Biography

Roni Lee is a legacy recording and performance artist from Southern California whose musical history includes her role as guitarist for the iconic Los Angeles punk band Venus and the Razorblades, created by Kim Fowley in the late 1970s, and songwriter for that band, the Runaways, and others.  Roni has a gold record for the writing on the Runaways’ Live in Japan album and has collaborated with Joan Jett as well.  Roni continues to perform and write for music and television. She’s also the founder of her mentor record label, Play Like a Girl Records, where she showcases and helps other artists navigate the complicated music business and recording industry. Roni’s career has spanned decades but remains current to this day hosting music events at NAMM in Anaheim and performing annual Europe tours. She’s also involved with collaborative projects like the Rock Goddess shows (showcasing women in rock) and many other events.
