Coming off the announcement of a massive 2025 worldwide tour including a 31-date North American run set for early 2026, SABATON (@sabatonofficial) today (October 17) release their much-anticipated 11th studio album LEGENDS via Better Noise Music (marking the band’s label debut). It features the latest single and accompanying video, “I, Emperor,” based on the complex and controversial Napoleon Bonaparte, by the #1 Global Power Metal Band and one of Sweden’s most successful bands.

Listen to “I, EmperorHERE and watch the boardgamer meets Napoleon-themed video HERE.

Throughout the album, SABATONJoakim Brodén (vocals), Pär Sundström (bass), Chris Rörland (guitar), Thobbe Englund (guitar), Hannes Van Dahl (drums)—delve into some of history’s greatest and most loved characters such as Jeanne D’arc (also known as Joan of Arc), Hannibal, Genghis Khan, Vlad the Impaler, Julius Caesar, the Knights Templar, and the legendary swordmaster Miyamoto Musashi.

TRACK LEGENDARY FIGURE

Templars – Knights Templar
Hordes of Khan – Genghis Khan
A Tiger Among Dragons – Lü Bu
Crossing the Rubicon – Julius Caesar
I, Emperor – Napoleon Bonaparte
Maid of Steel – Joan of Arc
Impaler – Vlad the Impaler
Lightning at the Gates – Hannibal
The Duelist – Miyamoto Musashi
The Cycle of Songs – Pharaoh Senusret III
Till Seger – King of Sweden Gustav II Adolf

This 11th studio album marks a bold evolution in the band’s sound and storytelling, plunging headfirst into the heart of history’s most formidable and enigmatic figures. These are not just rock songs; they are battle hymns carved from the blood and legacy of warriors, kings, strategists and revolutionaries.

For the album’s sixth single, “I, Emperor,” the band is setting their sights on the complex and controversial Napoleon Bonaparte, who rose to fame during the French Revolution and became a hero after his Italian campaign. He took power as First Consul, then crowned himself Emperor. Known for his brilliant military tactics, he beat major European powers in battles like Austerlitz and Rivoli. He also reformed laws with the Napoleonic Code, but his ambition caught up with him after a failed invasion of Russia and defeat at Waterloo, and he was exiled.

“Epic battles, bold moves and a rise from nothing to emperor,” explains frontman Joakim Brodén. “Napoleon is straight up legendary and his story is basically built for a SABATON song. Plus, this one was greatly—and I mean greatly—requested by fans. So here it is… you asked, we delivered!”

Continues bassist Pär Sundström: “I was excited about ‘I, Emperor,’ because I’ve seen countless requests for us to write a song about Napoleon, which is usually a sign that fans will get excited about a song. This one’s got that anthem energy, and we’ve got a feeling it’s gonna be a fan favorite.” He adds: “It’s punchy, powerful and seriously catchy, that’s something we all felt when Joakim was singing along to the music during the filming of the video for the song. I can’t wait to hear what everyone thinks. I’m curious to see if fans think this one should make it into the setlist for future shows!”

The accompanying music video is a tribute to one of Sundström’s favorite childhood hobbies, board games. The concept was to create a historical board game replay of the Battle of Waterloo, with the twist being that the band members are the ones deciding the fate of the battle without being aware of it. Joakim took on the role of the French, while Pär and guitarist Chris Rörland represented the British, and drummer Hannes Van Dahl and guitarist Thobbe Englund represented the Prussians.

It was set up to depict Joakim versus the rest of the band, since he had studied a book detailing how Napoleon should have fought the battle in order to achieve victory. In the video, he uses that knowledge to outplay his band members completely, and wins. But his victory doesn’t just end the game; it rewrites history. When they leave the gaming room, they discover that the British pub they started off in has transformed into a French café. The band ended up in an alternate reality where France actually won the Battle of Waterloo.

For the ‘I, Emperor’ music video shoot, Joakim brought along a stack of books, each one connected to Sabaton History Channel (that has over 364k subscribers) topics and songs the band have written about over the years, and Pär showed up with a collection of collectible board games to help set the scene. They even took a trip to a local second-hand market to pick up extra props and decorations to make the set look exciting. It was a proper mix of research, geekiness, and treasure hunting.

LEGENDS marks the very first time that every band member has come together to contribute to the songwriting process. This is SABATON as you’ve never heard them before—relentless and unbound. LEGENDS is a global journey through the annals of warfare, leadership and unbreakable will.

Five songs have already been released from LEGENDS including “Crossing The Rubicon” (featuring NOTHING MORE). This special collaborative version of the track was released to radio September 12 and the band is now making their first appearance on the Mediabase Active Rock chart at #33, while the original version will be available as part of the album release. Previously released were “The Duelist” and “Lightning at the Gates” (July 25), “Hordes of Khan” (June 6), and “Templars” (April 25):

5X Platinum-certified alternative rock mainstays THE RED JUMPSUIT APPARATUS (@redjumpsuitapparatus) released their sixth album X’s For Eyes via Better Noise Music on October 3 along with latest single, “Perfection.” Against the track’s intense driving rhythm and a big, urgent melody, lead vocalist, guitarist, and founding member Ronnie Winter sings “Whatever won’t break can make us” with his signature wide-ranging voice. Today (October 17), they’ve released the song’s evocative video ahead of their two performances this weekend—Saturday, October 18 and Sunday, October 19—at the When We Were Young festival in Las Vegas as part of the band’s nationwide tour. Watch the video HERE.

THE RED JUMPSUIT APPARATUS has teamed up once again with director Shane Drake (Panic! At The Disco, Paramore), who was behind the camera lens for the “False Pretense” and “Your Guardian Angel” videos from the band’s 2006 double-Platinum debut album, DON’T YOU FAKE IT.

“What’s really exciting is that we basically rebuilt the same team for X’s for Eyes that we had when we made DON’T YOU FAKE IT,” says frontman Ronnie Winter. “A lot of the people who were behind the scenes back then–working on things like A&R, mixing, track sequencing, artwork and now videos–have come back together, nearly 20 years later, to be part of this new album. It feels like a reunion in the best possible way. If you were a fan of DON’T YOU FAKE IT, we think you’re going to really love this album.”

In the “Perfection” video, the viewer meets five diverse characters, each of whom are deemed part of society’s marginalized outcasts and who fit neither traditional western nor typical emo cultures, each isolated with X’s painted over their eyes. They are a trans truck mechanic, a disabled rodeo dreamer, an indigenous goth, a queer runaway, and a plus-size punk cowgirl. They’re mysteriously summoned by divine flyers featuring the band’s Alliance logo, which glows with warm light when they touch it, and they immediately realize that they’ve been called to a special performance by the band. There they experience collective awakening, as they simultaneously open their eyes and the X’s disappear, and they discover their chosen family.

Winter points out that “Perfection” is “a song about perfect imperfections, about embracing one’s flaws and the true beauty that lies within. It’s a song about individuality, self-acceptance, and the idea that our scars and imperfections make us who we are. Through the lens of perfectly imperfect, what some might consider to be mistakes, flaws, and shortcomings suddenly become good, beautiful, even desirable. It’s a reminder,” he adds, “that being perfectly imperfect is something not to hide but to celebrate.”

Perfection” follows the release of three singles from X’s For Eyes: “Home Improvement,” “Slipping Through (No Kings),” and “X’s For Eyes.” Stream/purchase X’s For Eyes HERE.

  • X’s For Eyes”: stream/download the song HERE and watch the video HERE
  • Slipping Through (No Kings)”: stream/download the song HERE and watch the video HERE
  • Home Improvement”: stream/download the song HERE and watch the video HERE

The 11 songs on X’s For Eyes find the band revving up their caffeinated pop sensibilities, throwing down the punishing riffola, delivering more electronic and ambient flourishes, and topping all of it off with Winter’s high-pitched emoting. Factor in some hair-raising cameos from Sleeping With Sirens’ Kellin Quinn (“Always The King”) and Escape The Fate frontman Craig Mabbitt (“Worth It”) and the result is genuinely RJA’s most strident full-length offering yet.

Formed in 2004 in Jacksonville, FL, the band has accrued Gold and multi-Platinum singles—including their massive 5x Platinum hit single “Face Down” (which has over 176 million views on YouTube), 2x PlatinumYour Guardian Angel” (which has over 37 million views on YouTube)—and 2x Platinum-certified debut album, DON’T YOU FAKE IT, alongside numerous high-ranking radio chart positions and a robust digital history of over 1.5 billion career streams. Sometimes it’s hard to believe that THE RED JUMPSUIT APPARATUS began their expedition into the hearts and minds of a generation 20 years ago. Their blazing 2006 single “Face Down” delivered both anthemic choruses and a strident message about domestic abuse, achieving both sales accolades and adoration from crowds all over the planet.

THE RED JUMPSUIT APPARATUS is currently on their nationwide headlining tour. Before the When We Were Young festival kick-off, tonight (Friday, October 17) at 7pm at The Punk Rock Museum in Las Vegas (included with a GA ticket), Ronnie Winter will be part of a roundtable discussion moderated by Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman along with Todd Morse (H2O, The Offspring), Vinnie Fiorello (Less Than Jake), Erik “Smelly” Sandin (NOFX), Chris DeMakes (Less Than Jake), and Jaret Reddick (Bowling for Soup) about their experiences performing at Warped Tour over the years. Kevin Lyman is bringing together iconic voices to also raise awareness and donations for his foundation, Unite The United Foundation. The foundation’s mission is to encourage and support fans, artists, and industry leaders from the music, touring, and action sports worlds to work toward positive change in their local community by supporting local charities, producing fundraising events, and participating in community volunteerism across the United States.

“I told the dark
That I had survived
Demons couldn’t take me
I am awakening”
–“Awakening,” EVA UNDER FIRE

After amassing tens of millions of streams, shaking the charts, touring with bands like From Ashes To New, Asking Alexandria, and Skillet, and performing with 30 Seconds to Mars, all the while earning critical acclaim from Loudwire and New Noise Magazine, EVA UNDER FIRE return with the riveting and demon-conquering “Awakening.” Out today (October 17), it’s the first taste of new music in two years from the Detroit, MI quintet, signaling perhaps that this could be the start of a new album campaign.

Stream/download “AwakeningHERE

Watch the lyric video for “AwakeningHERE

Awakening” is a blistering and inspirational anthem from Amanda Lyberg (vocals), Rob Lyberg (lead guitar), Chris Slapnik (rhythm guitar), Ed Gawlik (bass), and Dave Miller II (drums). “The guys and I are stoked about the upcoming album,” proclaims Amanda, whose gutsy vocals spectacularly cut through the raging guitars. “These songs are everything we wanted to write. We made sure it was the most honest version of our story. ‘Awakening’ is an anthem about conquering personal demons.  The rest of the album is what it took to get there. It’s also a story packaged in the heaviest riffs we’ve ever played so I think listeners will be pleasantly surprised. Cheers to the new era!”

EVA UNDER FIRE are committed to delivering music that confronts fears, anxieties, traumas, and the past head-on. The band amplify this kind of open-hearted honesty through tightly crafted and transformational hard rock anthems. They’ve tirelessly grinded out of the Midwest and built a faithful following by delivering raw and relatable truth without filter.

“We’ve slept in Walmart parking lots, and we still tour in a van,” says singer Amanda Lyberg. “The first album cycle was a reflection of what we like to call our ‘Detroit Grit.’ It allows us to find a way against a lot of odds. You have to really work to make it out of here.”

For “Awakening” and all their new music, Amanda drew on her career as a licensed therapist to foster an open dialogue among the band members, empowering everyone to be heard during the recording. Her work in therapy started in 2018 when she graduated with a Master of Arts in Psychology degree and went on to work at a mental health clinic in Detroit, Transcendence Behavioral Health (owned by Dr. Stephanie Williams). That same year, her father passed away due to a fentanyl overdose. Her mother survived the same batch that killed her father, and she’s been sober for the past six years. In addition to her thriving and busy music career, Amanda is currently a practicing psychotherapist specializing in trauma work, grief and loss, and addiction recovery.

Her story turned into a 2023 short film, “My Rockstar,” which used EVA UNDER FIRE music throughout, and has won over 20 awards in several film fests including Orlando Film Fest, Wild Rivers Film Festival, Toronto WILDfilm Festival, and many others.

Lauded as one of Sirius XM’s 2023 “Ones To Watch,” EVA UNDER FIRE released their critically acclaimed debut album, LOVE, DRUGS & MISERY via Better Noise Music in 2022. Its deluxe version includes the Top 20 Active Rock radio-charting single “Unstoppable” featuring country/rock artist Cory Marks. They’ve toured across the globe with acts including Bush, Bad Wolves, Pop Evil, Skillet, and Finger Eleven, while also appearing at some of rock’s biggest festivals including Aftershock, Inkcarceration, and Rock Fest. As they gear up for a headline European tour that begins November 7 in Tampere, Finland, 3x-Grammy-nominated and four-time #1 rock outfit NOTHING MORE (@nothingmoremusic) have today (October 17) released their interpretation of “We’re in This Together” by Nine Inch Nails—currently on tour to promote their latest TRON: Ares (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) album—from 1999’s The Fragile. It’s a song that has always held great meaning for the boundary-pushing alternative metal band—Jonny Hawkins (vocals), Mark Vollelunga (guitar), Daniel Oliver (bass), and Ben Anderson (drums)—and one they in fact started recording 11 years ago before being sidetracked by creating their own music.

Listen to the song, released by Better Noise Music, HERE.

“‘We’re in This Together’ sounds like a love song colliding with a war cry,” says frontman Jonny Hawkins. “Alan Watts [the British American writer and orator] once said that ‘you are the universe experiencing itself’—and this song embodies that truth. It’s us against the world, and this song is my inner monologue.”

The band’s guitarist Mark Vollelunga elaborates. “This song is from my favorite Nine Inch Nails’ album, The Fragile, and by far one of my favorite NIN songs. It’s such a beautiful cataclysm. Essentially, it’s a love song, but as I dove deeper, my interpretation shifted to it being about my relationship to my personal demons and mental trauma. It’s about making peace with those monsters and accepting who and what they are while realizing they will always be a part of me,” he adds. “It took a long time to achieve that cathartic clarity in regard to the very real nature of that evil’s presence. We actually started recording the song 11 years ago, and it’s just been lying in wait until recently. I was upset we hadn’t released it earlier, but I now believe its relevance and timing couldn’t be more immaculate.”

The standalone track “We’re in This Together” follows NOTHING MORE’s most recent single/video “EXISTENTIAL DREAD,” which marks the fifth release from their 2024 album, CARNAL. The album has notably spawned four back-to-back #1 rock singles—“If It Doesn’t Hurt,” ANGEL SONG (featuring David Draiman),” “HOUSE ON SAND” (featuring Eric Vanlerberghe),” and “FREEFALL” (featuring Chris Daughtry)—on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Airplay” and Mediabase “Active Rock” charts and amassed 193.5 million global streams. With this chart distinction, the band joins a special group of artists including Metallica, Linkin Park, Five Finger Death Punch, Papa Roach, and Falling In Reverse who’ve achieved the same honor.

A deluxe edition of CARNAL was released this past March and is also available on CD and vinyl. Five bonus tracks on CARNAL (DELUXE) include a new version of the bracing “FREEFALL,” featuring 6x Platinum-certified rock artist Chris Daughtry, and a live version of “ANGEL SONG.” The latter track was recorded at the band’s set at Aftershock Festival 2024 where NOTHING MORE was joined onstage by guest vocalist David Draiman.

NOTHING MORE’s upcoming headline European tour gets underway November 7 in Tampere, Finland, with support from Catch Your Breath, Solence, and Ankor. Early next year, starting January 14, 2026 in Silver Spring, MD, the band will launch another round of headlining shows throughout the U.S. and Canada, with support by Catch Your Breath, Archers, and Doobie. Tickets and VIP Meet and Greet packages are on sale now on their official website.

Singer and songwriter CHLOE TRUJILLO today (October 16) has released the first single—the soulfully expressive metal song “As the Sky is Falling Down”—from her independent new EP REBIRTH out in early 2026. In this track, ominous guitar underscores the Paris-born and Los Angeles-based artist’s moving and haunting delivery. The delicate hum gives way to a trudging groove, and CHLOE proclaims, “As the sky is falling down, I stand tall, wreckage all around, but I won’t fall. Her spoken word transfixes over the turbulent bridge. Listen to the song HERE and watch the video, which includes dramatic scenes of CHLOE shot at the ocean, HERE.

“The song is about spiritual transformation through chaos,” CHLOE says. “It discusses the fall of material illusions and reveals a deeper truth. There’s a saying, ‘True liberation is not in escaping chaos, but in no longer being disturbed by it.’ I wasn’t allowing the craziness of the world to affect me. Instead, I was creating a lot of art and music.”

CHLOE teamed with Vicente Cordero of Industrialism Films to create an accompanying video that she says captures “Spiritual transformation through chaos. Only through the fall of material illusion can one see the deeper truths. Life still thrives if we let it be free, the beauty of the endless ocean, the giant cliffs, the fresh breeze vs the world of broken screens and the destroyed environment.”

REBIRTH evokes the sound of change out loud. You can hear the past being shed, the present being seized, and the future being manifested through her spirited conjurations of soulfully expressive metal.

“We’re all growing as humans and trying to better ourselves,” CHLOE says. “This time, I expressed things I was afraid to express in the past. I’m taking heavy feelings in my heart, letting them go, and revealing a little bit more of myself—which is why it felt like a rebirth. With each song, I held back a little less. I’ve overcome trauma and fear. I’m not worried about what others think. For many years, I was an observer of life around me. Now, I was like, ‘I’m going to do this. I can be me.’

CHLOE carefully crafted what would become REBIRTH throughout 2024 and 2025. Her songwriting process is ongoing and ever evolving. When choosing the songs for the new EP, she says, “I have a stash of hundreds of songs waiting to be properly recorded, so for this EP I selected four of those to finish. I already have another 6 or 7 in mind for my next release.” Following writing, she teamed up with producer Jake Carmona to bring it to life in the studio.

“I’ve done all kinds of music, but Jake and I really leaned into metal and hard rock,” CHLOE says. “He brought in some great ideas, and we gave it a vibe. We played around with my vocals, balancing the screaming, the ad-libs, and the soulful harmonies. I was able to convey the message I wanted to convey.”

Stay tuned for full details on the EP in the coming months.

Hard Rock/Punk Band THE BONES Announce Three Las Vegas Shows and Share Q&A

FROM: MITCH SCHNEIDER

DATE: OCTOBER 15, 2025

THE BONES
ANNOUNCE THREE SHOWS IN LAS VEGAS:
ACOUSTIC PERFORMANCE ON OCTOBER 24
AT THE COPA ROOM INSIDE TUSCANY SUITES,
FOLLOWED BY TWO FULL BAND SHOWS ON NOVEMBER 13
AT THE DIVE BAR AND DECEMBER 5 AT THE COPA ROOM
INSIDE TUSCANY SUITES

READ A Q&A BELOW WITH
BAND FRONTMAN PATRICK VITAGLIANO

The Bones  (Photo Credit: Vincent Young)

THE BONES are a Las Vegas-based rock & roll band featuring Patrick Vitagliano (Nuclear Theory/Nuclear Assault spinoff with John Connelly), Jeff Duncan (Armored Saint/Odin), Sean Koos (Joan Jett & The Blackhearts), and Daniel Margasa (Pat Travers/Rock Godz Hall of Fame). With four full-length original albums under their belt—including Circle in 2024—their merger of punk and hard rock influences possesses a witty and sarcastic lyrical spin.

Look for the band’s frontman, vocalist and guitarist Patrick Vitagliano, to perform a special acoustic show with ace guitarist Stoney Curtis on Friday, October 24, 10pm, at the Copa Room inside Tuscany Suites (no cover). They’ll support tribute band One Last KISS. Next, THE BONES have set two full band shows. First up is Thursday, November 13, 7pm, at the Dive Bar, again with One Last KISS. The event is billed as “Welcome To Casablanca, The Official, UNOFFICIAL KISS Army Pre-Party.” Tickets are available HERE. This will be followed by a Friday, December 5 show at 10pm at Copa Room inside Tuscany Suites (no cover).

THE BONES’ tongue-in-cheek live show is a high-energy set that often includes rock/metal covers of some of the most unexpected pop songs that were NEVER intended to rock (covering Abba, Devo, Duran Duran, Blondie, The Go-Go’s, Cyndi Lauper, etc—the band have released two double-live albums of these twisted covers) yet somehow, ends up being one of the most memorable, good-time rock shows you’ll see in Las Vegas.

Below is a Q&A with Patrick Vitagliano, who has a lot of interesting things on his mind.

12 QUESTIONS
WITH PATRICK VITAGLIANO OF THE BONES

THE BONES are known for their mix of punk and hard rock, with a witty and sarcastic lyrical spin. Where does your sarcasm come from?

Patrick: Lyrically, your words should always provoke a reaction, an emotion, or otherwise “leave a mark” in some small way. You don’t always have the space within a song to really expound on deep thinking, so sarcasm is a way to force someone to think about what you might be trying to say. Subtext, if you will.

Beyond the band’s four studio albums, you’ve released two double-live albums featuring covers of songs that you’ve said were “never intended to rock” (tunes by Abba, Devo, Duran Duran, Blondie, The Go-Go’s, Cyndi Lauper, etc). What inspired you to change up these pop songs?

Patrick: If you think about it, you can play any song ever written, on an acoustic guitar, sitting around a campfire. Metallica, Slayer, anything. And ANY song can be a rock song, a country song, a hip hop song, a punk song, a pop song, etc…it’s all in how you present it. There are such GREAT melodies in a lot of the songs that get dismissed as “cheesy,” purely because of the production style they were rendered in. I like to think that we are rescuing these songs from the sugar-pop production that gives them the bad rep but make no mistake…ALL of these songs are chosen because they are amazing songs.

If you were to record a duet with a current artist outside the genre of music for which you’re known, who might that be, and which song would you cover and why?

Patrick: One of my favorite duets ever recorded was “Henry Lee,” by Nick Cave, recorded with PJ Harvey, from his Murder Ballads album. It’s dark, haunting, and impossibly sexy for a song that is literally about murder. Though if I had a dream duet partner, it would probably be Billie Eilish, she is just the most refreshingly original creature out there right now. And if I had to pick a song to record with her, it’s a no-brainer that it would be Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah,” because where Cohen walks through his various versions of what HIS hallelujahs are, I see this largely as a relationship song, and there are two sides in every relationship, making this a song that really could, and arguably SHOULD, be a duet at some point. Do you have her number?

Can you talk about a particular book or film (or both) that has helped shape your sensibility as an artist?

Patrick: I could, but I think life experience plays a lot more into what shapes us as artists, and people in general. Real love, heartbreak, injuries and trauma both your own, as well as what you’ve witnessed firsthand, drug experimentation, surviving dangerous close calls, having loved ones die, etc…these things change you in subtle ways that all become puzzle pieces that form a whole. If I were to illustrate that in an extreme example for instance, anyone that has gone to war is indelibly changed as a person. The horrors that they’ve witnessed and/or participated in—that shit leaves a mark. Oh fuck, that’s not what you asked at all, was it. OK, Lost in Translation is a movie that left a mark on me. As for reading, I’ve deep dived into Eastern philosophy, The Art of War, the Tao Te Ching, the I Ching—those texts change your way of thinking for sure, which impacts your art.

If you could have a conversation with anyone who’s living or dead, who would it be and why?

Patrick: Tom Waits. Period. My absolute hero as a songwriter—the way he tells a story, the way he describes even ordinary things makes them extraordinary. If you’re not familiar and want a crash course in creative writing, listen to “9th & Hennepin,” it’s a fucking lyrical masterpiece.

Here’s an excerpt:

“They all started out with bad directions.
And the girl behind the counter has a tattooed tear, one for every year he’s away,  she said.
Such a crumbling beauty. Ah, there’s nothin’ wrong with her a hundred dollars won’t fix.
She has that razor sadness that only gets worse with the clang and the thunder of the Southern Pacific going by.
And the clock ticks out like a dripping faucet, till you’re full of rag water and bitters and blue ruin, and you spill out over the side to anyone who’ll listen.”

What was the first concert you attended and what was it like?

Patrick: Springsteen, 1984, the Born in the U.S.A tour. It was the first time I’d experienced a “Din.” I’m not even sure that’s the correct word, but it’s when the roar of the crowd overwhelms you. Takes your breath away. I wasn’t ready for it, which was even better. It was like a tidal wave of euphoria, and I knew that all I wanted to do from that moment on was to spend the rest of my life trying to impact the world in that way. To create something that would overtake a crowd of people in a way that would sweep them away to someplace else, if even just for a short time, before they return to their normal lives. Still trying😉.

Which two bands would you like to appear on a dream bill with?

Patrick: Probably The Ramones and Social Distortion. I think we’d fit nicely into a sandwich like that.

Which famous historical event would you like to have witnessed and why?

Patrick: This isn’t actually the answer to your question, but I’ll tie it back to life experiences that leave a mark. A few days after 9/11, my wife and I went to NYC,

really just to try and take in the scope of what we’d just seen on TV. And it was during a VERY short time as they were still getting their heads around the whole thing, and the area hadn’t really been fully cordoned off, so you could pretty much walk right up to that smoldering pile of twisted steel and ash. For blocks and blocks as you approached, literally everything was covered in a light-colored white-grey ash—it was in the air, it was everywhere. And I remember being struck like a gut-punch when that massive, ragged, towering piece of steel skeletal framing came into view, the one everyone had previously seen on TV. It felt like the wind got knocked out of me and it was a brief struggle to find my breath. Seeing that with my own eyes added a gravity to the event that absolutely left a mark on me.

Which song do you crank up on Friday night to kick off the weekend?

Patrick: If I’m not playing a show, my wife Christina and I like to settle in on a Friday night, and spend the weekend cuddling with our dogs and Netflix. Boring? Fuck you.😉

If you overheard one fan talking to another after leaving a Bones show, what would you like to hear them say about the gig?

Patrick: I’m obsessed with what people think of my lyrics, they are everything to me. So when people notice and talk about them, I feel like I’ve left a small mark. That is what I live for.

Figurative gun to your head, what is your favorite album of all time?

Patrick: Gun to my head, Tom Waits…..Either Rain Dogs or Mule Variations, depending on the week. Gun NOT to my head, there are so many more wonderful “Honorable Mentions,” like Nick Cave’s No More Shall We Part, Jane’s Addiction’s Nothing’s Shocking, Tori Amos’ Little Earthquakes, Sugar’s Copper Blue, PJ Harvey’s Rid Of Me, Jeff Buckley’s Grace, Juliette & The Licks’ Four on the Floor, Cheap Trick’s Heaven Tonight—seriously, I could do this all fucking day!)

What song would you like played at your funeral?

Patrick: Anything by ME.😉
