5X Platinum-certified alternative rock mainstays THE RED JUMPSUIT APPARATUS (@redjumpsuitapparatus) released their sixth album X’s For Eyes via Better Noise Music on October 3 along with latest single, “Perfection.” Against the track’s intense driving rhythm and a big, urgent melody, lead vocalist, guitarist, and founding member Ronnie Winter sings “Whatever won’t break can make us” with his signature wide-ranging voice. Today (October 17), they’ve released the song’s evocative video ahead of their two performances this weekend—Saturday, October 18 and Sunday, October 19—at the When We Were Young festival in Las Vegas as part of the band’s nationwide tour. Watch the video HERE.

THE RED JUMPSUIT APPARATUS has teamed up once again with director Shane Drake (Panic! At The Disco, Paramore), who was behind the camera lens for the “False Pretense” and “Your Guardian Angel” videos from the band’s 2006 double-Platinum debut album, DON’T YOU FAKE IT.

“What’s really exciting is that we basically rebuilt the same team for X’s for Eyes that we had when we made DON’T YOU FAKE IT,” says frontman Ronnie Winter. “A lot of the people who were behind the scenes back then–working on things like A&R, mixing, track sequencing, artwork and now videos–have come back together, nearly 20 years later, to be part of this new album. It feels like a reunion in the best possible way. If you were a fan of DON’T YOU FAKE IT, we think you’re going to really love this album.”

In the “Perfection” video, the viewer meets five diverse characters, each of whom are deemed part of society’s marginalized outcasts and who fit neither traditional western nor typical emo cultures, each isolated with X’s painted over their eyes. They are a trans truck mechanic, a disabled rodeo dreamer, an indigenous goth, a queer runaway, and a plus-size punk cowgirl. They’re mysteriously summoned by divine flyers featuring the band’s Alliance logo, which glows with warm light when they touch it, and they immediately realize that they’ve been called to a special performance by the band. There they experience collective awakening, as they simultaneously open their eyes and the X’s disappear, and they discover their chosen family.

Winter points out that “Perfection” is “a song about perfect imperfections, about embracing one’s flaws and the true beauty that lies within. It’s a song about individuality, self-acceptance, and the idea that our scars and imperfections make us who we are. Through the lens of perfectly imperfect, what some might consider to be mistakes, flaws, and shortcomings suddenly become good, beautiful, even desirable. It’s a reminder,” he adds, “that being perfectly imperfect is something not to hide but to celebrate.”

Perfection” follows the release of three singles from X’s For Eyes: “Home Improvement,” “Slipping Through (No Kings),” and “X’s For Eyes.” Stream/purchase X’s For Eyes HERE.

The 11 songs on X’s For Eyes find the band revving up their caffeinated pop sensibilities, throwing down the punishing riffola, delivering more electronic and ambient flourishes, and topping all of it off with Winter’s high-pitched emoting. Factor in some hair-raising cameos from Sleeping With Sirens’ Kellin Quinn (“Always The King”) and Escape The Fate frontman Craig Mabbitt (“Worth It”) and the result is genuinely RJA’s most strident full-length offering yet.

Formed in 2004 in Jacksonville, FL, the band has accrued Gold and multi-Platinum singles—including their massive 5x Platinum hit single “Face Down” (which has over 176 million views on YouTube), 2x PlatinumYour Guardian Angel” (which has over 37 million views on YouTube)—and 2x Platinum-certified debut album, DON’T YOU FAKE IT, alongside numerous high-ranking radio chart positions and a robust digital history of over 1.5 billion career streams. Sometimes it’s hard to believe that THE RED JUMPSUIT APPARATUS began their expedition into the hearts and minds of a generation 20 years ago. Their blazing 2006 single “Face Down” delivered both anthemic choruses and a strident message about domestic abuse, achieving both sales accolades and adoration from crowds all over the planet.

THE RED JUMPSUIT APPARATUS is currently on their nationwide headlining tour. Before the When We Were Young festival kick-off, tonight (Friday, October 17) at 7pm at The Punk Rock Museum in Las Vegas (included with a GA ticket), Ronnie Winter will be part of a roundtable discussion moderated by Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman along with Todd Morse (H2O, The Offspring), Vinnie Fiorello (Less Than Jake), Erik “Smelly” Sandin (NOFX), Chris DeMakes (Less Than Jake), and Jaret Reddick (Bowling for Soup) about their experiences performing at Warped Tour over the years. Kevin Lyman is bringing together iconic voices to also raise awareness and donations for his foundation, Unite The United Foundation. The foundation’s mission is to encourage and support fans, artists, and industry leaders from the music, touring, and action sports worlds to work toward positive change in their local community by supporting local charities, producing fundraising events, and participating in community volunteerism across the United States.

“Harder than drugs
I don’t need protection
This is my confession
I don’t do perfection”
“Perfection,” written by Ronnie Winter

5X Platinum-certified alternative rock mainstays THE RED JUMPSUIT APPARATUS (@redjumpsuitapparatus) today (October 3) release their sixth album X’s For Eyes via Better Noise Music and latest single and video, “Perfection.” Against an intense driving rhythm and a big, urgent melody, lead vocalist, guitarist, and founding member Ronnie Winter candidly lays his cards on the table, singing “I like stormy weather” and that “Whatever won’t break can make us” with his signature wide-ranging voice.

X’s For Eyes marks the first full-length album from THE RED JUMPSUIT APPARATUS—vocalist Ronnie Winter, his multi-instrumentalist brother Randy Winter, guitarist Josh Burke, bassist Joey Westwood, drummer John Espy, keyboardist Nadeem Salam, and newest member K Enagonio on vocals—as part of a new partnership with Better Noise Music.

“I think that anybody who’s been with us the whole time realizes that we’ve been an activist band since 2006,” Winter says. “So when I see X’s for eyes, it reminds me of the childhood cartoons, the video games—all those things where this is what happens when you don’t do the right thing. You see that character that you know and love, but for three seconds with a bunch of swirling birds over their head and they’ve got X’s for eyes because they made a mistake. They trusted the wrong person, they went in the wrong direction, they chose the wrong path and then POW! Something crazy happens and there’s X’s for eyes, or ‘RIP.’ And I just find that has a parallel reality to now.”

He continues, “In 2006, we put a song out called ‘Face Down,’ which was an anti-domestic violence song, which we then toured the country doing everything we could to raise awareness against domestic violence. So that was with song one. And then in 2025, we’re just still continuing that narrative of social justice: doing the right thing, treating women properly, as well as men. Just the mistreatment of others. We’ve broadened that. We’ve broadened that scope. Racism, homophobia—we try to touch on everything that we wanted to make sure our fans who are coming to our show know that we stand behind. And I think we did that. I really do.”

Perfection” follows the release of three singles from X’s For Eyes: “Home Improvement,” “Slipping Through (No Kings),” and “X’s For Eyes.”

5X Platinum-certified alternative rock mainstays THE RED JUMPSUIT APPARATUS (@redjumpsuitapparatus) today (August 8) have released “X’s For Eyes,” the second single from their forthcoming album X’s For Eyes out October 3 via Better Noise Music. The guitars hit hard, the melody soars, and the rhythm jumps fast in this riveting song that extends a helping hand to someone who’s living close to the edge. With his signature wide-ranging voice, lead vocalist, guitarist, and founding member Ronnie Winter digs in deep with lyrics like: “Do you want to be right, or do you want to be happy?/Cause I’m scared you’re gonna die/Take control of your life/Wake up from this bad dream/You could end it all tonight.” Listen to the song HERE and watch the video HERE. Pre-orders for the album are now available HERE.

X’s For Eyes is the first full-length album from THE RED JUMPSUIT APPARATUS—vocalist Ronnie Winter, his multi-instrumentalist brother Randy Winter, guitarist Josh Burke, bassist Joey Westwood, drummer John Espy, keyboardist Nadeem Salam, and newest member K Enagonio on vocals—as part of a new partnership with Better Noise Music.

To write the title track, Winter reteamed with producer and songwriter Matt Squire (Panic! at the Disco, Metallica, Good Charlotte), who first worked with the band on “Slipping Through (No Kings)” that came out June 27. The urgent and impassioned rallying cry—written by Winter and Squire—compellingly looks at the societal chaos gripping America right now. Listen to “Slipping Through (No Kings)HERE and watch the starkly animated video, set in the last days of an authoritarian society, HERE.

“What’s really exciting is that we basically rebuilt the same team for X’s for Eyes that we had when we made DON’T YOU FAKE IT,” says Winter. “A lot of the people who were behind the scenes back then–working on things like mixing, track sequencing, and artwork–have come back together, nearly 20 years later, to be part of this new album. It feels like a reunion in the best possible way, and if you were a fan of DON’T YOU FAKE IT we think you’re going to really love this album.”

X’s for Eyes truly has something for everyone,” he adds, “including what came to be known as ‘The Lost Songs,’ songs from our original 2004 pre-signing demo that didn’t make it onto DON’T YOU FAKE IT. Fans have been asking for these for over 20 years and with the new album, they’re being commercially released for the first time ever. It felt like we were digging up something long buried, like raising a zombie from the dead.”

The video for “Slipping Through (No Kings),” directed by Steve Tramposch and Jamie Lewis, first introduced the concept of “X’s For Eyes.” In the clip, there is destruction everywhere in a world devoid of color. The main characters—“X boy” and “X girl”—watch as their friends and loved ones are snatched off the streets by masked men in menacing dark cars. The characters have X’s for eyes symbolizing their disillusionment, while others also have X’s for mouths, symbolizing that they’ve been quieted and have lost their voice. “X boy” and “X girl” are left to navigate the rubble and fend for themselves. An Alliance flag, the symbol of their rebellion (and the band’s fan community) is planted in the rubble at the end and the video turns from black and white to full color. The eyes of “X boy” and “X girl” return to full circles to emphasize their awakening and solidarity. These are the youth of the world planting their flag with open eyes after there’s nothing left.

“Slipping Through (No Kings)” marked the third new music offering from THE RED JUMPSUIT APPARATUS since their EMERGENCY EP in 2020. They previously released “Home Improvement” (which has logged over 363k YouTube views) at the time of last October’s announcement of their signing to premiere independent music label Better Noise Music.

Formed in 2004 in Jacksonville, FL, the band has accrued Gold and multi-Platinum singles—including their massive 5x Platinum hit single “Face Down,” 2x PlatinumYour Guardian Angel”—and 2x Platinum-certified debut album, DON’T YOU FAKE IT, alongside numerous high-ranking radio chart positions and a robust digital history of over 1.5 billion career streams.

“It’s kind of surreal — I’ve been in a band professionally for 20 years now,” explains Ronnie Winter, “and all that time I wanted to work with Matt Squire but never got the chance. Back in 2005, when we were just starting to record our first album, he was already a major force in the emo scene. So to be collaborating with him now, all these years later, feels like coming full circle. I’m just really grateful we get to explore something new with him this far into our career, especially something I dreamed of doing from the very start.”

I said it before, I’ll say it again
If we don’t change something, then we wind up dead
Is this the end? Or is tomorrow
Slipping through our hands
Slipping Through (No Kings)

5X Platinum-certified alternative rock mainstays THE RED JUMPSUIT APPARATUS have today (June 27) released “Slipping Through (No Kings),” their latest single and video for Better Noise Music. The urgent and impassioned rallying cry—written by lead vocalist, guitarist and founding member Ronnie Winter with producer and songwriter Matt Squire—compellingly looks at the societal chaos gripping America right now.

Listen to the song HERE and watch the starkly animated video, set in the last days of an authoritarian society, HERE.

“It’s about what’s going on in our country. The destruction of it. Everything we ever stood for is ‘slipping through,’” says Ronnie Winter. “It all began with Matt Squire and I working together in Los Angeles. He played me the track, and it immediately hit me. I knew this was the moment to say something about what’s really going on and happening in our city. To put it simply,” adds Ronnie, who lives in Los Angeles, “my neighbors are disappearing. Families are being torn apart. And our community has reached a breaking point. These aren’t strangers, they’re our friends, our loved ones. They’re not immigrants to us, they’re neighbors. And like Jesus said, ‘Love thy neighbor.’ That’s what this song is about.”

In the “Slipping Through (No Kings)” video, directed by Steve Tramposch and Jamie Lewis, there is destruction everywhere in a world devoid of color. The eyes of “X boy” and “X girl” return to full circles to emphasize their awakening and solidarity. These are the youth of the world planting their flag with open eyes after there’s nothing left.

“Slipping Through (No Kings)” marks the second new music offering from THE RED JUMPSUIT APPARATUS—lead vocalist, guitarist and founding member Ronnie Winter, his multi-instrumentalist brother Randy Winter, guitarist Josh Burke, bassist Joey Westwood, drummer John Espy, and touring keyboardist Nadeem Salam—since their EMERGENCY EP in 2020. They previously released “Home Improvement” (which has accrued over 363k YouTube views) at the time of last October’s announcement of their signing to premiere independent music label Better Noise Music.

5X Platinum-certified alternative rock mainstays THE RED JUMPSUIT APPARATUS are excited to announce their signing to premiere independent music label Better Noise Music. Formed in 2004 in Jacksonville, FL, the band has accrued Gold and multi-Platinum singles—including their massive 5x Platinum hit single “Face Down” and “Your Guardian Angel”—and 2X Platinum-certified debut album, Don’t You Fake It, alongside numerous high-ranking radio chart positions and a robust digital history of 1.4 billion career streams.

BETTER NOISE MUSIC President / COO Steve Kline remarks on the band’s signing: “We’re excited to partner with The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus on their next release. The timing is perfect, allowing longtime fans to dive into new music while creating a platform for new listeners to discover the awesome songs from the band’s upcoming album.”

THE RED JUMPSUIT APPARATUS—lead vocalist, guitarist and founding member Ronnie Winter, his multi-instrumentalist brother Randy Winter, guitarist Josh Burke, bassist Joey Westwood, drummer John Esp, and touring keyboardist Nadeem Salam, — have today released a new recording of their previously unreleased song “Home Improvement.” “Home Improvement” was one of the band’s “lost” tracks which were originally recorded prior to the sessions for their debut album but didn’t make the cut and have only existed as demos found on YouTube. These songs, along with new material, will be released on their new album due in Spring of 2025 via Better Noise Music.

Ronnie elaborates: “In 2004, as a local, unsigned band out of Jacksonville, Florida, we recorded a batch of demos that we posted on social media and passed around everywhere we could, later these were known to fans as our self-titled album. This led to our first major label signing in fall of 2005. We wasted little time getting into the studio to give these songs a fresh new recording and that became the basis for our now 2X Platinum-certified debut album ‘Don’t You Fake It.’ Some of these songs didn’t make the cut due to studio time, album length, and whatnot. Over the years with file trading and YouTube, these demos found their way across the internet and became fan favorites in their own right, and became known as ‘The Lost Songs.’ Fans traded and would beg us to release them, as they were never officially released on streaming platforms.”

What’s old is new again,” Winters announces. “We have reteamed with many of those involved with ‘Don’t You Fake It’ for our upcoming album and we’re stoked to finally officially release a new recording of ‘Home Improvement’—a song about heartache and the ambivalence of love. It’s been one of the most requested of ‘The Lost Songs’ and will be released digitally for the first time-ever through our new record label, Better Noise Music. This isn’t nostalgia, this is right now, and there’s much more to come!
