Active rock group PISTOLS AT DAWN stand behind the powerful women in their lives with their new single, “Fly,” a powerful and dark love song. Taken from their upcoming debut studio album ASCENSION, due August 19 via Megaforce/MRI Entertainment, “Fly” will be released across digital platforms on Friday, July 15. Pre-save it HERE. The quintet shared an exclusive premiere of the single’s music video yesterday via Ghost Cult Magazine which shows the band performing in a dark, gritty venue while shining the light on the strong females that are underrepresented in the rock genre. Watch “Fly” streaming below or HERE.

The band commented, “We wanted to feature women as the subject of the video, not as an object. Feminine strength and girl power are themes that are very relevant at this moment and are uncharacteristic of most hard rock videos. We have a powerful love song in ‘Fly’ and our goal was to exhibit passion and feeling in a relatively unique way for our genre of music.”

PISTOLS AT DAWN deliver hard-hitting hooks, magnetic melodies and intricate instrumentation with old school arena-size ambition on ASCENSION. The album was recorded with Grammy Award-winning producer and engineer Sylvia Massy (Tool, System Of A Down, Johnny Cash) who praised the band’s “bright, modern, driving aggression” while lauding the album for its “angular guitars and other-wordly vocals” which “crown the super-human strength of these tracks.” The group shared the first single, “The Truth,” in June which introduced new vocalist Cris Hodges (In The End: The Premiere Linkin Park Experience). Nodding to 90’s alternatives with a personalized twist, Indie Pulse Music described it as “heavy music unafraid to push the boundaries of rock while maintaining catchy melodies and deep messages.”

Based out of Atlanta, GA, PISTOLS AT DAWNADAM JAFFE [drums], DEVIN WHITE [guitar], BILLY SULLIVAN [bass], TOMMY RICHARDSON [guitar] and CRIS HODGES [vocals]–were originally formed in 2015 but disintegrated after the tragic passing of guitarist Mike Buffa in 2018. They reformed in 2019 before releasing NOCTURNAL YOUTH in 2021 which was recorded with Jeff Tomei (Smashing Pumpkins, Matchbox 20). With live music at a halt due to the global pandemic, the band engaged fans worldwide with an immersive online campaign for the EP’s singles “Cold” “Voices,” “Crown,” and “Now Is The Time” which exploded with over 2 million Spotify streams and 6 million video streams combined.

Atlanta, GA-based group PISTOLS AT DAWN deliver hard-hitting hooks, magnetic melodies and intricate instrumentation with old school arena-size ambition on their debut studio album ASCENSION due August 19 via Megaforce/MRI Entertainment. After independently amassing over 6 million streams across streaming and video platforms via previously released singles from their debut 2021 EP NOCTURNAL YOUTH, PISTOLS AT DAWN returned to the studio to work with Grammy Award-winning producer and engineer Sylvia Massy (Tool, System Of A Down, Johnny Cash) on the new release. “Pistols at Dawn is bright, modern, driving aggression with a halo of vintage darkness,” says MASSY. “Angular guitars and other-worldly vocals crown the super-human strength of these tracks, yet lyrically they describe a fragile earth-bound mortality. Pistols at Dawn are poised to roar into a post-isolation world.”

PISTOLS AT DAWN have today (6/16) debuted the riveting music video for the album’s first single “The Truth,” which introduces new vocalist CRIS HODGES who also fronts In The End: The Premiere Linkin Park Experience and has written music for several blockbuster movies including ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ and ‘Baywatch.’ Watch “The Truth” music video streaming below or HERE. “The Truth” nods to nineties alternative with a distinct and dynamic twist. It’s scheduled for release this Friday, June 17 across all digital platforms; pre-save it at ffm.to/padthetruth.

“‘The Truth’ revolves the around the constant noise we have in our head pushing and pulling our emotions so much that we sometimes lose total control and explode,” explains drummer ADAM JAFFE. “We have to be careful to maintain our thoughts and emotions, or ‘The Truth’ is that they could ‘tear us apart.’ The inspiration behind the music video was to show the constant emotional pinball game our minds play on us privately, coupled with the explosive reality of what can happen if we are truly triggered into chaos.”

JAFFE further remarks on adding HODGES to the lineup: “Cris Hodges joining PAD can only be equated to what it must have felt like when Taylor Hakwins joined Foo Fighters or Grohl joined Nirvana. From our very first hour-long conversation to our very first rehearsal and video shoot, it just felt like it was and is meant to be. Cris is an elite front man with vocal abilities sent from the gods. Our guitarist Devin said it best, ‘it feels like home now.’”

Hard rock heralders PISTOLS AT DAWN bring their “high energy, hard-charging approach to rock n’ roll” (V13) full force in the haunting music video for “Gone Black.” The single is taken from their recent self-released debut EP NOCTURNAL YOUTH, recorded with producer Jeff Tomei (Smashing Pumpkins, Matchbox 20) and mastered by lauded engineer Maor Appelbaum (Faith No More). NOCTURNAL YOUTH’s first single “Voices” received over 1 million video views within the first month of release, while additional videos for singles “Cold,” “Gauntlet,” and “Crown” have amassed 6 million combined views across all platforms.

The “Gone Black” music video, premiered earlier this week via V13 in North America and Midlands Metalheads Radio in the UK, comes just in time for the start of fall and Halloween season as it features haunting makeup and SFX from Shane Morton of Silver Scream FX Lab (Adult Swim’s ‘Your Pretty Face Is Going To Hell,’ ‘Mandy’). Watch “Gone Black” below or at this link: http://smarturl.it/StreamNocturnalYouth.

“‘Gone Black’ is about people who cause their own misery,” explains the band on the track’s meaning. “They are living their lives stagnant while thinking they are living right, all the while sinking into their own arrogance and/or ignorance and following a perpetual cycle. It leaves them with nothing every time.”

“Working with Shane Morton at Silver Scream FX Lab is like working with Picasso,” the band shares. “He’s an absolute guru that executes his vision with such ease and care that one minute you are human and the next you are a real creature of the netherworld. We loved being transformed into our black light beings! Filming ‘Gone Black’ is definitely one of the coolest video production experiences we have ever had.”

PISTOLS AT DAWN was originally formed in Atlanta, GA in 2015 but disintegrated after the tragic passing of guitarist Mike Buffa in 2018.  The band reformed in 2019 with founding members, drummer Adam Jaffe, guitarist Devin White and bassist Billy Sullivan, while adding Tommy Richardson on guitars and VH1 Rockstar Supernova finalist Chris Pierson on vocals. The band is currently completing tracking their debut full length LP, to be be mixed by Sylvia Massy (Tool, System of A Down) and will be released in early 2022.

See the band perform live at one of their upcoming ‘Thank You & F**K Covid’ free concert series in Atlanta and NYC, with additional stops being added soon. The group will also be featured as part of Rock 100.5’s ‘Rock The Bank’ Holiday Benefit Concert’ in Atlanta. A current list of upcoming appearances is as follows:

10/24 – Atlanta, GA – Atlanta Vinyl (FREE)
11/13 – Atlanta, GA – The Loft (presented by Rock 100.5 ‘ Rock The Bank’ Holiday Benefit Concert’
1/22 – NYC, NY – Mercury Lounge (FREE)

Hard Rock Group PISTOLS AT DAWN Reveal New Video Single “Crown”

HARD ROCK GROUP
PISTOLS AT DAWN
REVEAL NEW SINGLE + MUSIC VIDEO
“CROWN”

TAKEN FROM DEBUT EP
‘NOCTURNAL YOUTH’
DUE MAY 7

Hard rock outfit PISTOLS AT DAWN have shared the second heavy-hitting single, “Crown,” from their upcoming debut EP NOCTURNAL YOUTH due out May 7. The music video for “Crown” was premiered April 9 via Ghost Cult Magazine who lauded it as “fresh with an anthemic feel and major Muse vibes.” Watch it streaming below or find it available across all digital platforms here: http://smarturl.it/StreamCrownNow.

“‘Crown’ is about observing a majority of the world pursuing detrimental ways of life,” jointly state PISTOLS AT DAWN. “It’s about knowing better and seeing leadership continually fail those they lead. Too many in power are acting like foolish kings. ‘Crown’ is a push against apathy and ignorance and refusing to represent those ideologies. The video is a visual representation of the dystopian reality we find ourselves living in, a play on the pursuit of the ‘golden idol,’ and a rejection of the internal and external infrastructure that perpetuates this warped existence.”

PISTOLS AT DAWN – “Crown” Official Music Video

PISTOLS AT DAWN recently spoke to their hometown daily paper, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, about the band’s reformation after a brief hiatus following the passing of original guitarist Mike Buffa and the chemistry between founders Adam Jaffe (drums), Devin White (guitars) and Billy Sullivan (bass) with new members Tommy Richardson (guitars) and VH1 Rockstar Supernova finalist Chris Pierson (vocals) while recording their new EP. Read the full chat HERE.

NOCTURNAL YOUTH was recorded with producer Jeff Tomei (Smashing Pumpkins, Matchbox 20) and mastered by engineer Maor Appelbaum (Faith No More) and features four powerful and distinctive tracks which Outburn Magazine applaud for their “instantly catchy sing-along anthems and headbang inducing melodies.” The EP’s debut single “Voices” was released on March 5 and was revered by Indie Pulse Music for its “catchy and powerful chorus.”

PISTOLS AT DAWN has today unveiled the instantly memorable melodic debut single “Voices” with an up-close-and-personal music video highlighting their intense live presence. Watch the video premiering directly via the band’s YouTube here or streaming below.

Voices” is available now across all digital platforms at: https://smarturl.it/StreamVoicesNow

“‘Voices’ is a song about trying to quiet the voices in one’s head and the voices around us,” explains PISTOLS AT DAWN in a joint statement. “We live in a world where everyone has a voice, and it can be hard to find the real truth. It’s about focusing on self-reflection and drawing a line in the sand to weed out all the nonsense. The video for the song is all about intimacy–it’s meant to bring the listener up close so they can see and feel our emotion and expression as we expel the voices through our playing. Connection is everything to us, and we want our listeners to see and feel what we feel. Raw emotion and passion—that’s how we connect.”

PISTOLS AT DAWN was originally formed in 2015 but disintegrated after the tragic passing of guitarist Mike Buffa in 2018.  The band reformed in 2019 with founding members, drummer Adam Jaffe, guitarist Devin White and bassist Billy Sullivan while adding Tommy Richardson on guitars and VH1 Rockstar Supernova finalist Chris Pierson on vocals.
