CROSSBONE SKULLY have teamed up with Mötley Crüe bassist and founding member Nikki Sixx on their latest track, the seriously red hot “High On You,” a song about romantic obsession with an anthemic shout-it-to-the-heavens chorus. The song and its artwork—designed by Mark Wilkinson (Iron Maiden, Judas Priest)—nods to the plight of ‘Crossbone Skully,’ the central character in a parallel mythology developed by the band’s founder and frontman Tommy Henriksen. His story is unfolded in CROSSBONE SKULLY’s upcoming debut album EVIL WORLD MACHINE, set for release on November 22 via Better Noise Music. The narrative will also expand in a forthcoming graphic novel and animated film, Thing #1, due in 2025, which features voiceovers by SIXX.

“Crossbone Skully is doing something visually unique while blending kickass riffs and great songwriting with this project,” says SIXX. “I’m excited for them and can’t wait for everyone to experience it.”

Henriksen (who’s also the guitarist and musical director for Alice Cooper’s band and member of Hollywood Vampires) says of the track: “‘High On You’ shows the taste of young, pure love…the type that gets you hooked on the bug! Love is an everlasting drug!”

CROSSBONE SKULLY’s debut album EVIL WORLD MACHINE was executive produced by the legendary Mutt Lange, who emerged from retirement just for this project.

EVIL WORLD MACHINE is a rock concept album that echoes similar dystopian visions such as David Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars and Diamond Dogs.

Henriksen enlisted a sterling group of supporting musicians for the album including guitarist Tommy Denander, keyboardist Jamie Muhoberac (My Chemical Romance, John Mayer, Seal), bassist Chris Wyse (Hollywood Vampires, Ace Frehley, The Cult, Ozzy Osbourne), drummer Glen Sobel (Alice Cooper, Hollywood Vampires), the late UFO bassist Pete Way, mixer Olle Romo (Muse, Bryan Adams) and producer/mixer Mike Plotnikoff (AC/DC, Aerosmith).

Spoken-word appearances appear throughout the album from A-list actor/musician and fellow Hollywood Vampires bandmate Johnny Depp as the voice of “The Sorcerer,” Alice Cooper as “The Bringer of Light,” Joe Perry as “Big Bad Bone Crusher”, Nikki Sixx as “The Crooked Crow,” and Kane Roberts as “Alpha Watchman.”

ABOUT IAN GOTHE:
Born to an Armenian family in Iran, Ian Gothe spent much of his adolescence traveling across continents in search of a home. A childhood filled with loss and loneliness provided the impetus for Gothe to continually turn to music as his friend and confidant. His initial inspiration came from a recording of the Doors “Spanish Caravan,” a song well known for its complex and compelling guitar riffs that still capture audience’s attention today. Gothe was not immune, and his petition for a guitar of his own was driven by his desire to play those well-worn, haunting lines with ease. After Gothe and his hard-won guitar left Iran before the revolution, the 14-year-old lived with family in England and later made his way to the United States by way of a year in Baltimore before finally settling in Los Angeles, where he lives today.

Gothe’s musical career has been marked by false starts and missed opportunities, a reality not unexpected for a young man in the throes of wandering and learning about both music and life on his own. In his twenties Gothe composed a high-energy dance song “Cleopatra” produced by Christian De Walden, that became a number one hit in Italy. Years of career pursuits and family life relegated music to an occasional hobby, but after the dissolution of his 20-year marriage, Gothe returned to music, his first love. Allowing him to create projects from both his heart and soul. Citing the influences of British bands such as Camel and Genesis, and many less well-known musicians, Gothe’s style is an eclectic triumph that fuses not only musical genres but also crosses language barriers as well with songs that feature both English and his native Armenian.

ABOUT FERNANDO PERDOMO:
Fernando Perdomo is a powerhouse of the LA music scene who lives and breathes music LA Weekly dubbed him as “The millennial answer to Todd Rundgren.” A veteran at 37, he has made a name for himself as an in-demand producer, singer/songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. He is a featured guitarist in the Netflix documentary “Echo In The Canyon” where his is seen backing up Jakob Dylan, Fiona Apple, Brian Wilson, Norah Jones, Regina Spektor, Cat Power, and Jade Castrinos. He is also played on every track on the official soundtrack album of the film along with Eric Clapton, Neil Young, Stephen Stills, Josh Homme as well as the aforementioned artists.

Fernando is an acclaimed recording artist with releases in the Singer Songwriter, Rock, Progressive Rock, and Classical genres. His Out to Sea trilogy was released on Cherry Red Records with album covers by Genesis artist Paul Whitehead. His album Zebra Crossing was recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London. He has opened for Todd Rundgren, Leon Russell, Filter, Adrian Belew, and Kasim Sulton

As a session guitarist and bassist, he has played on three number 1 Albums from Christian Castro, Paulina Rubio, and Tego Calderon. Billy Idol, Corey Feldman, Gilby Clarke, Steve-O, Tommy Thayer (KISS), and Kevin Martin (Candlebox) were among the 300 guests who packed Motor Cars LA Showroom in Hollywood, CA on September 19 for the VIP opening of the “A Moment In Time” photography/art exhibition in Hollywood, CA. Recording artist and contemporary fine artist BILLY MORRISON and world-renowned photographer MARK “WEISSGUY” WEISS came together for one weekend only—September 19, 20, and 21—to showcase a series of unique paintings by Morrison, based on the iconic images photographed by Weiss of such artists as Ozzy Osbourne, Tom Petty, Billy Idol, Joan Jett, Lemmy Kilmister of Motorhead, Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley of KISS, and more. At this red-carpet event, Rock N Roll and Fine Art collided with multi-million-dollar supercars in the entertainment capital of the world. The night was highlighted by a performance from singer, songwriter and guitarist Morrison, who was joined by Idol on a fiery version on his signature smash “Rebel Yell” (Morrison is the second guitarist in Idol’s band along with Steve Stevens). Morrison and musicians Jacob Bunton (guitar, vocals), Brett Scallions (bass, vocals), Erik Eldenius (drums), and Paul Trudeau (keyboards) also performed red-hot covers of “I Fought The Law” (Bobby Fuller Four, The Clash), “Basket Case” (Green Day), “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door” (Bob Dylan, Guns N’ Roses), and “Surrender” (Cheap Trick). Former Guns N’ Roses member Gilby Clarke also played guitar and sang on “Dead Flowers” by The Rolling Stones.

Throughout the sprawling Motor Cars LA Showroom were 12 unique canvas pieces from Morrison, and high-end editions of the same photographs from Weiss, with a special 13th painting and prints going to support mental health, suicide prevention and trauma counseling through the Above Ground charity spearheaded by Morrison and Dave Navarro, Jane’s Addiction’s guitarist.

BILLY MORRISON

He has developed successful careers in multiple genres, as a rock guitarist (with Billy Idol for the past 15 years), a solo recording artist, and as a contemporary fine artist. Self-study and experimentation are the essence of Morrison’s process, working with oil paints and spray in a Warhol-esque aesthetic. Morrison’s iconic style mimics the effects of multilayered screen printing through a street art approach with the use of stencils.

MARK “WEISSGUY” WEISS

He is a world-renowned photographer who has traveled the globe photographing legends from Van Halen, Ozzy Osbourne, Aerosmith, and Mötley Crüe to Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Bon Jovi, and KISS. Weiss’ inimitable photographs helped craft the visual imagery of rock and metal in the 1980s.

Charlie Reece, the multifaceted businessman, musician, and founder of the X5 Podcast, has been making waves from his professional studio in Alabama. Known for his deep love of rock ‘n’ roll, Charlie is not just a podcast host but also a rock/country artist with an upcoming album. The X5 Podcast, which airs weekly, has been featured by Rolling Stone, Entertainment Weekly, Entertainment Tonight, NME, Loudwire, and Guitar.com, and is a lighthearted and culturally relevant mix of comedy and conversation with rock stars, personalities and comedians. As a collector of Billy Morrison’s art, Reece’s admiration for his work led to the birth of this anticipated collaboration show with iconic 80’s photographer, Mark Weiss.

MEGADETH Statement Offers Clarity On Recent Show Cancellation

MEGADETH STATEMENT OFFERS CLARITY
ON RECENT SHOW CANCELLATION

Based on Peter Frampton’s recent statement, MEGADETH feels it’s important to clear up some misinformation about the group’s recent show cancellation (Sunday, September 15 at Virginia Credit Union Live! at Richmond Raceway in Richmond, Virginia). As recently reported, Frampton stated that MEGADETH’s soundcheck damaged the venue, forcing Frampton to also cancel his show there a few days later.

MEGADETH did not even get a chance to sound check at all in Richmond, Virginia contrary to what Peter Frampton reports. MEGADETH‘s rigger was in the venue’s steel grid system above the stage getting ready to hang the lights when he noticed there was damage to the venue’s grid. He pointed this out immediately to the promoters and the venue. It was determined that it was unsafe for MEGADETH to hang their production or put the band on stage at the risk of in-house grid failure to support the weight of the touring lighting and sound which could fall on the band, crew members, or audience, as it could cause serious injury or death. Therefore, MEGADETH, the local promoter, the venue, and booking agents had no other option than to cancel the show.

“It seems Frampton was misinformed about our show being cancelled,” says MEGADETH’s DAVE MUSTAINE.” “The decision was purely based on safety. It’s disappointing when someone you admire talks out their ass about you.”

After wrapping their massively successful nationwide co-headlining “Slightly Dirty Summer Tour” with Slightly Stoopid, DIRTY HEADS are set to bring their signature blend of reggae, rock, and hip-hop to Los Angeles with a headlining show at Kia Forum on Friday, November 22 for the Alt 98.7 Presents Friendsgiving concert. The event marks the farewell performance of Sublime with Rome as it will be their final LA show and their last concert with DIRTY HEADS. Both bands have collaborated and toured together frequently over the span of their careers; single “Lay Me Down” featuring ROME reached #1 on Billboard’s Alternative chart and is RIAA certified gold. The show will also include performances from LA-based ska-punk group The Interrupters and alternative trio Beach Weather. Tickets are on sale now HERE.

DIRTY HEADS will continue to celebrate the digital deluxe release of their acclaimed album MIDNIGHT CONTROL. MIDNIGHT CONTROL (DELUXE) was released in 2023 via Better Noise Music and features 23 tracks, including acoustic versions of hit songs “Rescue Me,” “Life’s Been Good,” and “Island Glow,” Lo-Fi versions of 3 album tracks, 3 unreleased songs, and more in addition to all 10 tracks from the original album. Amidst their recent summer tour, DIRTY HEADS released two limited-edition vinyl re-pressings of their sold-out Record Store Day exclusive Midnight Control (Deluxe): Collector’s Edition Vinyl Box Set as well as a limited-edition 7” Bandcamp exclusive. Limited to 1,000 copies, the vinyl box set featured artwork designed by DIRTY HEADS bassist David Foral and was printed entirely on FSC-certified recycled paper stock. It featured recycled vinyl, three unique vinyl etchings, a 20-page booklet, and a 24″x36″ poster. The Bandcamp exclusive 7” was limited to 300 copies and includes “Rescue Me” on Side A and “Life’s Been Good” on Side B.

ABOUT DIRTY HEADS
Since 2003, Dirty Heads have mixed rock, reggae, and hip-hop to create a unique sound that both fully embodies their Southern California roots and resonates with audiences around the globe. Nearly twenty years ago, the group formed when punk rocker Dustin Bushnell (aka Duddy B) asked his friend, rapper Jared Watson (aka Dirty J), to collaborate on a project that would focus on positive vibes and infectious grooves. Watson added singing to his vocal skills, and with percussionist Jon Olazabal, an acoustic trio version of Dirty Heads began playing shows and building an audience.

In 2008, they released the acclaimed album Any Port in a Storm, with a deluxe edition following in 2010. The deluxe version featured the track “Lay Me Down” with special guest Rome Ramirez of Sublime with Rome. The song reached number one on Billboard’s Alternative Songs in May 2010. Nine weeks later, it established a record as the song with the longest stint atop the chart for an independently released title and remained at the #1 spot for a total of eleven weeks.

They followed up two years later with Cabin by the Sea and later recorded an acoustic version of the title track. This, in turn, led to an entire acoustic album in 2013 called Home: Phantoms of Summer. Dirty Heads’ next album, Sound of Change, would prove to be a breakthrough for the now-veteran band, debuting at #8 on the Billboard Top 200 while topping the Independent and Alternative Albums charts upon its May 2014 release.

Building on their renewed success, Dirty Heads enlisted a bevy of industry hitmakers to work on their self-titled 2016 follow-up, which — thanks to its mainstream appeal — again charted high on the Billboard Top 200. The following year saw the band drop its sixth studio album, SWIM TEAM, featuring the single “Vacation.” The band’s global appeal reached new heights in 2021, when their hit “Vacation” garnered over 4 billion views and streams across social media via the ubiquitous #VacationTransition challenge that originated organically with users on TikTok. The song saw an 850% increase in consumption on Spotify, introducing Dirty Heads to new international fans by the millions. They celebrated with a series of “Vacation” remixes and new renditions of the track on their 2021 album The Best of Dirty Heads (Better Noise Music), which included collaborations with Travis Barker and Aimee Interrupter of The Interrupters.

ASKING ALEXANDRIA have shared the first listen to two new tracks from the EP today, September 20. The “modern day, hook-laden” (Kerrang!) song “Let Go”—the third highest-streaming track on WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE? which has nearly 8 million overall streams and over 1.3 million video views—gets a remixed touch from up-and-coming LA-based producer kodeblooded. For GIA, the figures on the fringes of society are by far the most fascinating. Her songs tell the stories of the downtrodden to the downright dangerous. And through them, we begin to hear familiar, uncomfortable truths about ourselves. The theme of alienation runs through the album.

“Most of the characters in these songs are outcasts, all with unique ways of feeling on the periphery, somehow,” GIA says. While each song operates in its own realm, their subject matters create a throughline of eccentricity that turns TRANSPARENT THINGS into an odyssey of outcasts.

Arguably no song better encapsulates the character of “the other” than the single “Paint Me Like a Woman.’” The song is from the perspective of a woman who feels herself morphing into the villain as a result of abuse and mistreatment at the hands of all the men in her life.

GIA explains: “It is a look inside her mind as she feels herself drifting away from who she really is; allowing her rage to weave itself into the fabric of her being. It’s a comment on how we hurt each other, how we change each other, and a question: who gets punished for this terrible nature we have all, to varying degrees, embodied?”
