Hollywood, CA-based heavy rock’n’roll outfit BUDDERSIDE have shared the second single, “Pardon Me,” featuring Motörhead‘s Phil Campbell, from their upcoming sophomore album SPIRITUAL VIOLENCE out March 26 via Motörhead Music/Silver Lining Music. Available now across all digital platforms HERE, “Pardon Me” was inspired by none other than the late Motörhead vocalist Lemmy Kilmister who personally signed them to his label before his passing and previously enlisted frontman and vocalist Patrick Stone (ex-Adler’s Appetite) from his famous “road crew.”

The animated video for “Pardon Me”—seen featured below—was, as STONE reveals, “inspired by my experience of meeting, being taken in by, working for and ultimately BUDDERSIDE being signed to Motörhead Music by Lemmy Kilmister.”

STONE explains that “’Pardon Me’ is an oath. A look at life from the perspective that only our hero Lemmy had. It’s a promise to live up to, declared to the greatest man that ever lived.”

Greek stoner/psychedelic rock outfit 1000mods have spent the past decade as “torchbearers of the Greek underground” (The Obelisk, 12/21/2018) performing sold-out arena shows across their home country as well as appearing abroad at several of Europe’s most popular festivals (Hellfest, Copenhell, Desertfest, Motorcultor, etc.) and touring across North America, Europe and Australia.

This April saw 1000mods release their new album YOUTH OF DISSENT which was recorded by legendary producer Matt Bayles (Soundgarden, Isis, Mastodon) at Stone Gossard’s (founding member of Pearl Jam, Temple of the Dog) Litho Studio and London Bridge Studio (Pearl Jam). The album breaks the spacetime continuum over its 11 primitive, original and inspiring tracks as 1000mods time travel to the glorious 90’s, where fused elements of punk rock and heavy metal changed the face of music industry and led to the legendary grunge rock explosion.

Today, December 11, 1000mods have shared a jarring music video for its third single “Warped” which premiered yesterday (12/10) via New Noise Magazine. The dystopian-esque video was filmed in the band’s studio—the main character of the video–on a 90’s-style handheld portable mini DV camera by directors Tassos Gkoletsos and Giorgos Argyropoulos. “The isolation within the four walls of the studio during the creation of 1000mods latest album was followed by the lockdown, travel restrictions and concert banning by law,” Gkoletsos and Argyropoulos share. “Along with the band, we tried to depict this odd sense they had inside their heads of living in a distorted reality, reflecting the 12-month experience. It was the psychograph of a year, put in a clip.”

“Time and space as we know it might be bent (warped),” shares 1000mods. “But we will not let them create twisted (warped) history and facts about people’s need of real freedom without masters and authoritarians. We should not let them lead us to distorted (warped) lives anymore.”

“This year I’ve been locked down in the studio recording ‘Tokyo Jukebox 3’,” shares MARTY. “Recording an album like this one requires an abnormal amount of being sequestered anyway, so if anything, the pandemic kept me focused a bit more than usual. The goal was to come up with music that would be aggressively cathartic to those who were hit harder by the pandemic than I was. Having that in the back of my mind gave me one more layer of inspiration and energy, and hopefully it shows in the music.”

MARTY`s presence in the world of music, the world of guitar and Japanese pop culture is mystifying, bizarre, and nothing short of inspiring. His first major impact in music was in the game-changing guitar duo Cacophony, which he founded with equally enigmatic and now legendary guitarist, Jason Becker. He then spent 10 years as lead guitarist in the genre-defining thrash metal act Megadeth before moving to Tokyo due to his love for Japanese music, language, and culture.

Following his move, he landed a starring role for a new TV comedy, Hebimeta-san (“Mr. Heavy Metal”) and its spinoff, Rock Fujiyama, which ran for six seasons and propelled him into the living rooms of Japan`s mainstream. He has since appeared in over 800 tv shows, movies and commercials, including a two-year campaign with Coca-Cola for Fanta, authored two best-selling novels and was the first-ever foreigner to be appointed as an Ambassador of Japan Heritage and perform at the Opening Ceremony for the Tokyo Marathon in 2017, 2018 and 2019.

At the same time, MARTY has continued his career in music with several solo albums in addition to writing and performing with the top artists in Japanese music, racking up countless chart hits including a #1 with Smap, two #2 songs with Momoiro Clover, a #2 with Sound Horizon—just to name a few. His most recent release was 2018’s ONE BAD M.F. LIVE!, his 14^th solo album, which was recorded live in Mexico City during his latest North American tour in support of 2017’s full-length album WALL OF SOUND via Prosthetic Records. CDWA RECORDS and the California Desert Wizards Association (CDWA)—known for their annual Joshua Tree live music festival/generator party Stoned and Dusted—will present a world premiere livestream concert film series highlighting the California Desert Rock scene, LIVE IN THE MOJAVE DESERT: VOLUMES 1-5. Inspired by Pink Floyd’s Live at Pompeii 1972 concert documentary film, the series will consist of five concert streams featuring five albums from five bands as well as including visuals by Mad Alchemy Liquid Light Show filmed and recorded from the natural amphitheater of California’s Mojave Desert. Each event will last two hours which will include an hour long “Couchlock and Rock” session featuring a chat hosted by the California Desert Wizards alongside special guests including band members and icons from the California Desert Rock scene—think if MTV in the 80’s was run by heshers and stoners. The second hour will feature the 1080p HD livestream concert film experience. The band lineup includes:

“In October 2020 we filmed and recorded five bands in four days, deep in the deep sand and iconic rocks of the desert,” shares LIVE IN THE MOJAVE DESERT producer RYAN JONES. “It was a major undertaking to bring this many people and this much gear out to a very remote desert location. Including the bands, we had 25 people onsite daily. With only one road in, everyone and all the gear had to come up a half mile long hill of deep sand–30 miles from nowhere. We had to hire local desert guys with huge 4×4 pickups to help. The Mad Alchemy Liquid Light Show projected on a four-story high, double pyramid of boulders and we had a crack squad of filmmakers, photographers and recording engineers there to capture it all. It was insane, but it was worth it to see our favorite bands play again!”

The highly anticipated new project from acclaimed guitarist GEORGE LYNCH (Dokken, Lynch Mob), THE BANISHMENT, has today premiered their debut single “Lost Horizon” pegged to the launch of an Indiegogo campaign to assist with the funding for the recording and manufacturing of their self-titled debut album scheduled for release in early 2021. Self-proclaimed as “dream punk,” THE BANISHMENT is a collaborative effort formed by LYNCH with programmer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist JOE HAZE. The idea for THE BANISHMENT has been years in the making for LYNCH to further push his creativity into darker, subliminal and chaotic territories. To accomplish this, he teamed up with HAZE over five years ago, who in addition to being the live guitarist for Lords of Acid, is known in the industry for his work producing/co-producing, mixing and engineering for acts including Sublime, 8MM, Raymond Watts (PIG), Chuck Mosely, David Archuleta, Jedd Moss (Air Supply), Gladys Knight and television networks such as ESPN and National Geographic.

Following multiple failed attempts auditioning vocalists, THE BANISHMENT was close to being shelved until through a series of chance meetings and connections HAZE was introduced to DEVIX AKA at the 2019 Cold Waves Music Festival; he had been grinding his teeth against metal in the Los Angeles underground with acts including The Narcosis Design and Symbolism (featuring original members of Christian Death & Samhain) under the “dream punk” genre.

THE BANISHMENT has since been collectively working around the unpredictable covid-19 lockdown restrictions to record “Lost Horizon” and will continue to work on material for the forthcoming full-length debut. “This is a fun little compilation of bands I love,” says PSYCHOSEXUAL founder and spiritual leader JEREMY SPENCER, whose DEVIL DADDY persona fronts the fantasy and horror-inspired follow-up to his multi-platinum former band FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH. “There is definitely a tongue-in-cheek creepiness to the themes that tie the songs together, and that’s what made them so much fun to record. The fact that stalking and social distancing go hand-in-hand is just a happy coincidence.”

The EP also reunites SPENCER with former FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH guitarist JASON HOOK, who contributes solos on the KISS classic “Watchin’ You” and QUEENSRYCHE’s “Gonna Get Close To You.” The recordings mark the first time the pair have worked together since both parted ways with 5FDP.

In addition to dropping the EP, PSYCHOSEXUAL have also released promotional videos for all six tracks. “The opportunity to write, create, produce, shoot videos and release albums on my own label during these uncertain days is an incredible accomplishment under months of lockdown and fear,” says SPENCER, who was a founding member and co-writer in 5FDP.

PSYCHOSEXUAL released their debut album TORCH THE FAITH on July 31. Like the EP, it was co-produced by SPENCER and SHAWN MCGHEE (Drowning Pool) and released via SPENCER’s 6eX Records. The debut premiered at #150 on the Billboard Top Albums chart, reaching #5 on the Hard Music Albums, #12 on Top New Artist Albums and #30 on Current Rock Albums.

To celebrate Halloween, the band released an Anime-inspired video for “I Want To Be The Blood In Your Cut,” which featured a chorus sung by SPENCER in Japanese. The album version of the track is all in English and features a solo from TYPE O NEGATIVE guitarist KENNY HICKEY.

“This year has been uniquely challenging for all of us, to say the least, but releasing ‘TORCH THE FAITH’ has been a dream come true,” says SPENCER, who sports a Mephistophelian mask as DEVIL DADDY, and is joined in the band by guitarist CRUCIFER, bassist ASTAROTH and drummer VOLAC. “I’m a fan of so many types of music – from DAVID BOWIE to DEVO to black metal – and PSYCHOSEXUAL is the outlet I’ve needed to bring all these things together in one big evil stew. I can’t wait to finally tour and get out there to meet new fans and old familiar faces.”

The track is an empowering call-to-arms to humankind and its accompanying music video (as seen below) sheds light on current events that have plagued the year including the global pandemic, school shootings, an increase in homelessness, wildfires, police brutality, systemic racism, militant nationalism and isolationism with a mix of images and news clips. “[dear universe]” also includes audio provided by the estate of Charlie Chaplin from his ‘Final Speech’ in the 1940 film The Great Dictator:
