Chicago native and current Nashville songbird MAKENA HARTLIN today (4/27) releases the striking video for her newly released single “LA.” A deeply soulful ballad about romantic heartbreak and how lives can take different turns, it will be included on MAKENA’s upcoming five-song debut EP, She Decides, out later this summer on the Nashville label Melody Place. Watch the video HERE and listen to the single, written by MAKENA and Konrad Kupiec, HERE.

Directed by Chancellor Warhol, the “LA” video was filmed almost entirely in black and white, conjuring classic old Hollywood movies, with MAKENA starring as an actress and Barron Boedecker as the male lead.

“I was beyond blown away at how accurately Chance brought my vision for this video to life—he nailed all the visual aspects and easily understood what the purpose of the Old Hollywood aesthetic served in terms of the song’s meaning,” says MAKENA. “I was really thrilled to work with him and his team that day in East Nashville.  I have always felt passionate about this era of film and art and feel blessed to have been able to put my own spin on it.  I am so excited to see people’s theories and interpretations of it.”

Before signing with Melody Place, MAKENA independently released the songs “The Apple” and “Jealous Girls.” These songs, plus “LA”—along with “Less Lonely” and “She Decides,” out in June and July, respectively—all together comprise the EP.

“I couldn’t be more excited and proud to have signed with Melody Place,” says MAKENA of her exclusive recording agreement and publishing deal with Melody Place and its affiliate, Melody Place Publications (BMI). “I am so grateful to have joined a team who is truly behind my artistry and who work so tirelessly to get the songs to the world. I can’t wait to see all we will accomplish as a team.”

Explaining the label’s passion to sign her, President/General Manager Sanborn McGraw says: “Makena Hartlin is without question the most talented emerging songwriter I have yet to encounter since moving to Nashville. Being able to find a talent truly worthy of the resources necessary to ‘break’ an artist onto the main stage, is an opportunity Melody Place could not be more excited to embark upon.”

About Makena Hartlin:

Nashville is known for being the most cut-throat and saturated city for musicians; some even call it a ten-year town. But in Makena’s first year alone, she racked up Nashville milestones one by one.  She quickly stood out for her unique writing style and voice and was noticed by Eric Fortaleza and Mike Gannon, the founders of the award-winning artist collective Pitch Meeting and was asked to join the world class house band in its early stages in January 2021. The group went on to win “Best Writers’ Night” by the Nashville Scene that year, as well as grace the Ryman Auditorium stage for a sold-out show as the backing band for the Whiskey Jam Ten Year Reunion.  Makena has since sung backup vocals for numerous top acts in music including Lainey Wilson, Karen Fairchild, Charles Kelley, Randy Travis, David Ryan Harris, Gavin DeGraw, and countless others. When she realized she was sharing stages with artists who used to only be voices in her headphones and whose lives she watched from afar, she realized just how much potential this city had for her and that she certainly made the right decision.  She has become a member of the popular all-female songwriter round Song Suffragettes at the Listening Room Cafe, and played multiple full band showcases at the Whiskey Jam.

Being a core member of the Pitch Meeting band, Makena would perform her songs at the weekly full-band writers’ open mic night, and at many of the other events and venues the group played such as the Brooklyn Bowl, and the festival Bonnaroo.  Songs like “The Apple,” “LA,” and “She Decides” became staple crowd favorites due to their universally felt themes such as overcoming generational trauma, enduring unrequited love, and becoming empowered to leave unhealthy relationships.  While Makena gravitates toward song themes with weight, they have an undertone of empowerment and positivity that lightens up the darkness of the human experience.  She quickly earned the nickname “Songbird of Nashville” around town by musicians and artists due to her soaring melodies, feminine essence, and her storytelling and vocal power.

YESSteve Howe, Geoff Downes, Jon Davison, Billy Sherwood and Jay Schellen—have today (April 26) released “All Connected,” the second single from their upcoming studio album MIRROR TO THE SKY out May 19 on InsideOutMusic/Sony Music. Watch the video HERE.

Jon Davison comments: “I, along with my Yes band mates are excited to announce that the second single from our new album ‘Mirror to the Sky’ is out now. It’s entitled ‘All Connected,’ and it’s a longer piece, clocking in at a challenging 9 minutes. Steve added a beautifully poignant instrumental steel part which starts the journey. This section emotionally builds and crescendos into a glorious lead way for the vocals to begin telling their story. Billy composed complex and compelling musical themes which I helped to arrange, and we both composed vocals and lyrics, each of us singing our respective parts, making for a rich vocal tapestry.”

Billy Sherwood adds: The initial idea came from a musical sketch I’d created using the idea of our ‘connectivity’ in regard to communications in the modern age. It’s very exciting to know YES are maintaining that edge and energy we all know and love. This track is firing on all cylinders. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did creating it.”

“This is a very important album for the band,” says Steve Howe, YES’ longest serving member, master guitarist, and producer of MIRROR TO THE SKY. “We kept the continuity in the approach we established on The Quest, but we haven’t repeated ourselves. That was the main thing. As Yes did in the seventies from one album to another, we’re growing and moving forward. In later years, Yes often got going but then didn’t do the next thing. This album is demonstrative of us growing, and building again.”

For YES, that “next thing” is a collection of high energy, intricate, lush and layered new studio songs for an album which adds to the band’s much heralded legacy, while charting a path to exciting future times ahead. Watch the previously released video for “Cut From The Stars” HERE.

MIRROR TO THE SKY will be available on several formats, all featuring artwork by long-time YES artist & collaborator Roger Dean:

As they were wrapping up their previous album The Quest, YES found themselves with song sketches, structures, and ideas that were demanding attention. YES received unconditional support from InsideOut boss Thomas Waber, who encouraged them to keep going in the studio, months before The Quest would even go on sale. It was like throwing gasoline on their creative fire.

“When we delivered everything, and they were just getting the vinyl and everything into production for manufacturing, we were still very much in that creative zone,” explains Steve Howe. “That belief that Thomas had in us really meant a lot,” he says.

“We truly get along as people,” says Jon Davison. “I feel like everyone’s focused inward to the greater circle, concentric to the core of highest standards that define Yes. It’s a wonderful thing to witness and of which to play a part. I believe this reflects vibrantly in the music and the creative input that each one is willing to apply, not for the benefit of the individual, but for the greater whole that is Yes.”

“There was a lot of material floating around because the band hadn’t done anything in the studio for so long. Ideas were just copious,” says bassist Billy Sherwood. “The pace of it was fast. As soon as we were finished with The Quest, and the mix had come out, we took a couple of little breaks there to catch our breath. But there was still music flowing around in the loop. It was just constantly being looked at and worked on. As we were all home and in that mode, things started progressing quite swiftly. We just went one album into another without really announcing, ‘Hey, we’re working on a second record right now.’ We just continued to work on material. It came about pretty naturally, and then we refined it as the process went on. But the initial bursts — there was a lot of material around!”

Much to everyone’s delight, including that of longtime-fan Thomas Waber, YES have pushed into territory they practically invented the prog rock epic—albeit in a thoroughly new and modern way. “I always felt that it would be great to have stuff that’s a little bit more epic,” he says, although he resisted the temptation to push for something that would be too formatted and could come off as contrived. He just gave the band space to do what they do and let things develop. “They were so excited by The Quest and the momentum they had that they went straight back in to the studio. What they were writing, even early on, was obviously headed in that epic direction—what Yes music really is to me. It is almost a genre onto itself. It is ‘Yes Music.’ Mirror To The Sky certainly is Yes Music.”

MIRROR TO THE SKY features not one, but four tracks clocking in at over eight minutes, with the sweeping and cinematic title track coming in just shy of fourteen minutes. What’s more, the tracks, like Yes’ best, take the listener on a wide dynamically ranging journey of soundscapes which also showcase Steve Howe’s dazzling guitars, Jon Davison’s angelic, crystalline vocals, Billy Sherwood’s deftly dancing bass, keyboard wizard Geoff Downes’ impeccable sounds, exquisite melodies and fills, and Jay Schellen’s masterfully controlled explosions, on drums.

Jay Schellen, who has been touring with the band since 2016, was hand-picked to step into his mentor and friend Alan White’s role when White sadly passed away in 2022. “I had done the 2016 Topographic Drama tour on my own for Alan,” says Jay. “From late 2017 onwards, we had a partnership, and a beautiful partnership, I might add. I learned so much, and discovered so much about Alan’s style, and why it was the way it was. It fit his personality so perfectly. This album has Alan’s presence all over it. It is inside of us. So this is still, in my heart, Alan just being present and with us, and with me, in a big way.”

Coming off his singles/videos with Molly Tuttle (White Freight Liner Blues) and Little Feat/Sam Bush (“Cajun Girl”), Grammy-nominated acoustic guitarist extraordinaire, composer and global touring artist TOMMY EMMANUEL has today (April 24) rolled out “Doc’s Guitar/Black Mountain Rag Featuring Billy Strings.” Watch TOMMY’s video with Grammy-winning artist Billy Strings—filmed by Joshua Britt and Neilson Hubbard for Neighborhoods Apart at TuneSmith Studios outside of Nashville as the song was being recorded—HERE. The video was premiered yesterday (4/25) by The Bluegrass Situation HERE.

With an intoxicating blend of precision and passion, both guitarists light up this two-song bluegrass medley honoring their hero, bluegrass legend Doc Watson (who would have celebrated his 100th birthday this past March 3). The track kicks off TOMMY’s full-length collaborations album ACCOMPLICE TWO, the follow-up to his Accomplice One album (2018), out this Friday, April 28 via CGP Sounds. Pre-save the album HERE.

“Doc’s Guitar/Black Mountain Rag Featuring Billy Strings” starts with Doc’s own song “Doc’s Guitar” and segues into the “Black Mountain Rag,” an old fiddle tune that was Doc’s signature song. Strings is the Michigan-born guitarist who won the 2021 Grammy for Best Bluegrass Album for his release Home. Like TOMMY, Billy honors his roots while also expanding always as a musician. His energy combined with TOMMY’s is what drives the track.

Quote from TOMMY:

“I knew I wanted to have Billy Strings play with me on ‘Doc’s Guitar/Black Mountain Rag.’ The moment we played together the very first time at MerleFest (2016), I heard his beautiful phrasing and his Doc quotes that took me back to hearing Doc when I was a teenager. Billy has Doc in his DNA, so getting him to come and record these tunes was only a matter of finding a time to capture it in a studio. The actual recording was quick, and we only did a couple of takes and we were done.  I had never heard Doc in Australia as I had spent most of my life in very rural areas where record stores were rare and music by Chet, Merle and Doc was impossible to find. It was an American tourist who saw me play at a show and came up to me afterwards and told me I sounded a bit like Doc Watson. I said, ‘who is Doc Watson? ” He gave me his tape out of his car stereo and I heard Doc for the first time. I think that was around 1973-4. I was smitten with his singing and his great playing, and I could hear the influences of Chet Atkins and Merle Travis all over his playing, but there was some Jimmie Rodgers too. Then I found more recordings that led to some of his fiddle tunes and blazing guitar works! My personal favorite recording by Doc is the album Reflections—a duets album with Chet Atkins. His legacy and body of work and influence are monumental and unequalled in my eyes. Thanks Doc for showing so many of us the way!”

Track details:

Doc’s Guitar written by Doc Waters for Hilgreen Music (BMI)
Black Mountain Rag written by Leslie Keith (Public Domain)

Tommy Emmanuel – guitar

“My accomplices on this album are all in a league of giants to me,” says TOMMY. “They all inspire me to reach for the stars; to give my best while supporting them as they give their best. We all have a chemistry and electricity together when we play music. I wanted to capture this power in songs and performances that will stand the test of time.”

Produced lovingly by EMMANUEL, regarded by guitar great Chet Atkins as “one of the best guitar players I’ve ever seen,” the 16-track ACCOMPLICE TWO is a spirited mix of new takes on indelible classics and brand-new originals from TOMMY. His collaborators are some of the most remarkable musicians on the planet—an “A” list of musicians including Billy Strings, Molly Tuttle, Michael McDonald, Jamey Johnson and Raul Malo.

The album is alive with the electric spirit of spontaneous, timeless joy created by inspired virtuosos. The combined artistry contained on these tracks is stunning, as is TOMMY’s cheerful ease at connecting naturally with this vast spectrum of musicians. Like the first volume, he merges the presence of beloved, legendary musicians—such as Jorma Kaukonen, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Little Feat, Sam Bush, the Del McCoury Band and Jerry Douglas—with the bright spirit of acclaimed young artists breaking through with deep artistry and true reverence for the power of song.

Look for TOMMY’s concert special “Accomplice LIVE!”—featuring such guests as Emmylou Harris, Rodney Crowell, Sierra Hull and Yasmin Williams—airing now on PBS during pledge drive. Known to deliver shows that are truly a head-spinning experience, TOMMY and his accomplices will be on the road throughout 2023 in America, Europe and Australia. His tour dates are HERE.

ABOUT TOMMY EMMANUEL:

TOMMY EMMANUEL has achieved enough musical milestones to satisfy several lifetimes. At the age of six, he was touring regional Australia with his family band. By 30, he was a rock n’ roll lead guitarist burning up stadiums in Europe. At 44, he became one of five people ever named a CPG (Certified Guitar Player) by his idol, music icon Chet Atkins. Today, he plays hundreds of sold-out shows every year from Nashville to Sydney to London. He’s piled up numerous accolades, including two Grammy Award nominationstwo ARIA Awards from the Australian Recording Industry Association (the Aussie equivalent of the Recording Academy); repeated honors in the Guitar Player magazine reader’s poll including a cover story for their August 2017 issue; a cover feature for Vintage Guitar’s July 2020 issue; and was Music Radar’s reader’s poll #1 winner of the Ten Best Acoustic Guitarists in The World (December 2019). A noted fingerstyle guitarist, EMMANUEL frequently threads three different parts simultaneously into his material, operating as a one-man band who handles the melody, the supporting chords and the bass all at once. His talents, which translate in any language, carry him to the far corners of the globe, but EMMANUEL never plays the same show twice, and he improvises big chunks of every date. That leaves him open to those technical imperfections, though they also provide some of the humanity to an other-worldly talent. On May 8, 2020, he released a newly recorded career-spanning double album, THE BEST OF TOMMYSONGS, via CGP Sounds/Cruzen Street Records). Watch the album trailer here which focuses on TOMMY’s unique ability to tell stories without words: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SOQEMWYAQ4&feature=youtu.be. EMMANUEL subsequently released three EP’s with different collaborators, Accomplice Series Vol. 1, 2 and 3, the last of which was in 2022.

TASH SULTANA
ANNOUNCES 2023 NORTH AMERICAN TOUR
29 DATES INCLUDE SHOWS IN CITIES THEY HAVE NEVER PERFORMED IN AS WELL AS FESTIVAL APPEARANCES INCLUDING SEA.HEAR.NOW, FORMAT FESTIVAL AND MEMPHO MUSIC FESTIVAL
TICKETS ON SALE FRIDAY, APRIL 28

Since they broke through into the Australian music scene more than a decade ago, TASH SULTANA has been nothing less than a musical force.

The gender-fluid multi-instrumentalist, producer, singer-songwriter, engineer and entrepreneur has carved out every step in their musical journey over the last 15 years. This has taken them from performing open mics night all over Australia, busking the streets of Melbourne to releasing platinum records, accumulating billions of streams and selling hundreds of thousands of concert tickets worldwide. TASH has continued to rocket up the charts and win awards across the globe including the Rolling Stone (AU) 2023 Global Artist of the Year.

Following the news that they will be touring Europe this year, TASH SULTANA has just announced they will be headlining another series of North American shows from August to October 2023. Visiting some cities they have never performed in before as well some huge festivals, TASH SULTANA is back.

“New Cities, New Dates, North America … I’m Coming Back,” TASH says.

TASH recently released the first single “James Dean,” from their upcoming EP due out later this year. This will be the first time North American fans will have to see new music performed live.

“James Dean” is a powerful and soulful song about self-reflection and transformation. It’s a heartfelt ode to learning who your true friends are and having the courage to cut ties with those who don’t add value to your life. The song is driven by a strong guitar riff and a steady beat, while TASH’s passionate vocals entice you to reflect on the relationships you have and how you can make the necessary changes to move forward in life.

TASH began playing the guitar at the age of three after being gifted the instrument from their late grandfather. From there TASH began to pick up other instruments such as piano, keyboard, synth, bass, drums, percussion, beat making, sampling, beatboxing, trumpet, saxophone, flute, mandolin, oud, harmonica, lap steel and panpipes. TASH developed their own unique style of playing involving percussive and finger tapping style guitar coinciding with a vocal range stretching five octaves. TASH and their team also designed a custom loop station which took over two years to build to meet the needs of the intricate and one-of-a-kind performance style.

It all began with the refusal to conform to normal society; this pushed the young artist into pubs and clubs and then eventually onto the streets of Melbourne to busk, where they harnessed crowd stopping performances on Melbourne’s famous Bourke Street. From there, a viral bedroom recording of “Jungle” in 2016 skyrocketed the artist off the street and in front of the world.

TASH has since broken attendance records at sold out global arena tours, selling out the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre for the second time in just five minutes. In 2019 alone, TASH sold over half a million tickets across the globe. TASH’s second album, the #1 ARIA-charting TERRA FIRMA, arrived three years after the ARIA-winning debut album FLOW STATE.

In 2022 TASH released a special MTV UNPLUGGED (LIVE IN MELBOURNE) album featuring live performances recorded at Melbourne’s Iconic Chapel off Chapel. The record is an intimate look at an artist thriving in their natural element. TASH’s MTV unplugged performance was the most successful of any Australian artist to date, having their performance shared in over 160+ different countries.

These shows are just the start of another huge year for TASH.

DATE: APRIL 24, 2023

FROM: LYNDIE WENNER/MARCEE RONDAN

THE SPINNERS—
4 X CURRENT ROCK & ROLL HALL OF FAME NOMINEES
MOTOWN LEGENDS, INFLUENTIAL HITMAKERS
AND ORIGINATORS OF THE SOUND OF PHILADELPHIA—
MAKE SPECIAL GUEST APPEARANCE AT
PHILADELPHIA MUSIC ALLIANCE GALA (APRIL 20)

EVENT PERFORMANCE PAID TRIBUTE TO MUSICAL PEERS
HONORING 2023 WALK OF FAME INDUCTEES
AND LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT HONOREES

THE SPINNERS6 x Grammy-nominated and 4x Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nominees for 2023 induction–made a special guest appearance Thursday evening (April 20) at the Philadelphia Music Alliance Gala. Held in the heart of Philadelphia’s Center City at Broad Street’s “Vie,” the event celebrated 2023’s Walk of Fame inductees along with Lifetime Achievement Awards honoring Kenny Gamble, Leon Huff, and the late Grammy-winning producer, writer and arranger Thom Bell who produced a string of hits for the evening’s special guest performers. Bell produced “I’ll Be Around,” “Ghetto Child,” and “The Rubber Band Man” as well as the chart-topping “Then Came You” featuring Dionne Warwick and more during their time recording for Atlantic Records where The Spinners went on to become one of the biggest soul groups of the 1970’s and helped to cement The Sound of Philadelphia. Along with THE SPINNERS’ performance, a musical tribute was given to Bobby Rydell, Thom Bell, Charlie Gracie and others.

Inductees to the Walk of Fame included Leslie Odom Jr., The Bacon Brothers, The Tymes, and the late James De Priest. WDAS FM’s Patty Jackson and John DeBella were inducted onto Radio Row, and Larry Magid received a Founders Award for creating the Philadelphia Music Alliance in 1985. Governor Rendell also received a Founders Award for creating the Avenue of the Arts in 1993.

The Spinners, an influential R&B vocal group formed in 1954 in suburban Detroit, celebrate a 60+ decade career which has included consistent touring and massive hits. With their awe-inspiring vocal range and harmonic abilities on songs that elegantly merged smooth Philly soul with glistening pop, THE SPINNERS have left a big mark on the musical world.

2023 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees will be announced in May, with the induction ceremony taking place this fall. The top five artists selected through fan voting will be tallied along with the ballots from the Rock Hall’s international voting body to determine the Class of 2023. Fans can vote online every day through April 28 at: https://vote.rockhall.com/en/

“It’s a pleasure being selected by this,” founding member Henry Fambrough told Billboard last month in a feature (2/1/23). “We’ve been in this position over years and years, but we just haven’t won anything yet. But it’s a pleasure being selected like this. When you’re nominated like that, at least someone is thinking about you. You’re not sitting at home not hearing anything–you know what I’m saying?”

THE SPINNERS have remained an actively touring group for decades, performing their beloved hits to audiences of all ages, and released a new album in 2021, Round the Block and Back Again. Their current line-up–Jessie Peck, Ronnie Moss, CJ Jefferson, and Marvin Taylor–is presently on the road performing shows with The O’Jays, Earl Young and the Trammps, The Commodores and Average White Band (AWB). See the tour dates below.

Their first single “That’s What Girls Are Made For” peaked at No. 27 on the Billboard Hot 100 pop chart in 1961. Then, after almost a decade with Motown, THE SPINNERS signed to Atlantic Records in 1973. The group also received a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1976 and the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 1999. THE SPINNERS continue to record music and their cultural impact extends into movies and TV.

UNESCO “Artist of Peace” designees THE HU have become a global sensation with their groundbreaking blend of traditional Mongolian throat singing and native instrumentation with modern western rock which they describe as “hunnu rock.” Their namesake, “Hu,” corresponds to the root of the word “human being” in Mongolian and represents their commitment to spread awareness for cultural diversity, respect for nature and equality for humankind throughout their music. To celebrate World Earth Day (April 22), THE HU have announced plans to plant 12,000 Siberian Elm trees in the desert-barren area of Southeastern Mongolia in the shape of their logo–a one-horned leopard, based off an ancient symbol used by the Hun tribes. The LandArt campaign is in partnership with the environmental institution, SHAMBALE2056 Engineering Campus, LLC, which has been relentlessly working in the area on several restoration projects and eco-friendly irrigation and energy systems. The trees being planted are Siberian Elms due to their strong root system and low water requirements which will help fight the rapid deforestation of the Gobi because of sandstorms and climate change. Digging efforts will begin in May and THE HU will offer fans the opportunity to purchase a tree to help fund the cause, details of which will be announced in the coming weeks.

As midnight strikes in Ulaanbaatar on World Earth Day, THE HU have shared the English-translated lyric video for their environment-focused single “Mother Nature,” taken from the forthcoming deluxe version of their 2022 album RUMBLE OF THUNDER due June 30 via Better Noise Music.

“Everyone in this world belongs to a mother and this song narrates the similarities between one’s relationship with their mother and the connection between humans and the Earth,” describes THE HU. “In a way, Earth is another mother that bore us to this world. In Mongolia, mothers are highly regarded and respected and we believe that even after death, their soul protects their child as their love is limitless.”

To date, THE HU have amassed over 329 million combined streams across digital platforms, 290 million video views, two Top 5 Mainstream Rock charting radio singles, sold-out worldwide headlining tours and appearances at the world’s biggest music festivals (Download, Coachella, Lollapalooza). For the RUMBLE OF THUNDER: DELUXE ALBUM, the band will add four acoustic renditions and three newly recorded singles featuring guest appearances and English vocals from some of the genre’s top acts including William DuVall (Alice In Chains), Serj Tankian (System Of A Down), LP and DL (Bad Wolves). DATE: APRIL 20 ,2023

FROM: MITCH SCHNEIDER/MARCEE RONDAN/ANDREA FAULK

BRIT FLOYD—THE WORLD’S GREATEST PINK FLOYD EXPERIENCE—
CONFIRM TRIUMPHANT RETURN TO HISTORIC
RED ROCKS AMPHITHEATRE
WITH SOLD-OUT
JUNE 9 SHOW

SHOW IS PART OF THE GROUP’S
ONGOING “50 YEARS OF DARK SIDE”
100-DATE 2023 NORTH AMERICAN TOUR

BRIT FLOYD—The World’s Greatest Pink Floyd Experience—have confirmed their annual appearance at the historic RED ROCKS AMPHITHEATRE with a sold-out June 9 show. This marks the group’s 11th consecutive appearance at the venue (with many sold out); their previous appearances at Red Rocks have been captured on a DVD, CD and PBS special. The June 9 performance–produced in partnership with PBS12–is part of Brit Floyd’s “50 Years of Dark Side” ongoing 2023 North American Tour. The 100-date tour kicked off April 12 (see full list of dates below).

“50 Years of Dark Side” celebrates the 50th Anniversary of Pink Floyd’s album masterpiece The Dark Side of the Moon. For this year’s world tour–featuring over two and a half hours of Pink Floyd music encompassing the band’s iconic career–the team have created a show that includes state-of-the-art visuals (lights, lasers and animation) which are all presented with immersive soundscapes and virtuosic musicianship.

Formed in 2011, Brit Floyd features performances supported by an immense, immaculately curated state of the art production, reverently emulating the stunning soundscapes and visuals of Pink Floyd’s iconic catalog. Brit Floyd is a celebration of authenticity, featuring musicians handpicked by Damian Darlington. The 2023 touring band includes Darlington (Guitarist, Vocalist and Musical Director), Ian Cattell (Vocals, Bass), Edo Scordo (Guitars, Vocals), Matt Riddle (Keyboards, Synths, Hammond, Vocals), Arran Ahmun (Drums, Percussions), Ryan Saranich (Saxophone, Percussions, Guitars, Bass, Keyboards), Randy Cooke (Drums and Percussion), Eva Avila (Lead and Backing Vocals), Genevieve Little (Backing Vocals), Jessie Lee Houllier (Backing Vocals) and Chess Galea (Backing Vocals). Historically, the shows have featured guest appearances from musicians from Pink Floyd’s studio and road line-ups: bassist/vocalist Guy Pratt joined Brit Floyd onstage at the Echo Arena in Liverpool in 2013 and Pink Floyd saxophonist/guitarist Scott Page has performed with the band on numerous occasions, as have Pink Floyd backing vocalists Roberta Freeman and Durga McBroom.

The first leg of the 2023 tour dates are as follows with additional shows to be announced in the coming weeks.

Comprised of veterans of all four branches of the military, alternative rock outfit SILENCE & LIGHT were formed out of Raleigh, NC in 2017 by former Army Ranger and Special Forces soldier and rhythm guitarist Jason Everman (ex-Nirvana, Soundgarden) and former Delta Force Operator and lead guitarist Brad Thomas. The band has now announced their sophomore album COULDA, SHOULDA, WOULDA… will be released on June 23 with a portion of profits being donated to non-profit organizations that support veterans and first responders. To date, the band has donated over $5,000 in royalties to organizations including Warrior’s Heart.

The album’s debut single “Slinky” will be available to stream and/or download across digital platforms tomorrow, April 21; pre-save it HERE. SILENCE & LIGHT have shared the music video for “Slinky” today (April 20) which features behind-the-scenes clips taken during the COULDA, SHOULDA, WOULDA… recording sessions with co-producer Dick Hodgin (Hootie & The Blowfish, Corrosion of Conformity). Watch it streaming below or on YouTube HERE.

“’Slinky’ is an angsty but upbeat song that taps into the bands roots in the 1990’s grunge movement,” shared SILENCE & LIGHT collectively. “It’s a sonic throwback.”

SILENCE & LIGHT–which in addition to Everman and Thomas includes former Marine Raider Tyson Stahl on bass, Air Force Chief Master Sergeant Fred Cowell on vocals and Navy veteran Justin Myers on drums—have performed across the US with acts including Lenny Kravitz, Old Dominion Band and Third Eye Blind as well as having appeared at several fundraising concerts for veteran causes. The band will be seen performing at The Eagle’s Dare in downtown Wilmington, NC as part of the city’s “Free Concert Friday” music series on June 23. The show is free and proceeds from the event will be going to support the Marine Raider Foundation.

Lineup (l-r): Kevin Figueiredo, Gary Cherone, Pat Badger, Nuno Bettencourt

Multi-platinum hard rock icons EXTREME’s latest single “Rise” has seen unprecedented success following its debut on March 1 alongside a fiery music video which has received over 2 million views to date. The critically acclaimed song, from their new album SIX out June 9 via earMUSIC, has earned praise from international top tier media outlets including Consequence, Classic Rock, Music Radar and Guitar World in addition to accolades from such fellow musical peers as Brian May and radio personality Howard Stern while peaking at #3 on the Classic Rock charts.

The band—Gary Cherone (vocals), Nuno Bettencourt, Pat Badger (bass), and Kevin Figueiredo (drums)—have today (April 19) shared two new singles along with dazzling videos to accompany each: “Banshee” and “#Rebel.” Watch both streaming below or visit HERE for “Banshee” and HERE for “#REBEL.”

Banshee” is a seductive classic hard rock tune with a chugging rhythm section, playful guitar wizardry and electrifying vocals that testify to the power and inspiration of the female form and spirit.” “#REBEL” takes on scathing so-called keyboard warriors with its head-nodding beat and searing dive bomb lead guitar runs catering to the harder edges of EXTREME’s sound. “We’re calling out those trolls who can’t back up their words,” explains Cherone.

EXTREME are also excited to announce they will bring SIX’s music to audiences across the globe on the “Thicker Than Blood Tour.” The tour will see the band visit North America from August 2-29 and Australia from September 6-13 where they will be joined by special guests Living Colour. EXTREME will also continue to bring the “Thicker Than Blood Tour” to audiences in Japan from September 17-26. Tickets for Japan will go on sale April 22. GA tickets and VIP upgrades–which include access to the band’s soundcheck–for the North American dates will go on sale Friday, April 21 at 10:00 A.M. local time as well as tickets for Australia.

On SIX, EXTREME swing between unapologetic fits of fret-burning hard rock and intimately introspective balladry. For the recording of the Bettencourt-produced 12-track album, the members buckled down at his home studio in Los Angeles to channel the electrifying eclecticism that defined their seminal output with a 21st century twist.

This dynamic affirms the iconic Boston quartet as one of rock’s most unpredictable, undeniable, and unbreakable groups whose songs course through the very fabric of popular culture. They’re the rare band whose music has appeared in an actual cult series a la Bill & Ted as well as the Netflix juggernaut “Stranger Things.” They’ve sold 10 million records, topped the Billboard Hot 100 at #1, packed major venues on multiple continents, memorably performed at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert in London, and regularly average over 5 million monthly listeners on Spotify. However, their dynamic approach hits harder than ever on their 2023 full-length offering, SIX.

“PURE CHANTS” TOUR INTRODUCES

For over 20 years, more than three million people in 31 countries have been enchanted by GREGORIAN’s live performances. These eight classically trained English vocalists have never failed to bring their audiences to their feet…multiple times…at EVERY show.

Nemo Studio is proud to announce that GREGORIAN is bringing its first-ever North American tour to theaters and performing arts centers in the fall of 2023 and spring of 2024, with 30-45 concerts currently being planned in the U.S., Mexico and Latin America, featuring special guest performers Amelia Brightman and sensational male sopranist Narcis.

“It is always a big challenge for an act to tour new markets, “says Michael Kelley, VP Performing Arts, New Frontier Touring. “For me, it is an honor and a privilege to be booking this unique music project for the first time in the US.”

In 1999, the GREGORIAN triumph began with their initial album Masters Of Chant, which earned multiple gold and platinum awards across Europe and Asia.  The project’s creator, renowned producer Frank Peterson, who had previously broken ground as co-creator of the Enigma project, consequently pursued his idea of merging pop/rock music with chorale in the style of medieval chants.

With GREGORIAN, Peterson created and established a unique music genre. GREGORIAN’s 20-year success-story has resulted in more than 10 million albums sold, sold-out arena concerts and a constantly growing worldwide fan base.

Peterson, who has produced all of Sarah Brightman’s albums over the past 30 years and brought Andrea Bocelli to international fame, says, “I am extremely excited about finally touring my pet project GREGORIAN in North America, and I hope that in the next few years we can build an equally ecstatic audience like we did all over Europe and Asia.”

In times that leave little room for reflection, GREGORIAN have become a global phenomenon. Their music and concerts are spiritually uplifting and their unique presentation allows their audience to escape from everyday life in a wondrous way–the current CD PURE CHANTS and the planned World Tour 2023-2024 continues this legacy.

The tour will be supported by the PURE CHANTS I and II album releases, plus GREGORIAN plans to film a spectacular television special in a very unique venue for world-wide broadcast and streaming to support the global tour dates.

Local public television stations have also been supporting the upcoming tour with a broadcast of a television special showcasing some of the best live moments from the European shows over the years, and offering premium items only available via the stations, including VIP concert tickets with a meet & greet, PURE CHANTS I & II box set, PURE CHANTS DVD, and the Gregorian EarBook coffee table book.
