ABOUT BRODIE STEWART

Brodie Stewart grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and Sacramento and spent his summers in Red Bluff, California. At a young age, his favorite things to do were going to the rodeo, listening to country music, singing and playing guitar. Soon enough, Brodie formed and fronted a southern rock band and had the good fortune of touring the country opening up for big artists in front of sold-out arenas. His band even charted on Billboard.

With his southern rock roots, Brodie returned to what he loved the most, “country music”. While writing songs for his own album, Brodie also wrote and produced songs for various other artists, such as “Sweet Isabel”, recorded by Enrique Iglesias for his (Interscope Records) release entitled “Insomniac”. Shortly after placing Sweet Isabel with Enrique, Martin Kierszenbaum (President of Cherrytree/Interscope Records) signed Brodie to a song/production deal with the label. Quickly following, Brodie signed a publishing deal with Warner Chappell Music Publishing. Since that time, Brodie has written and produced several tracks for various artists.

Currently, 100% of Brodie’s attention is on his country music endeavors. On his debut album “Born American”, Brodie teamed up with guitarist/producer/songwriter “Adam Shoenfeld” (Jason Aldean, Tim McGraw, Luke Bryan, Keith Urban, Jake Owen, Big and Rich, Florida Georgia Line and many more) to co-produce and play on the album along with several top players, including working with one great engineer, Aaron Chmielewski in Nashville. In addition to gearing up promotion for his “Debut Album”, Brodie’s “high octane show” has been touring the West Coast.

ABOUT AUSTIN SNELL

Known for pushing the country envelope with a ferocious injection of sonic fury, Snell is no stranger to raw honesty, and his new EP Home Sweet Hell reveals another harsh reality. Far from romanticizing the good-old days, he shares an upbringing steeped in hard lessons, hard living, and hard rock; a familiar truth which nevertheless came with plenty to be proud of. It’s the follow-up to his 2024 album debut Still Bleeding – more powerful (and more brutal) than before. But as the singer-songwriter matures, the intensity is now in his introspection.

Born in Georgia and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Snell was raised on everything from Alan Jackson to Nirvana and Nickelback, a contrast which constantly shows in his original “grunge country” style. Fusing hard-hitting aggression with the deep-feeling confessions of a country troubadour, he’s spent the last two years turning social-media stardom into brash-and-broken hits like “Excuse the Mess” and “Pray All the Way Home,” racking up 383 million global career streams and a fanatical fanbase, which will put him on the road for more than 120 dates in 2025 – Home Sweet Hell headline tour included.

From cultural institutions like the Grand Ole Opry (where he recently invited fellow riser Hudson Westbrook to make his Opry debut) to major festivals like CMA Fest, Stagecoach, Summerfest, and more, Snell’s been lighting crowds on fire and earning respect for his blazing vocal rasp. But with Home Sweet Hell he fights nostalgia to find the truth and pulls no punches along the way.

ABOUT COUNTRY REWIND

Two-step back in time at Country Rewind – a throwback night filled with your favorite 90s and early 2000s country hits with DJ Manda. No cover for Military, Teachers, Nurses, and First Responders in gratitude for their service. Free dance lessons are at 7:30 and 8:30 p.m., and free Mechanical Bull rides all night long. 21+ only.

ABOUT MEGHAN PATRICK

Ontario native, Nashville-based singer-songwriter Meghan Patrick is as real as they come. She playfully blends her tough-as-nails exterior with a casual, cool narrative – showing the world that women can be sexy, strong, intimate, and gritty. Whether it’s composing skillfully crafted songwriting or tearing it up on tour – listeners are invited into her world and very quickly become lifelong fans. A back-to-back CCMA Female Artist of the Year whose accolades also include 19 CMA Ontario Awards, she has proven that she has what it takes to create music that her fan base adores. With the release of her deeply personal project, Golden Child, she has reached a point where after 8 years in Nashville, she can peel back even more layers and be even more authentic. The album touches on trauma in her past that Meghan is finally ready to release, discuss, and heal from through her music. “Of course, I’m chasing success in my career, but more and more I am chasing fulfillment and fulfillment doesn’t just come from making money and winning awards and having success,” Patrick explains. “I have had those things, and it did not fulfill me in the way I thought it would.” She now coins the term, Big Sister Country as a way of sharing advice through her impactful lyrics.

A multi-faceted musician from a tender age, her background includes co-founding an all-girl band at age 13, studying opera and jazz, fronting a 10-piece funk act that once opened for Aretha Franklin, and touring extensively as part of a bluegrass group. She names John Prine, Neil Young, and Waylon Jennings as a few of her musical inspirations.

ABOUT THE HUSER BROTHERS

The Waco-born Brothers have been making waves in the independent music scene with their unique blend of soulful, rocking country, original tunes. Brothers were born and raised in Waco, Texas, right off the I-35 corridor between Dallas and Austin. Their first EP “Find My Way” released May of 2018 was just the beginning for this talented group, with songs such as “Dancefloor” and “Highway.” A little later, songs such as ‘Tired of Runnin’ and “Honey” took over the top spots and gained attention from listeners across the U.S. Furthermore, in 2025 the brothers won TCMA Country Band of the Year. They have been privileged to share the stage with some of the biggest acts in the music scene like Koe Wetzel, Parker McCollum, Treaty Oak Revival, Dylan Scott, and Gary Allen, just to name a few.

Dave Mustaine ‘IN MY DARKEST HOUR A Memoir’ Set For September 8 Release

From global superstar & Megadeth founder
Dave Mustaine,
a powerful reflection on the harsh truths and
raw realizations that can only come from confronting death

In My Darkest Hour
A Memoir
By Dave Mustaine
With Joe Layden

September 8, 2026 | Da Capo | 240 pages
9780306837432 | $30.00 Hardcover
9780306837456 | $15.99 eBook
9781668655955 | $27.99 Audiobook

New York, NY (March 19, 2026)—Da Capo, an imprint of Grand Central Publishing (GCP) and the Hachette Book Group announce the publication of IN MY DARKEST HOUR: A Memoir by Dave Mustaine with Joe Layden on September 8, 2026. “In My Darkest Hour is Dave Mustaine at his most revealing, vulnerable, and true,” stated Ben Schafer, Executive Editor, Da Capo. “With lacerating honesty and soulful reflection, he speaks to the universal human experience of facing serious illness and how it changes a person, their family and friends, and one’s relationship with creativity. Da Capo is proud to publish Dave Mustaine’s most unblinking memoir to date, one that isn’t only for Megadeth fans.”

“One of most harrowing experiences of my adult life has been my seven-year journey through cancer treatment and onward into remission,” Dave Mustaine says about the experiences detailed in the forthcoming book. “This story is considerably more than just go to the doctor, get diagnosed, get treatment and hopefully I live happily ever after. This was journey of me saving myself, staying alive, keeping my family together, and continuing to make music through it all.”

Dave Mustaine is no stranger to pain and suffering. He battled demons all his life—including an alcoholic father, addiction, and black magic—and turned fifty-eight believing he’d survived the worst. But in 2019, Mustaine was forced to face the loss of his instantly recognizable voice and the disintegration of his musical talent. Diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma at the back of his tongue, his entire career—and possibly his life—was about to end.

For Mustaine, it was one more opportunity to fight like hell.

In My Darkest Hour takes readers from the treatment room to the studio as Mustaine chronicles how his diagnosis inspired him to take up the pen and guitar pick, going from radiation and chemotherapy appointments straight into hours-long recording sessions, resulting in Megadeth’s sixteenth studio album, The Sick, The Dying…and the Dead! Along the way, Mustaine details how confronting his own mortality brought him closer to his family, taught him how to ask for help, strengthened his faith, and challenged the vulnerability of his art.

Filled with perseverance, hope, and the determination to never let the bastards grind you down, In My Darkest Hour is a masterful portrait of a Dave Mustaine that the world has yet to see, and serves as a moving reminder that even our most invincible heroes are human.

Now, six years removed from that initial diagnosis, Mustaine is seeing the biggest success of his 40-plus-year career with Megadeth’s final studio album and tour. Committed to go out on top, Megadeth’s new album (released in January 2026) debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 in the U.S., marking the band’s highest debut week ever on the chart. Around the world, the album garnered critical acclaim and hit #1 in 11 countries and landed Top 5 positions on 11 additional charts.

About Dave Mustaine: Dave Mustaine and his band Megadeth are always and forever the point of no return for metal. It would be nearly impossible to conceive where heavy music and culture would’ve gone without the band founded, fronted, and fueled by vocalist, guitarist, songwriter, and producer Dave Mustaine. As a founding member of Metallica, and then founder of Megadeth, the blast radius of Mustaine’s impact has only been magnified since 1983. Thus far, they have sold 50 million records worldwide, received a GRAMMY® Award (with 12 additional nominations), generated billions of streams, notched nine Top 10 entries on the Billboard 200, and enthralled millions of diehard fans in arenas and stadiums across the globe. Their catalog spans indisputable classics such as the platinum Peace Sells… But Who’s Buying? (cited at #8 on Rolling Stone’s “100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time”), the platinum Rust In Peace, and double-platinum Countdown To Extinction, which captured #2 on the Billboard 200. Meanwhile, Dystopia notched a Top 3 debut and earned a GRAMMY® Award in the category of “Best Metal Performance” with its title track. They only upped the ferocity with The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead! in 2022. It saw them return to #3, receive a “Best Metal Performance” GRAMMY® Award nomination for “We’ll Be Back,” and incite rave reviews. In 2026 Mustaine and the band reached the apex of their success: a #1 debut with their self-titled final album on the Billboard 200. Along with #1s on seven additional Billboard charts, Mustaine and Megadeth logged #1s in eleven countries. The band is currently on their multi-year farewell tour.

About Megadeth

MEGADETH are always and forever the point of no return for metal. The blast radius of their impact has only magnified since 1983. Thus far, they have sold 50 million records worldwide, received a GRAMMY® Award (with 12 additional nominations), generated billions of streams, notched nine Top 10 entries on the Billboard 200, and enthralled millions of diehard fans in arenas and stadiums across the globe. It saw them return to #3, receive a “Best Metal Performance” GRAMMY® Award nomination for “We’ll Be Back,” and incite rave reviews. Their influence can be felt practically everywhere—whether it be Post Malone proudly sporting a tattoo of “So Far, So Good… So What!, Homer Simpson’s iPod displaying their moniker during an episode, or Showtime’s smash hit series Billions and Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey utilizing MEGADETH in plot points. The band have delivered simultaneously relevant and timeless records in five decades now, setting the pace for the thrash renaissance of the eighties, tearing through the MTV years of the nineties with swagger and style, maintaining their stride in the post-Y2K 2000s, elevating to canonical heights in the social media and streaming era of the 2010s, and unassumingly harnessing the uncertainty and unease of the Post-Pandemic world into their boldest, biggest, and best work yet.

Along the way, MEGADETH extended their influence even further. During 2016, the band entered the spirits world with their very first signature beer À Tout Le Monde followed by Saison 13 in 2019. The brand asserted itself as a player in the beverage space and impressively moved over 15 million pints. Joining forces with Keystone in 2025, they ignite the next phase of Megadeth Beer on the biggest global platform yet.

Beyond his role as a music icon, Dave founded the visionary wine brand HOUSE OF MUSTAINE which uniquely blends music, culture, and fine winemaking. The brand launched with the 2013 Symphony Interrupted Cabernet Sauvignon which was inspired by Dave Mustaine’s groundbreaking collaboration with the San Diego Symphony.

CLOSE ENEMIES

BAND FEATURING MEMBERS OF
AEROSMITH, THE BABYS, AND SHERYL CROW

UNVEIL VIDEO FOR
“TAKE A PILL”
TO CELEBRATE THE ALBUM’S RELEASE
WATCH THE CLIP HERE

AND READ A Q&A WITH THE MEMBERS BELOW

ALBUM ARTWORK (download)

CLOSE ENEMIES—the red-hot band of music industry veterans with legendary careers (Aerosmith, The Babys, Sheryl Crow)—have today (March 13) released their self-titled debut album via TLG|ROCK / Virgin Music Group and unveiled the video for the unflinching song “Take A Pill.” Watch it HERE and listen to the album HERE.

The band describes “Take A Pill” as “a modern rock gut check for a culture that would rather numb the pain than face it.” It follows the album’s five previously released tracks: “More Than I Could Ever Need,” “Rain,” “Sweet Baby Jesus,” “Inside Out,” and “Sound Of A Train.”

CLOSE ENEMIES serves as the roadmap for the second act, a group of artists creating music and now just playing for the sake of the song. The red-hot rock group is comprised of a group of five close friends, each with an illustrious musical career. Tom Hamilton—multiple Grammy winner, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame member, and bassist of the biggest-selling American rock band of all time, Aerosmith—is joined by legendary drummer Tony Brock (The Babys and Rod Stewart), touring veteran guitarist Peter Stroud (Sheryl Crow and Don Henley), guitarist, engineer and sound technician Trace Foster (Aerosmith, Rolling Stones, AC/DC), along with vocalist Chasen Hampton (who’s been singing professionally since the age of 11 and was a member of Hollywood Records band The Party). The band’s individual bios are HERE. Q&A’s with each are below:

TOM HAMILTON

Q: You all bring such different experiences and career paths to the group. Can you describe the band’s special chemistry and why it works?

Tom Hamiton (TH): I think we all had a yearning to put a band together with people who are easy to hang out with. We all have years of experience playing with an assortment of various personalities. I love everybody I’ve ever been in a band with. It’s been intense. There’s been a lot of excitement, good and bad. Everybody in Close Enemies has a great combination of musical expertise and personal expertise. We all know how to be good band members.

Q: If you were to pick only one song from the album that captures what makes the band special, which one would that be and why?

(TH): I have a hard time deciding between “Sound of a Train” and “Rain.” I’ve always been drawn to songs that deal with loneliness and yearning. I think both of those songs cover those with powerful, powerful guitars, bass drums and vocals.

Q: There’s always two sides to every band—what happens in the studio and what happens on stage. Now that you’ve played an array of shows and have more planned for later this year, can you tell us about why music fans should come and see Close Enemies?

(TH): I think anyone who loves rock music would like our songs. This band knows how to deliver the message that fans want to see and hear. We love playing live and I think people can see it when they come to our shows.

TONY BROCK

Q: You all bring such different experiences and career paths to the group. Can you describe the band’s special chemistry and why it works?

Tony Brock (TB): The magic we have when we get together is an indescribable feeling of creativity! Every one of us has had the pleasure of playing with the best musicians in the world, we have an undeniable chemistry that causes a respect for each other to try everyone’s ideas!

Q: If you were to pick only one song from the album that captures what makes the band special, which one would that be and why?

(TB): I personally enjoy “Rain,” as it is the first song that I was able to be a part of in the arrangement/song writing and felt I contributed a little of what I like to bring to the table!

Q: There’s always two sides to every band—what happens in the studio and what happens on stage. Now that you’ve played an array of shows and have more planned for later this year, can you tell us about why music fans should come and see Close Enemies?

(TB): In the studio we are concentrating on the performance and making sure we are recording each other’s individual sounds that we must have! On stage we can stretch a little and put a comradery grin on our faces, which is a whole other level we go too! Watching the audience react to that moment is very special!

PETER STROUD

Q: You all bring such different experiences and career paths to the group. Can you describe the band’s special chemistry and why it works?

Peter Stroud (PS): Heck, the bass player from Aerosmith, drummer from The Babys, both who I idolized coming up as a player…Angus Young’s guitar tech and a singer from Mickey Mouse Club? Who would’ve ever thought we’d all come together? We set the game rules from the word “go” that everyone had total creative freedom. Simply bring it to the table and we’ll explore it. The beauty of this group for me is never knowing what each of these guys will add to a song. Including our sixth songwriter, Gary Stier.

Q: If you were to pick only one song from the album that captures what makes the band special, which one would that be and why?

(PS): “Rain.” It encompasses everything about this band that we’ve set out to be. Literally, everyone contributed to this song. The basic track you’re hearing is from the original first day we wrote and laid it down in my basement. Even my solo remained from that first recording.

Q: There’s always two sides to every band—what happens in the studio and what happens on stage. Now that you’ve played an array of shows and have more planned for later this year, can you tell us about why music fans should come and see Close Enemies?

(PS): When we’re writing a new song together I’m always envisioning how it’ll come off live on the big stage. This is the rock band I’ve always wanted to be in. Exciting, high energy, slightly unpredictable…both for me and our audience. And with good songs. All I’m hoping is that it comes off that way.

TRACE FOSTER

Q: You all bring such different experiences and career paths to the group. Can you describe the band’s special chemistry and why it works?

Trace Foster (TF): It’s because we all have different backgrounds that it does work. The common denominator is we have done it all so the egos are out the door. We are having fun and have nothing to prove to anyone. Because of this it allows us to really focus on the music

Q: If you were to pick only one song from the album that captures what makes the band special, which one would that be and why?

(TF): “Rain.” I had the original idea for the song. I presented what I had to the guys in the early afternoon…and by evening we were recording it. Each person contributed parts to that song. There were no squabbles or arguments just musicians doing what we do best. The song became way more than I could have imagined.

Q: There’s always two sides to every band—what happens in the studio and what happens on stage. Now that you’ve played an array of shows and have more planned for later this year, can you tell us about why music fans should come and see Close Enemies?

(TF): It’s nice to forget about life for a while. There’s too much negativity in this world and we all need a release from it. Watching us do our thing and playing the music that we all love is the perfect release.

CHASEN HAMPTON

Q: You all bring such different experiences and career paths to the group. Can you describe the band’s special chemistry and why it works?

Chasen Hampton (CH): The collective amount of years each member has spent in this business, the work, the sacrifice, the incredible highs and the great disappointments that come with a career in the music industry and in life —have shaped who we are. We’ve all spent a lifetime supporting great artists, playing behind the scenes, helping build something bigger than ourselves. But this time this is ours.

Q: If you were to pick only one song from the album that captures what makes the band special, which one would that be and why?

(CH): If I had to pick one song that captures what makes this band special, it would be “Sound Of A Train.” I’m definitely partial to it because it was the first recorded vocal that I sent to the band…it felt meant to be. Hearing that “sound of the train” is the call–it’s that moment. The train is leaving…the time is now…are you getting on?

Q: There’s always two sides to every band—what happens in the studio and what happens on stage. Now that you’ve played an array of shows and have more planned for later this year, can you tell us about why music fans should come and see Close Enemies?

(CH): On stage is where it fully comes alive. We’re a no click-track, no background tracks, old-school tube amp band. Plug and play. What you see is what you get. Five guys in a room making noise together and wanting to get you up and rocking. There’s no safety net and I think audiences feel that in the best way. One of the things we’ve read consistently in show reviews is how much fun we look like we’re having up there. That means everything to me. It’s contagious.

The world is a better place with SOUNDING ARROW—the indie solo project of veteran recording artist and touring musician Scott Kinnebrew (Truth and Salvage Co)—in it. Today (March 11), the singer, songwriter, and musician has released the video for “Why You Frontin?”—a melodically rich song that combines folky stylings, jangly guitars, and Kinnebrew’s candid musings about the world around him.

“Why You Frontin?” is the fourth single from SOUNDING ARROW’s second album SKYMAN, out April 10 on Blackbird Record Label. In the video, Kinnebrew is seen performing the song on his porch in Asheville, NC, interspersed with old/original Super 8 family footage shot by his grandfather (John Davison). View the video HERE and pre-save the single HERE.

Kinnebrew explains that “Why You Frontin?” on which he’s joined by Gary Jules “Mad World” from the Donnie Darko soundtrack) and Katie Crawford, is “about ego death. It comes from the All One ethos, hence the mantra-like chorus ‘I know you.’ He adds: “The title comes from the bridge, where the song is telling the listener that enlightenment is coming, and all you need to do is drop your sense of self to receive it. Why You Frontin? Why the posturing? Why You Frontin? Why the facade? “Why you Frontin?….I KNOW YOU.” Read the Q&A below with Kinnebrew for more insight into the song.

The SKYMAN album was co-produced with Kinnebrew by Gary Jules and mixed by Bill Reynolds (Band of Horses, The Avett Brothers’ Emotionalism). It weaves a vivid sonic landscape rich with the textures of rock, folk, country, blues, British invasion, R&B, and pop. It’s a brew that resists classification, as it lands somewhere between tradition and invention—what Kinnebrew thinks of as “sonic impressionism.”

SKYMAN follows SOUNDING ARROW 2017 debut album LOVING IS BREATHING. This past September (2025), SKYMAN’s warm and radiant title track—both heady and light as a feather, a perfect tonic for these times—was unveiled as the first single/video. Watch the video for “Skyman”—directed by Doug Frerichs and filmed in Kinnebrew’s adopted hometown of Asheville, North Carolina—HERE.

“Skyman” was followed in January by the uplifting “Zero Gravity” single. The video was also directed by Doug Frerichs and filmed around various Southern California locations including the San Fernando Valley, 6thand Broadway in DTLA, Frogtown, and Calabasas. It ends with scenes of Kinnebrew up in space floating above civilization below and illuminating the song’s lyrics about escaping from an increasingly heavy world. Listen to the track HERE and watch the video HERE. Read the press release HERE

Next, in February, Kinnebrew released “Lucky Shaman.” The track’s freewheeling musical brew comprising indie, blues, psychedelia, garage rock, and even ‘60s AM pop is matched with lyrics inspired by the time that Kinnebrew lived for four months in the Ecuadorian Amazon and his experience at a plant medicine ceremony (ayahuasca) there. Watch the colorful animated video HERE and pre-save the single, out this Friday, February 13, HERE.

Q&A with Scott Kinnebrew
About “Why You Frontin?”

–Seems “Why You Frontin?” was inspired by your travels across the country. When did you travel, where did you go, and what did you discover?

If someone pointed to a 15-passenger van and said to me, “that’s your bench, get in, we’re goin’ on tour,” I’d be happy as a clam. I just have a rambling spirit, all I can say, and it’s been cooped up in Asheville for more than a minute now. For several years, from 2009-2015, I traveled the country incessantly with my band Truth & Salvage Co. We joked that our main calling was to bear witness to this beautiful country we live in, less playing music.

My first travel bug hit me in my teens when Jerry Garcia was still alive and every fiber of my being wanted to leave hometown New Orleans and follow The Grateful Dead. My neighbor brought me to see them in 1988 and it changed my world. Honestly less the music and more the wild caravan of Deadheads. They were so freaky and I loved it.  And the day after the show I was a deadhead, still with two years of high school to complete.  After much persistence, I convinced my parents to let me do a summer tour in ’90 and that was my first road trip with buds, and it was incredible. Our ride was a black 1969 Ford F-150 that we named “Indubitably.” The tour was awesome, and we lived it up, (saw Brent Mydland’s last show).  On the way back to New Orleans, we ran out of money, and we went to police stations and asked for gas vouchers (and got them). And the truck broke down in Sikeston, MO where we went to a church and asked if we could sleep on the pews and they got us a room at a nearby motel instead.  Different times than now.

I only followed them for a couple of summers, and hit the Vermont National Rainbow gathering, and in ’91 I started school at The Evergreen State College in Olympia and met a rocker girl and fell in love with her and also in love with The Pixies.

I have a lot of foreign travel stories. I lived in Ecuador for a year and after graduating college for about two years, I was a Merchant Marine and sailed all over the world. Best save that story for when I write a song about sailing and need to answer some press questions.

As for a discovery–you can’t sleep on the ground at a rest area, even if there are 50 of you doing it. 😂

–What inspired the sentiment and song title “Why You Frontin?”?

“Why You Frontin?” wrote itself.  It started with some chords I was playing that sparked a melody and quickly the song unfolded. My wife (Katie) was out of town and I basically spent the weekend writing all and recording most of what you hear in the finished song.  Words form from humming vowel sounds which turn into a cadence which ultimately gets whittled into lyrics.  I may have been reading a book talking about how the 60’s inspired the search for America (not a new concept). There is a phrase in the song that says “I’ve been yipping, I’ve been howling,” and that is exactly what my mother-in-law says I do when I’m writing a song. “All that yipping and howling turned out pretty good.”  So I yip and I howl until the words form, and a lot of times I don’t really understand what I’m writing until I have time to digest it.

“Why You Frontin?” is about ego death. It comes from the All One ethos, hence the mantra-like chorus “I know you.”

The title comes from the bridge, where the song is telling the listener that enlightenment is coming, and all you need to do is drop your sense of self to receive it. Why You Frontin? Why the posturing? Why You Frontin? Why the facade? “Why you Frontin?….I KNOW YOU.”

–Can you talk about the choices of stock footage shown in the video?

The footage is all original family footage my grandfather John Davison shot. And it had been in my mother’s attic for decades. I found the box of reels when helping my parents downsize. I had the tapes digitized and actually sat on them for a couple of years. I can thank this album campaign we are on for making me need one more video.  Watching the reels with the purpose of creating a video in mind, I could see the potential for making something really powerful.

And there is something subtly powerful about the video, and I credit my grandfather for having a great eye and the forethought to capture his family as time was fleeting, and my editor Doug Frerichs who has an excellent knack for pairing sound with visuals—an incredible sense of timing.

I didn’t know what footage he would use, (there were five 15-minute tapes), and I wasn’t expecting to cry, but so far I have been unsuccessful in watching it without shedding a tear.

The video achieved the difficult goal of completing the vision of the song. The two are very symbiotic and complement each other completely. This is not easy to achieve. As Bill Reynolds (who mixed the track) accurately describes the video, “it is magic.”

–Where were you filmed singing and playing guitar?

I’m on my porch! I had expectations of filming the band performance at a dive bar up the street. And have friends dress like the early 60’s and come dance the foxtrot. But after shooting three other videos for this campaign, I was tapped. Finally, it dawned on me “Scott, why you frontin? You don’t need a band and dancers, you need to be vulnerable bro!”

So I asked Katie [his wife] to film me. I dressed up halfway decent to honor my grandparents, took off my ball cap, and removed my sunglasses so you can see my eyes.  And I lit a fire in our awesome porch fireplace as a symbolic gesture of the physical form transforming into spirit.

–Musically, the song has the signature Sounding Arrow lightness of touch which is very comforting to listen to. Can you talk about how this “lightness” is sonically achieved?

Well the song is chock full of Major 7’s which does a lot of heavy lifting. And it has stacked harmonies, with Katie singing the highest harmony, which gives the song a high ceiling. And on top of that we put this very high pitch synth that makes the chorus sonically stratospheric.

Composition-wise the chorus is legato and really floating. We are singing “I” for a whole bar before singing “know you” for another bar, and repeat it. That’s it, that’s the whole chorus. It gives it a real undulating feel.

–Finally, what are your thoughts about the state of America? Will she emerge from her current state of darkness?

Ay yai yai. Things are abysmal. We were on tour just recently, and at the hotel in Davenport, Iowa I happened to flip the channel to “Leave It To Beaver.” Though I’ve forgotten every episode, there was a time I watched every single episode. It was so nostalgic. It was actually comforting, which was discomforting. It was right there, the version of America our current administration and the MAGA movement is striving for. A version of America that actually NEVER existed, as it failed to include all the faces that made up America. Didn’t we all hear in school our country referred to as The Melting Pot? All of us, right? How can you unmelt the melting pot? It’s a fool’s errand.

Another thing, “Lola” by the Kinks was a hit in 1970. “Rocky Horror Picture Show” was released in 1975. These are historic cultural landmarks and institutions in our history. Widely loved, sung, danced to, and accepted. You would think that presently as a society we would be more welcoming of our Transgender community, but unfortunately, we have seriously regressed.

Our last night of the “Leave It To Beaver Tour” happened to be in Minneapolis at the height of the community protest. The show was at The Parkway Theater which was less than a mile from where the protests were popping off. The spirit of resilience of the audience, the staff, the band we were supporting (Lissie) was super moving. They were charged, and really feeling solidarity. And it was inspiring. This could be happening in my small liberal town of Asheville. This can be happening in your town.  We might be finding ourselves exactly in the same scenario. And I think Minneapolis is setting a fine example of how we must resist. So as for our current state of darkness…man, it might be just the beginning, but love conquers hate

CHLOE TRUJILLO Shares Q&A In Support Of Her Just-Released ‘Rebirth’ EP

DATE: MARCH 10, 2026

FROM: MARCEE RONDAN

CHLOE TRUJILLO
SHARES Q&A
IN SUPPORT OF HER JUST-RELEASED
‘REBIRTH’
EP

Last week (March 5) CHLOE TRUJILLO released her new independent solo EP REBIRTH, along with a new video for “Lies” from the collection. Watch the clip HERE and read a Q&A (below) with the Paris-born and Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter, visual artist, designer, and consummate creative. She discusses her musical influences, artistic inspiration, and balancing family life, while continuing to evolve as an artist.

“Lies” follows the album’s first single, the soulfully expressive metal song “As the Sky is Falling Down.” The track’s ominous guitar underscores CHLOE’s moving and haunting delivery. The delicate hum gives way to a trudging groove, and CHLOE proclaims, “As the sky is falling down, I stand tall, wreckage all around, but I won’t fall. Her spoken word transfixes over the turbulent bridge. Listen to the song HERE and watch the video, which includes dramatic scenes of CHLOE shot at the ocean, HERE.

REBIRTH evokes the sound of change out loud. You can hear the past being shed, the present being seized, and the future being manifested through her spirited conjurations of soulfully expressive metal. CHLOE carefully crafted what would become REBIRTH throughout 2024 and 2025. Her songwriting process is ongoing and ever evolving. When choosing the songs for the new EP, she says, “I have a stash of hundreds of songs waiting to be properly recorded, so for this EP I selected four of those to finish. I already have another 6 or 7 in mind for my next release.” Following writing, she teamed up with producer Jake Carmona to bring it to life in the studio.

CHLOE TRUJILLO
Q&A

Q: How do you feel your new material may differ from previous songs, musically and/or lyrically?

CHLOE TRUJILLO (CH): First of all, I believe that we all evolve as human beings—and as an artist, I’m thriving to learn and grow each time I create something new. I’m always experimenting with musical and vocal styles in my projects, having studied many genres of music and singing (from opera, to 12 bar blues, to musicals, gospel and metal). I also love to incorporate different aspects of these genres when appropriate, to allow myself to express the truest of emotions a certain piece of music calls for. On this latest project, I gave myself total freedom to be who I am now—fully expressing myself musically and lyrically, especially lyrically! One cannot hide behind a voice, and words are so powerful. I used to be shy, and scared, maybe even ashamed of who I was deep inside—I wanted to hide, stay in that hypothetical comfort zone. Learning to accept myself and letting the art, music, lyrics flow through me and sharing all of it with the world has been the best reward and the strongest healing for me.

Q: What was the first album you owned?

(CH): Well my dad’s best friend used to work from Polydor, so he would gift me with promo singles. I remember having a clear limited-edition vinyl of “Straight Between The Eyes” from Rainbow, to which I choreographed a routine as a kid. But the first album I purchased was actually Slayer’s Reign In Blood.

Q: Is there one song lyric you can’t get out of your head?

(CH): They always change, right now, we just flew back from the Brit Awards, where Ozzy [Osbourne] received the lifetime achievement award, and the band played “No More Tears.” The lines—“The light in the window is a crack in the sky, a stairway to darkness in the blink of an eye”—have been in my head for a couple of days!

Q: Beyond music, you’re a multi-faceted artist, is your inspiration different with each medium?

(CH): I believe my inspiration comes from the same place—it’s just expressed differently. My process is simple but not that easy. I open up and allow the universe to speak through me, at least that’s how I can best describe it. I am like a channel transmitting messages, visions, melodies to who is there to receive it. What’s most difficult about it, is to try to keep the transmission as pure as possible…similar to when you try to describe a dream you just had, it’s really hard to do, you then realize how words are limiting…so I do words with art and music, all conveying whatever I am receiving in the moment of creation.

Q: With all your artistic endeavors, how do you balance those roles while being a wife and mother?

(CH): It’s a juggle, but I’m a bit of a workaholic so even if it means less sleep, I’ll go create, I need to, every day. When the kids were babies and I didn’t have much time to myself, I still sang to them, inventing lyrics on the spot, I painted during their naps, I drew things on the sand while at the beach with them (we lived in Venice Beach then), and I believed it inspired them to become the artists they are today. As for being a wife, we are both creatives, we are both Scorpios. I think it works perfectly—we are so alike in many ways that we understand the sacred aspect of art making and the aloneness we each need, and it brings us closer together.

Q: If you could have a conversation with anyone who’s living or dead, who would it be and why?

(CH): My grandfather! He passed away when I was in my twenties, but now I wish I had more of his stories and insights on life and creativity. I’ve always wanted to write about his experience as an opera singer surviving WWII—he was living proof that music and art can truly change lives.

Q: What do you look forward to most when you return home from the road?

(CH): If my family is in town (we all tour a lot!), I enjoy hanging out with them in our kitchen, catching up. Otherwise: sleeping in my own bed!

With their own signature sound, Robby Krieger & The Soul Savages have the courage and ability to step over the boundaries of sophisticated music. They released their acclaimed self-titled debut album in January 2024. The 10-song album includes “Ricochet Rabbit.” Watch the video HERE.

No one plays guitar like Robby Krieger. His sound is immediately recognizable by way of his sans pick finger style, his melodic approach to the electric guitar, and his adventurous jazzy slide offerings. The multiple Grammy Award recipient has also enjoyed success as a jazz-fusion guitarist, recording many solo albums since the late 70’s including the Grammy-nominated album “Singularity” (2010).

Krieger and The Soul Savages’ Bassist/Songwriter Kevin “Brandino” Brandon co-wrote and recorded with Robby on his “Singularity” album. The top session bassist has won over half a dozen Grammy Awards as well as three Emmy Awards. His huge list of credits includes James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Michael Jackson, and Beyonce. A veteran from the school of funk and jazz, Kevin is known for building a rock-solid foundation with his creative bass lines.

Meeting many years ago, on stage, at the Wiltern Theatre, Keyboardist/Songwriter Ed Roth, and Robby Krieger have been musically inseparable ever since. Exclusively preferring vintage organs and vintage keyboards for his work, the Grammy nominee’s playing cuts across styles and genres as he masterfully executes jazz, rock, and pop. As a session player, Roth has worked with twelve Grammy winners including Ringo Starr, Brothers Johnson, Coolio, Shuggie Otis, and Annie Lennox. His Billboard top 100 jazz song of the year, “Blue,” has been streamed more than a million times.

Krieger & The Soul Savages’ dynamic rhythm and youthful energy is provided by Drummer/Songwriter Franklin Vanderbilt. His previous musical credits include working with twenty-two-time Grammy winner Stevie Wonder, drumming for legendary Chaka Khan, recording with fusion jazz pioneer Stanley Clarke and touring worldwide with Lenny Kravitz. Vanderbilt’s drumming cements the band’s deep grooves and brings savage to the soul.

ABOUT THE COPA ROOM:

“We love rock music ourselves and as fans want to bring an experience that fans enjoy,” says Grayson McNees, General Manager, Tuscany Suites & Casino. “We’ve upgraded our sound system and made changes to the room to make it capable of providing an experience that meets both brand and fan standards. Now that those are in place, we are very excited to host these shows.” McNees adds that he and his team were “heavily inspired by The Viper Room,” the legendary Los Angeles club, and feel that rock audiences will resonate with the COPA ROOM. The COPA ROOM will present “no cover” bands monthly but will mix in ticketed shows as well. Our goal is to bring in the best acts we can for the Vegas rock community and visitors to the city,” adds McNees.

About THE STRAY CATS:

THE STRAY CATS, the band that put Rockabilly music back on the record charts in the early ’80s, scored several big hits on both sides of the Atlantic thanks to a striking visual 1950’s style brought “up to date” with exaggerated pompadours and colorful tattoos and as well as genuine musical chops that evoked the best players of rockabilly’s original heyday. Formed by guitarist/vocalist Brian Setzer, upright bass player Lee Rocker and drummer Slim Jim Phantom in the Long Island town of Massapequa, NY, in 1979, the trio shared a love for Rockabilly music. After banging around New York for a few months, in the summer of 1980, and seeing a pompadoured kid on the cover of UK magazine NME, they hopped a plane to London where a rockabilly revival movement was just beginning to emerge. Their massive hits and videos include “Runaway Boys,” “Rock This Town,” “Stray Cat Strut” “(She’s) Sexy + 17,” and “I Won’t Stand in Your Way.”
