SRO PR TO CELEBRATE 25TH ANNIVERSARY IN FEBRUARY

COMPANY DEBUTS NEW WEBSITE
TO REFLECT RECENT REBRANDING TO SRO FROM MSO

As SRO (Schneider Rondan Organization) gets ready to mark its 25th anniversary in February, the PR company with headquarters in Los Angeles and an office in Nashville has debuted its new website: SROPR.COM.

The site reflects activity that started in June 2019 when MSO PR rebranded as SRO PR with the promotion of Marcee Rondan from Executive Vice President to Partner, an announcement that was made by the company’s Founder and Partner, Mitch Schneider. The SRO site includes a link to the MSO site where press releases are archived since 1996, when MSO became the first independent music publicity firm to have its own website.

“So honored and proud to celebrate the company’s 25th anniversary,” says Schneider. “We continue to be lit up with legendary and new artists as well as music festivals and events. We’re very fortunate that our work has included campaigns for boundary-pushing artists Tash Sultana, Ice Nine Kills, The HU and Amigo The Devil. And it has been truly exciting to see Ozzy Osbourne collaborate with Post Malone and Travis Scott and reach new audiences.”

“With the new decade, and the celebration of our 25 years, this seems like the perfect time for a new look for our online presence,” Rondan adds. “We’re looking forward to what the future holds for SRO, while also celebrating our accomplishments with the breadth of artists that have brought us here.”

SRO has been at the forefront of many notable campaigns over the past 25 years. Here are a few memorable ones:

  • OZZY OSBOURNE: The rock icon, still relevant and compelling after all these years, just landed the #1 Rock Song in the country with his current single Under The Graveyardfrom his upcoming album, ORDINARY MAN. The beginnings of the company’s relationship with OZZY go all the way back to 1987.
  • DAVID BOWIE: From the MSO press release: “I have no idea where I’m going from here, but I promise I won’t bore you,” said DAVID BOWIE onstage at his sold-out 50th birthday concert at Madison Square Garden in New York (1/9/97) right before he released his EARTHLING album. The company handled the legend from 1991-2012. To view this press release at the original MSO site, follow the link, scroll to Bowie’s name in the artist directory and click on the 1/13/97 release.
  • HEART: Rock and Roll of Fame inductees ANN and NANCY WILSON gloriously returned to the spotlight with their massive “Love Alive” cross-country summer tour after a three-year hiatus from touring. The roots of our relationship with the iconic and pioneering sisters go back to 1987.
  • TOM PETTY AND THE HEARTBREAKERS: During a long relationship with the rock legends, which ran from 1987-2004, we asked PETTY to talk about all the songs on the band’s 1993 GREATEST HITS album. Company founder Mitch Schneider interviewed him at his Encino home, just a half mile from where the SRO office is today. Read the Q&A at SRO‘s spin-off website, Raise The Question.
  • DOLLY PARTON: SRO in Los Angeles and Nashvillewas proud to work with the woman who needs no introduction; it was a five-year run that started with the 2007’s BACKWOODS BARBIE album. It marked the first release on Dolly Records and was launched with “Better Get To Livin’,” a classic kick-in-the-pants inspirational.
  • AEROSMITH: During a long relationship with the band (intermittently from 1988-2015), we came up with the idea to have their original Commonwealth Ave apartment declared a historic landmark in Boston. Tens of thousands of cheering fans turned out, with the city closing the streets down and suspending trolley service in the area (since the trolley runs in front of the apartment). It was one of the biggest events ever in Boston.
  • KORN: When we handled the trendsetting, Grammy-winning modern rock icons, we came up with the idea to have the press conference announcing the See You On The Other Side” tour take place at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in 2005. The band of course arrived in a hearse and the party that followed took place in a mausoleum. Axl Rose, in what was his first public sighting in years, attended.
  • SEX PISTOLS: MSO handled the band’s reunion in 1996 and continued with them through 2007 including their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006, which they defiantly did not attend. We asked JOHNNY ROTTEN for some quotes to explain the band’s position; he promptly scrawled out a classic note complete with deliberate misspellings that we released to the media. See the note here.
  • FESTIVALS: Throughout the company’s history, the SRO team has been fortunate to be a part of some historic moments in U.S. festival history including, the launch of Coachella in 1999 (through 2011); the Voodoo Music Experience in New Orleans from 2005-2013, including the pivotal event in 2005 that was a part of the city’s recovery from Hurricane Katrina; and the inaugural Kind Festival in Desert Hot Springs in 2019, the first ever cannabis-friendly music festival.

SRO PR maintains offices in Los Angeles and Nashville, the latter of which is headed by Lyndie Wenner. With its iconic and cutting-edge artist roster–and its representation of internationally heralded music festivals, tours, events and companies–the company has the eyes and ears of America’s exuberant music fans. Ithas been hailed as a “bonafide taste maker” (L.A. Weekly, 2010) and by Music Connection (May 2019) as “one of the world’s premier public relations firms. The MSO roster is eclectic and encompassing. It includes various styles and genres, superstars, musical legends, festivals, award shows and emerging artists. That diversity enables MSO to obtain coverage in multiple outlets and mediums, from underground to mainstream.”
