The Love Alive” tour by HEARTANN and NANCY WILSON–is crisscrossing the country, along the way attracting packed audiences and earning critical acclaim. Having kicked off July 9, it marks the band’s first tour in three years and was recently extended, now wrapping October 13. ANN and NANCY are backed by Craig Bartock (guitar), Dan Walker (keyboards), Denny Fongheiser (drums and percussion), Andy Stoller (bass) and Ryan Waters (guitar) for these shows hitting (among other cities) Chicago, Atlanta, Houston, Denver and Los Angeles (the historic Hollywood Bowl) before wrapping October 13.

Produced by Live Nation, the massive trek by the trend-setting, multiple-platinum Rock & Roll Hall of Fame legends includes a stellar line-up with Joan Jett & The Blackhearts joining the majority of shows. The first leg of the tour includes Sheryl Crow (who wrapped in July), Brandi Carlile, Elle King and Lucie Silvas as special guests. See the full itinerary and details below for a breakdown of which shows these artists will be appearing on the shows. Here’s some critical feedback from the LOVE ALIVE tour:

“…The rock ‘n’ roll of Heart is still beating…performed with renewed vigor…the women sounded exceptionally great throughout.”
–Kevin C. Johnson, ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH (Maryland Heights, MO), 7/10/19

“…Power-ballad ‘Alone’ and the crowd-rousing ‘Barracuda’ capped off the night, confirmed what was already plainly obvious: any way you cut it, Heart still rocks. Hard.”
–T’Cha Dunlevy, MONTREAL GAZETTE (Montreal, Quebec), 7/17/19

“The recently reunited Heart confidently re-claimed their throne in front of more than 20,000 fans on Sunday night at the Blossom Music Center in Akron, Ohio.”
–Matthew Wilkening, ULTIMATE CLASSIC ROCK (Cuyahoga Falls, OH), 8/9/19

“Heart…was in excellent form for their return to Darien Lake last Friday night…Ann Wilson‘s rock goddess pipes remain impressive…Her sister sang harmony throughout (along with the rest of the band), repeatedly nailing down the blended sound of their voices that’s essential to their musical signature. Nancy also sang lead and switched to mandolin for a run through 1985’s wistful ‘These Dreams.’ Overall, Heart still projects a powerful sound…the hiatus seems to have imbued the Wilson sisters with renewed sense of purpose.”
–Christopher Treacy, BUFFALO RISING (Darien, NY), 7/30/19

“Heart’s performance onstage was empowering and entertaining, leaving many fans with-pun intended-heavy hearts when the show ended.”
–Mary Galkowski, ST. LOUIS MAGAZINE (Maryland Heights, MO), 7/10/19

“The encore was one of the best I’ve seen in a while. ‘Barracuda’ rocked the roof off. But it was the band’s biggest hit, ‘Alone,’ that capped the night. The slowed-down version of this power ballad was something else. Ann’s stunning vocals are unmatched by anyone in the business. The heart and soul of the lyrics in this song were brought to surface. It was an amazing moment and something I can cross off my bucket list.”
–David T. Farr, STURGIS JOURNAL (Grand Rapids, MI), 7/20/19

“The rejuvenated Heart started with the surprise of “Rockin’ Heaven Down” for the first time in at least three decades, sounding in line with the group’s prime. That trend continued on the gasoline-doused “Magic Man,” along with spectacular versions of oldies as unrelated as Yes’ “Your Move,” Motown’s regularly shared “I Heard It Through The Grapevine,” Simon & Garfunkel’s “The Boxer” and Pink Floyd‘s “Comfortably Numb.”
–Andy Argyrakis, CHICAGO CONCERT REVIEWS (Tinley Park, IL), 7/11/19

“A revitalized Heart wasted no time dropping fan favorites ‘Rockin’ Heaven Down’ and ‘Magic Man,’ the latter of which highlighted Nancy Wilson‘s sultry syncopated strums. Soon, “Straight On” represented the first ‘Dog & Butterfly‘ song of the night–the album’s title track and ‘Mistral Wind’ also made welcome appearances during the performance–providing each Wilson sister with a platform to showcase their distinct styles and the many ways they effortlessly bob and weave together. Nancy’s flower child energy, shrouded in a mysterious aura, juxtaposed Ann’s unflinching command of center stage, a sly smile fixed on her face each time she stepped towards the microphone.”
–Laurie Fanelli, EPONYMOUS REVIEW(Tinley Park, IL), 7/12/19

“…they still sound every bit as good as they did back in the ’70s and ’80s. Actually, I’m convinced that they’re ageless rock goddesses who will always sound exactly the same and have all the energy they always have had-because their talent seems to keep them young no matter how much time goes by.”
–Angelina Singer, BOSTON SPORTS DESK(Mansfield, MA), 7/18/19

“Appearing onstage to the hard rock classic ‘Rockin’ Heaven Down,’ which quickly veered into their famously lusty ‘Magic Man,’ Ann Wilson sang with a thunderous voice that could’ve out-roared Indycar, which had happened throughout the weekend nearby. Over four decades her voice’s raunchy, raw force remains undiminished and chill-inducing. Guitarist and some-time vocalist Nancy’s presence was equally felt as she pounded on her guitar and swung her mass of blond, wavy hair around like flag.”
–Chaka V. Grier, NOW TORONTO (Toronto, ON), 7/15/19

“Ann still sounds amazing and Nancy still plays and sings as well as ever, and yes, it is still magic when these two side by side on stage. The band is already tight and the sisters seemed to pick up right where they left off. As this tour gains momentum, I’m confident it will only get better…This tour delivered on every level–production, sound, quality performance, it was all in place. I did not see or hear one single disappointed concertgoer on this night. The bottom line is that Heart still delivers an amazing rock-and-roll show well worth your time and I highly recommend seeing these two icons if you have the chance.”
–Keith Brake, THE TELEGRAPH (Maryland Heights, MO), 7/11/19

About HEART:
When Ann and Nancy Wilson formed HEART, the idea of two women leading a rock band was still groundbreaking. From the moment 1976‘s Dreamboat Annie was released, they became stars. With hits like “Magic Man,” “Crazy On You,” “Barracuda,” “Alone,” “What About Love,” and “These Dreams,” the band became one of the biggest hit-makers in the seventies and eighties selling more than 35 million records. In 2012, their memoir Kicking & Dreaming: A Story of Heart, Soul and Rock & Roll became a New York Times bestseller, and in 2013 the group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

TASH SULTANA Shares Q&A In Advance of Fall U.S. Tour Dates

DATE:        AUGUST 14, 2019

FROM:       MARCEE RONDAN/MITCH SCHNEIDER/KELLY WALSH/SRO PR

TASH SULTANA

Q&A

Multi-instrumentalist and global sensation TASH SULTANAis returning to North America for a fall 2019 tour that includes stops at Red Rocks Amphitheatre (Colorado) and the Central Park Summerstage (New York), along with a slot on the Ohana Festival (Los Angeles). These tour dates mark the largest headlining gigs in TASH‘s career and come after a few spring shows in the U.S., followed by solo performances and festival appearances this summer in Europe. Last year was one of the biggest years in TASH‘s career. Highlights include the release of her debut album FLOW STATE (Mom and Pop Music) which entered the charts at #4 on the Billboard Alternative Albums Chart and also charted across the globe.

Check out a Q&A with TASH below:

Q: You started busking on the streets of Melbourne. Did you have experiences back then that have shaped and inspired you as a musician?

TASH SULTANA (TS): I didn’t start out by busking, I started playing open mic nights and doing battle of the bands from when I was 13. I started busking after I finished high school. Nobody has to stop and give you their time when you’re busking, so you build and organic audience from the street and learn how to keep people’s attention.

Q: You’ve mastered multiple instruments that allow you to be a one-person band, from guitar and bass to percussion and even brass instruments. Does picking up and learning a new instrument come naturally to you or is it something that you work at?

(TS): I wouldn’t say that I have mastered anything, I just have a knack for learning new things and a curious mind that makes me interested in sound and instruments.

Q: When you’re working on new music, where do you draw inspiration from?

(TS): Wherever I am…it comes to me when it comes.

Q: Your live set-up is very intimate since you decorate the stage with a carpet and various personal items; it allows one to feel like they are witnessing a private performance. What inspired this presentation?

(TS): I like to give the environmental feeling that I’m at home in my lounge room. It makes performing less intimidating.

Q: Can you talk about what goes into creating your setlist?

(TS): I change up my setlist depending on the show and how I’m feeling that day but there’s a natural ebb and flow I go for usually.

Q: Speaking of audiences, you recently headlined some of the biggest arenas across UK & Europe and this fall you’ll return to the U.S. for an amphitheater tour and some festival dates (Ohana, Life Is Beautiful). Do you have anything special prepared for your return to the U.S.?

(TS): After every tour I go back to the studio and work with my crew to see how we can make the show better. We’ve overhauled the old show and put that to rest and now we’re moving forward with the new show. If you don’t change and try to be better, you just die creatively.

Q: What are you most looking forward to for the forthcoming tour? Are there any new cities you’re performing in that you haven’t visited before?

(TS): I’m looking forward to Red Rocks.

Q: What have your travels taught you so far?

(TS): That touring is not a holiday.

Q: What are your preshow rituals?

(TS): I use essential oils, voice vaporizing, infrared light therapy to induce the feeling of outside light which helps in dark dressing rooms. And I have my drum pad and my guitar.

Q: Can you describe your best gig ever–and possibly your worst one?

(TS): The worst gig I will spare from telling anybody. The best one I’ve had–so many I couldn’t pick one.

Q: What is your favorite album or songs to play on the long travel days?

(TS): Anything Soul and R&B.

Q: If you were to record a duet with a current artist, who might that be, and which song would you cover and why?

(TS): I wouldn’t cover a song, but I am working with other artists at the moment.

Q: If you overheard one fan talking to another after leaving a show of yours, what would you like to hear them say about the gig?

(TS): That it was a good show.

SINGLE MUSIC Launches New Marketing Tool BOOSTLINKS: Bundling For the Streaming Age

DT: AUGUST 13, 2019

FM: MITCH SCHNEIDER, KELLY WALSH/SRO PR

SINGLE MUSIC
LAUNCHES NEW MARKETING TOOL

BOOSTLINKS:
BUNDLING FOR THE STREAMING AGE

CEO + ENTREPREUNEUR/MUSICIAN
TOMMY STALKNECHT SHARES DETAILS IN Q&A

SINGLE MUSIC was designed by musician and CEO Tommy Stalknecht to empower artists and labels to directly sell their merch and music with ease while making the most revenue. To further help artists achieve success, the company has developed a new marketing tool to drive follows, subscribes and pre-saves called BoostLinks. The tool allows artists to create a customizable landing page that combines their physical merch with pre-adds, saves and streaming links to increase fan engagement, follows and subscribes. With every purchase, the fan receives an email further ‘boosting’ whichever various channels they choose to promote. Further details can be found here: sn.gl/boost-launch.

Find out more about BoostLinks in the below Q&A with Stalknecht:
SINGLE MUSIC continues to keep growing and is now offering a new marketing tool, BoostLinks, which drives follows, subscribes and shares. Can you talk about how this will benefit both the fans, record labels and the artists who use SINGLE MUSIC?

“As the industry shifts to a streaming-first model, it’s important to update familiar tools like bundling for the new paradigm. Unlike iTunes’ halcyon days where one store carried 80% of the market, streaming has many major & minor players. Fans need a simple way to save or add music to whichever service they prefer.

“Through BoostLinks, artists can create a shareable landing page to promote their music across all platforms. They can also proactively market to fans who make a purchase from their store. Bundling digital albums with physical merch is nothing new but bundling a pre-save or follow with merch is. Artists and labels can even promote niche locations like TikTok, Patreon, Twitch & branded playlists–growing both their streaming plays and revenue.”

What inspired SINGLE MUSIC to come up with Boostlinks? Was it something your clients were asking for?

“Looking at trends in the industry, it’s clear that current initiatives center around pre-adds/saves of singles and albums. While d2c digital distribution & bundling remain a core service of Single, our mission is to create tools that benefit artists and their bottom line. We saw a gap in the market around a very common promotional tactic, and thought about ways it could be updated for the streaming-era.”

You are truly making it easier for musicians, who use SINGLE MUSIC, to create and tour by streamlining the process of selling music and merch to their fans. Since you are a musician yourself, can you shed some light on how musicians can benefit from this?

“It’s no secret that the majority of revenue an artist makes comes from touring and merchandise sales. While it’s unfortunate that artists are making less from their art, new technologies are stepping in–like Single & Shopify–to help artists maximize other revenue streams. Unlike platforms that take 10% of physical revenue in perpetuity, Shopify supports merch sales with a flat monthly fee –and Single monetizes direct-to-fan digital sales at less than half the cost of iTunes. Not only do artists keep drastically more money with this model, they have access to an incredible amount of data to help inform things like tour locations & sales strategies.”
###
Aligned with Shopify, SINGLE MUSIC continues to expand boundaries with their innovative app that allows direct-to-consumer sales as well as being the first and only Shopify app to offer BuzzAngle reporting–a new daily sales reporting system that is utilized by the new Rolling Stone Charts. The feature will be included at no additional cost with all digital and physical sales reporting which already includes instant reporting to Nielsen for official Billboard chart tallying.

SINGLE MUSIC now has over 900 artists currently signed up for their service, including Lil Peep, Sheck Wes, Toro Y Moi, Chromeo and newcomers T-Pain, Aaron Lewis and Lil Pump. They have also aligned themselves with many top merchandising companies such as Live Nation Merch, Futureshirts, The Hyv, Absolute Merch, Top Drawer Merch and more.

SINGLE MUSIC has confirmed over 150,000 digital albums purchased and 275,000 total sales reported to Soundscan including Gillian Welch‘s Oscar nominated single When A Cowboy Trades His Spurs For Wings,” along with Billboard #1 albums from Thirty Seconds to Mars, Kacey Musgraves, Peter Hollens, For King & Country and John Prine.

The European tour launches October 27 with a festival appearance at the Bluesfest at O2 Arena in LondonRICKIE LEE’s tour dates follow the release of KICKS, her newest collection of songs from the great American songbook, which was released in June.

Check out a live clip of “Nagasaki,” the second single from KICKS. For her version of the song–which was first performed by the Ipana Troubadours in 1928 and was most famously recorded by the Benny Goodman Quartet in 1952–JONES gives the track a traditional jazz offering of tight three-part harmonies.

Here’s some early critical feedback from RICKIE LEE JONES’ recent live shows:

“…a joyously wondrous evening with one of America’s greatest living singer-songwriters…Jones enchanted an audience with a repertoire that was remarkably diverse in sound and style…Jones consistently made magic with her three-piece band.”

–Peter Blackstock, AUSTIN 360, 6-23-19

“Rickie Lee Jones shows Marina Del Rey the live jazzy style that made her famous…on a clear summer night, Jones played a range of jazzy bebop style tunes and kept the crowd enthralled with a voice that is still as youthful as when she recorded the 1979 hit ‘Chuck E’s In Love.’ She’s spunky and funky and fun.”
–Donna Balancia, CALIFORNIA ROCKER, 7-20-19

On KICKS RICKIE LEE JONES spans two decades (50s-70s) of pop, rock and jazz, presenting her unique and sophisticated interpretations of these songs. JONES is that rare musician who has transcended the singer/songwriter mantle by incorporating different radio genres from the get-go and she continues that tradition on the forthcoming album. It is fitting that one of the American treasures of songwriters should be comfortable with this diverse collection of the great songwriters of the 20th century. KICKS was created entirely in New Orleans, using local musicians, mixers and studios. Produced by RICKIE LEE JONES with her bandmate, vibraphonist Mike Dillionit features 10 songs of a highly infectious nature.

Alt-Americana singer, songwriter and musician MANDA MOSHER has shared the video for her new single “Nobody Gives A Damn About Songs Anymore,” which has been released today (7/26). It’s the Los Angeles native’s spirited take on the John Moreland song that will be featured on her third solo album out this fall on her Blackbird Record Label. Directed by Bob Wayne (http://bobwayne.com/) and shot at multiple locations in the San Fernando Valley, the music video was premiered this past Wednesday (7/24) at The Bluegrass Situation. The uplifting clip, which heartwarmingly underlines the importance of songs, can be seen streaming below.
Describing the storyline, MOSHER says: “When thinking of a video concept for ‘Nobody Gives A Damn About Songs Anymore,’ the imagery that came to mind was knocking on doors with your songs in tow, as that’s often how it feels as a songwriter and musician. You’re looking for the right person and audience that your music speaks to, and a lot of doors close before the right ones open. We wanted it to have some levity, so we called in some friends and had some fun with the door to door aspect, finally finding acceptance from a child. Even within a technological industry that has stripped away artist’s ability to make money from their art, artists continue to create because that’s what we do. It’s for the love of it first: ‘Blessed with a curse.'”

Originally intended as a song to record with CALICO the band, her previous group, it’s been reborn with impassioned harmonies by her guitarist Eric Craig and resounds as fervent proof why songs still matter and always will. “On the new album, I’m returning to my rock n’ roll roots while incorporating elements of the California Country sound I’ve been known for more recently,” says MOSHER. “You’re gonna hear an honest representation of the music, keeping the influence of technology on the production to a minimum in the tradition of some of my favorite recordings from artists that shaped me like Tom Petty, Lucinda Williams, and Wilco. I can’t wait to share it with everyone.”

The award-winning artist and entrepreneur will celebrate the release of Nobody Gives A Damn About Songs Anymore tonight and tomorrow with two gigs in California, to be followed by an August show at the Hotel Café in Los Angeles. In September, she’ll head to Nashville to take part in AMERICANAFEST including performing at The California Country Show–an event she co-founded in association with her own record label, California Country Records.
