDS have previously toured across the U.S. on Vans Warped Tour as well as opening for acts including Allstar Weekend and Jake Miller. The trio will host a special record release show on Saturday, October 28 in Amityville, NY at Amityville Music Hall for fans 16+ at 4:30pm followed by an intimate 21+ after party and hang with the band which includes an open bar and food at Nostalgia Bar in Bethpage, NY. It also includes the newly streaming track “Devil In Disguise”. Watch the lyric video for “Devil In Disguise” streaming below or HERE.

“We worked so hard on this album; in 2020 we were all ready to release it, then the world shut down and put the brakes on everything,” shares vocalist EVA MARIE. “We had to start all over again in 2022 and now, a year after the release of ‘Love, Drugs & Misery,’ we are looking back and realizing what a wild, amazing ride it’s been. We’re out here playing in front of thousands of fans all around the world and hearing our songs on the radio! This deluxe album has all the things… a never heard before cover, songs that didn’t make it on the original album and some re-mixes too. So, to celebrate the first birthday of ‘Love, Drugs & Misery,’ we thought fans would love to hear all of that together on one special edition. Thank you to all of our fans! We hope you love it!”

To co-align with the deluxe release, EVA UNDER FIRE are excited to reveal the original version of LOVE, DRUGS & MISERY will be offered on vinyl for the first-ever time. A special yellow variant pressing will be released via Better Noise Music on December 8; pre-orders are now available HERE.

Earlier this week, the band announced the release of a limited-edition “Unstoppable” t-shirt as part of Spotify’s “Band Shirt Day.” EVA UNDER FIRE have partnered with the non-profit organization Covenant House that provides shelter and resources to youth facing homelessness and will be donating a portion of proceeds to their cause.

“Covenant House always appreciates when members of our community choose to share our mission and our work with others, especially when their network is loyal like that of Eva Under Fire,” says Covenant House International CEO BILL BEDROSSIAN. “We are grateful to be a part of the campaign, which is so fitting for the youth at Covenant House who have faced challenges and have worked so hard to rise from adversity now and in the future.”

Several of these artists, in addition to artists who collaborated on his 2022 KIDS AGAINST THE MONSTERS EP shared praise for HYRO as quoted below.

“I’m incredibly honored. Hyro is a truly amazing artist and I had a blast working with him. This track is exactly what the world needs right now. It’s time to believe again.”
David Draiman (Disturbed)

“It’s always nice to collaborate with up-and-coming talent, especially when you’re a genuine fan. I was stoked to hop on this song with Hyro The Hero. He embodies what a true artist is meant to do: make you feel something. This song is a great reminder that we’re stronger together when facing our demons.”
– Corey Taylor

“A fireball of energy, a sharp lyricist and an infectious personality. If you haven’t heard of HYRO already you’ve been missing out! This new album is catchy, groove laden, fun and full of talent. Best enjoyed at loud volumes!”
-Benjamin Bruce (Asking Alexandria)

Produced by Matt Good (Asking Alexandria, Hollywood Undead), BOUND FOR GLORY’s 12 tracks consist of a trendsetting hybrid of hip-hop and hard rock spiked with punk topped with unbreakable lyricism and undeniable choruses. Stream/download BOUND FOR GLORY now digitally or grab a copy on CD or Coke Bottle Green vinyl (pictured below) at https://hyrothehero.ffm.to/boundforglory.

Reflecting on his new album, HYRO says “Issues may arise when you feel it in your gut that you were meant to do something great. It’s not a matter of ‘if,’ it’s a matter of ‘when.’ All obstacles and failures are lessons down the road to achieve what you set out for. Some may reach them before you, but that is their story not yours. I live this; being in this industry for so long and seeing others surpass me on my journey doesn’t matter; I know, in my heart, I’m ‘Bound for Glory.’”

“I had such a blast getting in the studio recording ‘Fight’ with Hyro. The verses he wrote were so compelling to me. I knew right when I heard it, that this is the track I wanted to be a part of – I’m so proud of Hyro and this track. And it’s always nice when the melody and lyrics write themselves. That’s always the sign of a great song.
– Chad Gray (HELLYEAH)

HYRO has today released the music video for the album’s pummeling title track, “Bound For Glory (feat. Markus Videsäter of Solence).” Watch it streaming below or via YouTube HERE.

Hyro first got put on my radar maybe seven years ago by a good friend Fred Archambault. Since then I sort of had my eye on what he was doing. Last summer we did the Disrupt Festival with Hyro and he blew me away at every show. His energy was amazing and we immediately hit it off. When the opportunity came to be on a track with him I had no hesitations. This song has such a vibe to it and has so much power and I’m stoked to be a part of it.”
Brandon Saller (Atreyu)

All I kept hearing from my people is how sick Hyro the Hero is so I checked him out at The Viper Room…it reminded me of the first time I saw Rage Against the Machine. It was just off the chain unbridled energy, and I knew I wanted to be a part of and was lucky enough to be asked.” – Spencer Charnas (Ice Nine Kills)

Long before mosh pits regularly broke out at rap shows and metal samples abounded throughout the culture, HYRO THE HERO was collaborating with members of At The Drive-In and Blood Brothers as well as era-defining producer Ross Robinson (Slipknot, Korn) on his independently released EP BIRTH, SCHOOL, WORK, DEATH in 2011. The latter generated applause from BBC, Kerrang!, and Alternative Press who touted him as one of “19 Underrated Bands From The 2010s Who Deserve Another Listen.” In its wake, he blasted off with “Bullet,” posting north of 15 million-plus streams and paving the way for his 2018 debut album FLAGGED CHANNEL. He asserted himself as the rare outlier who could shine on a track with Hollywood Undead, Lil’ Keke, and AWOLNATION or Islander, Fozzy, and James “Munky” Shaffer of Korn. Flexing his versatility, he featured on “Cheatcode” by Black Tiger Sex Machine x Hairitage, generating 7.3 million Spotify streams. Meanwhile, his 2022 KIDS AGAINST THE MONSTERS EP via Better Noise Music boasted an assist from Corey Taylor of Slipknot, and the legendary Mötley Crüe tapped him for “Who’s That Playing On The Radio?” for THE RETALIATORS ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK. At the same time, he packed houses on his own and became a festival favorite at Welcome to Rockville, Carolina Rebellion, Shiprocked!, and more

“‘Head Under Water’ is as authentic and real as a song can get. The second I heard this track; I knew I needed to be a part of it. Feeding off of the raw rock energy, I dug deep to bring as many melodic and off the wall guitar elements to the table as I possibly could. Playing through a slurred drunken swagger, the solo and guitar playing gets more concise and razor sharp as the song progresses. Hyro and Reddstar spit the sickest flows and heaviest lyrics I’ve ever heard, and that meant that I needed to do the same. Considering that moments before I started write and record, I got a call from my doctor with the most terrifying medical news that a person could get – I poured myself into this solo, and into this song. I know ‘Head Under Water’ will hit you like it hit me, because this feeling is so real for so many of us.”
– Dan Sugarman (Ice Nine Kills)

“I knew when I heard this track that we had something. Not only does the song have a lot of meaning but I like how me and Hyro approached it from our own perspectives. I do believe when people listen to this that so many will be able to connect or relate to it on multiple levels.”
– Reddstar

MICKI FREE— the Grammy-winning musical artist, 5X Native American Music Award-winner, 2022 The Native American Music Awards Hall of Fame inductee, and member of Shalamar USA—has been chosen to be an official “Envoy” for the World Culture Festival the Olympic-scale, free-to-the-public (with website registration) unity celebration. Founded by Indian guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, it is taking place September 29-October 1 at The National Mall in Washington, DC. On the event’s opening day, FREE will lead the “1,000+ Guitar Ensemble” in a performance of his new single, “We Are One,” on September 29 at The National Mall in Washington, DC. See further details HERE.

We Are One” was written, produced, and arranged by FREE specifically for the World Culture Festival. He performs lead vocals and lead & rhythm guitar with assistance from longtime friend and collaborator Cindy Blackman-Santana (drums), Ken Riley (bass, backing vocals) and Lila Gale (backing vocals). It’s out digitally today on Spotify (HERE) or Apple Music (HERE) along with a serene, picturesque lyric video seen streaming below or directly via YouTube HERE.

FREE, who recently relocated to Las Vegas, NV and has a monthly residency every first Monday at Backstage Bar & Billiards, will perform “We Are One” live on the “Morning Blend” show on Vegas’ ABC Affiliate KTNV (Channel 13) on September 13 (the show airs from 9:00-10:00 AM).

“I met with Sri Sri Gurudev Ravi Shankar and his message moved me to want to join him in getting our human beings to understand ‘We Are One,’ shares FREE. “That all peoples of the world are united as ONE…we should love and care about each other, and there’s no cosmic meaning, my message is in the lyric; simple; ‘WE ARE ONE.’”

FREE elaborates on how the World Culture Festival performance came together, stating: “A good friend of my manager, Heather Loren, invited us to meet Gurudev, as they wanted my help inviting Native American Tribes across our country to join the festival in song and dance. The committee then asked if I would lead the guitar players in song, and I accepted, then I did one better and WROTE them the song we will all be performing! We as indigenous peoples need to take the stage on opening day and show the world our positive energy!”

“We are honored we were asked to be part of such a worldly, heartfelt positive joining of cultures from all parts of the globe,” says FREE. “I’m excited to perform on the global stage and see other performers as well! It will be like a world love & peace party, sharing peace and harmony, asking the world to please come together as one.”

Today (September 8), 3x-Grammy-nominated and gold-certified rock act NOTHING MORE release the deluxe version of their critically acclaimed 2022 album SPIRITS via BETTER NOISE MUSIC. SPIRITS–DELUXE VERSION features six bonus tracks including three live recordings—the first-ever live releases from the group—captured from their sold-out headlining concert at Irving Plaza in New York, New York. There’s also an EDM remix of “TIRED OF WINNING” by AHEE & Cymek and two previously released updated singles including “BEST TIMES” featuring Lacey Sturm of Flyleaf. Stream and/or download SPIRITS–DELUXE VERSION now HERE.

“This is our first-ever, OFFICIAL release, of live recordings from an electric night in NYC,” says frontman JONNY HAWKINS. “The relationship we have with our fans is exceptional and the energy from that night really shines through the recordings.  We also have an EDM remix of ‘Tired of Winning,’ an acoustic take on ‘Best Times,’ and last but not least…a duet with the one and only Lacey Sturm from Flyleaf.”

NOTHING MOREHawkins (vocals), Mark Vollelunga (guitar), Daniel Oliver (bass), and Ben Anderson (drums)—have also shared the new music video for their snarling, fist-raising anthem “FACE IT (LIVE).” Watch it streaming below or via YouTube HERE.

“‘FACE IT’ illustrates a very similar narrative to the amazing story ‘Life of Pi’ by Yann Matel,” elaborates HAWKINS. “There are times in our lives when we need to let our dark passenger take control so we can ‘Face It.’  Just like when Pi becomes the tiger when survival is on the line.  It’s a pumped up, epic anthem designed to give one the courage to silence their inner angel in order to face their demons; to call on the shadow from the bitter side of truth because the reality is that we are all angels and animals.  That’s what makes us human.  We are not one or the other, but rather both simultaneously and we know this transformation can’t rely on anyone but ourselves.

Tonight (September 8), NOTHING MORE will kick off the second leg of their “SPIRITS 2023” headlining tour in Nashville, TN with support from DEAD POET SOCIETY, HYRO THE HERO (rap-rocker and Better Noise Music labelmate), and POST PROFIT. The Live Nation-produced tour stretches until September 25 and will see “Best Times” guest vocalist Lacey Sturm (Flyleaf) join as direct support on the September 14 show in Dallas, TX at The Factory. Tickets and limited VIP meet & greet upgrades are available at https://nothingmore.net/.

ABOUT NOTHING MORE
Rock audiences count NOTHING MORE among the most cherished acts, the kind of band who straddle the line between populism and intimacy with every performance. The San Antonio, Texas-born quartet builds unapologetically massive anthems from catchy hooks. Crowd-pleasers clear a path for heady, confessional, thought-provoking emotionalism. Fresh rewards reveal themselves with repeat listens, welcoming like-minded seekers with rich melodicism, like the best of Deftones or Tool.

Those who saw the band on tour with hard rock heavyweights like Shinedown, Five Finger Death Punch, Breaking Benjamin, Papa Roach, and Disturbed will attest to what The Guardian observed: “There’s a sophistication to NOTHING MORE’s angst that raises them above the tumult-tossed pit.”

Kerrang! named NOTHING MORE one of 22 Artists Shaping the Future of Rock, alongside Nine Inch Nails, Twenty One Pilots, and Bring Me The Horizon. And frontman Jonny Hawkins, who met guitarist Mark Vollelunga before they were old enough to drive, appeared with Billie Joe Armstrong, Dave Grohl, and Hayley Williams in the English tastemaker’s Top 50 Greatest Rockstars in the World.

Globally acclaimed Mongolian rock outfit THE HU will bring their warrior anthems and galvanizing live performance to audiences along the West Coast later this fall. Today (August 30), the group announced a headlining run of dates following the completion of their co-headlining U.S. “Psycho Thunder” tour with Asking Alexandria from August 30 until October 8. The headlining “Warrior Souls” US tour begins October 9 in San Francisco with support TBA and stretches until its final stop on October 26 in Phoenix, AZ. Throughout both tours, THE HU will perform a full 65-minute set showcasing their viral hit singles from their two Better Noise Music albums: 2019’s THE GEREG and 2022’s RUMBLE OF THUNDER, in addition to giving attendees a first listen to previously unheard new music. Tickets for the “Warrior Souls” tour go on sale this Friday, September 1 at 10:00 A.M. local time HERE.

THE HU have also announced plans to release a new music video for RUMBLE OF THUNDER’s somber yet anthemic track “Sell The World” in the coming weeks via Better Noise Music. Watch a teaser clip of the video streaming below or via the band’s YouTube HERE. “Sell The World” examines humans’ careless impact on the earth and reinforces the band’s plea to restore a respect for nature. This sentiment is a main message throughout THE HU’s music and one they’ve continued to raise awareness for as appointed UNESCO “Artist of Peace” designees for 2023. THE HU recently announced plans to plant 12,000 Siberian Elm trees in the desert-barren area of Southeastern Mongolia in the shape of the band’s logo in partnership with the environmental institution, SHAMBALE2056 Engineering Campus, LLC.

To date, THE HU have amassed over 329 million combined streams across digital platforms, 290 million video views, two Top 5 Mainstream Rock charting radio singles and a RIAA Gold Certification for 2019’s groundbreaking viral single, “Wolf Totem. The band have sold-out worldwide headlining tours and appeared at the world’s biggest music festivals (Download, Coachella, Lollapalooza) all while receiving critical acclaim from the likes of NPR, GQ, The Guardian, The Independent, Revolver and Billboard, along with garnering a celebrity fanbase including Sir Elton John, Whoopi Goldberg and Wayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.

Founded in 2016 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, THE HU are a modern rock group rooted in the tradition of their homeland.
