6x Platinum and 8x Gold-certified, record-breaking Finnish rock outfit THE RASMUS hold nothing back on their new track, the toxic love-themed “Break These Chains” ft. Niko Vilhelm of Blind Channel. It’s out today (May 16) via Better Noise Music and Playground Music. Driven by the band’s signature blend of dark atmospheres and anthemic melodies, the emotionally gripping song is taken from the album WEIRDO. It arrives September 12, marking their 11^th studio album and first for Better Noise Music. Pre-orders and limited edition merchandise bundles are available now HERE.

“‘Break These Chains’ is about a toxic relationship,” says singer Lauri Ylönen, who digs his teeth into such lethal lyrics as “You made me believe/That true passion makes you bleed/So I stayed too long/To play your twisted games.” Lauri wrote the song with revered hit songwriters/producers Marti Frederiksen and Desmond Child. “It’s about letting go of something that you know is bad for you, but you’re obsessed with.”

For “Break These Chains,” THE RASMUS called on Niko Vilhelm (of the Finnish Nu Metal band Blind Channel) to make a special guest vocal appearance. “The Rasmus are heroes of mine, so obviously I was excited when Lauri called me and asked me to be a part of this song. Even more so when I heard the track. The heavier sound suits them soooo well. I’m so hyped about where they’re headed and what’s to come.”

Most of the songs on WEIRDO were written by Lauri Ylönen, Desmond Child (who contributed to the band’s BLACK ROSES and RISE albums and has worked with Bon Jovi, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, among countless others) and Marti Fredriksen (Aerosmith, Ozzy Osbourne, Black Veil Brides) in Folegandros, Greece. That’s where Lauri and Desmond met up to work on material that Lauri brought. THE RASMUS then did full band demos of all the tracks in Finland in July 2023, with production led by Frederiksen and Child.

Later, they finalized the songs and recorded the album with the whole band in Marti Fredriksen’s Sienna Studios in Nashville. Some of the tracks were mixed by Fredriksen in Nashville, assisted by Evan Fredriksen, while other mixes were done by Chris Baseford (Nickelback, Shinedown, Daughtry) in Vancouver, Canada and by Claudius Mittendorfer (Panic! At The Disco, We Are Scientists) in London, and Joseph McQueen (Bad Wolves, As I Lay Dying, From Ashes To New) in Los Angeles. Additional production by McQueen injects a fresh intensity into tracks like “Creatures of Chaos” and “Break These Chains,” while Ylönen himself takes the helm on “Rest in Pieces” alongside Alex Mattson.

The album’s second single “Creatures of Chaos” arrived March 28, with the video racking up over 521k views. It followed the album’s first single “Rest In Pieces,” released October 25, 2024, paired with a lyric video which now has amassed over 556k views.

“I find it comforting that our 11th album, WEIRDO, has pretty much the same message as on our first album released in 1996,” says Lauri. “It is to defend and praise the ones who are different from the masses and proudly being themselves as they are. It has been our philosophy from the very beginning.”

Ylönen explains the power behind being a “weirdo.” “In this society I’ve always felt that I’ve had to prove myself for being the way I am or doing the things I do. I’ve always felt like an outsider not fitting the norm. I’ve been called a weirdo, misfit and a freak. That used to make me angry—but not anymore. It’s become my source of strength and confidence. I’ve realized the power of it. All the people I find exciting and inspiring are somehow strange. We, the Weirdos, unite and feed off people’s judging attitudes. The fact is they’re just afraid of us. Afraid of our capability to create new and change the future. Are you a Weirdo? Join us…”

THE RASMUS will bring their unforgettable stage show to audiences worldwide in 2025 on the “Weirdo Tour.” They recently concluded a month-long U.S. trek with The Funeral Portrait, and are now in the midst of their own North American headlining tour, which kicked off May 3 in Atlanta, GA. Tickets are on sale now for its European leg (9/12 – 12/6); see the full dates listed below.

“It’s been a while since we went on tour, so we’re really excited to be heading out all over the world in 2025,” exclaims Lauri Ylönen. “It’s shaping up to be a massive tour and there’s more dates to come. We can’t wait to hang out with our fans. It’s going to be fun to see them again, we’re like family.”

Meanwhile, The Rasmus will play a charity concert in Ukraine on July 19 as the headliner of the Atlas Festival, as the only foreign artist at the event. The band wants to do their part to help Ukraine. Over 60,000 people are expected to be in attendance, and there will be a comprehensive security system and evacuation plan for the audience and performers in just a few minutes if necessary. Last year, the festival raised over two million euros for charity. The artists can choose to direct their charitable funds to any Ukraine-related cause, such as supporting children’s hospitals, purchasing ambulances, or helping combat medical personnel.

“It’s scary to play in the middle of war, but we want to show our support for the Ukrainian people,” says Lauri Ylönen. We have a massive fan base in Ukraine and we’ve also previously done a joint song with the Ukrainian Eurovision winner Kalush Orchestra.”

The world can be cruel, but electronic metal group SOLENCE offers a simple cure. The charming quartet of high-energy Swedes is defined as much by their endless optimism as their boundless talent. Their upcoming fifth album, ANGELS CALLING, due out October 3 via Better Noise Music, combines big pop hooks and electro savvy with the heavy yet melodic intensity of trailblazing Swedish metal into a distinctive international sound equal parts hypnotic and uplifting.

SOLENCE will hit the road later this year for a European tour opening for Nothing More, which launches November 7 in Finland, along with Catch Your Breath and Ankor. General tickets will be available on Friday, May 16 at 10am CET on their official website.

“‘Where Were You..? is a fast and fun song about a friend letting you down when you needed them the most,” says guitarist David Strääf. “The song really keeps the tempo up with a big chorus, modern production and a very heavy, bouncy and genre bending breakdown!”

SOLENCE returns with fresh visuals, a new look, and a retrofitted sound that combines the best of their past with a look into the future for both the group and the genre. “For some reason, I’ve always felt like my time on earth is limited, as if I might die young,” frontman Markus Videsäter explains. “Our music is about making the most of life, relationships, and passion before heaven calls us home.”

Based out of Los Angeles and originally hailing from Sweden, SOLENCE’s lineup consists of frontman Markus Videsäter alongside guitarist David Strääf, keyboardist Johan Swärd, and drummer David “Viking” Vikingsson. They focus all its energy on uplifting anyone in a dark state of mind to a brighter place. “SOLENCE is all about having a good time,” Videsäter declares. “Our message to our existing fans and potential new ones is that we want to bring the fun back into rock n’ roll.”

“Storytelling is a lot of fun,” he continues. “I write about motivation and how to get myself up in the morning. So, yes, there’s still a lot of that. We bundle it up in a lot more energy and craziness. ANGELS CALLING is so cool. I love every single song. I’m so excited about how massive it feels.”

ANGELS CALLING is the follow-up to their EP BLUE MONDAY (Better Noise Music), released this past January with three new songs: “F**k The Bad Vibes,” “A Banger A Day Keeps The Doctor Away,” and “Who You Gonna Call? (Solence),” which Houston Chronicle highlighted in their “Top 50 Best Underground Music Videos of 2024” list. It also includes two remixed versions of their hit track, “Good F**king Music” by Swedish-based producer MVRE and L.A.-based producer kodeblooded (Asking Alexandria, Charlotte Sands). Boundary-pushing 3x-Grammy-nominated outfit NOTHING MORE recently achieved a new career milestone when “HOUSE ON SAND” (feat. Eric Vanlerberghe from I Prevail) became the third single from their critically acclaimed CARNAL album via Better Noise Music to hit the #1 spot on the Billboard “Mainstream Rock Airplay” and Mediabase “Active Rock” charts following “ANGEL SONG (feat. David Draiman)” and “IF IT DOESN’T HURT.”

This touring news from one of rock’s most electrifying bands comes as the deluxe edition of CARNAL (DELUXE) will physically be available on CD and vinyl this Friday, May 16 HERE. It was originally released across all digital outlets on March 28 via Better Noise Music.

CARNAL (DELUXE) adds on five bonus tracks, including a new version of the bracing “FREEFALL,” featuring 6x Platinum-certified rock artist Chris Daughtry, available now on all digital outlets, while the moving video can be seen on Better Noise Music’s official YouTube page. In connection with the song and video release, the band is featuring pet-related merchandise on its official website, with a portion of proceeds supporting organizations like K9s For Warriors. Additionally, a donation link is included in the video, allowing for donations to be made directly to the organization’s website.

Four other bonus tracks on CARNAL (DELUXE) include a live version of the “ANGEL SONG” recorded from the band’s set at Aftershock Festival 2024 where NOTHING MORE was joined onstage by guest vocalist David Draiman of Disturbed; two remixed songs from Matt Good (Hollywood Undead, Asking Alexandria) and Justin “JD” Deblieck (Ice Nine Kills, Motionless In White); plus a new song that was released February 7, “WE’RE ALL GONNA DIE.” Fans can view the lyric video for “WE’RE ALL GONNA DIE” HERE and stream/download the song HERE.

Created by Steve Selak and booked by Randy Chaplin, the concept tour of Yacht Rock artists paired with a symphony is something that has never been done. “Yacht Rock has continued to explode in popularity and I was looking for ways to get into larger and more prestigious venues,” Selak explains. “It’s difficult to find a show that can sell tickets and something audiences haven’t seen before. Everyone I spoke to felt the next logical step was to add an orchestra. Fortunately, our gamble has paid off.”

Chaplin adds, “As the leading boutique agency in booking Adult Contemporary artists with Symphony Orchestras for their Pops series, I always look for new and exciting artist ideas to present to the artistic administrators at all the symphony orchestras. When Steve [Selak] approached me with the Yacht Rock Symphony show, I said yes right away.”

The set lists will include top Yacht Rock hits that continue to gain popularity, as they find new fans among younger generations, while still resonating with their core fans. Ambrosia, John Ford Coley, Peter Beckett (The Voice of Player), and Elliot Lurie (of Looking Glass) will take the stage to perform their chart-topping Billboard hits from the 1970s and 1980s, including favorites like “You’re The Only Woman,” “How Much I Feel,” “I’d Really Love To See You Tonight,” and “Baby Come Back.” With five Top 40 Billboard hits and five Grammy nominations, Ambrosia delivers their signature blend of progressive rock and soulful melodies. PETER BECKETT (the voice of PLAYER): “I credit the longevity of these songs to the fact that they’re actually good. The music quality from the late 60’s to the early 80’s has stood the test of time. To be able to recreate that sound on this tour is really exciting.”

ELLIOT LURIE: “The term ‘yacht rock’ began as a bit of a joke. However, people got into the music as a genre, I think what stood out was the quality of the musicianship, songwriting, and recording. The fact that the songs continue to resonate with modern audiences is gratifying.”

JOE PUERTA (AMBROSIA): “We have carefully chosen the songs we felt had the biggest impact on our audience. TO PLAY CHARITY GIG IN UKRAINE AT ATLAS FESTIVAL

One of Finland’s most internationally known bands, The Rasmus, will play a charity gig in Ukraine this summer on July 19 as the headliner of the Atlas Festival, as the only foreign artist at the event.

The band wants to do their part to help Ukraine.

“It’s scary to play in the middle of war, but we want to show our support for the Ukrainian people. We have a massive fan base in Ukraine and we’ve also previously done a joint song with the Ukrainian Eurovision winner Kalush Orchestra” – frontman Lauri Ylönen.

Over 60,000 people are expected to arrive at the festival. The festival has a comprehensive security system and the event is prepared to evacuate the audience and performers in just a few minutes if necessary.

Last year, the festival raised over two million euros for charity. The artists can choose to direct their charitable funds to any Ukraine-related cause, such as supporting children’s hospitals, purchasing ambulances, or helping combat medical personnel.

The Rasmus recently released the electrifying new single “Creatures of Chaos” via Better Noise Music and Playground Music. With their signature blend of dark atmospheres and anthemic melodies, the band once again proves why they remain a force to be reckoned with in the rock world. In their native Finland, where they are the reigning #1 rock band, The Rasmus stands at #1 on Spotify, YouTube, Instagram and Deezer as far as followers, views, likes and streams.

The first edition of Atlas festival dates back to 2015 and ran successfully until 2019. In 2024 the organizers bravely brought it back, creating the biggest music event to take place in Ukraine since the invasion started, with 63,000 people in 3 days. The festival had a robust safety framework to ensure the artists’ and audience’s safety. The new venue – Blockbuster Mall – has the biggest underground parking in all of Ukraine (50000 m²), which can quickly become a shelter. In fact, in case of alarm, the entire festival can be evacuated to the shelter in a matter of minutes. The organizers worked and continue to work with the State Emergency Services, regional military administration and city administration to ensure the mitigation of all risks and the preparation for any threats without any danger to the people.

The festival entirely revolves around a big charity goal – to raise 100mln UAH (2.3 M EUR) to help the country. In 2024 Atlas Festival reached the goal with the help of its audience, artists, influencers and everyone who was involved. The whole festival was built around raising these funds with the help of our artist, sponsors, audience and all the country’s volunteers, influencers and opinion leaders.

AEROSMITH guitarist and songwriter JOE PERRY is set to return to the road for a series of August performances with THE JOE PERRY PROJECT. The eight-date run kicks off August 13 in Tampa, FL and wraps August 23 in Port Chester, New York, with an August 19 performance in PERRY’s Boston hometown (see the itinerary below). Most recently, PERRY released SWEETZERLAND MANIFESTO in 2018 and SWEETZERLAND MANIFESTO MKII in 2023 (which included six tracks with alternate vocal appearances and mixes from the 2018 album). Since 2012, PERRY has been a member of the Hollywood Vampires–an American rock supergroup—alongside Alice Cooper and Johnny Depp. The group released three albums: Hollywood Vampires (2015) and Rise (2019), along with a live album Live in Rio (2023). In addition, in 2014 PERRY released ROCKS: My Life In and Out of Aerosmith (Simon & Schuster). Written with David Ritz, the book spent its initial two weeks on the prestigious NEW YORK TIMES bestseller list. To support the book, JOE embarked on a cross-country book tour with multiple nights in New York, his Boston hometown (three in-stores), Chicago, San Francisco, Phoenix, Los Angeles and a stop at The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame in Cleveland. In addition, he made top-tier broadcast appearances on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Conan, CBS This Morning, Fox & Friends, Tavis Smiley, and Larry King alongside popular national radio including Howard Stern and Imus In The Morning. PERRY also personally narrated the audio version of the book.
