Los Angeles-based heavy metal trio RUSTY EYE are back in ferociously fine form with their second single “Can’t Wait To Go To Hell.” It’s taken from their upcoming album, DISSECTING SHADOWS–the first new music from the band in over six years–due out on October 23 via Epoché Records/Blood Blast Distribution. The band yesterday (September 17)premiered the song’s blood-drippingly evocative music video viaDecibel Magazinewho laud the track for its “progressive metal riffing and the dual vocals of drummer Miss Randall and bassist Mr. Rust, (which) pack grooves, solos, synths and an anthemic chorus into the new song.” Watch it streaming below followed by a video message from co-vocalist/bassist Mr. Rust discussing the new song and limited-edition pre-order options for the new album.
DISSECTING SHADOWS highlights RUSTY EYE‘s definitive ‘Rust’n’Roll‘ sound combining a blend of prog, thrash, punk, blackened death and synthwave, while its lyrics celebrate exploitation cinema, Italian horror, and grindhouse. The album’s fierce debut single/video, “This Is Permanent,” was premiered via Metal Injection in August and was featured on several playlists including Spotify‘s official ‘Metal de Nuestras Tierras‘ playlist and Nuclear Blast‘s ‘Heavy Metal Lockdown‘ playlist.
Pre-order options are available now on CD, Vinyl (limited to 500 clear variants) and a special limited-edition branded boombox and cassette bundle at http://store.rustyeye.com. Digital pre-orders can be found here.
RUSTY EYE–which along with Mr. Rust includes co-vocalist/drummer Miss Randall and guitarist Baron Murtland–have previously released five studio albums, a catalog of EPs, live records, singles, and music videos that have seen them featured in several notable music outlets including Noisey, Revolver, Metalsucks, Metal Edge, Exclaim! and Music Connection, while their horror-themed lyrics and videos have received praise from the likes of horror genre outlets including Rue Morgue and the defunct FEARnet.com. Their 2014 release Saca el Cobre, a cover album of Spanish language classics by Cuca, Amantes de Lola, Fobia, Caifanes, Café Tacuba, and Maldita Vecindad, caught the attention of famed Mexican musician and filmmaker Sergio Arau, who hired RUSTY EYE to be his backing band.
