Q:  Can you walk us through the special chemistry you all share and what makes this tour so special?

JON WELLINGTON (JW):  This tour is special because it is completely organic.  None of this was planned–not even by us.  We originally just wanted to hang out together in Nashville and do Creator stuff, but our wives didn’t want to pay for the trip, so they rented out a comedy club and made us perform…the rest is history!  We each come from a different background with different life experiences, which when combined into one show gives the audience a diverse perspective on the GenX Life, our experiences, and what is coming next for us in life!

Q:  Each of you bring a unique perspective with your life observations, which is what makes the shows so compelling.  What is the one subject you cover every night in your set?

(JW):  In my set, I go into detail about the false sense of security that our generation has about being immune to FAFO.  We have survived hose water, sketchy bike ramps, being left alone at a very young age, and we have a false confidence that we are invincible as adults…but we aren’t.  I share the reality of how FAFO changes for us as we get older, and how we aren’t as immune as we thought we are.

Q:  What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?  Also, what’s the one piece of advice you would give to someone entering the next stage of life?

(JW):  An Italian man once told me “It is Notta Bigga Deal” (Italian hand gesture implied), which sounds simple, but in reality has become a mantra for me in life.  Whatever challenge I face, whatever difficult decision I have in life, I always remember that in the grand scheme of things, I will look back at that moment and realize “It was Notta Bigga Deal.”  With that, I can make most decisions or challenges in life pretty simple. 

For people moving into the next stage of life?  “Take the Risk.”   I have got where I am in life because I have always Taken the Risk–in jobs, in life, in doing things that people say can’t be done, or that some would consider too risky for someone to take.  The worst thing that can happen isn’t that you will fail, it’s that you will regret taking the chance.

Q:  What is your biggest guilty pleasure?

(JW):  Tiramisu.  I try every Tiramisu that I come in contact with.  Don’t care where, don’t care when…its part guilty pleasure, part hobby to find the best in the world (so far, it’s the Tiramisu at Publix bakery, and trust me, I’ve tried a lot!)

Q:  Who or what has been your biggest inspiration (book, movie, person)?

(JW):  It’s hard to put just one as there have been several people and movies that have inspired me (not a big reader).

But to really put it in focus, my kids are my biggest inspiration.  To be honest they are the reason I started doing social media, and still the people I am happiest to see at a show.  I know that I inspire them as well, as they get to see what they can achieve.  But seeing how proud they are of what I have accomplished really fills my soul and drives me to do more.

Q:  Which famous historical event would you like to have witnessed and why?

(JW):  There are several, but I would say it’s the Fall of the Berlin Wall (I was only a kid when it happened, but would have wanted to see it in person)

Q:  What do you look forward to most when you return home from the road?

(JW):  Playing video games with my friends.  I have a group of guys across the world that I play video games with whenever I can.  Good time to break away from all the business of the tour and just hang out with the guys (which we stream on Twitch).
