NOTHING MORE
RELEASES NEW VIDEO FOR “EXISTENTIAL DREAD”
AND CONTINUES CONVERSATION ABOUT AI AND ART
WATCH THE VIDEO HERE

THE TRACK, FROM THEIR ‘CARNAL’ ALBUM, AND VIDEO
FOLLOW THE BAND’S FOUR #1 SINGLES FROM ‘CARNAL’

3x-Grammy-nominated and four-time #1 rock outfit NOTHING MORE (@nothingmoremusic) caused quite a stir about their latest video, “EXISTENTIAL DREAD,” before it was even officially released yesterday (August 18).

For the video, posted at Better Noise Music’s YouTube page HERE, the boundary-pushing band partnered with AI director/editor Jurassic Smoothie. After only a teaser trailer was shared (Friday, August 15), a debate online about the use of AI to create music videos and art was quickly sparked. The next day, singer Jonny Hawkins spoke with RockFeed to personally share his thoughts.

He also commented on the band’s Instagram in response to fans being unhappy with the AI medium. “AI didn’t make a video for us. We hired an artist, I plotted out a vision, theme and visuals. Then that artist used AI to start generating images that he edited together through multiple versions with notes… and then tweaked that into a visual experience for the viewer.” Hawkins adds: “There is a huge difference between *letting* a machine create something and *using* a machine to create something. Nine Inch Nails is a perfect example of a prolific artist who used machines to sculpt their sound. It’s all about how you use the tool that determines art, not which tools you are using.”

The release of “EXISTENTIAL DREAD” comes on the heels of the band earning their fourth #1, from the CARNAL album, on the Billboard “Mainstream Rock Airplay” and Mediabase “Active Rock” charts with “FREEFALL” (feat. Chris Daughtry).” A new version of the bracing “FREEFALL,” featuring 6x Platinum-certified rock artist Chris Daughtry, was released March 28 on all digital outlets. The “FREEFALL” video movingly tells the story about a firefighter who is struggling with his mental health and unexpectedly finds a new life-direction after making a chance connection with a homeless dog. Watch it on Better Noise Music’s official YouTube page HERE, and watch the new performance video cut of “FREEFALL” HERE.

NOTHING MORE (@nothingmoremusic), the boundary-pushing 3x-Grammy-nominated outfit, continues to build an impressive head of steam, landing four #1 singles from a single album. With this chart distinction, the band joins a special group of artists including Metallica, Linkin Park, Five Finger Death Punch, Papa Roach, and Falling In Reverse who’ve achieved the same honor.

With “FREEFALL” (feat. Chris Daughtry),” NOTHING MOREJonny Hawkins (vocals), Mark Vollelunga (guitar), Daniel Oliver (bass), and Ben Anderson (drums)—have returned this week to the #1 spot on the Billboard “Mainstream Rock Airplay” and Mediabase “Active Rock” charts.

FREEFALL” is the fourth single from their critically acclaimed CARNAL album via Better Noise Music to vault into the #1 position following “HOUSE ON SAND” (feat. Eric Vanlerberghe from I Prevail),” “ANGEL SONG (feat. David Draiman),” and “IF IT DOESN’T HURT.” Watch the new performance video cut of “FREEFALL” HERE.

“It’s been incredible to see a song that means so much to us resonate with so many of you,” says the band’s Daniel Oliver. “We’re very honored to have Chris Daughtry lend his voice and spirit to this one. Huge thanks to K9s For Warriors for the amazing work you do, and to everyone else who helped bring this song to life. You’ve taken us to the top of the charts for the 4th time in a row!”

“It’s a privilege to celebrate this win with a band I admire and love so much!” says Chris Daughtry.

NOTHING MORE blend a full-on assault with soaring melodies and unique soundscapes in songs that unflinchingly embrace raw emotion. CARNAL has to date amassed 133 million streams. The album received praise for being “one of the band’s most eclectic releases to date” (Blabbermouth) and having 15 “energized rock anthems that capture the band’s infectious live prowess” (Knotfest).

The deluxe edition of CARNAL was released across all digital outlets on March 28 and is also available on CD and vinyl. The “FREEFALL” video movingly tells the story about a firefighter who is struggling with his mental health and unexpectedly finds a new life-direction after making a chance connection with a homeless dog. Watch it on Better Noise Music’s official YouTube page.

The video for “FREEFALL (feat. Chris Daughtry)”—filmed in Clifton, Tennessee—features the town’s fire chief and sheriff, who also served as technical advisors on the subject matter. In casting for this narrative-driven video, the band prioritized collaborating with individuals who understand the unique challenges faced by firefighters and first responders. To ensure even more authenticity, they enlisted real-life heroes as technical advisors. Additionally, director/actor Michael Lombardi was asked by the band to star in the video because of his personal experience and affiliation with firefighters. Lombardi is well-known for his role as a series regular in the acclaimed FX series “Rescue Me,” which aired for 100 episodes and received multiple Golden Globe and Emmy nominations and wins and delved into the lives of firefighters grappling with real-life issues, including the aftermath of 9/11 trauma and personal struggles.

NOTHING MORE partnered with K9s For Warriors for the release of “FREEFALL (feat. Chris Daughtry),” which is the nation’s leading provider of highly trained Service Dogs for Veterans with invisible wounds of war. As a part of its mission, K9s’ Station Dog program partners with law enforcement and first responder agencies to provide reliable, high quality therapy dogs that offer emotional support to officers, firefighters, dispatchers, victims, and others exposed to trauma in the line of duty. Every day in the U.S., approximately 20 Veterans take their own lives, while more than 1,000 dogs are euthanized. Determined to end Veteran suicide, K9s For Warriors provides highly-trained Service Dogs—many of them rescues—to military Veterans suffering from PTSD or traumatic brain injury at no financial cost to the Veteran. Since 2011, K9s For Warriors has graduated more than 1,000 Warriors and rescued more than 2,000 dogs.

In connection with the song and video release, the band features pet-related merchandise on its official website, with a portion of proceeds supporting organizations like K9s For Warriors. Additionally, a donation link is included in the video, allowing for donations to be made directly to the organization’s website. NOTHING MORE has raised the goal of $20,000 which is what it costs to sponsor, rescue and train a station dog.

NOTHING MORE, one of rock’s most electrifying bands, continues to be an unstoppable force. The boundary-pushing 3x-Grammy-nominated outfit—Jonny Hawkins (vocals), Mark Vollelunga (guitar), Daniel Oliver (bass), and Ben Anderson (drums)—have now landed another song, “HOUSE ON SAND” (feat. Eric Vanlerberghe from I Prevail), in the #1 spot on the Billboard “Mainstream Rock Airplay” and Mediabase “Active Rock” charts this week.

HOUSE ON SAND” marks the third single from their critically acclaimed CARNAL album via Better Noise Music to achieve the #1 spot on the heels of “ANGEL SONG (feat. David Draiman)” and “IF IT DOESN’T HURT.”

As singer Jonny Hawkins exclaims, “In hockey, 3 goals in a game is a hat trick, so how about in rock-n-roll we call it an ass kick!?!? Today we are announcing a total ass kicking…three #1s in a row at radio! Radio has been a huge part of our journey ever since our first #1 in 2014 with ‘THIS IS THE TIME.’ Even so, to have three #1s on album is pretty surreal. So thankful for all of our allies at radio!”

The deluxe edition of CARNAL was released across all digital outlets on March 28 while pre-orders for the physical release on CD and vinyl—due out May 16—are now available HERE. Five other bonus tracks on CARNAL (DELUXE) include a live version of the “ANGEL SONG” recorded from the band’s set at Aftershock Festival 2024 where NOTHING MORE was joined onstage by guest vocalist David Draiman of Disturbed; two remixed songs from Matt Good (Hollywood Undead, Asking Alexandria) and Justin “JD” Deblieck (Ice Nine Kills, Motionless In White); plus a new song that was released February 7, “WE’RE ALL GONNA DIE.” A new version of the bracing “FREEFALL,” featuring 6x Platinum-certified rock artist Chris Daughtry, was released March 28 on all digital outlets.

NOTHING MORE has already helped raise over $14,000 of the $20,000 goal that it costs to sponsor, rescue and train a station dog!

STARTS MARCH 29 IN CINCINNATI, OH

ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH K9S FOR WARRIORS

NOTHING MORE – CARNAL (DELUXE) Cover Artwork (Download HERE)

NOTHING MORE is one of rock’s most electrifying bands. They blend a full-on assault with soaring melodies and unique soundscapes in songs that unflinchingly embrace raw emotion. The boundary-pushing 3x-Grammy-nominated outfit—Jonny Hawkins (vocals), Mark Vollelunga (guitar), Daniel Oliver (bass), and Ben Anderson (drums)—today (March 28) have released the deluxe edition of their acclaimed 2024 album CARNAL across all digital outlets via Better Noise Music. Pre-orders for the physical release on CD and vinyl—due out May 16—are now available HERE.

CARNAL (DELUXE) adds on five bonus tracks, including a new version of the bracing “FREEFALL,” featuring 6x Platinum-certified rock artist Chris Daughtry, available now on all digital outlets. The “FREEFALL” video movingly tells the story about a firefighter who is struggling with his mental health and unexpectedly finds a new life-direction after making a chance connection with a homeless dog. Watch it on Better Noise Music’s official YouTube page. NOTHING MORE teamed up again with director Stephen Wayne Mallet (who did the same honors for the band’s “Fade In, Fade Out” video, from 2017’s THE STORIES WE TELL OURSELVES album, which has over 10M views).

“We wrote an anthem for the people who find themselves in an uncertain and chaotic phase of their life,” explains singer Jonny Hawkins about “FREEFALL.” “Every single one of us have had, or will have, experiences where it feels like the rug is pulled from under us… an end to a relationship, a job loss, or the death of a close family member. These times can be filled with anxiety, or they can be filled with spiritual euphoria as we accept our transformation. We’ve always believed that our losses are invitations to ascend to a higher level of reality…and this song is our way of encapsulating that realization. Chris Daughtry elevated that feeling with his soaring and pristine vocals. We are so honored to have him on one of the best songs we’ve ever written.”

The video—filmed in Clifton, Tennessee—features the town’s fire chief and sheriff, who also served as technical advisors on the subject matter.

K9s For Warriors is the nation’s leading provider of highly trained Service Dogs for Veterans with invisible wounds of war.

Nothing More have always wanted our music and lyrics to be a shelter for those in need,” says guitarist Mark Vollelunga. “With ‘FREEFALL,’ we want to let people know they are not alone when it feels like everything is collapsing around you. So we did something really special; we teamed up with K9s For Warriors to bring more awareness to those that struggle with PTSD and mental health trauma. It’s their mission to train service dogs and pair them up with veterans and therapy dogs for first responders in need. We fully believe in the power these animals have to help create peace and bring about healthy changes in their companions. I recently met my county constable, Kathryn Brown, who was given a therapy dog from K9s For Warriors and she shared with me just how much Biggie, makes her station and life unbelievably better. So let’s get more of these service dogs and therapy dogs trained and paired up with veterans and first responders in need! I personally know that by rescuing animals, my family and life has been enriched tenfold. And I would say that even though we might think we’re the ones doing the rescuing… they are actually rescuing us.”

“We are incredibly grateful to NOTHING MORE for their support of our organization, especially our dedication to helping first responders,” said K9s For Warriors Chief Revenue Officer Lindsay Grayson. “K9s For Warriors has the privilege every day to see the impact a Station Dog has on those who put their lives on the line to keep our communities safe. NOTHING MORE’s generosity allows us to continue changing Veteran and first responder lives.”

In connection with the song and video release, the band will be featuring pet-related merchandise on its official website, with a portion of proceeds supporting organizations like K9s For Warriors. Additionally, a donation link will be included in the video, allowing for donations to be made directly to the organization’s website.

CARNAL has seen the band achieve two #1 Active Rock radio singles—“ANGEL SONG (feat. David Draiman)” and “IF IT DOESN’T HURT”—and has to date amassed 100 million streams. The album received praise for being “one of the band’s most eclectic releases to date” (Blabbermouth) and having 15 “energized rock anthems that capture the band’s infectious live prowess” (Knotfest).

Originally released on June 24, 2014 via Eleven Seven Music, now Better Noise Music, NOTHING MORE “raised the bar for modern hard rock” (Cryptic Rock) with its soaring vocal melodies, meticulous atypical rhythmic stctures and huge anthemic choruses. The album debuted at #33 on Billboard’s Top 200 charts while landing at #3 on US Hard Rock Albums, #8 on US Independent Albums, #11 on US Rock Albums, and #19 on US Digital Albums. It included three Top 5 singles—“This Is The Time (Ballast)” (#2), “Here’s To The Heartache” (#4) and “Jenny” (#3)—and the Top 20 single “Mr. MTV” (#12). To date its received 323.9 million global streams and its music videos have amassed over 96.7 million views combined.

The San Antonio, TX-formed band—Jonny Hawkins (vocals), Mark Vollelunga (guitar), Daniel Oliver (bass), and Ben Anderson (drums)—released their latest album CARNAL in June via Better Noise Music. Labeled as “a standout” by Blabbermouth, who described the song as “reminiscent of the vibe from ‘Down with the Sickness.’” NOTHING MORE will join Disturbed in February 2025 on the second leg of Disturbed’s “The Sickness 25th Anniversary Tour” alongside Daughtry following a headlining appearance on Shiprocked 2025 in January.
