Finnish 6x Platinum and 8x Gold-certified, record-breaking rockers THE RASMUS (@therasmusofficial) have teamed with Theory of A Deadman’s lead singer Tyler Connolly to release an exciting new version of THE RASMUS’ powerful outsider anthem “Creatures of Chaos.” Out today (October 10), this notably marks THE RASMUS’ first US rock radio single. Listen to the song HERE and watch the lyric video HERE.

Back in March, THE RASMUSLauri Ylönen (vocals), Emppu Suhonen (guitars), Eero Heinonen (bass), and Aki Hakala (drums)—originally released “Creatures of Chaos.” The track was the second single from their 11th studio album, WEIRDO, which arrived September 12 via Better Noise Music (the band’s first for the label) and Playground Music. The album, as well as limited-edition merchandise bundles, are available now HERE.

”Tyler [Connolly] is an amazing singer and he added a new dimension to the song,” says frontman Lauri Ylönen. “This song is one of our best from the new album and it’s so cool that it gets some spotlight now.”

Tyler Connolly shares: “I got asked to guest sing on this Rasmus song and once I heard it, I was like, ‘Heck Yeah’!  Loved the track and love the band! Really enjoyed the back-and-forth verses between us, and it truly rocks! Now I got to get myself to Finland!!!”

Lauri explains that “Creatures of Chaos” is a “global shout out and an invitation to all misfits and anyone out there who’s ever felt like an outsider to join us! It was one of the first songs, and that’s kind of how the album title came about. It’s also about accepting people as they are, which in this world is getting much harder for people to do. For me, it’s more personal: I sing like I could have been a soldier, but I’m afraid of guns. I could have been this or that, but I wasn’t strong enough to be those. My job is to do this. And I’m singing to one fan in the front row, giving her or him strength to carry on. It’s another kind of hero.”

Creatures of Chaos” is “also about the pressure of social media,” elaborates Lauri. “People feel like by 25 they need to have money, investments, be somebody. A lot of people are scared of growing up. I’ve always gained strength from being the underdog, and I love that. It keeps me going.”

Meanwhile, earlier this summer (on July 19), THE RASMUS performed as the headliner—and only foreign artist—of the Atlas Festival in war-torn Ukraine. They became an ambassador for the Good Donations charity fund, and along with the Atlas Festival and Blockbuster Mall (where the festival was held), they ultimately raised over 3.5 million hryvnias ($84,000) which was turned into a donation of special surgical instruments for the Okhmatdyt National Children’s Specialized Hospital. The funds were used to order and purchase modern, high-quality surgical kits from Germany. This equipment has already been delivered to Ukraine and handed over to doctors at the Okhmatdyt National Children’s Specialized Hospital. THE RASMUS released a short documentary film, “The Rasmus in Ukraine,” about their time in the country on September 26. Watch it HERE.

THE RASMUS are known for their artful mix of musically dark atmospheres, catchy modern pop stylings, and stadium-sized guitar crunch. They marked the September 12 release of WEIRDO by teaming up with The Funeral Portrait singer Lee Jennings for the title track and accompanying video. Static Noise Mag called WEIRDO “…one of their best records yet. There are so many layers to this record, it blends a modern rock edge with flashes of 80s-inspired synths, creating a sound that feels both nostalgic and fresh…Taken as a whole, WEIRDO is solid from start to finish, an album that fuses nostalgic echoes of THE RASMUS’ early 2000s sound with modern rock production and flashes of ‘80s-inspired synth. Every track feels alive with creative, sharply written lyrics and the kind of emotional depth the band has always excelled at. It’s a record that proves THE RASMUS are still evolving while staying true to their roots, and it leaves you immediately wanting more.”

THE RASMUS will bring their unforgettable stage show to audiences worldwide throughout 2025 on the “Weirdo Tour”; shows for 2026 are starting to be confirmed. The band recently concluded a month-long U.S. trek with The Funeral Portrait and their own North American headlining tour. Tickets are on sale now for its European leg (9/12 – 12/6), as well as their 2026 shows; see the full dates listed below.

It is often said that the best bands are the ones which keep surprising you time and time again, in the most thrilling of ways. This is something that the 6x Platinum and 8x Gold-certified band have been doing since their major label debut and a creative responsibility they take great pride in. If you’ve listened to any of their albums, you’ll be able to hear a kaleidoscopic collage of heavy guitars against futuristic electronics, as well as pop hooks that can find their way into the heart of any kind of music fan. Earlier this summer (on July 19), Finnish 6x Platinum and 8x Gold-certified, record-breaking rockers THE RASMUS performed as the headliner—and only foreign artist—of the Atlas Festival in war-torn Ukraine.

THE RASMUS today (September 26) released a short documentary film, “The Rasmus in Ukraine,” about their time in the country. Watch it HERE. The income generated from YouTube will be donated to The Good Donations Foundation.

The funds were used to order and purchase modern, high-quality surgical kits from Germany. This equipment has already been delivered to Ukraine and handed over to doctors at the Okhmatdyt National Children’s Specialized Hospital. For medical professionals who save children’s lives every day, the quality and reliability of instruments is crucial. The official handover of the instruments took place yesterday (September 25). Despite being on tour promoting their new album WEIRDO (Better Noise Music), THE RASMUS joined the event online and spoke personally with the team of doctors at the hospital.

As headliners of the festival, THE RASMUSLauri Ylönen (vocals), Emppu Suhonen (guitars), Eero Heinonen (bass), and Aki Hakala (drums)—not only performed on stage but also took part in charity activities such as autograph sessions, raffles of unique merchandise bundles, and a personal visit to the hospital. During the meeting with the doctors, the musicians emphasized that “The doctors who work here are real heroes. They provide assistance even during air raid sirens and rocket attacks. We were impressed by their professionalism. It is very important that they have equipment that matches their level. Because these doctors can do even more if they have everything they need.”

The Good Donations Foundation expresses its sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed to the collection: “Together, we were able to give doctors instruments that give children a chance at life and hope to their families.”

Over 110,000 people attended the festival. It had a comprehensive security system and it was prepared to evacuate the audience and performers in just a few minutes if necessary. Before the event, frontman Lauri Ylönen had said, “It’s scary to play in the middle of war, but we want to show our support for the Ukrainian people. We have a massive fan base in Ukraine and we’ve also previously done a joint song with the Ukrainian Eurovision winner Kalush Orchestra.”

The band recently released their highly anticipated 11th studio album, WEIRDO, on September 12 via Better Noise Music (the band’s first for the label) and Playground Music. The album, as well as limited-edition merchandise bundles, are available HERE. Later this year, THE RASMUS will bring their unforgettable stage show to audiences worldwide throughout 2025 on the “Weirdo Tour” and shows for 2026 are starting to be confirmed. The band recently concluded a month-long U.S. trek with The Funeral Portrait and their own North American headlining tour. ABOUT ATLAS FESTIVAL

The first edition of Atlas festival dates back to 2015 and ran successfully until 2019. In 2024 the organizers bravely brought it back, creating the biggest music event to take place in Ukraine since the invasion started, with 63,000 people in 3 days. The festival had a robust safety framework to ensure the artists’ and audience’s safety. The new venue – Blockbuster Mall – has the biggest underground parking in all of Ukraine (50000 m2), which can quickly become a shelter. In fact, in case of alarm, the entire festival can be evacuated to the shelter in a matter of minutes. The organizers worked and continue to work with the State Emergency Services, regional military administration and city administration to ensure the mitigation of all risks and the preparation for any threats without any danger to the people.

The festival entirely revolves around a big charity goal – to raise 100mln UAH (2.3 M EUR) to help the country. In 2024 Atlas Festival reached the goal with the help of its audience, artists, influencers and everyone who was involved. The whole festival was built around raising these funds with the help of our artist, sponsors, audience and all the country’s volunteers, influencers and opinion leaders. In 2025, it managed to surpass the previous year’s result and raised over 125mln UAH (2.5m EUR).

It’s been almost a year since 6x Platinum and 8x Gold-certified, record-breaking Finnish rock outfit THE RASMUS (@therasmusofficial) released the first single (“Rest In Pieces” on October 24, 2024) from their highly anticipated 11th studio album, WEIRDO, which finally arrives today (September 12) via Better Noise Music (their first for the label) and Playground Music. The album, as well as limited-edition merchandise bundles, are available now HERE.

Known for their musically dark atmospheres, the band subversively merges catchy modern pop stylings with stadium-sized guitar crunch throughout the songs on WEIRDO.

“I find it comforting that our 11th album, WEIRDO, has pretty much the same message as on our first album released in 1996,” explains frontman Lauri Ylönen. “It is to defend and praise the ones who are different from the masses and proudly being themselves as they are. It has been our philosophy from the very beginning.”

Ylönen further explains the power behind being a “weirdo.” “In this society I’ve always felt that I’ve had to prove myself for being the way I am or doing the things I do. I’ve always felt like an outsider not fitting the norm. I’ve been called a weirdo, misfit and a freak. That used to make me angry—but not anymore. It’s become my source of strength and confidence. I’ve realized the power of it. All the people I find exciting and inspiring are somehow strange. We, the Weirdos, unite and feed off people’s judging attitudes. The fact is they’re just afraid of us. Afraid of our capability to create new and change the future. Are you a Weirdo? Join us…”

To celebrate today’s album release, THE RASMUS is excited to share the title track with their legions of fans, especially since they teamed up with The Funeral Portrait singer Lee Jennings for song and accompanying video which can be seen now on the band’s official YouTube page HERE.

“‘Weirdo’ was the first song we wrote and it shaped the concept for the entire album,” says Ylönen. “It celebrates being different and individual. Since the first song I ever wrote in 1994 called ‘Myself,’ I’ve felt like an outcast and someone who doesn’t quite fit in.”

“Being a part of ‘Weirdo’ with The Rasmus has been incredible,” continues The Funeral Portrait singer Lee Jennings. “It’s an anthem for the outcasts, and I’m beyond proud of how it turned out. Working with such an iconic band has been awesome, and now we’re hitting the road together across Europe. Get ready! The Funeral Portrait and The Rasmus are coming to represent all of the Weirdos across Europe this November.”

The “‘Weirdo” single release is the follow up to “Love Is A Bitch” (released July 11 and described by lead singer Lauri Ylönen as a “wildcard” track for the band), which can be streamed and downloaded HERE, while the video can be seen on the band’s official YouTube page HERE (which has over 100k views).

The fourth single,Break These Chains,” was released May 16 along with the “Break These Chains” video, which has since garnered over 812k views, while Creatures of Chaosarrived March 28, with the video racking up over 875k views. The album’s first single, Rest In Pieces,” was rolled out on October 25, 2024, paired with a lyric video which now has amassed over 668k views.

Most of the songs on WEIRDO were written by Lauri Ylönen, Desmond Child (who contributed to the band’s BLACK ROSES and RISE albums and has worked with Bon Jovi, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, among countless others) and Marti Fredriksen (Aerosmith, Ozzy Osbourne, Black Veil Brides) in Folegandros, Greece. That’s where Lauri and Desmond met up to work on material that Lauri brought. THE RASMUS then did full band demos of all the tracks in Finland in July 2023, with production led by Frederiksen and Child.

Later, they finalized the songs and recorded the album with the whole band in Marti Fredriksen‘s Sienna Studios in Nashville. Some of the tracks were mixed by Fredriksen in Nashville, assisted by Evan Fredriksen, while other mixes were done by Chris Baseford (Nickelback, Shinedown, Daughtry) in Vancouver, Canada and by Claudius Mittendorfer (Panic! At The Disco, We Are Scientists) in London, and Joseph McQueen (Bad Wolves, As I Lay Dying, From Ashes To New) in Los Angeles. Additional production by McQueen injects a fresh intensity into tracks like “Creatures of Chaos” and “Break These Chains,” while Ylönen himself takes the helm on “Rest in Pieces” alongside Alex Mattson.

Last month (on July 19), The Rasmus played a charity concert in Ukraine on as the headliner of the Atlas Festival, as the only foreign artist at the event. Over 110,000 people were in attendance, and there was a comprehensive security system and evacuation plan for the audience and performers in just a few minutes if it was necessary. Thankfully the festival went off without any issues and they were able to raise over $2.5 million Ukraine’s air defenses. Last year, the festival raised over two million euros. The artists can choose to direct their charitable funds to any Ukraine-related cause, such as supporting children’s hospitals, purchasing ambulances, or helping combat medical personnel.

“Going back to Ukraine really hit us hard. The people there are just incredible,” says Lauri Ylönen. “Their strength, their spirit, the way they come together…it’s powerful to see and even more powerful to feel. We also got to catch up with Kalush Orchestra, which was great! Playing ‘In The Shadows of Ukraine’ with all those people in front of us—that’s the kind of thing you never forget.”

THE RASMUS will bring their unforgettable stage show to audiences worldwide in 2025 on the “Weirdo Tour,” shows for 2026 are starting to be confirmed. They recently concluded a month-long U.S. trek with The Funeral Portrait and their own North American headlining tour. Tickets are on sale now for its European leg (9/12 – 12/6), while tickets for their 2026 shows will go on-sale July 17; see the full dates listed below.

Melodicmag.com described a recent tour stop in Boston as having, “…a special energy throughout the night, as the band mentioned many times how happy and fortunate they felt to finally be playing in Boston…It is safe to say The Rasmus gifted their loyal fans with a jam-packed show that is sure to be unforgettable.”

With their new album WEIRDO, THE RASMUS once again proves why they remain a force to be reckoned with in the rock world. In their native Finland, where they are the reigning #1 rock band, THE RASMUS stands at #1 on Spotify, YouTube, Instagram and Deezer as far as followers, views, likes and streams. 6x Platinum and 8x Gold-certified, record-breaking Finnish rock outfit THE RASMUS has today (July 11, via Better Noise Music and Playground Music) released “Love Is A Bitch,” described by lead singer Lauri Ylönen as a “wildcard” track for the band. Known for their musically dark atmospheres, the band subversively merges catchy modern pop stylings with stadium-sized guitar crunch in this sardonic song about relationships.

“‘This song was always a wildcard,” says singer Ylönen. “It never fit with the rest of the songs. Still, we thought it was a fun song to play and I’m glad we decided to put it on the album. Lyrically, it’s about someone who’s treating you like shit but is too good in bed to let go.”

“Love Is A Bitch” is taken from the album WEIRDO. It arrives September 12, marking THE RASMUS’ 11th studio album and first for Better Noise Music. Listen to “Love Is A BitchHERE and watch the video on the band’s official YouTube page HERE. Pre-orders and limited-edition merchandise bundles are available now HERE.

Love Is A Bitch” is the follow-up toBreak These Chains,” released May 16 along with the “Break These Chains” video, which has since garnered over 508k views, while Creatures of Chaosarrived March 28, with the video racking up over 771k views. The album’s first single, Rest In Pieces,” was rolled out on October 25, 2024, paired with a lyric video which now has amassed over 620k views.

Later, they finalized the songs and recorded the album with the whole band in Marti Fredriksen’s Sienna Studios in Nashville.

“I find it comforting that our 11th album, WEIRDO, has pretty much the same message as on our first album released in 1996,” says Lauri. “It is to defend and praise the ones who are different from the masses and proudly being themselves as they are. It has been our philosophy from the very beginning.”

Ylönen explains the power behind being a “weirdo.” “In this society I’ve always felt that I’ve had to prove myself for being the way I am or doing the things I do. Join us…”

Melodicmag.com described last month’s tour stop in Boston as having, “…a special energy throughout the night, as the band mentioned many times how happy and fortunate they felt to finally be playing in Boston…It is safe to say The Rasmus gifted their loyal fans with a jam-packed show that is sure to be unforgettable.”

Meanwhile, The Rasmus will play a charity concert in Ukraine on July 19 as the headliner of the Atlas Festival, as the only foreign artist at the event. The band wants to do their part to help Ukraine. Over 60,000 people are expected to be in attendance, and there will be a comprehensive security system and evacuation plan for the audience and performers in just a few minutes if necessary. Last year, the festival raised over two million euros for charity. The artists can choose to direct their charitable funds to any Ukraine-related cause, such as supporting children’s hospitals, purchasing ambulances, or helping combat medical personnel.

“It’s scary to play in the middle of war, but we want to show our support for the Ukrainian people,” says Lauri Ylönen. We have a massive fan base in Ukraine and we’ve also previously done a joint song with the Ukrainian Eurovision winner Kalush Orchestra.”

As a direct result, they’ve become one of Finland’s greatest musical exports, selling millions of records worldwide and winning award after award.

With its uncompromising vision and unapologetic message, WEIRDO is poised to be THE RASMUS’ most ambitious and impactful album yet. Here’s the album’s track list:

6x Platinum and 8x Gold-certified, record-breaking Finnish rock outfit THE RASMUS hold nothing back on their new track, the toxic love-themed “Break These Chains” ft. Niko Vilhelm of Blind Channel. It’s out today (May 16) via Better Noise Music and Playground Music. Driven by the band’s signature blend of dark atmospheres and anthemic melodies, the emotionally gripping song is taken from the album WEIRDO. It arrives September 12, marking their 11th studio album and first for Better Noise Music. Pre-orders and limited edition merchandise bundles are available now HERE.

Listen to “Break These Chains” HERE and watch the video, directed by Aleksei Kulikov, HERE on the band’s official YouTube page.

“‘Break These Chains’ is about a toxic relationship,” says singer Lauri Ylönen, who digs his teeth into such lethal lyrics as “You made me believe/That true passion makes you bleed/So I stayed too long/To play your twisted games.” Lauri wrote the song with revered hit songwriters/producers Marti Frederiksen and Desmond Child. “It’s about letting go of something that you know is bad for you, but you’re obsessed with.”

For “Break These Chains,” THE RASMUS called on Niko Vilhelm (of the Finnish Nu Metal band Blind Channel) to make a special guest vocal appearance. “The Rasmus are heroes of mine, so obviously I was excited when Lauri called me and asked me to be a part of this song. Even more so when I heard the track. The heavier sound suits them soooo well. I’m so hyped about where they’re headed and what’s to come.”

Later, they finalized the songs and recorded the album with the whole band in Marti Fredriksen’s Sienna Studios in Nashville.

The album’s second single Creatures of Chaosarrived March 28, with the video racking up over 521k views. It followed the album’s first single Rest In Pieces,” released October 25, 2024, paired with a lyric video which now has amassed over 556k views.

“I find it comforting that our 11th album, WEIRDO, has pretty much the same message as on our first album released in 1996,” says Lauri. “It is to defend and praise the ones who are different from the masses and proudly being themselves as they are. Afraid of our capability to create new and change the future. Are you a Weirdo? Join us…”

THE RASMUS will bring their unforgettable stage show to audiences worldwide in 2025 on the “Weirdo Tour.” They recently concluded a month-long U.S. trek with The Funeral Portrait, and are now in the midst of their own North American headlining tour, which kicked off May 3 in Atlanta, GA. Tickets are on sale now for its European leg (9/12 – 12/6); see the full dates listed below.

“It’s been a while since we went on tour, so we’re really excited to be heading out all over the world in 2025,” exclaims Lauri Ylönen. “It’s shaping up to be a massive tour and there’s more dates to come. We can’t wait to hang out with our fans. It’s going to be fun to see them again, we’re like family.”

Meanwhile, The Rasmus will play a charity concert in Ukraine on July 19 as the headliner of the Atlas Festival, as the only foreign artist at the event.

Finnish 6x Platinum and 8x Gold-certified, record-breaking rock outfit The Rasmus are back with their electrifying new single, “Creatures of Chaos,” released today (March 28) on all digital outlets via Better Noise Music and Playground Music. With their signature blend of dark atmospheres and anthemic melodies, the band once again proves why they remain a force to be reckoned with in the rock world. In their native Finland, where they are the reigning #1 rock band, The Rasmus stands at #1 on Spotify, YouTube, Instagram and Deezer as far as followers, views, likes and streams.

The video for “Creatures of Chaos” can be seen on the band’s official YouTube page HERE.

At its core, “Creatures of Chaos” is an anthem for outsiders, a rallying cry for anyone who has ever felt like they don’t belong. “‘Creatures of Chaos’ is a global invitation to all misfits and anyone out there who’s ever felt like an outsider to join us!” exclaims frontman Lauri Ylönen. “The world is such a messed up place right now. I felt like going harder musically to match my feelings of being lost, scared and uncomfortable. People are so divided with their opinions that I find myself looking for hope and unity out of people like myself. It’s important to belong somewhere and take a stand with your opinions. ‘Creatures of Chaos’ is a shout-out to all people like us to come together.”

The song was written by Lauri together with Desmond Child and Marti Fredriksen, Child having worked together with the band on the previous albums Black Roses and Rise. Creatures of Chaos was tracked at Fredriksen’s Sienna Studios in Nashville. Joseph McQueen did some additional production and mixed and mastered the track at Sparrow Sound in Los Angeles.

Packed with driving riffs, anthemic hooks, and raw emotion, the song channels the spirit of rebellion and unity that has always been at the heart of The Rasmus’ music. The song was written by Lauri along with renowned songwriter Desmond Child (who contributed to the band’s BLACK ROSES and RISE albums and has worked with Bon Jovi, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, Aerosmith,  Alice Cooper, among with countless others), and Marti Fredriksen (Aerosmith). Tracked at Fredriksen’s Sienna Studios in Nashville and produced by Marti Frederiksen and Desmond Child, with additional production by Joseph McQueen, it captures the band at their most dynamic and urgent.

“Creatures of Chaos” is the follow-up to “Rest In Pieces,” which was released October 25, 2024 via Better Noise Music along with a lyric video that can be seen HERE (which currently has over 478k views). Fans can listen to it via their preferred streaming platform HERE.

With their signature blend of dark atmospheres and anthemic melodies, the band once again proves why they remain an aesthetic force to be reckoned with in the rock world. The Rasmus have also generated an impressive 829 million global career streams.

Out today, October 25, digitally, the band have also shared its lyric video, seen streaming below or HERE. Listen now via your preferred streaming platform HERE.

Rest In Pieces” is an irresistibly heavy, dark and melodic song, marking the start of the next chapter in THE RASMUS’ sonic evolution with a sense of fearless bravado and world-conquering intensity. Its hard-hitting and unapologetic lyrics stem from a place of anger and betrayal. Founder, frontman, and lead singer-songwriter Lauri Ylönen shares: “This all started very organically, the story behind the music is that I was betrayed by a friend. I was sad and pissed off at the same time. I wanted to channel my frustration into the music and create what I call a ‘f*ck you song’ for revenge.”

That’s usually the best thing for any artist or creator to do in that situation,” he continues. “You take the emotion and turn it into something powerful. There’s an impulse that comes through and you find the strength to capture it in the form of music to make art. It might seem negative at first, but I wanted this song to also feel empowering to anyone who hears it. There’s that uplifting thing that we do. I would say ‘Rest In Pieces’ is very positive amongst all the intensity.”
