JOHN LODGE, legendary bass player, songwriter and vocalist of The Moody Blues and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, is looking forward to his previously announced winter 2023 US tour, “Performs Days of Future Passed,” launching February 18 in Lexington, MA. LODGE, together with his 10,000 Light Years Band, will perform The Moody Blues’ iconic Days of Future Passed album—which marked its 55th anniversary on November 10, 2022—in its entirety, with a special recording by the late Graeme Edge and performances by Jon Davison of YES. The show will be rounded out by LODGE’s self-written classic hits “Ride My See-Saw,” “I’m Just a Singer (In a Rock and Roll Band),” and “Isn’t Life Strange.”

LODGE’s tour also coincides with the 50th anniversary of The Moody Blues’ 1972 album Seventh Sojourn (released November 17, 1972 in the US) which spent 5 weeks at Number 1 on Billboard. It featured the above-mentioned LODGE-penned hits “I’m Just a Singer (In a Rock and Roll Band)” and “Isn’t Life Strange.”

“Seventh Sojourn was the last of the first seven ‘core’ albums, and for me it was the pinnacle of the Moody Blues as a ‘touring band,’” says LODGE.  “The two hit singles from the album, ‘I’m Just a Singer (In a Rock n Roll Band) and ‘Isn’t life Strange,’ I still feature in my solo shows. When I wrote those songs, I was younger than I am today, but it still amazes me at their continued relevance.  What I do know is that they mean as much to me today as they did then, and I can see in the audience that it means the same to them, too.  I always feel that we share the deep emotion–the journey, if you will–of these songs together.”

Below are the tour dates and more quotes from JOHN about the show. For tickets, VIP packages–which include a great seat, a personalized video message from John and exclusive merchandise, and more–please visit: https://johnlodge.com/tour.

For the 55th anniversary of Days of Future Passed, JOHN wanted to do something special to celebrate the album. The Moodies had embarked on a US tour in 2017 to celebrate the 50th, but regrettably stopped touring shortly after, and then, very sadly, Graeme Edge passed away in 2021. However, shortly before his passing, John and Graeme met and spent some special time together, and at that meeting Graeme told John how he hoped John would continue on with the music and keep the Moody Blues’ music alive.

JOHN returned home and realized that what he really wanted to do was revisit this iconic album, honor his lost friends Ray Thomas and Graeme Edge, and his other bandmates Justin Hayward and Mike Pinder, but also reimagine it for today.  How would he do it differently? Graeme had already recorded a special version of “Late Lament” for John, and John’s great friend (and future son-in-law) Jon Davison (of YES) had recorded “Nights in White Satin” for him, and so the stage was set; John went into the studio and began work with his Musical Director, Alan Hewitt, on both a new show and a new album, details of which are TBA.

The new show, based around the simple tale of “a day in the life of an everyday man,” will highlight all that made Days of Future Passed the ground-breaking album that it was–arguably the start of Progressive Rock.  It retains the core emotion of the original album and recreates its incredible orchestration, but at the same time it also brings in a modern feel thanks to the great strides in modern fidelity, and the maturity that comes with the passing of the years.  Listen to “Nights in White Satin,” “Tuesday Afternoon,” “Peak Hour,” and more fill the room, and you’ll be taken back to 1967, but at the same time, you’ll hear what John has brought to this new version in his vocals, bass and harmonies, and how he sees the album 55 years later. In its own way, it can also be said to be a reflection of John’s own life.

The electrifying show will also feature a selection of JOHN’s above-mentioned self-written hits. Come and be taken back to The Moody Blues’ shows of the past, featuring JOHN LODGE and including tributes to all his bandmates.

Joining JOHN on stage is his 10,000 Light Years Band: long term collaborator Alan Hewitt (Music Director and Keyboards) and Billy Ashbaugh (Drums) from the Moody Blues touring band, together with Duffy King (Guitars) and Jason Charboneau (Cello). Jon Davison, lead vocalist of YES, will also light up the night with his special renditions of The Moody Blues’ “Nights in White Satin” and “Tuesday Afternoon.”

“As I said at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Graeme, Mike, Ray, Justin, and I, together with Tony, went into a studio, and seven days later we came out with an album that changed our lives forever,” says LODGE of Days of Future Passed.

He adds: “I’m sorry that the Moodies are no longer touring, and I miss my friends Ray and Graeme deeply, but as I looked back to the past, I realised that I also wanted to look forwards to the Future. My hope is that in this show, and album, you will get to revisit 1967, but at the same time, see how this album has grown with me, and with you. Thank to you the 10,000 Light Years Band, Jon Davison and, of course, Graeme, for their belief in this project and helping bring my vision to life. And thank you to all the fans for Keeping the Faith.”

“For the last 17 years, To Write Love on Her Arms has been finding ways to use live music as a means to connect people to local and affordable options for mental health care,” relays TWLOHA’s Director of Outreach Chad Moses. “In that time, we’ve been fortunate enough to see some of the very best examples where conversations of mental health have been expressed and received from the stage and in the crowds. We’ve not done this work alone—rather these conversations have been cultivated through active relationships with countless fans, music industry professionals, and artists. Within those ranks, Nothing More has proven to be among the most consistent and loyal friends to the organization, and that friendship grew in large part due to how they craft their art. When the band performs a song about mental health—or about hope, or about pain—they aren’t treating the stage as a pulpit but instead as an invitation. What they have to say or sing finds its true value in how it is received by the listeners and how those fans choose to live out the next chapters. Simply put, Nothing More is what it looks and sounds like to feel a little less alone, and is proof that our deepest questions and challenges can be fertile ground for building community.”

NOTHING MORE’s 2022 album SPIRITS via Better Noise Music was inspired by the philosophy of Alan Watts and Carl Jung and an introspective look at the results on one’s psyche after being isolated due to the pandemic. The album was accompanied by a meta- personality “SPIRITS TEST” designed by frontman Jonny Hawkins—similar to tests such as Myers-Briggs, Big 5 and the Zodiac—which results in finding out one’s “Spirit Type,” one of seven personality characters based on the test’s results. Each “Spirit Type” is paired to a track on SPIRITS which the band have further highlighted with lyric video visualizers showcasing the artwork for the associated “Spirit Type.” Last week NOTHING MORE unveiled the visualizer for “DREAM WITH ME,” and they will next reveal the visualizer for “VALHALLA” with a YouTube video premiere and Instagram live Q&A this Thursday, January 12. Set a reminder for “VALHALLA” lyric video premiere here: https://youtu.be/pDCvfo-HUaA.

NOTHING MORE will further develop the story of these “Spirit Types” in their upcoming graphic novel “SPIRITS VOL.1” due this Spring via Z2 Comics. Pre-order a copy HERE.

ABOUT NOTHING MORE
Rock audiences count NOTHING MORE among the most cherished acts, the kind of band who straddle the line between populism and intimacy with every performance. The San Antonio, Texas-born quartet builds unapologetically massive anthems from catchy hooks. Crowd-pleasers clear a path for heady, confessional, thought-provoking emotionalism. Fresh rewards reveal themselves with repeat listens, welcoming like-minded seekers with rich melodicism, like the best of Deftones or Tool.

Those who saw the band on tour with hard rock heavyweights like Shinedown, Five Finger Death Punch, Breaking Benjamin, Papa Roach, and Disturbed will attest to what The Guardian observed: “There’s a sophistication to NOTHING MORE’s angst that raises them above the tumult-tossed pit.”

Kerrang! named NOTHING MORE one of 22 Artists Shaping the Future of Rock, alongside Nine Inch Nails, Twenty One Pilots, and Bring Me The Horizon. And frontman Jonny Hawkins, who met guitarist Mark Vollelunga before they were old enough to drive, appeared with Billie Joe Armstrong, Dave Grohl, and Hayley Williams in the English tastemaker’s Top 50 Greatest Rockstars in the World.

Hawkins and Vollelunga started the band in 2003 and were quickly joined by bassist Daniel Oliver and later by drummer Ben Anderson. The band’s blend of explosive bombast and nuanced storytelling resulted in a half dozen Top 10 singles at Mainstream Rock Radio, including the No. 1 hit “Go to War” and the Sirius XM Octane song of the decade and Active Rock chart-topper “This is the Time (Ballast).” The Stories We Tell Ourselves earned a head-turning three Grammy nominations.

Los Angeles-based indie/alternative rock outfit LOUDEN SWAIN released their tenth studio album FEELINGS AND SUCH in November which they celebrated with an intimate hometown release show. Fronted by actor/musician Rob Benedict—who was recently cast on Season 4 of Amazon Prime’s “The Boys” and is best known for his recurring role as “Chuck/God” on the long-running CW hit series “Supernatural”—LOUDEN SWAIN is rounded out by a group of skilled musicians including co-founder/bassist Michael Borja, drummer Stephen Norton and guitarist Billy Moran. The quartet have shared a look behind-the-scenes of the ‘making of’ FEELINGS AND SUCH in the music video for the bracing album single “Wine And Roses.” It’s streaming now below or directly via YouTube HERE.

“‘Wine and Roses’ is about being quarantined in 2020,” says Benedict. “It reflects on the past few years and struggling to maintain sanity, specifically being isolated in a small room, losing touch with reality.”

LOUDEN SWAIN have developed a unique approach to touring due to Benedicts fanbase surrounding his role on “Supernatural.” The band appear at fan conventions specific to the show which are held across the globe monthly and see Louden Swain perform as the house band between actor’s panels along with booking a headlining gig that’s open to both convention attendees and the general public. The band are currently in Nashville, TN where they performed a headlining show this past Saturday on the 17th and will play a second sold-out show tonight, December 19, at Analog with Radio Company which is fronted by Benedict’s “Supernatural” co-star Jensen Ackles and singer-songwriter Steve Carlson. The show will livestreamed via Stageit at a “pay-what-you-can” rate; tickets are available HERE.

Marking LOUDEN SWAIN’s 25-year anniversary, FEELINGS AND SUCH combines rock & roll swagger and melodic jangle with emotive, electrifying songs about pushing past challenges and turning one’s struggles into salvation. Its debut single “There’s The Rub” premiered on Popmatters who described it as “a tune that gets listeners up on their feet with its swagger” while praising Benedict’s “hearty vocal delivery” and crediting the band for “fuel(ing) its infectious energy with their instrumental performance.”

Co-produced by LOUDEN SWAIN and longtime collaborator Zackary Darling (The Temptations, John Waite), FEELINGS AND SUCH is an album rooted in trials and triumphs, whipped into shape by a band of rock & roll lifers who’ve had plenty of experience with both. BENEDICT had gone through a divorce, BORJA had recently lost his father, NORTON was battling colon cancer and everyone’s lives had been altered by the pandemic. Yet LOUDEN SWAIN continue to spread their optimistic outlook within its 13 tracks and throughout their upcoming live performances (full dates below).

Plunging listeners into the myths and legends of Scandinavia, world-famous French Nordic folk collective SKÁLD pay homage to ancient Nordic poets (aka skalds) by singing in Old Norse and other Scandinavian languages (Swedish, Norwegian, Icelandic and Faroese) along with using instrumentation dating back to the 14th century such as the nyckelharpa, Lyre, hurdy-gurdy, Moraharpa and Talharpa, underpinned with shamanic percussion to create their transfixing sound.

The collective today (December 16) share the second single, “Då Månen Sken,” from their forthcoming album HULDUFÓLK due January 20 via Decca Records France / DECCA RECORDS U.S. (UMG). “Då Månen Sken” translates to “When The Moon Shone” and tells the lore of the Swedish mythical femme-fatale Skogsrå, a forest nymph who lures men and binds their soul to the forest. The single is available now across all streaming platforms HERE and a visualizer video can be seen streaming below.

“‘Då Månen Sken’ is a ballad that tells the story of a skogsrå, a forest nymph, who bewitched the young Björn,” relays SKÁLD. “Björn was a tall, handsome boy on his way to a party one fall evening. On his way, he met this nymph who bewitched him. He will end up alone and melancholic, obsessed by the sound of the forest.”

Formed by producer/composer Christophe Voisin-Boisvinet in 2018, SKÁLD is a collective of over a dozen musicians who have restored the folklore and myths from poets, Vikings and shamans of ancient times and distant lands. HULDUFÓLK (“the hidden people”) honors an entire people in whom many Scandinavians still believe—elves, trolls, witches, fairies and otherworldly creature that live deep in the forests and in the heart of the mountains that discreetly coexist with humankind. The album’s debut single “Troll Kalla Mik” (“They Call Me Troll”), released on November 18, shared the lore of the “hidden people” with a mystifying music video that was voted PROG’s “Track of The Week” and has since garnered 372k views. Watch it here.

HULDUFÓLK’s cover artwork (seen below) is a tribute to Swedish painter and illustrator John Baur’s illustration “Princess Tuvstarr Gazing Down Into The Dark Waters Of The Forest Tarn.”  Baur is best known for his illustrations of early editions of Bland Tomtar Och Troll (Among Gnomes and Trolls), an anthology of Swedish folklore and fairy tales which are highlighted throughout HULDUFÓLK.

Pre-order HULDUFÓLK digitally and/or on CD, LP, including bundles with a protective troll amulet and leather cord, at https://bio.to/skald.

It will be available to stream/download across all streaming platforms tomorrow, Friday, December 16 at this link: https://bfan.link/heavy-heart-3.

“This song is very personal to me,” shares REDLIGHT KING founder and frontman Kaz. “It reflects on a loving relationship that ended in heartbreak.  The person in my life wasn’t able to communicate their true feelings and I’m not sure I was in a place to receive the message.  It feels lonely because it is. There’s pain in losing someone you love and no amount of intuition or clarity can make it better, but writing this song helped me find closure and say what I needed to say in their absence.

Discussing the “Heavy Heart” video, he says: “For me the video translates the solitude and cold nature of bearing a broken heart, and somehow in this sadness there is beauty. I feel the ability to love someone triumphs over losing them. The video was taken in and around Yosemite National Park, Northern California by Strati Hovartos.”

IN OUR BLOOD sees REDLIGHT KING notch soaring new highs with a clutch of revved-up, guitar-powered bangers that bring forth challenging, complex themes with a defiant undercurrent of hope. The album was written and produced by KAZ at his home studio The Wheelhouse in Los Angeles with longtime collaborator and guitarist Julian Tomarin and drummer Randy Cooke. Its debut single and title track “In Our Blood” premiered on Loudwire who described it as “a song that truly speaks to the human spirit.”

REDLIGHT KING have developed a worldwide fanbase since their formation in 2009, performing over 1,000 shows with some of the biggest names in rock and being seen at festivals in North America, UK and Europe as well as late-night TV appearances on “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” and “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Stay tuned for additional dates to be announced for 2023.

The inaugural ZONA MUSIC FESTIVAL, held December 3-4 at Margaret T. Hance Park in Downtown Phoenix, AZ, further solidified the city as an up-and-coming hub for live music with performances from over 50 national and local alternative, indie, rock and electronic acts throughout the weekend. The festival’s mission to give back was further exemplified with a portion of ticket sales going to local nonprofit organizations Hance Park Conservatory and Roosevelt Row CDC, and a merch collaboration benefitting youth non-profit one n ten.

Despite record breaking rainfall on Day 1 — the most rain ever recorded in Phoenix on December 3 since 1908 — ZONA MUSIC FESTIVAL went swimmingly with stand-out performances from Beach House, Japanese Breakfast and Bleachers, who called upon Bartees Strange to join them in the rain for a cover of Tegan and Sara’s “Call It Off”, following the duo’s cancellation due to COVID-19. The city’s local music scene was represented across all stages, including when headliners Portugal. The Man tapped Phoenix Afrobeat Orchestra’s horn section to help them close out Sunday night. The Regrettes shouted from the stage “Phoenix! We are having so much fun and can’t wait to come back to Arizona” while afternoon favorite Breakup Shoes recapped the weekend on Instagram stating “ZONA was a dream. That’s gotta be my favorite set we’ve ever played.”

Attendees were able to experience Phoenix’s thriving food and drink scene with themed pop-up bars from local favorites such as Gracie’s Tax Bar, Lucky’s and Cobra Arcade Bar, who brought pinball machines and vintage video games for concert goers to play in-between sets.

“As an inaugural Zona Fest attendee, and the councilwoman representing so many of the hyperlocal musicians, artists, and businesses involved, I couldn’t be prouder of the concert-goer experience created to showcase what Phoenix is all about,” said Councilwoman Yassamin Ansari. “Heavy rain and mud didn’t discourage thousands from gathering to ultimately prove we are a vibrant, growing city where independent venues are thriving, talent is being discovered, and where people want to be. I can’t wait for next year,” she added.

OZZY OSBOURNE has hit another career high with his first-ever career back-to-back #1 rock radio singles from his hugely successful and critically acclaimed PATIENT NUMBER 9 album (Epic Records). Today (December 12) the album’s “One of Those Days” (featuring Eric Clapton) reached #1 on the rock radio charts (Mediabase); it follows a #1 slot for the album’s first single and title track, “Patient Number 9,” (featuring Jeff Beck) released earlier this year.

“I’m fucking overwhelmed by the response that this album has had from everyone. I’m just blown away!” OZZY says.

Last month, PATIENT NUMBER 9 earned four Grammy nominations–marking the most nominations OZZY’s ever received for a single album–Best Rock Performance: “Patient Number 9,” Ozzy Osbourne feat. Jeff Beck”; Best Metal Performance: “Degradation Rules,” Ozzy Osbourne feat. Tony lommi; Best Rock Song: “Patient Number 9,” John Osbourne, Chad Smith, Ali Tamposi, Robert Trujillo & Andrew Wotman, songwriters (Ozzy Osbourne feat. Jeff Beck); and Best Rock Album for Patient Number 9.

PATIENT NUMBER 9–released September 9 and marking OZZY’s 13th solo studio album–triumphantly sets new career highs for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and Grammy®-winning singer and songwriter. Working with producer Andrew Watt for the second time, OZZY welcomed a dynamic A-list featured guests on the album. For the first time ever, Black Sabbath co-founder, guitarist, and riff-master Tony Iommi appears on an OZZY solo album. The record also boasts guitarists Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Mike McCready of Pearl Jam, and longstanding righthand man and six-string beast Zakk Wylde who plays on the majority of the tracks. For the bulk of the album, Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers held down drums, while the late Taylor Hawkins of Foo Fighters appears on three songs. Old friend and one-time OZZY band member Robert Trujillo of Metallica plays bass on most of the album’s tracks, with Duff McKagan of Guns N’ Roses and Chris Chaney supplying bass on a few songs.

Upon its release, the album topped OZZY’s previous chart entries with record-breaking numbers around the world. In the U.S., the album debuted at #1 on multiple charts: Top Album Sales (Ozzy’s first #1 ever on this chart), Top Current Album Sales (another first), Top Rock & Alternative Albums, Top Rock Albums, Top Hard Rock Albums, Top Vinyl Albums and Tastemaker Albums charts; and at #3 on the Billboard Top 200 albums chart. Globally, the album charted at #1 in Canada (OZZY’s first-ever #1 there); career high #2 entries in the UK, Australia, Finland and Italy; #6 in the Netherlands and New Zealand; #8 in Belgium; and #14 France. Other highlights include #2 Austria, Germany and Sweden; #3 in Switzerland; and #4 in Norway.

“Travel with me through time
Walk with me in your light
Find me where you would fly
The joker in the sky”

Active rock outfit BUDDERSIDE have today (December 9) released an emotional new single, “Joker,” which pays tribute to vocalist PATRICK STONE’s late father Charles E. Stone who passed away in 2020 due to COVID-19. Known as the “joker,” STONE’s father was a Korean War veteran and stunt pilot. To honor his memory, BUDDERSIDEPatrick Stone (vocals), Sam “Bam” Koltun (lead guitar), Logan Nikolic (rhythm guitar), Gabe Maska (bass) and Jeff Dewbray (drums)—filmed the “Joker” music video at Planes of Fame Air Museum in Chino, CA surrounded by historic warbirds and aerobatic aircrafts, with STONE’s face painted to resemble the joker character. Watch the touching video directed by longtime collaborator Vicente Cordero below or directly via YouTube HERE. “Joker” is available now to stream/download across all digital platforms HERE.

“‘Joker’ pays tribute to my father who was a veteran and stunt pilot that I lost due to Covid,” shares STONE, whose outstanding soaring vocals underline the song’s heart and soul.

He continues to reminisce about his relationship with his father and how it inspired the track: “Imagine you’re a child, Dad wakes you up before dawn, takes you to the airport and straps you into his two-seater acrobatic aircraft and you both launch into a gorgeous, burning orange and red sunrise. He flips the plane upside down just as you come over the Santa Cruz mountains above Steamers Lane, the engine growling into a dive toward waves covered with surfers who begin jumping from their boards in fear of a crash. Dad laughing his ass off, upside down and lightning fast, then, spinning upward, straight for the stars. He cuts the power into a stall! You fall backwards, your heart spit from your chest, all the angels in heaven vibrating in your bones and Dad, The Joker, laughs even louder as the free fall consumes you. A quick trick with the controls, the engine comes back to life like an earthquake, the power under your seat, you both scream! Then, like a dream, the clouds act like a blanket and softly carry you to wherever you want to go. This was a typical Sunday morning for my dad and I.”

“The Joker” lyrics
Fear is my own design
Loss is my every chain
Possessions hold me down
Reminding me of times of pain

Hold me closer now
As I push you away
Into a new chapter
Alone so proud dying so brave
So brave

Travel with me through time
Walk with me in your light
Find me where you would fly
The joker in the sky
The joke is on you and…

I can’t be everything
Like you are everywhere
In every breath I breathe
Shining the light on mystery

The mountains sing the song
Resting your soul to sleep
The fallen snow it lays
The child down where he believes
Believe in me

Travel with me through time
Walk with me in your light
Find me where you would fly
The joker in the sky
The joke is on you and…

I’m following the ghost that has failed you,
and I won’t ever forget he betrayed you

Travel with me through time
Walk with me in your light
Find me where you would fly
The joker in the sky
The joke is on you and…

Travel with me through time
Walk with me in your light
Find me where you would fly
The joker in the sky
The joker in the sky

BUDDERSIDE have been steadily releasing a series of singles leading into the release of their upcoming third album, due in 2023, which they recorded earlier this year with producer Matt Good (Asking Alexandria, Hollywood Undead). It was #1 for nine weeks, the maximum allotted amount. BUDDERSIDE’s recent singles include “Never Worth It,” “Too Far,” “Ghostlighting,” and “Voices.”

The LA-based group have been seen performing one-off gigs at hometown venues including The Whisky and Viper Room throughout the year. When they’re not touring or recording, Koltun can be seen on the road with Dorothy and Faster Pussycat and Nikolic appears with Diamante on tour. Stay tuned in 2023 for additional tour dates.

There’s more excitement in the world of CROSSBONE SKULLY, currently buzzing with the pulverizing “Evil World Machine” track and the intense animated video, both of which are setting the stage for the release of a debut album in 2023 via Better Noise Music.

Today (December 9), CROSSBONE SKULLY—an exciting multi-dimensional project that’s the brainchild of guitarist/bassist/vocalist Tommy Henriksen (Alice Cooper’s Band/Member of Hollywood Vampires which includes Johnny Depp)—have released a new version of the “Evil World Machine” video, directed and animated by Riley Donahue (“Saturday Night Live”). It’s an edited version of the song’s extended video to match the edited version of the track. Watch what is now known as the song’s “official” video here: https://crossboneskully.ffm.to/ewmofficialvideo.

CROSSBONE SKULLY is Henriksen’s carefully crafted character—an avenging superhero—and the character’s world, which inspired its own upcoming graphic novel and animated film, “Thing #1.” CROSSBONE SKULLY begins his journey to rescue humanity on “Evil World Machine,” which confronts the evil currency of the world. Legendary producer Mutt Lange (AC/DC, Def Leppard) emerged from retirement to serve as executive producer on the album which was written by Henriksen and guitarist/producer Tommy Denander.

Henriksen serves as lead vocalist and bassist on the album. Rounding out the band’s lineup are Denander, keyboardist Jamie Muhoberac (My Chemical Romance, John Mayer, Seal), bassist Chris Wyse (Hollywood Vampires, Ace Frehley, the Cult, Ozzy Osbourne), drummer Glen Sobel (Alice Cooper, Hollywood Vampires), the late UFO bassist Pete Way, producer/mixer Mike Plotnikoff (AC/DC, Aerosmith) and mixer Olle Romo (Muse, Bryan Adams). For the “Thing #1” animated short film, Henriksen enlisted voiceover talent from Hollywood A-lister and Hollywood Vampires bandmate Johnny Depp (The Sorcerer), and an impressive list of rock royalty including Alice Cooper (The Bringer of Light), Joe Perry (Big Bad Bone Crusher), Nikki Sixx (The Crooked Crow) and Kane Roberts (Alpha Watchman), just to name a few.

“This has been an amazing journey,” says Henriksen, who began the project almost four years ago. “If you had told me back then that I’d be working with the greatest producer who ever lived, I wouldn’t have believed it.”

CROSSBONE SKULLY will be engaging fans with more music from the album, which delivers a powerful message in today’s global climate, inviting people of all backgrounds to coexist and break down oppressive barriers. Additionally, Henriksen’s vision for CROSSBONE SKULLY will continue to unfold, culminating in the release of the band’s debut album in 2023.

Artist Quotes:

Alice Cooper: “It’s about time someone recognized Crossbone Skully. Skully and I go way back. Crossbone Skully has written a galactic masterpiece about one of the most mysterious characters of the cosmos. Is he a villain or a hero? I don’t know. Maybe a little of both. All I know is don’t cross Crossbone Skully. This album rocks every galaxy out there.”

Nikki Sixx: “I’m thrilled to be involved in the Crossbone Skully project. The music is hard hitting and real as it aligns with an original concept.  To be part of this project with this group of legends is inspirational and I know it’s gonna kick ass!”

ABOUT CROSSBONE SKULLY
Crossbone Skully is an avenging superhero from outer space, returning to earth to save the world and reconnect with his lost deity love Piper and Kyd, the son he never knew he had. Evil World Machine is a rock concept album that echoes similar dystopian visions such as Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars and Diamond Dogs. The project, influenced by larger-than-life bands such as AC/DC, Alice Cooper, KISS, Iron Maiden and even the Sex Pistols, is the work of a collaborative team headed by veteran rock session bassist/guitarist Tommy Henriksen and Tommy Denander alongside the legendary Mutt Lange, who emerged from retirement to executive produce the project.

With a long history Henriksen has also had a successful side career as a producer/mixer/arranger and songwriter for the likes of Lady Gaga, Meat Loaf, Lou Reed, Halestorm, Kesha and Daughtry. His metamorphosis into Crossbone Skully started when Alice Cooper’s lighting man, who used to work for AC/DC, heard him singing like Bon Scott and successor Brian Johnson during a sound check–and suggested he build a solo project around it.

The sterling group of supporting musicians includes guitarist Tommy Denander (who introduced him to Mutt Lange after collaborating on Alice Cooper’s 2017 album Paranormal with Bob Ezrin), keyboardist Jamie Muhoberac (My Chemical Romance, John Mayer, Seal), bassist Chris Wyse (Hollywood Vampires, Ace Frehley, the Cult, Ozzy Osbourne) and drummer Glen Sobel (Alice Cooper, Hollywood Vampires), the late UFO bassist Pete Way, mixer Olle Romo (Muse, Bryan Adams) and producer/mixer Mike Plotnikoff (AC/DC, Aerosmith), who helped get him noticed by Allen Kovac’s Better Noise Records. Making spoken-word appearances are Johnny Depp as the voice of “The Sorcerer,” along with Alice Cooper as “The Bringer of Light,” Joe Perry as “Big Bad Bone Crusher” and Nikki Sixx as “The Crooked Crow,” with Kane Roberts as “Alpha Watchman,” among other guests. Henriksen developed the voice of Crossbone Skully with a vocal app that makes him sound like a disembodied Stephen Hawking. Iconic creative/art director Mark Wilkinson, who designed for Iron Maiden, Marillion, Judas Priest and The Darkness, created the Crossbone Skully album cover.
