Look for BILLY MORRISON to release THE MORRISON PROJECT—his third solo album and first since 2015—on April 19 via TLG/VIRGIN MUSIC GROUP.

The British guitarist, singer, and songwriter—primarily known as Billy Idol’s rhythm guitar player for the past 15 years alongside lead guitarist Steve Stevens, and for his previous role as bassist in The Cult—has assembled an electrifying 12 songs including guest performances by Ozzy Osbourne, Billy Idol, DMC, Al Jourgensen, Steve Vai, Steve Stevens, Linda Perry, Tommy Clufetos, John5, and more. THE MORRISON PROJECT was produced by Billy Morrison, mixed by Barry Pointer, and mastered by Dave Donnelly. All the songs on the album—recorded in Los Angeles at various studios—were written by Billy Morrison in collaboration with his guests.

“One of the greatest things about writing this album was being able to let my guest singers do their own thing,” says MORRISON. I would send them the track with no guidelines and just had them do whatever they felt. I think that gave those songs an energy and a life force that would not be there if I had tried to get involved in their lyrics or their melodies. And I loved everything they all did!”

He adds: “With the songs that I sing on this record, I wanted to write from an observational standpoint about the state of the world, the news outlets, the information flow (or lack of it) and the general sense of dis-ease that seems to be all-pervading right now.”

How did THE MORRISON PROJECT come together? “I truly believe that making music without any preconceptions or goals yields the most creative and enjoyable results. And that is exactly how this record came to life. Making music with Erik (Eldenius) and Jeordie (White) during Covid, and mixing different musical styles started my journey towards this collection of songs that ended up featuring a lot of my friends.”

Southern California alternative rock outfit DIRTY HEADS spent the summer touring across the U.S. on the headlining “Island Glow” tour and are excited to share a new live- recorded version of their hit single “John Linen” which features rapper Yelawolf who was featured as an opening act on the first leg of the tour. ABOUT DIRTY HEADS
Since 2003, Dirty Heads have mixed hip-hop, reggae, and rock to create a unique sound that both fully embodies their Southern California roots and resonates with audiences around the globe. Nearly twenty years ago, the group formed when punk rocker Dustin Bushnell (aka Duddy B) asked his friend, rapper Jared Watson (aka Dirty J), to collaborate on a project that would focus on positive vibes and infectious grooves. Watson added singing to his vocal skills, and with percussionist Jon Olazabal, an acoustic trio version of Dirty Heads began playing shows and building an audience.

In 2008, they released the acclaimed album Any Port in a Storm, with a deluxe edition following in 2010. The deluxe version featured the track “Lay Me Down” with special guest Rome Ramirez of Sublime with Rome. The song reached number one on Billboard’s Alternative Songs in May 2010, and nine weeks later it established a record as the song with the longest stint atop the chart for an independently released title.

They followed up two years later with Cabin by the Sea and later recorded an acoustic version of the title track. This, in turn, led to an entire acoustic album in 2013 called Home: Phantoms of Summer. Dirty Heads’ next album, Sound of Change, would prove to be a breakthrough for the now-veteran band, debuting at #8 on the Billboard Top 200 while topping the Independent and Alternative Albums charts upon its May 2014 release.

Building on their renewed success, Dirty Heads enlisted a bevy of industry hitmakers to work on their self-titled 2016 follow-up, which — thanks to its mainstream appeal — again charted high on the Billboard Top 200. The following year saw the band drop its sixth studio album, Swim Team, featuring the singles “Vacation,” in its original form, and “Staloney.” The band’s global appeal reached new heights in 2021, when their hit “Vacation” (originally released in 2017) garnered over four billion views and streams across social media via the ubiquitous #VacationTransition challenge that originated organically with users on TikTok. The song, with an increase of 850% in consumption on Spotify in the past year, took on a new life in many ways, introducing Dirty Heads to new international fans by the millions. They celebrated with a series of remixes and new renditions of the track to kick-off summer 2021 with their The Best of Dirty Heads album in 2021 via Better Noise Music which included collaborations with Travis Barker and Aimee Interrupter of The Interrupters.

TOTALLY TUBULAR FESTIVAL will debut in 17 markets across North America starting June 28 in Santa Barbara, CA and wrapping up July 27 in Cincinnati, OH, it was announced today (January 4).

The festival features artists that exploded in the pop culture zeitgeist in the early to mid-1980’s thanks mainly to the high rotation of their music videos on MTV; the genre has also seen a resurgence in popularity in recent years. The artists performing on the 2024 tour include THOMAS DOLBY, THOMPSON TWINS’ TOM BAILEY, MODERN ENGLISH, MEN WITHOUT HATS, THE ROMANTICS, BOW WOW WOW, TOMMY TUTONE (select markets), and THE PLIMSOULS.

“This is a dream lineup for those who love the music of the early 1980’s, and for those who want to relive the days when life was…plain and simply–a total party,” says Jon Pleeter, CPO (Chief Party Officer) of TOTALLY TUBULAR FESTIVAL. “You wore dayglow, you wore parachute pants, you had big hair, perms and more perms, mullets, leg warmers, along with tons of buttons and lots of rubber bracelets. You wore sunglasses at night. The choruses were big, and the hooks were bigger—the party didn’t end.”

Coming off a dynamic 2023 which saw the release of his acclaimed collaborations album ACCOMPLICE TWO, a Grammy nomination, and “Lifetime Achievement” Award from The National GUITAR Museum, TOMMY EMMANUEL is starting 2024 where he brilliantly shines—on the stage—with his infectious guitar virtuosity and charismatic personality.

This past December, The National GUITAR Museum bestowed TOMMY with its annual “Lifetime Achievement” Award for 2023. He’s the fourteenth recipient of the award that most recently (2022) celebrated Jeff Beck.

“To watch Tommy play fingerstyle guitar is to see possibilities in the guitar that most guitarists don’t even know exist,” according to HP Newquist, the executive director of The National GUITAR Museum. “Tommy’s extraordinary skill is second to none among modern guitar players. He truly is one of the few players in history about whom the term “jaw-dropping” is perfectly suited. Over his decades-long career he has become both an icon and an inspiration, and we’re honored to be able to recognize Tommy’s contribution to the guitar with this award.”

Said TOMMY: “I want to thank the National Guitar Museum for this wonderful honor. I feel like it was yesterday when I started playing this beautiful instrument,” said Tommy. “I will always be grateful to my parents for nurturing us kids as youngsters, encouraging us and exposing us to good music, and the artists who exemplified the words “Talented Entertainers”. The guitar has taken me places I could never have dreamed of, introduced me to audiences all over the world that I now have a relationship with, and kept that fire burning in my belly, to keep trying to learn more, play better, write deeper and give it all up on stage to the people I love playing for. I owe so much to so many who came before me and laid it all out. We, the lucky generation, have big shoes to fill.”

ABOUT TOMMY EMMANUEL:

TOMMY EMMANUEL has achieved enough musical milestones to satisfy several lifetimes. At the age of six, he was touring regional Australia with his family band. By 30, he was a rock n’ roll lead guitarist burning up stadiums in Europe. At 44, he became one of five people ever named a CPG (Certified Guitar Player) by his idol, music icon Chet Atkins. Today, he plays hundreds of sold-out shows every year from Nashville to Sydney to London. He’s piled up numerous accolades, including two Grammy Award nominations, two ARIA Awards from the Australian Recording Industry Association (the Aussie equivalent of the Recording Academy); repeated honors in the Guitar Player magazine reader’s poll including a cover story for their August 2017 issue; a cover feature for Vintage Guitar’s July 2020 issue; and was Music Radar’s reader’s poll #1 winner of the Ten Best Acoustic Guitarists in The World (December 2019). A noted fingerstyle guitarist, EMMANUEL frequently threads three different parts simultaneously into his material, operating as a one-man band who handles the melody, the supporting chords and the bass all at once. His talents, which translate in any language, carry him to the far corners of the globe, but EMMANUEL never plays the same show twice, and he improvises big chunks of every date. That leaves him open to those technical imperfections, though they also provide some of the humanity to an other-worldly talent. ABOUT CLAYTON SHAY

Nashville-based artist Clayton Shay is known for his clever, narrative songwriting, fusing elements of pop, alt-rock, and Southern roots rock into his compelling country sound. Inspired by vocalists like Chris Young and Keith Whitley, his effortless country-pop ballads reveal a knack for dynamic storytelling, each supported by a cinematic music video—many of which have been featured on CMT. Shay fronted several rock bands and performed solo acoustic sets in Illinois before his songwriting led him to Nashville in 2018, where he joined international country-rock act Blackjack Billy, playing bass to crowds of 30,000+ on their Canadian and US tours. In 2019, he shifted focus to his solo career and dropped his debut single “Girl Like You” in 2020, a catchy, country-pop love song that quickly racked up over a million streaming plays. ABOUT TREY LEWIS

With a pair of home-grown hits behind him and plenty more in the tank, River House Artists/Sony Music Publishing singer-songwriter Trey Lewis has emerged as the straight-talking, salt-of-the-earth hero country fans crave. A Birmingham, Alabama, native known for breaking country’s unspoken rules, he’s spent 12 years on the road perfecting a gritty mix of contemporary country and Southern rock – and turning his call-it-like-I-see it attitude into song. After the breakout smash, “Dicked Down In Dallas,” went viral in 2020, Lewis’ cheating anthem with a modern punch has turned into an organic Number One on iTunes, garnering more than 100 million streams and making Lewis a nationwide force in the process. He followed up with another self-styled iTunes Number One in 2022 – the back-in-the-saddle anthem, “Single Again” – and has continued building a reputation fusing country horsepower with refreshing honesty and a troubadour’s wit ever since. But that reputation now broadens, as a bigger picture comes into view. Set for release in 2023, the perennial underdog and relentless road warrior will showcase his true character and full artistry on Troublemaker, adding a hard-earned sense of compassion to his full-length Nashville debut. ABOUT CORT CARPENTER

Many say the Pacific Northwest “Isn’t Country”. But Cort Carpenter begs to differ. A decade in Nashville has proven to be very successful for this Washington State boy. An indie artist on the rise, Cort continues to wow audiences and listeners around the world. Cort has been nominated for 5 consecutive years at the JMA’s (world’s biggest indie music awards) and won “Male Entertainer of the Year” in 2017. Although unsigned, his dedication and competitiveness have landed him on the main stage on many of the biggest country music festivals nationwide. Cort was also recently featured at Live Nation’s (Watershed Music Festival) on the “Next from Nashville stage”. As he continues accomplish the near impossible as an indie artist, Cort continues to gain more attention from industry folks in Music City.

On the music front, Cort has released a ton of music since his arrival in 2012, and many say has the most underrated original release catalog in Nashville. Approaching his 50th song release, Cort released his first full length album on February 10th. Titled “All In”, and including many of Nashville powerhouse songwriters (Gorley, Robbins, Smyers, Mooney, Johnston, Sorestad, etc…), the album includes 10 songs. “This album I feel encapsulates my voice, sound, and vibe that best represents Cort Carpenter. So much thought, effort, love, and time went into this album, I’m hopeful it’s heard by the right people who will take the chance on me and run with it. I’ve went all-in on this record.”

Before the release of this album, Cort’s released multiple EP’s and numerous singles. “My entire catalog I feel is diverse but stays true to who I am. It’s neat to have such a large selection of tunes that my fans all say they have different favorites. That means I’m doing something right by appealing to everyone”.

Having played over 1,000+ shows over the past decade, Cort’s live performance is one you won’t want to miss on tour or when he’s performing in Nashville next time you visit. On the home front, Cort enjoys hanging out with family and spending time with his wife, Kelly, whom he married on May 17th, 2014. In June 2021 Cort & Kelly had their first child, a boy, named Lux. “Fatherhood is the greatest thing I have ever experienced. Cort also heads his own foundation, Cort Carpenter Cares, which launched in 2015. This organization assists homeless animals & humans.

Having already confirmed the return of “Decades Rock Live,” the show producers of FanTracks today announced the debut of the reboot of the series with the two-hour director’s cut of the “Decades Rock Live: Chicago & Friends” concert film airing Saturday, December 16 as a PPV event at FANTRACKS. Recorded this past November at Ovation Hall at the Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City, NJ, the “Decades Rock Live: Chicago & Friends” marks the return of DECADES, the critically acclaimed and award-winning concert TV experience that features legendary bands performing with today’s hottest artists.

Producer Barry Summers worked directly with co-producer, Chicago’s Lee Loughnane and each guest artist, choosing the songs and arranging the selections for their participation. Loughnane also acted as music director and managed the post-production audio mix for the Director’s Cut, as he will for all subsequent releases.

“Decades Rock Live: Chicago & Friends” was filmed on a custom-built LED stage set featuring newly produced 3D animated visuals with over 30, 4k cameras; it’s an exclusive Chicago show unlike any other show they’ve ever performed on tour. The band perform their greatest hits with some very special guests, including guitar virtuoso Steve Vai paying tribute to the band’s original lead guitarist, Terry Kath. Other guests include Chris Daughtry, Robert Randolph, Robin Thicke, VoicePlay, Judith Hill and Christone “Kingfish” Ingram. The special also celebrates the 55th Anniversary of Chicago’s groundbreaking double-Platinum debut album, CHICAGO TRANSIT AUTHORITY; the band play songs from the classic album that have not been played since the untimely death of Terry Kath, along with the band’s greatest hits. The set will also include “unplugged” versions of some of Chicago’s classic tunes.

Additional details are in motion for a theatrical release, a full film broadcast, and a PBS pledge-drive special all in 2024. More information will be announced in the new year.
