STEVE BLACKNELL
“TALES FROM THE BEDROOM WALL–
THE LIFE & TIMES OF A SERIAL THRILL SEEKER”
SET FOR JULY 9 RELEASE
MTV “LONDON CALLING” VJ RECOUNTS HIS COLORFUL LIFE IN BOOK THAT FEATURES FOREWORD BY
LONGTIME FRIEND BILL WYMAN

“I met this young man a good forty years ago and we have remained close friends to the present day. From the start we were brothers-in-arms, sharing a love for the British humour of Tommy Cooper. We continue to meet as friends, and our e-mails always leave something to be desired, with Steve writing to me as Algernon or Clive and signing off as Fred. My replies would be addressed to Bert, and I would sign off as Tarquin, or the likes.”
BILL WYMAN (The Rolling Stones)

Enigmatic TV host, radio presenter, record company executive, and friend to the rich and famous—there is nothing that STEVE BLACKNELL hasn’t done. Except write his memoir, which he has finally done in TALES FROM THE BEDROOM WALL – THE LIFE & TIMES OF A SERIAL THRILL SEEKER (Old Treacle Press). Due out July 9 through Amazon – the book takes readers on a journey throughout his colorful life—the ups the downs, near death experiences, losing millions, taking Concorde to Live Aid with Phil Collins and dating Kate Bush, to his battle with bulimia and other addictions. This is the book that has it all and more.

In America, STEVE BLACKNELL is mainly known for hosting the award-winning MTV USA music fashion show “London Calling” which pulled 23 million viewers. He interviewed over 100 pop stars that included a snarly Alice Cooper, heartthrob David Cassidy in a hotel Jacuzzi, a 40-minute chat with Motorhead’s Lemmy Kilmister who consumed an entire bottle of Jack Daniels and a table tennis game with Bill Wyman who discussed his career in the Rolling Stones.

Growing up, STEVE adorned his bedroom wall with pictures of his musical heroes, blissfully unaware he would meet so many of them in future days. His bizarre adventures both in the UK and Hollywood, his ridiculous forays into drugs and food addictions and an inability to take other people’s advice saw him go from millionaire to near poverty. The book is about failure, ignorance, arrogance, and an innate desire to push boundaries until they explode.

“There’s an old joke that goes ‘Everybody has a book in them’ which explains the lump in my throat. Indeed, I do believe there are so many of us who aren’t necessarily household names that have lived life to ‘the max!” STEVE says. “With me it hasn’t been deliberate—I’ve just tried to pack in as many adventures as possible in my allotted time. At 72 I still have a few tricks up my sleeve—for as the Buddhists say ‘You’re only here three billion times so you’d better enjoy yourself.’”

Steve Blacknell was born in Peckham, UK and moved to Dartford, Kent in his early years eventually attending one of his heroes Mick Jagger’s old school, Dartford Grammar—where he even got his second-hand geography book! An obsessive pop fan since the early 60’s, he decided early on that he wanted to be a Radio DJ and so wrote to many key industry figures with only one reply—from John Peel who advised him to try hospital radio. He became the breakfast DJ at St Thomas’s Hospital in London for a year, supported by a certain ‘Whispering’ Bob Harris.

His first love was Kate Bush, who he met in Dartford on the arm of another man however they got together soon after. The budding songwriter and wannabee DJ would plot world domination; her the pop star and Steve introducing her on ‘Top of the Pops’! He, however, had no idea that he was dealing with a real musical genius.

The early 70s saw a move to Worcestershire where he worked at a Special Needs Home, and he started taking drugs. He eventually got his big break into music at Decca Records in the PR department and later at ABC working with artists from Steely Dan to Don Williams, during which time he began a dangerous dance with Anorexic Bulimia. He also met the future love of his life, Maggie. He moved to Chrysalis Records in the late 70s working with acts like Leo Sayer, Jethro Tull and Split Enz, finally joining Jive Records where he signed A Flock Of Seagulls after seeing them perform “I Ran.”

By the 1980s he was hanging out with the right people and was spotted by the BBC who asked him to host BBC 2’s “hip” new pop fashion show “Riverside” where he introduced a brand-new band—New Order! After calling the Deputy Editor of BBC Breakfast Time most days for about six weeks, he was drafted in to do the pop news when the late Mike Smith became ill. He stayed for three years and learned his trade from Frank Bough. By this point, he was also a regular host on Radio One’s “In Concert,” also the simulcast with BBC2 – “Sight and Sound in Concert.”

He was the BBC presenter covering Live Aid, the most important music event in the thirty-year history of rock & roll, flying in Concorde with Phil Collins–the only performer onstage at both Wembley and later the same day, Philadelphia.

After a 5-year stint as Peter Stringfellow’s PR and as Europe’s first “Video Jockey,’’ he hosted the award-winning MTV USA music fashion show “London Calling” which pulled 23 million viewers.

He became super rich and bought a mansion flat in the super trendy Holland Park Avenue–complete with chauffeur. He then had a dramatic sinus operation that left him stranded indoors for three months where he saw “God,” and on the flip of a coin while listening to Paul Young singing “Everything Must Change’’ he decided to try and crack the U.S.A and moved to Los Angeles.

While in the U.S., he met and married ex-groupie and 60’s legend Catherine James—the former wife of Moody Blues/Wings star Denny Laine. She was Diane Keaton’s movie double for many years and was also best mates with mega-stars Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson. He soon found out that Catherine had lived with Mick Jagger in London and dated the A-Z of rock heroes. She’d been at the piano with Clapton when he wrote “Layla,” and knew Hendrix, Morrison and others.

After several TV hosting jobs–including a stint as the Hollywood anchor of the UK-based TV channel BSKYB and as an actor making five movies, he avoided death when a speed boat exploded in Marina Del Rey and spent six months in a wheelchair addicted to the powerful opiate Vicodin. After only six years in the States, he left Hollywood and his wife for the UK once more–now penniless.

Once back in the UK he reunited with Maggie–the love of his life–and eventually moved to Hythe, Kent with her. They have had a 50-year romance that survived the gaps! After 18 years, he still runs London’s premiere “media networking” club The Waffle. He is also the most qualified TV teacher in the UK and is CEO of The Central London School of TV and Media Training.

THE RED JUMPSUIT APPARATUS Release Urgent Single And Video, “Slipping Through (No Kings)”

RELEASE URGENT SINGLE AND VIDEO,
“SLIPPING THROUGH (NO KINGS)”
LISTEN TO THE SONG HERE
WATCH THE VIDEO HERE

I said it before, I’ll say it again
If we don’t change something, then we wind up dead
Is this the end? Or is tomorrow
Slipping through our hands
Slipping Through (No Kings)

5X Platinum-certified alternative rock mainstays THE RED JUMPSUIT APPARATUS have today (June 27) released “Slipping Through (No Kings),” their latest single and video for Better Noise Music. The urgent and impassioned rallying cry—written by lead vocalist, guitarist and founding member Ronnie Winter with producer and songwriter Matt Squire—compellingly looks at the societal chaos gripping America right now.

Listen to the song HERE and watch the starkly animated video, set in the last days of an authoritarian society, HERE.

“It’s about what’s going on in our country. The destruction of it. Everything we ever stood for is ‘slipping through,’” says Ronnie Winter. “It all began with Matt Squire and I working together in Los Angeles. He played me the track, and it immediately hit me. I knew this was the moment to say something about what’s really going on and happening in our city. To put it simply,” adds Ronnie, who lives in Los Angeles, “my neighbors are disappearing. Families are being torn apart. And our community has reached a breaking point. These aren’t strangers, they’re our friends, our loved ones. They’re not immigrants to us, they’re neighbors. And like Jesus said, ‘Love thy neighbor.’ That’s what this song is about.”

In the “Slipping Through (No Kings)” video, directed by Steve Tramposch and Jamie Lewis, there is destruction everywhere in a world devoid of color. The main characters—“X boy” and “X girl”—watch as their friends and loved ones are snatched off the streets by masked men in menacing dark cars. The characters have X’s for eyes symbolizing their disillusionment, while others also have X’s for mouths, symbolizing that they’ve been quieted and have lost their voice. “X boy” and “X girl” are left to navigate the rubble and fend for themselves. An Alliance flag, the symbol of their rebellion (and the band’s fan community) is planted in the rubble at the end and the video turns from black and white to full color. The eyes of “X boy” and “X girl” return to full circles to emphasize their awakening and solidarity. These are the youth of the world planting their flag with open eyes after there’s nothing left.

“Slipping Through (No Kings)” marks the second new music offering from THE RED JUMPSUIT APPARATUS—lead vocalist, guitarist and founding member Ronnie Winter, his multi-instrumentalist brother Randy Winter, guitarist Josh Burke, bassist Joey Westwood, drummer John Espy, and touring keyboardist Nadeem Salam—since their EMERGENCY EP in 2020. They previously released “Home Improvement” (which has accrued over 363k YouTube views) at the time of last October’s announcement of their signing to premiere independent music label Better Noise Music.

Formed in 2004 in Jacksonville, FL, the band has accrued Gold and multi-Platinum singles—including their massive 5x Platinum hit single “Face Down” and “Your Guardian Angel”—and 2X Platinum-certified debut album, DON’T YOU FAKE IT, alongside numerous high-ranking radio chart positions and a robust digital history of over 1.5 billion career streams. Sometimes it’s hard to believe that THE RED JUMPSUIT APPARATUS began their expedition into the hearts and minds of a generation 20 years ago. Their blazing 2006 single “Face Down” delivered both anthemic choruses and a strident message about domestic abuse, achieving both sales accolades and adoration from crowds all over the planet.

“Slipping Through (No Kings)” will be included on a new album on Better Noise Music, which will be announced in the coming months.

Dead alive, yeah we are barely breathing
Waiting for the world to die
Zombified, we need to stop the bleeding
Living like we’re dead alive
“Dead_Alive”

Swedish electronic metal group SOLENCE is defined as much by their endless optimism as their boundless talent. For “Dead_Alive”—the blazing new single from their upcoming fifth album ANGELS CALLING, due out October 3 via Better Noise Music—they take an especially bracing lyrical turn. On the track, released today (June 27), they confront societal chaos and hold out hope by urgently singing lines like “Zombified, we need to stop the bleeding/Living like we’re dead alive.” The music is signature SOLENCE: they combine big pop hooks and electro savvy with the heavy yet melodic intensity of trailblazing Swedish metal into a distinctive international sound equal parts hypnotic and uplifting.

Listen to “Dead_Alive” HERE and watch the lyric video HERE. Pre-orders for ANGELS CALLING are available HERE.

As frontman Markus Videsäter says, “‘Dead_Alive’ is probably one of the heaviest songs on ANGELS CALLING. We really wanted to go full on with this one. The song itself is about a world on fire where instead of acting on it we all walk around like we’re ‘Dead Alive.’ Think this is one of the most powerful choruses we’ve written to date, really excited for people to hear this!”

“Dead_Alive” is the follow-up to the album’s first single, “Where Were You..?” which was released May 13 as an instant download with pre-orders of the album HERE. The visualizer for “Where Were You..?” can be seen on Better Noise Music’s official YouTube page HERE.

Based out of Los Angeles and originally hailing from Sweden, SOLENCE’s lineup consists of frontman Markus Videsäter alongside guitarist David Strääf, keyboardist Johan Swärd, and drummer David “Viking” Vikingsson. They focus all its energy on uplifting anyone in a dark state of mind to a brighter place. “SOLENCE is all about having a good time,” Videsäter says. “Our message to our existing fans and potential new ones is that we want to bring the fun back into rock n’ roll.”

ANGELS CALLING is the follow-up to their EP BLUE MONDAY (Better Noise Music), released this past January with three new songs: “F**k The Bad Vibes,” “A Banger A Day Keeps The Doctor Away,” and “Who You Gonna Call? (Solence),” which Houston Chronicle highlighted in their “Top 50 Best Underground Music Videos of 2024” list. It also includes two remixed versions of their hit track “Good F**king Music” by Swedish-based producer MVRE and L.A.-based producer kodeblooded (Asking Alexandria, Charlotte Sands). BLUE MONDAY can be downloaded and streamed HERE.

SOLENCE have built a dedicated global audience on past tours opening for bands including Five Finger Death Punch, Ice Nine Kills, Electric Callboy, We Came As Romans, and The HU, in addition to festival appearances across Europe (Rock For People Festival, Graspop Metal Meeting, Resurrection Fest, Tuska Festival, Nova Rock Festival) and the U.S. (Aftershock, Louder Than Life, Blue Ridge Rock Fest). A SOLENCE performance is a participatory sport, with audiences encouraged to sing and bounce along.

Lauded as one of Pandora’s “Rising Rock Artists To Watch In 2023,” SOLENCE have to date garnered over 365 million cumulative streams, over 888k monthly Spotify listeners, and over 96 million video views since their formation in 2012. The band started by releasing heavy renditions of well-known pop hits from the likes of Imagine Dragons, Fall Out Boy, Ed Sheeran, Britney Spears, and Queen before breaking out with their 2019 debut album BROTHERS. It was quickly followed by their sophomore album, DIRECTION, which saw them achieve their first Active Rock radio charting with “Animal In Me” which became SiriusXM Octane’s most-played track in 2020. Octane’s Sr. Director, Music Programming Vincent Usuriello described SOLENCE’s sound as “a dynamic fusion of rock, metal, and pop elements, with powerful vocals, electrifying guitar riffs, and infectious melodies, creating an immersive sonic experience.” In 2021, SOLENCE released their third album, DEAFENING, which showed their range of inspirations from music to anime, gaming, sci-fi, and even philosophy and soon followed with their fourth album HOPE IS A CULT in 2023. Amidst writing new material for SOLENCEVidesäter and Strääf have lent their songwriting skills to pop acts including Jason Derulo and Bebe Rexha.

In 2025, SOLENCE continues to spread its life-affirming message. “‘Until I hear the ‘Angels Calling’ reminds us that life is way too short to worry about doubt or making mistakes,” Markus Videsäter points out. “We never know when our time is up, so let’s make the most of it while we can!”

SOLENCE will hit the road later this year for a European tour opening for Nothing More, which launches November 7 in Finland, along with Catch Your Breath and Ankor. General tickets are available now on their official website.

Fresh off the release of their self-titled debut album, Lakeview has been busy crisscrossing the nation, opening for the likes of Breaking Benjamin, Staind, Chase Matthew, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Mitchell Tenpenny, and more. The breakout duo kicked off 2025 with their “Blue Collar Country” headline tour, will appear at country festivals all summer long with more headline shows expected in the fall.

She’s toured globally in over 10 countries opening for acts like Dierks Bentley, Dan + Shay, Jon Pardi, Carrie Underwood, Kenny Chesney, Kane Brown, The Chainsmokers, Lee Brice, and more. Julia brings her love for music and sports full circle by advocating for women’s athletics and empowerment and collaborating with the Boys and Girls Club and Mizuno athletic wear.

ABOUT PRESLEY TENNANT

Radiant and fearless, Presley Tennant is the result of unequivocal talent and California ease. Dubbed a “vocal powerhouse” by Taste of Country, People Magazine states Presley is “quickly proving that she is a wild card in the country music industry.”

With a passion for music rooted in the classics, the Horsetown, USA (aka Norco, CA) native immersed herself in Country Music following her national appearance on The Voice at just 16 years old. Determined to make her own way in the industry, Tennant teamed up with some of the industry’s top creatives to produce her own version of California-Country, melding together western lifestyle, her unparalleled powerhouse vocals, traditional roots and modern energy.

Filled with uncompromising integrity, the “It” factor, and a dream, it’s no surprise Presley has shared the stage with musical heroes Tim McGraw, Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, Carly Pearce, Blake Shelton, Cole Swindell and more. Not only is she immensely talented, but she also has a heart of gold, donating her time to animal organizations through her Riffs & Rescues virtual charity tour, where she performs live and raises awareness and funds for various animal initiatives.

ABOUT LEVI HUMMON

Singer-songwriter Levi Hummon spent his early 20s practicing his art, but his immersion into country music started much, much earlier. From the day he was born, his father Marcus Hummon, (one of Nashville’s most prolific GRAMMY-winning songwriters [The Dixie Chicks, Tim McGraw, Rascal Flatts]) immersed Levi in the music scene, and It didn’t take long to realize the apple didn’t fall far from the tree.

At 24, Levi began releasing music of his own. Clean cut and compelling, he told stories of love and loss while building a loyal fanbase that has grown with him through every bend and break. As a Nashville native who was inspired by the legacies around him and had an undeniable gift of songwriting, it was no surprise that 5 years, 30 released songs, and 100 million streams later as an independent artist, Levi had created a name for himself.

In 2021, his viral Walker Hayes collaboration sensation “Paying for It” cemented Levi’s status as a rising country star. This sparked a new sense of confidence both on stage and in writing rooms that allowed him to discover the magnitude of his potential as an artist, and a new authentic version of Levi emerged. His follow-up tunes, “Bottled Up,” “For Me,” “Good Riddance,” and “Drink On” are the product of just that. Hummon says, “taking risks, finding my own voice, and showing the scars and roughness around the edges allowed me to portray the most honest version of myself”.

Coming off his first headlining tour in the Fall of ‘21, Levi found himself to be in high demand in the spring and summer of 2022. Warming up the stage for acts like Hardy, Jordan Davis, Brett Eldridge, Brett Young, and Dylan Scott, he was able to experience in person the effects of this momentum and the reward for being unapologetically himself.

While listeners across genres are creating the demand now more than ever for both a 90’s country comeback and an early 2000’s alternative rock revival, Levi’s new music has established a unique lane paved by both the influence of bands like Maroon 5, Weezer, and The Clash, and the Nashville community of songwriters he grew up with in his own backyard. As a country artist with now over 200 million streams, pulling from his skateboarding past, counterculture nostalgia and surfer aesthetic, Levi Hummon is paving the way for something big that hasn’t quite been seen before.

While hellbent on carrying on the family legacy, Levi Hummon is very much here to write his own story. Named one of Entertainment Weekly’s “5 Artists Breaking Now” and Rolling Stone Country’s “One to Watch”, it looks like his biggest chapter yet is right around the corner.

FEMME FATALE front woman LORRAINE LEWIS is “Living Like There’s No Tomorrow,” to quote the title of her newly released single on Cleopatra Records.

The red-hot and soaring anthem, which debuted this past Saturday (June 21) on Mark Strigl’s “Hair To Stay” show on Sirius XM’s “Hair Nation” channel, has arrived just in time for summer. With her big and gutsy voice, LORRAINE lights up the song and then takes it over the top in the captivating, cinematic video, which was unveiled today (June 24). Listen to the song HERE and watch the video HERE.

LORRAINE LEWIS cemented her place in rock history as lead vocalist for the band FEMME FATALE with their 1988 self-titled MCA album. It produced two big rock singles and MTV videos: Waiting For The Big One and Falling In And Out of Love.” Watch LORRAINE’s sizzle reel HERE.

Coming off a nearly six-year run as the fiery lead vocalist of Vixen, whom she was invited to join in 2019, the singer, songwriter, and sexy no-holds-barred performer is now doubling down on her legacy with new FEMME FATALE music. “Femme Fatale is what most people know me for,” says LORRAINE. “I like being the only girl in the room, and I’m determined to keep my rock legacy alive.”

“Living Like There’s No Tomorrow” was written by LORRAINE and Steve Brown of Trixter, who also produced the song. “Steve reached out to me a year ago and said, ‘Let’s make a record.’ I jumped at the chance to work with him. He had just come off the success of Ace Frehley’s hit single “10,000 Volts” and album of the same name. I’ve known Steve for years and was honored when he reached out. He’s a great songwriter/producer, so I knew we could make some magic.”

Continues LORRAINE: “It is very much the feel-good song of the summer! Steve sent me the track with the completed chorus. I was instantly hooked! The rest wrote itself. The song is a celebration of remembering who you are and living life to the max. It fits my attitude completely. The song defines living unapologetically and it’s an anthem for everyone! Ya know,” she adds, “I always have my foot on the gas.”

The “Living Like There’s No Tomorrow” video was directed by Vicente Cordero. “I’m over the moon about it,” says LORRAINE. “I had a vision. Vicente and I pulled out all the stops. He helped my vision come to life and said ‘yes’ to everything. I approached the style of the video to look like a rockin’ 90’s super model photo shoot for the cover of Rolling Stone! That’s the vibe I wanted! I had a great time and an amazing team in my corner.

“The video is bright and full of life and spirit,” she explains, “which is what the song is all about! I jumped from a plane, sailed on a boat, and raced a car. It was full-on bombastic fun! The video also carries the message to each and every one of us that, no one what tomorrow brings, let’s live it up today!” The video,” LORRAINE says, is “in the loving memory of Marty Callner,” the recently departed video director who “changed my life with the videos for Femme Fatale and many others including Heart and Whitesnake.”

LORRAINE says there are more singles and videos on the way in 2025, with the FEMME FATALE album expected in 2026.

In addition to her musical projects, “I’m excited to have jumped into the OnlyFans arena!” says LORRAINE. “I’ve always been unpredictable, and I know guys and girls have had my photo or poster on their wall since my hot videos back in the day. It’s time to go for it, have some fun and show off my wild side! I mean one of my singles is called ‘Waiting For The Big One.’ It just makes sense. I recently saw a clip of Cher saying she wished she would have been ‘badder’ which made me think, ‘Hell yes, I’m joining OnlyFans.’ I’ve wanted to for the longest time. Have you ever wondered what it’s like for me to be your girlfriend? Well here’s your chance. I’m following in the footsteps of Cardi B., Carmen Electra, Drea De Matteo, and more!” Connect with LORRAINE here: https://onlyfans.com/lorrainelewisrocks

“So many people put down social media,” she adds,” but I love it. It’s a way to connect with my tribe on a more personal level. I love being belly to belly with the fans & friends of mine.”

ABOUT IN THIS MOMENT

Since coming to life in 2005, the GRAMMY® Award-nominated act In This Moment have presided over a diehard fan base under the watch of “mother” figure and frontwoman Maria Brink—joined by co-founder and lead guitarist Chris Howorth, bassist Travis Johnson, guitarist Randy Weitzel, and drummer Kent Diimmel. As millions convened upon the group’s otherworldly and unforgettable concerts, they quietly emerged as one of the most influential and impactful bands of the 21st century.

To date, in addition to the Gold-selling album, BLOOD [2012], the quintet have garnered six Gold and Platinum singles, followed by a trifecta of Top 25 entries on the Billboard 200 with BLACK WIDOW [2014] and RITUAL [2017]. With a total stream tally well past 200 million as of 2020, RITUAL elevated them to new creative and critical peaks as well.

Between selling out headline tours coast-to-coast, the group performed in arenas everywhere alongside Disturbed and appeared at countless festivals from Lollapalooza to Sonic Temple. Along the way, they assembled their seventh full-length, the aptly titled Mother [Roadrunner Records] with longtime trusted collaborator Kevin Churko [Ozzy Osbourne, Five Finger Death Punch]. Whereas Ritual hinted at a bluesy sonic sorcery, Mother breathes the activating mantra of an unbreakable spell, commenced on first single “The In-Between.”

In 2022, the band released BLOOD 1983 [BMG], a reimagined EP commemorating the ten-year anniversary of BLOOD. Then in 2023, the longtime staples of heavy music released their eighth studio album GODMODE [BMG], a 10-song record featuring the powerful lead single “THE PURGE,” the band’s stunning cover of Björk’s “ARMY OF ME,” the collaborative track “DAMAGED” which features Spencer Charnas of Ice Nine Kills, and “I WOULD DIE FOR YOU,” which appears on the soundtrack for John Wick: Chapter 4.
