LITTLE MISS NASTY—purveyors of sex, art, and rebellion—have today (October 17) unveiled the video for “Bad Girls Romance” from their upcoming debut album WEAPON OF CHOICE out in January 2024 (exact date TBA). Watch the video HERE and pre-save the darkly alluring, electro-driven single (out this Friday, October 20) HERE. Read a lively Q&A with LMN’s iconoclastic leader, singer, and songwriter GINA KATON below.

Look for LITTLE MISS NASTY on the road this fall starting October 19 in San Diego and hitting 21 cities including Austin, New Orleans, San Francisco, and Las Vegas. The LITTLE MISS NASTY take-no-prisoners live experience is a professionally choreographed production featuring some of the entertainment industry’s best dancers, aerialists, vocalists, and contortionists. The electrifying spectacle is full of over-the-top visuals and blazingly cool music from Korn, Slipknot, NIN, Rob Zombie, Gina and The Eastern Block, RATM, IC3PEAK and others along with surprises that leave jaws on the floor and memories fired up. Audiences at sold-out residences in Las Vegas, LA and NYC have experienced a sensually charged evening that’s “off the leash” with these seductive global icons of dark performance art and rebellious burlesque. As LITTLE MISS NASTY says about audiences at their shows, “You have permission to be your Nasty, authentic self!”

Excitingly, LITTLE MISS NASTY has announced a NYC residency show—debuting January 26, 2024, at the Paradise Club in the Edition Hotel in Times Square—that will run every Friday/Saturday night. Stay tuned for when tickets will go on sale. “Even though we’ve already made a splash in New York earlier this year with a killer residency in Brooklyn at House of Yes,” says Katon, “we are now beyond excited to move the show into New York Fuckin’ City proper! There’s something about the energy being right in the thick of it in Manhattan that is just so epic! Plus we will be able to reach a much bigger and broader audience in Times Square and that will give us the ability to spread the message of LMN much more rapidly than when we were out in Bushwick. And ‘Little Miss Nasty on Broadway’ or maybe ‘Broadway Gets Nasty’ both have nice rings to them!”

Q&A with Gina Katon of LITTLE MISS NASTY

Why did you name the tour after the song “Bad Girls Romance” after the song from your upcoming debut album. What is the song about?

GINA: “Bad Girls Romance” is kind of like the dream state and head space of female desire, sex, and fantasy. It’s a song that women can listen to that embodies their deepest desires—real life or fantasy. It gives women the license to be sexual and proud of their sexuality. Overall, the LMN brand is a bold celebration of women’s sexuality. We are unwaveringly unapologetic about that. We think the name “Bad Girls Romance” is the perfect name for this tour since we are bringing five sexually empowered, talented women across the country and of course it’s also the name of our debut single from the new album.

A residency in NYC in Times Square is a big deal. How amped are you for this?

GINA: THIS IS HUGE! Even though we’ve already made a splash in New York earlier this year with a killer residency in Brooklyn at House of Yes, we are now beyond excited to move the show into New York Fuckin’ City proper! There’s something about the energy being right in the thick of it in Manhattan that is just so epic! Plus we will be able to reach a much bigger and broader audience in Times Square and that will give us the ability to spread the message of LMN much more rapidly than when we were out in Bushwick. Plus “Little Miss Nasty on Broadway” or maybe “Broadway Gets Nasty” both have nice rings to them!

LMN is about sex, art, and rebellion. It’s a bold female empowerment celebration that’s visceral and cerebral. It stands apart from simply being a marriage of burlesque and rock. Can you talk about how LMN has evolved into what it is today?

GINA: Even though we are constantly evolving, SEX, ART, and REBELLION have always been the backbone and driving forces for LMN. It’s true that we an energetic show and experience. We started as just a live show but over time LMN has really turned into a cultural lifestyle brand. A retail clothing line, a music recording artist, a “Las Vegas” production show. Little Miss Nasty is a brand, a lifestyle, a movement. We even have a cartoon! A TV series next?

LMN embraces sexuality and fearlessness, while at the same time it raises consciousness about female empowerment, which is key, especially since the Supreme Court rolled back women’s rights that they were granted 50 years ago.

GINA: I have a pit in my stomach and an aching heart, but my fists are clenched. We will never stop expressing ourselves freely and we hope that by doing so we empower and encourage other women to do the same even if that means standing up to the “powers that be” at the local level or even the fucking Supreme Court. It’s complete BS. I think that the following lyrics from the second single on our upcoming album sum up our thoughts on this pretty well: “It’s a new fucking day, and we don’t fuck with you.” Or another pretty good one is: “My body is powerful, it’s my weapon on choice.”

You vocally dig your heels into your songs. Which artists have inspired you as a vocalist?

GINA: Kurt Cobain, Kathleen Hanna from Bikini Kill, Pink is a bad ass, David Bowie, Marilyn Manson, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Salt-N-Pepa, Notorious B.I,G., and of course Wendy O. Williams.

If you overheard people talking about the new album, what would you like to hear them say?

GINA: ‘Wow! I did not expect that at all! So unique. Every song has its own vibe. I cried listening to “Buried In Sin” It’s so powerful! I can’t wait to dance to these songs!’

How do you describe the chemistry of the LMN performers?

GINA: Just incredible! The rawness of our live stage show forces us to push through any sort of boundaries that we may have. We’re ALL IN. There’s no holding back. We are not faking anything. What you see is true passion and real heartfelt performances.  To “go there” you have to be 100% comfortable with yourself and your fellow LMN babes.

Can you talk about one area of the show that you feel especially stitches together the many themes of LMN?

GINA: Our grand finale in the current show is a raucous, wild, rebellious, “no fucks given whatsoever” performance to “Killing In The Name Of” by Rage Against The Machine.

If you could send a text message to the Supreme Court, what would it say?

GINA: “It’s a new fucking day and we don’t fuck with you. My body is powerful, it’s my weapon on choice. Choke on my dick.”

Ahead of the tour, YES was captured in the photos below at their rehearsals in Lititz, Pennsylvania and shared these quotes.

“We’ve put together a great setlist covering the length and breadth of Yes’ career.” Steve Howe

“Our ‘Classic Tales of Yes’ tour is one of our most diverse and adventurous tours to date. Spanning the entire fifty-five years of the band (yes 55!), we are introducing tracks from our latest album Mirror To The Sky. I’m sure the fans that are already familiar with the album will greatly appreciate us performing songs from it live. Of course, alongside many of the other Yes classics, we are also adding in a few surprises for good measure. – Geoff Downes

“We so look forward to bringing to the stage many highlights and fan favorites from across the diverse Yes cannon, plus a few selections from our warmly received new studio album, Mirror to the Sky. Come join us beneath the stars!” — Jon Davison

“There is so much excitement surrounding this tour. It’s quite expansive—there’s something in it for every YES fan including brand new music from our new record. We’re very much looking forward to performing it!” — Jay Schellen

Before the tour kicked off, YES performed an intimate fan club show in Lititz, Pennsylvania, for which Ultimate Classic Rock was on hand and observed in part: “After opening their set with the title track from 1977’s Going for the One, Yes unearthed ‘It Will Be a Good Day (The River), off 1999’s The Ladder, for the first time since 2000. They also performed 1977’s ‘Turn of the Century’ for the first time since 2014, and several other tracks—including ‘Machine Messiah,’ ‘Time and a Word’ and ‘South Side of the Sky’”— for the first time since 2018. Los Angeles-based alt-pop duo Good RznJosie Molasky (vocalist/songwriter) and Tommy Ghirardini (guitarist/producer)—have today (September 22) released the powerful “Far From Me,” the second single from their debut EP FALLING IN SLOW MOTION out October 20. Listen to the song HERE and pre-save the EP HERE.

On “Far From Me,” Good Rzn captivate listeners with their alternative and psychedelic pop, seen through a lens of rock and electronic music. The song weaves a spell with Molasky’s edgy, distorted vocals and Ghirardini’s foreboding guitar riffs, combined with dreamy synthesizer underpinnings and hard-hitting drums.

“The initial concept for the song was based on expressing a feeling of solitude,” reflect Good Rzn about “Far From Me,” which follows the release of the EP’s lead single, Running Out Of Time.” We wanted the music to match that isolated energy which is where the wailing guitar came through to mimic a cry out of loneliness.” Read a Q&A below with the band about the single and EP.

Since first releasing music in the fall of 2021, Good Rzn have created a cutting-edge style. The pair’s current catalogue has allowed them to showcase their talents performing at multiple shows including Breaking Sound, Writer’s Block, and WFNM in Los Angeles and PB Avenue in San Diego. Coming off a recent show at the Lost Lake Lounge in Denver, Good Rzn are set to perform at Fergusons Downtown in Las Vegas on Saturday, October 7.

On the Good Rzn-produced FALLING IN SLOW MOTION, they paint the positives and negatives of life as an epic roller coaster ride. The five-track EP gives insight into the feelings the two artists have experienced in their past few years living in Los Angeles. Each song dives into different components of the factors that have influenced the pair since moving to Southern California from Boulder, CO.

“We wanted this collection of music to represent a specific time period of our artistic journey,” says Good Rzn.We’ve had a lot of amazing moments, but there were also struggles along the way. The creation of these pieces helped us find peace in expressing ourselves and hope it might do the same for our listeners.”

Q&A with Good Rzn

The upcoming EP paints the positives and negatives of your recent experiences. Would “Far From Me” lyrically represent the negative side as it speaks to on being away from someone or something that you love?

GOOD RZN: “Far From Me” was inspired by being away from a loved one, but there’s a duality in the theme where you can also experience growth by going out on your own. The energy of the song is dynamic throughout, representing the ebb and flow of relationships.

What led to writing the darker musical dynamic of “Far From Me” which has that dark, descending riff?

GOOD RZN: The initial concept for the song was based on expressing a feeling of solitude. We wanted the music to match that isolated energy which is where the wailing guitar came through to mimic a cry out of loneliness.”

How was the experience of recording your first EP? Did the EP turn out as expected or were there surprises along the way?

GOOD RZN: The process of finishing our first EP took longer than anticipated. We are very detail-oriented and wanted to make sure that the project met our expectations which in the end we accomplished. Creating something that we are truly proud of was worth all the time and energy we put into it.

As songwriters, are there other influences outside music that impact your aesthetic?

GOOD RZN: We are influenced by our surroundings and love to be in nature. This comes across in our visuals and is combined with post-production editing to create a feeling of surrealism. We want our visual identity to have a cinematic element. This juxtaposition of organic and digital components is a major theme in our music as well, where we focus on mixing live instruments with electronic sounds.

What inspired the name “Good Rzn”? It has a mysterious aura about it.

GOOD RZN: Good Rzn came to us one day after searching for a name for months…it just felt right. It was a long process of searching for the right name and we were both able to relate with Good Rzn. The word “good” brings a positive energy and reminds us to see the good in things. Everything is good

KillerStar is a new band led by Rob Fleming (vocals, guitar, synths) and James Sedge (drums).  With songs written by Rob and James, the self-titled album features an array of David Bowie’s most trusted collaborators as guests throughout the album: Mike Garson on piano, Earl Slick and Mark Plati on guitar, Gail Ann Dorsey and Tim Lefebvre on bass, Emm Gryner on backing vocals, and Donny McCaslin on saxophone. Collectively they have crafted a sound which fuses the scale of classic rock with sophisticated harmonies and elements of art rock. Today KillerStar share their debut single “Should’ve Known Better” ahead of their debut album, which will follow on March 1, 2024. Listen HERE. Watch the official video directed by JJ Eringa HERE.

KillerStar make a big first impression with “Should’ve Known Better.” It’s an epic song which is rooted in Rob and James’s love of timeless music from the early 1970s to primeval rock ‘n’ roll and sleek hard rock, but its synth textures and driving guitar driven intensity provides a contemporary edge too. Rob’s voice—a vocal delivery filled with drama and conviction—adds another distinctive element, especially as it’s complemented by sophisticated, hook-laden harmonies from Emm Gryner. Mike Garson contributes beautiful avant garde piano, and Gail Ann Dorsey provides driving, melodic bass lines that lock in with the powerful drums from James Sedge.

Rob says, “‘Should’ve Known Better’ contains all the flavours of what we’re trying to do. It has a rock vibe, but with hooks, ambient melodies and layered backing vocals throughout.”

“Should’ve Known Better” was written by Rob, who produced the track with James, before it was mixed by Dave Eringa (Manic Street Preachers, Idlewild) and mastered by Joe La Porta at Sterling Sound.

Collectively, KillerStar’s musicians have contributed to almost every era of Bowie’s vast discography, from the landmark Aladdin Sane to the final goodbye of Blackstar. Although, while the KillerStar name references one of Bowie’s relatively deeper cuts, “Should’ve Known Better” really doesn’t feel like an homage to The Thin White Duke. And that’s simply because it was never intended to be one. Rob and James had recorded the first KillerStar demos independently, without any advance planning on who else would be involved.

Earl Slick says, “Since Bowie died, we’ve all gone off in different directions, but with this album we worked on new material and that was great.”

As you’ll eventually hear on KillerStar’s eponymously named album, there are fleeting touches that recall classic Bowie moments, but really this is something altogether new and exciting. Bowie chose these musicians for their unique style and ability, and that is what they have brought to the record: reunited friends and some new connections, all playing to complement the songwriting rather than to retread the iconic music they created alongside their visionary former leader.

As Emm Gryner considers, “The Bowie alumni have a very special bond and we always will. David united us in a truly special way, where we spent a lot of time together, and to be able to hear each other again in this way was unique.”

KillerStar play a UK Album Launch gig at The 100 Club, London on March 16, 2024.

BRIAN SETZER injects the roots of rock with a contemporary freshness that unites fans of rock, Americana, rockabilly, and punk. He is also the master of songs that celebrate uncomplicated, joyous good times. Today (September 15), the iconic guitarist, songwriter, vocalist, and three-time Grammy Award-winner releases his new solo album THE DEVIL ALWAYS COLLECTS digitally, on CD and vinyl on Surfdog Records. It features “Rock Boys Rock,” the album’s high-energy opener and fourth single that’s also out today. Penned by SETZER and frequent collaborator Mike Himelstein, the song is filled with BRIAN’s fluid and sizzling guitar lines set against a galloping rhythm, with his distinctive vocals. Watch the video HERE and listen to the song and order the album HERE.

“Rock Boys Rock” follows “The Devil Always Collects,” “Black Leather Jacket,” and the album’s first single/video “Girl On The Billboard” which Guitar World praised as “pure roadside bar sleaze in the best way—with strutting Chuck Berry-by-way-of-the-gutter riffs, and even a Route 66 namecheck. You’ll want to put the pedal to the metal with this coming through your speakers (7/28/23).”

SETZER’s guitar work is virtuosic on the new album’s 11 tracks, and his vocals deliver the clever storylines of catchy songs like “The Devil Always Collects,” “Girl On The Billboard,” and “Rock Boys Rock.” Add in non-stop freight train rhythms, and you have an album—produced by BRIAN SETZER and Julian Raymond and mixed by Chris Lord-Alge—that stands with SETZER’s best.

BRIAN will support the album, his first since 2021’s Gotta Have The Rumble, this fall on his U.S “ROCKABILLY RIOT” tour starting September 27 (the dates are below).

Marking his first live shows in over four years, the “ROCKABILLY RIOT” tour will kick off September 27 at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, NJ and includes stops in Nashville, TN (at the historic Ryman Auditorium), Foxwoods Casino, Cincinnati, Chicago (Waukegan) and others before wrapping in Minneapolis (his adopted hometown). For these dates, SETZER will be joined by, in his words, an “international rockabilly band, Chris D’Rozario from Melbourne, Australia and Juan Laurios from Mexico City, Mexico.” Although BRIAN has a 40-year career as a solo artist, leader of The Brian Setzer Orchestra and as a Stray Cat, he continues to play with a jaw-dropping level of vigor. Tickets are on sale at: www.briansetzer.com

His set lists will include “some of the favorite covers I’m doing now. I haven’t recorded it, but I really like playing my version of ‘Georgia On My Mind.’ And then with the band, I want to play a new song ‘Girl On The Billboard’ because it tells a fun story.”

Here’s the track listing for THE DEVIL ALWAYS COLLECTS:
1 Rock Boys Rock
2. The Devil Always Collects
3. Girl On The Billboard
4. The Living Dead
5. What’ll It Be Baby Doll?
6. Black Leather Jacket
7. She’s Got A Lotta…Soul!
8. Play That Fast Thing (One More Time)

He’s sold millions of albums and is a “Musician’s Musician” credited with continually taking chances with innovative and daring musical styles. Setzer is widely credited for taking two forgotten genres, rockabilly and swing, adding his own blend of gunpowder and rockin’ style, and completely reinventing and single-handedly resurrecting them in the process. Along the way, he has scored chart-topping hits, sold 13 million records and received the Orville H. Gibson Lifetime Achievement Award throughout his decorated career as founder/leader of the Stray Cats, his 19-piece Brian Setzer Orchestra, and as a solo artist. He is consistently cited as one of the world’s greatest living guitarists, and has a best-selling, extensive line of elite Gretsch signature model guitars bearing his name. SETZER is also, fittingly, in the Rockabilly Hall of Fame. On the live front, Setzer has headlined venues and festivals worldwide, including a 1983 headlining slot on the iconic US Festival in California, The Playboy Jazz Festival, a three-night, sold-out headlining run at the Hollywood Bowl with the 98-piece Philharmonic Orchestra, Woodstock ’99, and performing in front of more than 150,000 people as headliner of the Montreal Jazz Festival.  His reach also includes films and TV, where his roles include portraying rockabilly pioneer Eddie Cochran in the 1987 film, La Bamba,  Fox’s “Beverly Hills 90210,” among many others, and he is one of the few musicians to be animated in an episode of “The Simpsons” in 2002. That same year, SETZER was personally requested to induct Chet Atkins into the 17th Annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. SETZER had the honor of being invited in 2006 to perform at the White House for the President of the United States. Also in 2006, he was inducted into the Long Island Music Hall of Fame with the Stray Cats. In 2014, SETZER received the distinct honor of being asked by the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. to donate a replica of his original 1959 Gretsch 6120 “Stray Cat” guitar, joining an elite collection of iconic treasures at the museum.

The Rod Wave – Nostalgia Tour celebrates the St. Petersburg native’s fourth studio album, Nostalgia, which will be released Friday, September 15. Nostalgia is the follow up to Rod’s chart-topping, platinum certified Beautiful Mind album, which was also the fourth consecutive platinum-certified project of his career. The three singles that have been released from this year’s album, including lead single “Fight The Feeling,” have already amassed close to 350M streams to-date.

About Rod Wave

Blessed with a special singing voice, and an uncanny gift for songwriting, Florida’s Rod Wave is taking his own path to the top of the game. Coming through with a soulful set of Southern sing-raps, the St. Petersburg native has built a groundswell of regional support and blossomed into a national streaming phenomenon. After releasing 3 projects in a 12 month span – Hunger Games 3, PTSD, and the platinum-certified Ghetto Gospel – Rod first erupted onto the scene with the viral 3x-platinum “Heart On Ice.” His debut album, Pray 4 Love, was certified platinum within a year of release, propelled by the TikTok crossover moment “Rags2Riches.” He surpassed Pray 4 Love one year later with SoulFly, which became Rod’s first-ever #1 album on the Billboard charts. After embarking on his 35-date nationwide SoulFly tour in the fall, Rod released two massive singles, the platinum-certified “By Your Side” and the Hank Williams-sampling “Cold December.” The two singles set the stage for his forthcoming third studio album, Beautiful Mind, which also debuted #1 on the Billboard charts. Rod is set to release his forthcoming 4th studio album, Nostalgia, this Fall. His most self-reflective work to date, Nostalgia cements Rod’s place as one of the pioneers of “pain music,” a fitting title to bestow on someone whose catalog has amassed over 15 billion streams to date.
