EXECUTIVE TIME”TRACK HERALDS ALBUM RELEASE
VIDEO AVAILABLE HERE

Throughout this summer and autumn, “The Simpsons” and “Spinal Tap” star HARRY SHEARER has been releasing a song a week (via YouTube), in which he performs as Donald Trump, in order to explore the dark and often comical recesses of the president’s mind during his time in office. Today, it is revealed that the complete collection of these tracks will be released this autumn as a full album. THE MANY MOODS OF DONALD TRUMP, which comprises 13 tracks, hits the shelves October 30, just three days before the U.S. goes to the polls.

“America has never had a President so demanding of our continued attention. I decided to give him too much of mine.”
Harry Shearer

The album announcement coincides with the release of the latest addition to the song cycle. “Executive Time and its accompanying motion-capture video, is a languorous love of leisure ballad, in which SHEARER as Trump sings wistfully of those long periods of contemplation and nothingness between unnecessary briefings from so-called ‘experts.’ In “Executive Time” SHEARER poses, and goes some way, to answer SHEARER‘s question:

When does the President get the time to watch all the TV news? It’s a big section of his daily schedule.”

The accompanying video for “Executive Time” uses ground-breaking motion-capture animation to portray the U.S. president in ‘do not disturb’ mode as he watches his flat screen, fine tunes his golf swing, practices his signature, stares moodily through his window and does all the other things befitting the most powerful man in the world as he goes about his daily business. It follows the motion-capture video for “Son In Law,” which launched the song series, showing Trump both behind his desk in the Oval Office and as he addresses the gathered press corps on the White House lawn, while lionizing his senior advisor and husband of his daughter Ivanka.

The entertainment journalist Louis Chilton, writing in The Independent (UK), was so impressed by the “Son In Law” video that he described the singing Trump as:

“…possibly the most horrifying thing I’ve ever seen”

HARRY SHEARER has vocally portrayed every U.S. president of his lifetime. Donald Trump is the third he has portrayed physically, having previously played Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan on screen.

Executive Time will be featured as the sixth track from THE MANY MOODS OF DONALD TRUMP.

The “Executive Time” video was made covid-style with HARRY in isolation in Los Angeles, being filmed by Matt Mindlin remotely with a production team in Sydney, Australia headed by Matt Hermans (Electric Lens Co) and Michela Ledwidge (MOD studio).

The full THE MANY MOODS OF DONALD TRUMP listing is as follows:

1. I Can’t Believe I’m Me (4:22)

To be released October 9

2. I Can’t Drive Anymore (2:35)
To be released on October 2
3. Son-in-Law (3:42)

Shearer Trump performing an old style New Orleans number in praise his senior advisor, Jared Kushner. Always mentioned as one of Trump’s top aides, Jared Kushner has been given a portfolio that ranges from Middle-East peace to the pandemic.  His success rate speaks for itself.

Strings, bass, trumpet and string arrangement: CJ Vanston

5. Bill of Love(4:02)

6. Executive Time (3:35)

Backing Vocals: Sharlotte Gibson, CJ Vanston
Drums: Toss Panos
Keyboards, Trombone, all other instruments: CJ Vanston

7. I Never Knew Him (3:09)
Available to listen to here
An eclectic musical mix in which Trump demonstrates that he might not have “one of the greatest memories of all time” as he purges his contact book and airbrushes his history of those who may be an impediment to his ratings. A very famous guy has so many people claiming to be his friends or family. It’s always important to clear the air.

Music and lyrics by Harry Shearer
Lead Vocal: Harry Shearer
Backing Vocals: Sharlotte Gibson, CJ Vanston
Trumpet: Jim Gammon
Drums: Toss Panos
Keyboards, Trombone, all other instruments: CJ Vanston

8. Very Stable Genius(4:09)

A power ballad in which Trump vaunts his own intellectual prowess combined with his calm and balanced disposition. When a person refers to himself with that phrase once, it’s newsworthy.  When he does it repeatedly, it’s song- worthy.

Music and words by Harry Shearer
Lead Vocal: Harry Shearer
BG Vocals: CJ Vanston
Guitars: Marc Bonilla
Drums: Toss Panos
Keyboards, all other instruments: CJ Vanston

9. Number One Son(2:51)

Available to listen to here
An electric chop suey, listing all Donald Jr.’s qualities and Trump’s new-found love for the boy who serves him well. The apple doesn’t fall far from the refrigerator.

Music and lyrics by Harry Shearer
Lead Vocal: Harry Shearer
BG Vocals; Sharlotte Gibson, CJ Vanston
Guitars: Marc Bonilla
Drums: Toss Panos
Keyboards, all other instruments: CJ Vanston

10. Alabama (3:22)

Available to listen to here
A southern rock tribute to the state that holds a special place in the President’s “heart.” The trouble with official hurricane forecast maps is that they don’t often include Sharpie additions. When it’s the state that gave your Presidential campaign its kickoff, a Sharpie warning is the least you can do.

Music and lyrics by Harry Shearer
Lead Vocal: Harry Shearer
BG Vocals: CJ Vanston
Harmonica: Howard Levy
Guitars: Mark Bonilla
Drums: Toss Panos
Keyboards, all other instruments: CJ Vanston

11. COVID-180 (4:47)

Available to listen to here
Alternating stanzas of pumped-up disco and plaintive folk rock to represent the alternating “up” and “down” approaches taken to the pandemic by the President. Emerson once said, “Petty consistency is the hobgoblin of small minds.” Trump agrees, though he may not quite understand it.

Music and words by Harry Shearer
Lead Vocal: Harry Shearer
BG vocals: Sharlotte Gibson, CJ Vanston
Guitars: Marc Bonilla
Drums: Toss Panos

12. Acquittal (3:58)

Available to listen to here
A “prog rock revenge anthem,” in which the president basks in the sheer vitriolic joy on offer when it’s time to settle scores. When you’re impeached, and survive, the natural human impulse is balls-out revenge.

Music and lyrics by Harry Shearer
Lead Vocal: Harry Shearer
Backing Vocals: Sharlotte Gibson, CJ Vanston
Guitars: Marc Bonilla
Drums: Toss Panos
Keyboards, all other instruments: CJ Vanston

“LIVE AT BUDOKAN,”

OZZY OSBOURNE kicked off 2020 with his critically acclaimed #1 rock album ORDINARY MAN–his first new solo album in ten years–and a planned return to the road. And then came the pandemic. Now, fans of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and Grammy®-winning singer and songwriter can enjoy a variety of projects celebrating his legacy this fall. First up was the September 7 premiere of A&E Network’s “Biography: The Nine Lives of Ozzy Osbourne.” He’ll also wrap the year by releasing the 40th anniversary expanded digital edition of his landmark debut album BLIZZARD OF OZZ and digital versions of two classic longform videos, LIVE & LOUD and LIVE AT BUDOKAN.
Initially released on September 20, 1980 in the UK, BLIZZARD OF OZZ marked OZZY‘s debut studio album (following his departure from Black Sabbath); the expanded digital 40th anniversary edition is set for release September 18 on Sony/Legacy. The new package includes OZZY hits: “Crazy Train,” which will hit certified 5x platinum status to coincide with its September release date; the gold-certified (in four countries) “Mr. Crowley” (both of which feature Randy Rhoads on guitar); along with “Suicide Solution,” plus live versions of seven tracks that are currently unavailable digitally. The record was ultimately certified 5x platinum and was ranked #9 on Rolling Stone‘s list of “100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time” in the U.S.; platinum (or multi-platinum) in another 12 countries and gold in an additional 13 countries. BLIZZARD OF OZZ was the first of two studio albums recorded with guitarist Randy Rhoads. The album’s “Crazy Train” went on to become one of OSBOURNE‘s signature tracks; the song has also become one of the most played sports anthems frequently heard at NFL, NBA, MLB & NHL games. It peaked at #9 on Billboard‘s Top Tracks chart upon release–and in 2009, the song achieved a 5× platinum certification. You Said It All(live) was originally found on the 1980 MR CROWLEY live EP, recorded in 1980 at the Gaumont Theater, Southampton, UK and was also not previously available digitally.

Next up are two digital releases of two classic OZZY video releases: LIVE & LOUD and LIVE AT BUDOKAN. The “LIVE & LOUD” home video–originally released on June 28, 1993–was issued alongside the CD. The collection is a compilation of live footage from several shows rather than a single concert. The “LIVE & LOUD” DVD includes guest appearances from OZZY‘s Black Sabbath bandmates (Geezer Butler, bass, Bill Ward, drums and Tony Iommi, guitar), along with his own band from that era (Michael Inez, bass; Randy Castillo, drums; Zakk Wylde, guitar; and Kevin Jones, keyboards). The “LIVE AT BUDOKAN” DVD–released June 25, 2002–was shot earlier that year as part of the 2002 world tour. It features the song “Suicide Solution” and Zakk Wylde‘s accompanying guitar solo. Running in excess of 13 minutes, this track was cut from the CD version because of time restraints. OZZY is backed by his 2002 touring band on “LIVE AT BUDOKAN” DVD: Zakk Wylde, guitars; Robert Trujillo, bass; Mike Bordin, drums; and John Sinclair, keyboards.

Meanwhile, earlier this month, A&E Network debuted “Biography: The Nine Lives of Ozzy Osbourne” which delves into the many lives and incredible career of the man who has personified rock and roll rebellion for decades. “Biography: The Nine Lives of Ozzy Osbourne” traces OZZY‘s life from his childhood in poverty and time in prison, to fronting the iconic Black Sabbath and a successful solo career, to one of rock’s elder statesman and a loveable 21st century television dad. The two-hour documentary explores how OZZY has continually reinvented himself and his career to propel himself toward greater success. As the Grammy-winning artist turns 70, he reflects on the intimate details of his successes, failures, and his unique ability for survival and perseverance–including never-before-seen interviews about his recent Parkinson’s diagnosis. The documentary, a selection of the 2020 SXSW Film Festival, also features interviews with Sharon, Kelly and Jack Osbourne as well as friends and fellow musicians including Rick Rubin, Ice-T, Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie, Jonathan Davis, Post Malone and more. Watch a clip here.

Earlier this year, OZZY‘s ORDINARY MAN album–released in February–marked his first new solo music in almost 10 years. It was the #1 rock album in the world, topping multiple charts in its triumphant first week of release. Worldwide, ORDINARY MAN entered the charts in the Top Ten in seven countries making it the highest-charting album of OZZY‘s career. HARRY SHEARER, as Donald Trump, has just released a new song in a series which runs with a song a week leading up the November election. “I NEVER KNEW HIM” is the seventh track of a song cycle in which the star of “The Simpsons” and “Spinal Tap” explores the often absurd and sometimes sinister vagaries of the presidential mind during his time in office. Listen to the song here and watch the lyric video here.

“I NEVER KNEW HIM” has SHEARER as Trump demonstrating that he might not have “one of the greatest memories of all time” as he purges his contact book and airbrushes his history of those who may be an impediment to his ratings. From Stormy, to Kelly, to Rudy and on, “I NEVER KNEW HIM” proves that, in SHEARER‘s words:

“A very famous guy has so many people claiming to be his friends or family. It’s always important to clear the air.”

The eclectic musical mix features SHEARER on lead vocals as Trump, with backing by Sharlotte Gibson and CJ Vanston, Marc Bonilla on guitar, Toss Panos on drums and CJ Vanston on all other instruments. The track is released by Twanky Records.

“I NEVER KNEW HIM” follows the old-school R&B anthem to Jared Kushner SON IN LAW”; the disco/plaintive folk number celebrating Trump’s consistent inconsistency in his approach to the pandemic “COVID-180“; VERY STABLE GENIUSa low-power power-ballad, in which the leader of the free world vaunts his self-proclaimed intellectual prowess combined with his calm and balanced disposition; “STORMY DANIELS,” a romantic ballad of passion, power and pay off; and last week’s ALABAMA,a southern rock style tribute to the state that holds such a special place in Trump’s “heart”; and “NUMBER ONE SON,”Donald Sr.‘s “electric chop suey” paean to his eldest child Donald Jr.

HARRY SHEARER has vocally portrayed every U.S. president of his lifetime. Donald Trump is the third he has portrayed physically, having previously played Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan on screen.

Harry Shearer says of the series of Trump themed song series:

“My Donald Trump is almost as eager for continued public attention as the ‘real’ Trump.”

THE STRAY CATS:
Q&A
WITH BRIAN SETZER, LEE ROCKER AND SLIM JIM PHANTOM
ABOUT THEIR NEW ALBUM
‘ROCKED THIS TOWN: FROM LA TO LONDON’
You guys know how to capture lightning in a bottle, and the audiences are with you the whole way. What’s the secret to delivering a great Stray Cats show?
BRIAN: The first thing I noticed last summer was that we had spread out on stage.  I guess over the years, as the crowds got bigger, we spread out more.  I discovered we needed to be close together like we were still playing in our garages.  That really brought the band back together. As long as we’re within an ear-shot and eye-shot of each, the magic just happens.
LEE: The secret of the Stray Cats is that every time we hit the stage, it’s with 110% laser focus. Brian, Jim and I challenge each other every night to raise the bar and rock harder!
JIM: The secret of a great Cats show is keeping it rocking and relaxed all at once which is the hardest thing for any band to do, especially in a fast-paced musical style like rockabilly where there’s a fine line between being wild and rocking and being out of control. We’ve done so many shows and know each other so well as musicians that everyone is on the same wavelength with knowing when to let it loose and when to hold it back just a little–that’s what makes any band good. As a band you need to steer the audience and keep them with you all at once–you can’t just go out there and wear everybody out right away!
The track selection on the album adds up to a greatest hits collection and a whole lot more. How do you feel it represents the legacy of The Stray Cats?
BRIAN: Even after a two-and-a half month tour, we barely made a scratch in the amount of cities that you can visit.  I feel we definitely needed a live album so that people who couldn’t make our shows could get to experience a Stray Cats show.  I realized that besides the songs from our new album 40, people were singing along with practically every song.  This represented to me that the Stray Cats were much more than hit records.  We had created life-long fans.
LEE: This live record really captures what we are about. It’s our best songs played with sweat, passion and attitude. It’s the soundtrack of my life.
JIM: We opened the show with “Cat Fight” which is a new song–that sets the tone right away that this is not just some oldies, greatest hits gig. We felt it was very important to have new songs for the tour, and then to open the show with a brand new one is a pretty bad ass move if you ask me–everybody knows the hits are coming, the fun is how you get there.
40 years on, what have you guys learned about each other musically? The band’s chemistry is undeniable, as this live album proves.
BRIAN: Stray Cats play with a lot of dynamics.  This comes from watching each other and listening to each other play onstage.  This can only come from a band that has been together for a long time.  And from guys who grew up on the same block.  I love playing with the boys, and you’ll love listening to this album.
LEE: The Stray Cats are ALL about the chemistry between us. Every night it’s different, every time we hit the stage and play “Rock This Town” or “Stray Cat Strut.” It’s different and unique. It’s the magic, it’s the secret, it’s what make us the Stray Cats.
JIM: Personally, I keep learning how good the other two are! They play so well and I get to listen to it every night–I’m still super into it! We’ve spent a big chunk of our lives doing music together, going back 40 years and if you count Lee and I practicing just the bass and drums back in the garage in Massapequa [Long Island, New York] since the 8th grade, it’s even more time than that. We had an undeniable chemistry immediately way back then, and we’ve really embraced it and worked on it so that by now, it just comes out that way!

The Stray Cats from L-R: Brian Setzer, Slim Jim Phantom, Lee Rocker,
By Russ Harrington
About The STRAY CATS:
The STRAY CATS, the band that put Rockabilly music back on the record charts in the early ’80s, scored several big hits on both sides of the Atlantic thanks to a striking visual 1950’s style brought “up to date” with exaggerated pompadours and colorful tattoos and as well as genuine musical chops that evoked the best players of rockabilly’s original heyday. Formed by guitarist/vocalist Brian Setzer, upright bass player Lee Rocker and drummer Slim Jim Phantom in the Long Island town of Massapequa, NY, in 1979, the trio shared a love for Rockabilly music. After banging around New York for a few months, in the summer of 1980, and seeing a pompadoured kid on the cover of UK magazine NME, they hopped a plane to London where a rockabilly revival movement was just beginning to emerge. Their massive hits and videos include “Runaway Boys,” “Rock This Town,”“Stray Cat Strut” “(She’s) Sexy + 17,” and “I Won’t Stand in Your Way.”

Today (September 4) HARRY SHEARER releases NUMBER ONE SON as the sixth track as Donald Trump in a series which runs with a song a week leading up the November election. Over the summer, the star of The Simpsons” and “Spinal Tap has been exploring, through song, the dark and often comical recesses of the president’s mind during his time in office.

NUMBER ONE SON proves, in SHEARER’s words, that,
The apple doesn’t fall far from the refrigerator.”

With more to follow, “NUMBER ONE SON”is Donald Sr.’s paean to his eldest child Donald Jr. The song depicts the current incumbent of The Oval Office singing an “electric chop suey” tribute to his favorite first born. Charting all the qualities he holds dear in his eldest son, from his penchant for hunting to his conversations with Russians, SHEARER‘s president reveals his new found love for the boy who serves him well.

The new track follows the old-school R&B anthem to Jared Kushner SON IN LAW”; the disco/plaintive folk number celebrating Trump’s consistent inconsistency in his approach to the pandemic “COVID-180“; VERY STABLE GENIUSa low-power power-ballad, in which the leader of the free world vaunts his self-proclaimed intellectual prowess combined with his calm and balanced disposition; “STORMY DANIELS,” a romantic ballad of passion, power and pay off; and last week’s ALABAMA,a southern rock style tribute to the state that holds such a special place in Trump’s “heart.”

With music and lyrics by SHEARER, “NUMBER ONE SON” also has “The Simpsons” star on vocals as Donald Trump. He is joined by Sharlotte Gibson and CJ Vanston on backing vocals, Marc Bonilla on guitars, Toss Panos on drums and CJ Vantson on keyboard and other instruments. It is mastered by Peter Doell at Aftermaster and released by Twanky Records.
